Helene Teresa Baxter
Helene T. Baxter, 89, passed away January 9, 1998. Born in Audubon, Iowa, she had resided in the Tacoma area the last 31 years. She was a finance dept. clerk at Ft. Lewis before retiring in 1978, and a member of the Legion of Mary at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Survivors: daughter Carol Ann Johnson, CA; son James J. Baxter Jr., University Place; grandsons, Todd and Derrick Johnson; 2 great grandchildren, Max Johnson and Berry McComas; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Service 2:00pm Wednesday in the Mt. View Valley Chapel. Arrangements by Mountain View Funeral Home, 584-0252.

Isabell Marguerite Hoover
1921 - 1998
Isabell M. Hoover, 76, born in Oregon on December 18, 1921, passed away on January 11, 1998 at her home in Tacoma. She graduated from Lincoln County High School of Newport, OR, Class of 1940. She was a WWII veteran in the Army Air Corps. Isabell was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, where she headed the group XYZ, and a member and volunteer for the Point Defiance Zoo. She brought Hickory Farms to the Pacific Northwest and continued as Purchasing Agent for the company. She is survived by son Steven Hoover, OR; daughter Darlene Shotwell, CO; stepdaughter Linda Gieb, Kent; brother Alvin Krake, Bellingham; sisters, Denzil Atkinson, OR, Verma Smith, OR, and Gladys Chaney, WA; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at Emmanuel Lutheran Church on Saturday, January 17 at 11 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium, or American Cancer Society. Arrangements by Tuell-McKee Funeral Home, 272-1414.

Kathleen R. (Forrest) Bishop, 55, a wonderful mother, daughter, sister and most of all...friend-passed away Thursday Jan. 1, 1998. LaVaunne M. Adams, 90, born in Puyallup on Jan. 8, 1908, passed away in Tacoma on January 11, 1998. She loved the outdoors and gardening and took great pride in her years as a nurse, hypnotist and graphoanalyst. A loving sister, mother and grandmother, she will be greatly missed by her sister, Elaine Young, daughter, Janice Murphy, 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Perry "Pete" Cobb, Jr.
Perry "Pete" Cobb, Jr. was born February 24, 1930 in Oak Hill, West Virginia, and passed away January 10, 1998, in Puyallup, WA. He served in both in the United States Army and Air Force. During his 26 years of service in the military, he was awarded the Purple Heart. After his retiring from the United States Air Force, he subsequently worked for the Civil Service at McChord Air Force Base for 10 years, retiring in 1993. "Pete" is survived by his wife, Vilai; son Steven Walker; daughter Kanjamat (John) Mullally; 5 grandchildren; mother Marble Cobb; sisters, June and Janice; lifelong friend Jack (Tuenjai) Calkins. Memorial Services will be held, Wednesday, Jan. 14, 1998 at 3:00pm in the Mt. View Garden Chapel. Funeral Services will take place in Oak Hill, West Virginia, at Tyree Funeral Home; followed by interment in High Lawn Cemetery. Arrangements by Mountain View Funeral Home. 584-0252.

Memorial service Thursday, January 15, 1998 at 1:00 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, 218 E. Crawford, Deer Park, WA. 99006. Pastor Richard Holmes, officiating. George Lee March
George Lee March, 65, beloved husband and father, passed away at St. Francis Hospital, April 10, 1998, after a long illness. A long time resident of Federal Way, George was a member of the first Steel Lake Fire Department in the 1940's, and a graduate of Federal Way High School in 1950. He was also a charter member of the Federal Way Elks, a member of the Cascade Pygmy Goat Association and the Hitchhikers 5th Wheel Club. George is survived by wife, Ila Mae, his children, Jim, Denise, Diane, Steve and Richard, his brother David, his aunt Armis and Uncle Pete and many grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Donations may be made in lieu of flowers to the Tacoma Diabetes Association or the Tacoma Heart Association. Memorial Services will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 1998 at 2:00 PM at the Price-Helton Funeral Home in Auburn, WA.

She was a longtime member of Epworth-LeSourd United Methodist Church and an employee at Budil's Florist for over 20 years. She is survived by her loving family, Daughter-Carol (David) Charest, Tacoma, Son-William (Carole) Streater, CA, 8 grandchildren & 12 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held Tuesday 4 - 8 p.m. at Tuell-McKee Funeral Home with services following on Wednesday at 11 a.m. Interment will be at New Tacoma Cemetery. Kathleen Mary (James) Malesky, born August 22, 1903 in Winnipeg, Canada, died April 10, 1998. She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church for over 58 years, recently residing in Cottesmore Nursing Home the last four years. Kathleen was preceded in death by her husbands, Eric James and John Malesky. She is survived by, sister and nephew, Julie and Jack O'Hagan, Vancouver, B.C.; son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Nancy James, 7 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, April 15, 1998, 9:00 am, Holy Cross Catholic Church. Interment Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements by Gaffney Cassedy Allen & Buckley King Funeral Home.

Matthew Jason Bramblett
Matthew Jason Bramblett, 17, was born May 17, 1980 in Enterprise, Alabama. He was killed in a motor vehicle accident on Monday, April 6, 1998, while on a Christian Youth Retreat in Ibiza, Spain. Matthew was a home-schooled student, but he did attend a few classes at the local high school in Wiesbaden, Germany. Matthew would have graduated high school in June. Matthew is survived by his parents Bruce and Dee Anne Bramblett; his sister, Rachel; his brother, David; two sisters, Becky Taft and Laura Gregory, Athens, GA; his maternal grandmother, Virginia Eland, Venice, FL. Funeral services 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 17 at Haven of Rest Chapel, Hwy. 16, Gig Harbor. Interment at Haven of Rest Memorial Park. There is a memorial being set up in Matthew's name to be used for youth missions. The family was living in Wiesbaden, Germany, at the time of Matthew's death, but will be returning to the Tacoma, WA, area.
