Maria ‘Mickey’ M. Stachowski
CRIVITZ - Maria "Mickey" M. Stachowski, born May 12, 1928, the daughter of Franz and Anna (Boch) Roethel, died on Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2000, at the age of 72 years.

She will be sadly missed by her husband, Carl, to whom she was married for 52 years; her children, Norb (Maria) Stachowski of Hartland, Ginny (Dale) Christianson of Oconomowoc and Pete (Barb) Stachowski of Genesee; her grandchildren, Christina Makovic, Scott Stachowski, Mark (Aimee) Stano, Laura (Chris) Sitter, Matthew Stachowski and Morgan Stachowski; and her great-grandchildren, Melissa and Andrew. She is further survived by other relatives and friends.

A memorial service for Maria will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home on Moreland Boulevard. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at 12:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association, Diabetes Association or the Humane Society are appreciated.

Harriet J. Tess
WAUKESHA - Longtime Waukesha resident, Harriet J. Tess, found peace on Sunday, Sept. 17, 2000, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at the age of 80. Harriet was born July 22, 1920, in Barron, the daughter of George and Mabel (nee Taber) Kimmel.

Harriet was a member of Mt. Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church in Waukesha and was employed at the Krumrich Jewelry Store for 35 years. She had volunteered at the Northview Home and LindenGrove for over 25 years.

Harriet is the beloved mother of Michael (Theresa) McDonald of Waukesha and Beverly (John) Drefahl of Oconomowoc. She will be sadly missed by her sister, Lorraine (Quentin) Bonkrud of Barron. She was the loving grandmother of Shaun and Mark of Oconomowoc and Marsha, Michael, Anthony and Vanessa, all of Waukesha; the loving great-grandmother of Austin, Brandon and Alexa; stepgrandmother of Jessica and Janine of Oconomowoc; and stepgreat-grandmother of Andrew. She will be missed by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth; her stepson, David Tess; her brother, Carl Kimmel; and three sisters, Bernice Hanson, Vivian Hanson and Genevive Cobb.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 20, at Mt. Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1941 Madison St., Waukesha. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be Thursday afternoon in the Wayside cemetery in Barron.

Helen T. Pace (nee Myszel)
WAUKESHA - Helen T. Pace (nee Myszel), 83, died Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2000, at The Waters of Westmoreland. She was born in Milwaukee on Oct. 5, 1916. Mrs. Pace was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Chuch and she worked with her husband, George J. Pace, in his tax consulting business until his retirement.

She is the dear mother of Bobbie (James) Rosenmerkel and Midge Ponsegrau, both of Waukesha, Carl (Judy Knuth) Pace of Delafield and John (Anne Campbell) Pace of Highlands Ranch, Colo. She is further survived by eleven grandchildren, Beth (Scott) Bordeau, Gregory (Linda) Rosenmerkel, John (Jackie Brown) Rosenmerkel, Martha (John) Jaeger, Debbie (Jon) Abraham, Thomas (Tammy) Ponsegrau, D. J. Ponsegrau, Jeffrey (Mary) Pace, Andrew (Valerie) Pace, Helen (Preston) Moxcey and Scott Pace. She is also surived by eleven great-grandchildren, Zachary and Samantha Bordeau, Rebecca and Alyssa Brown-Rosenmerkel, Emma Jaeger, Matthew and Jamie Abraham, Melissa and Nicole Ponsegrau and Timothy and Alexander Pace; her brother, Father George Myszel; her sister, Tilly "Kitty" Rewolinski; Don Ponsegrau; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George J. Pace, in 1985, and her granddaughter, Shelly Ponsegrau.

In accordance with her wishes, her body was donated to the Medical College of Wisconsin. A Memorial Mass will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 14, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church (corners of Hartwell and Newhall Avenues).

Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders Association of Southeast Wisconsin or to St. Mary’s Church.

TOWN OF PEWAUKEE - Eleanor M. Kohls, age 83, of the town of Pewaukee, died Saturday, Sept. 9, 2000.

Harvey L. Wambold
EAGLE - Harvey L. Wambold, 83, of Eagle, died Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2000, at his residence. He was born Jan. 21, 1917, in Eagle, to Roy and Henrietta (Machold) Wambold.

Harvey was retired from International Harvester in Waukesha. He was a member of the Sargent-Splector-Schmidt American Legion Post 535, retired from the Eagle Fire Department, a member of the Eagle United Methodist Church and the Eagle Historical Society.

He is survived by his daughters, Ann (William) Krestan of Eagle, Diane (Wayne) Germain of Chippewa Falls and Lucia (Robert Jr.) Krukar of Eagle; one brother, Donald (Sue) Wambold of Eagle; four sisters, Edna Timm of Palmyra, Phyllis (Warren) Aplin of Ottawa, Ramona Sdano of Whitewater and Eunice Kelso of Palmyra; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Aileen, and one brother, Wesley.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 11, at the Eagle United Methodist Church; the Rev. Bill Busch will officiate. Visitation will be held from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Sunday at Mealy’s Funeral Home, 103 Eagle St., Eagle, and from 1 p.m. until the time of the services at the church on Monday. Burial will be in Oak Ridge cemetery in Eagle.

Memorials to the Eagle United Methodist Church or the Eagle Historical Society are appreciated.

Albert ‘Al’ Stumpf
BROOKFIELD - Albert "Al" Stumpf found peace on Sunday, Oct. 22, 2000, at age 70. He was the loving father of Nancy (Joe) Nadolny, Jane (Greg) Blau and Susan (Richard) Russell. He was the devoted grandpa to Kim and Nicky Nadolny, Andy, Danny and Tommy Blau and Amanda, Katlyn and Andrea Russell. He was the dear husband of Jackie Krell-Stumpf. He was the loving brother of Frank (Elaine), Bette Pizur and Marion Warack. Al is also survived by the children’s mother, Joanne Jeffords (Stumpf), nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Al was the founding partner of Schuppler, Stumpf, Misiewicz, Morgan and Pizur Insurance Agencies. He was the former vice president of Wisconsin Insurance Management and a former member of CPCU Society. He served on the board of advisors for the Jesuit Retreat House in Oshkosh, the Foundation for Religious Retirement, and was an usher at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Wauwatosa for 28 years. Al was the founder of the Wisconsin Chapter of the American Liver Association. He was the co-founder of Penn-Ten Corporation. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and earned the rank of sergeant.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25, at the Becker Ritter Funeral Home, 14075 W. North Ave. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 12130 W. Center St. Please meet at the funeral home. Committal services will be at Holy Cross cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Milwaukee Rescue Mission or the Salvation Army would be appreciated.

Myrtle A. Kilts
PEWAUKEE - Myrtle A. Kilts (nee Teuteberg) was born to eternal life with her family at her side Sunday, Oct. 22, 2000, at age 71.

She was the beloved wife of 47 years to Harvey. She was the loving mother of David (Christine) Kilts of Sullivan, Helen Miller of Union Grove and Brian (Dawn) Kilts of Oconomowoc. She was the special stepmother to Dan (Paulette) Kilts of Holmes Beach, Fla., and Harold (Judy) Kilts of Andover, Minn. She was the proud grandmother of Jana Kais, Danielle Kilts and Michelle and Tyler Miller. She was the fond great-grandmother of Taylor Kais. She was the dear sister of Willard (Donna) Teuteberg of Sullivan, Milton (Colleen) Teuteberg of Athelstane and Jeanette (Richard) Wiemer of Milwaukee. She is further survived by sister-in-laws Ginny Teuteberg of Pewaukee and Lois (Gordon) Hensler of Milwaukee, other relatives and friends.

Myrtle was preceded in death by her parents, Milton and Helen Teuteberg, and her brothers, Neil and Richard Teuteberg.

Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25, at the Yonke and Son Funeral Home, 205 Prospect Ave., Pewaukee. Pastor Sandy Chrostowski will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Interment will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, at Forest Hill cemetery, Pewaukee; please meet at the cemetery.

LaVerne J. Deck
JOLIET, ILL. - LaVerne Joseph Deck, 81, of Joliet, Ill., formerly of Arcadia and Eagle, died Wednesday, Sept. 13, at the Provena St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Joliet.

He was born June 29, 1919, in Montana Township, Wis., the son of Joseph and Agnes Ciszak Deck. He attended St. Boniface School in Waumandee, then helped on the home farm. In November of 1941 he entered the United States Army and served in the European Theater. After his discharge, he returned to Waumandee to farm.

On Sept. 9, 1952, he married Patricia Webb in Arcadia. He worked for Jim Webb in the furniture and funeral business. Later they moved to Waukesha where he drove a delivery truck. In 1957 they moved to Eagle where he held various jobs. He retired from the Palmyra-Eagle School District where he worked as a custodian. In 1995 they moved to Joliet, Ill., to live with their daughter, Johannha. Pat died Aug. 23, 1997.

He is survived by his sons, James (Debra) Deck of Fort Atkinson, Michael (Linda) Deck of Big Bend and Bernard (Lora) Deck of Charlotte, N.C.; his daughter, Johannha Deck of Joliet; two grandsons, Joshua and Jonathan; his brothers, Claude (Colleen) Deck of Onalaska and Morris (Sally) Deck of Arcadia; and his sisters, Mercille (Ray) Bagniewski of Cochrane and Bernice Running of Mondovi. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and his brother, Lonnie.

Funeral services were held on Monday, Sept. 18, at St. Boniface Church in Waumandee; the Rev. John Steiner officiated. Burial with military rites was held in the Calvary cemetery in Arcadia.

Casket bearers were John, Ray and Tom Bagniewski and Bob Jonathan and Joshua Deck. Arrangements were made by Goodrich Funeral Home in Durand.

Thomas Pyle
WAUKESHA - Thomas Pyle, 54, of Waukesha, died Thursday, Sept. 28, 2000, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital. Funeral arrangements are pending with Randle-Dable Funeral Home. Please call the funeral home at 547-4035 for further details.

Douglas P. Andersen
WAUKESHA - Douglas P. Andersen of Waukesha, born Jan. 10, 1952, died suddenly Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2000, at the age of 48.

In his own words, "I am a writer ... If I tried to be anything else ... it would kill my soul, ruin my spirit and destroy my mind ... I am a writer." Doug’s most notable creation was a play put on at Carroll College titled "Somewhere in a Colorless Rainbow."

He will be sadly missed by his parents, George and Marion Andersen of Waukesha; his two sisters, Peggy (Jeffry) Troestler of Sussex and Holli (Brad) Shepherd of Irving, Texas; nieces, Melissa Troestler and Jessica Shepherd; nephew, Christopher Troestler; and other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3, with a service following at 5 p.m. at Larsen Brothers-New Berlin Funeral Home at 152nd Street and National Avenue, 549-0659.

Mildred E. ‘Millie’ Weber
NEW BERLIN - Mildred E. "Millie" Weber (nee Heyen), 87, of New Berlin, passed away at her home Thursday, Nov. 9, 2000, with her husband of 59 years at her side. She was born to Charles and Anna (nee Schmidt) Heyen in Milwaukee. She attended McKinley Grade School and Girl’s Technical High School.

Millie and Otto were married Aug. 31, 1941, and resided in the town of Waukesha. In 1949 they moved to Lawnsdale Road in New Berlin and lived there until her death. Millie worked at Herbst Pharmacy for over 20 years and retired in 1985. Previous to Herbst’s, she worked at Waukesha Memorial Hospital as a scheduler for the nurses. Millie loved her garden; she got a special joy from the evergreens she and Otto planted, along with the many flowers that adorned their house.

She is survived by her husband, Otto; two loving children, Gary Weber of Milwaukee and Darlene (Herman) Lange of New Berlin; her two dear grandchildren, Christopher (Shannon) Lange and Shannon (Robert) Drought; and her two sisters, Viola Webster of Michigan and Annabelle Grunert of Brookfield. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Millie was a longtime member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and a member of the St. Mary’s Christian Women.

Services will be held at noon Saturday, Nov. 11, at Rudolph Larsen Bros. Funeral Home, 500 N. East Ave., Waukesha; Sr. Jeanine Retzer officiating. Friends may call after 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. The committal will follow at St. Joseph’s cemetery.

Ida Sitzberger
MILWAUKEE - Ida Sitzberger (nee Meyer) fell asleep in Jesus’ arms Saturday, Nov. 18, 2000, at the age of 86.

She was the beloved wife of the late Walter; loving mother of Robert (Carol), Paul, Carol (Raymond) Brase, Virginia (David) Howard, David (Kathleen), Cynthia (Gregory) Williamson and Rudoph (Roxanne); and dear sister of Evelyn (Robert) Hanafan and Ralph (Marion) Meyer. She was preceded in death by her sister, Marie Peterson, and grandson, Jason Sitzberger. She is further survived by 13 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Ida was a former employee of J. C. Penney and a volunteer at Luther Manor Nursing Home and Laubach Literacy Center.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m today, Nov. 21, at the Schramka Herrick Funeral Home, W164-N9034 Water St., Menomonee Falls; funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. A second visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22, at the funeral home with prayers at 10 a.m. Interment will be at Immanuel cemetery.

Memorials to The American Heart Association or Reformation Lutheran Church are appreciated.

Rena C. Carter
WAUKESHA - Rena C. Carter died Monday evening, Nov. 20, 2000, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at the age of 107. She was born Oct. 4, 1893, the daughter of Oliver and Kathryn (nee Tipton) Hackett.

In her younger years, Rena taught Sunday School at her church. More recently, she taught crafts to senior citizens and counseled elderly people who lived nearby.

She is the beloved mother of Don (Mickey) Carter of Mesa, Ariz., and Mary Kiphart of Waukesha. She will be missed by nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Rena was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd, in 1966; an infant daughter, Elsie Mildred; and her sons, Robert and William.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 26, at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home on Moreland Boulevard. Rev. Warren Bitzer and Rev. Elbert Ison will officiate. Friends may call Sunday from 2 p.m. until the 3 p.m. services. Interment will be in Prairie Home cemetery.

Memorials would be appreciated to The Waukesha Hospital Foundation.

George Remley Hulen
WAUKESHA - George Remley Hulen, DDS, MSD, found peace on Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2000, at the age of 79. George was born in Milwaukee on Feb. 8, 1921, to the late Rev. and Mrs. William Perry Hulen. He was a graduate of Marquette and Northwestern universities. His dental/orthodontic practice spanned 35 years.

George is survived by his loving friend and companion, LaRaine Hulen, and his children, Jim (Colleen) Hulen of Hartland and Lynn (Terry) Bright of Denver, Colo. He is further survived by his grandchildren, Jim and Kerri Hulen and Whitney and Will Bright.

A private memorial service was held at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield.

Memorials may be made to Cedar Lake Health Care Center, 5595 Highway. Z, West Bend, WI 53095, the nursing home where he was cared for for over 20 years by a loving and compassionate staff.

Margurita D. Mahalek
PEWAUKEE - Margurita D. Mahalek (nee Patti), of Pewaukee, entered eternal life Friday, Sept. 29, 2000, at the age of 82. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Albert F. Mahalek.

She is the loving mother of Patti Marie (Jerry) Connolly and Kathleen Ann (Gordon) Harris; proud and loving Nana of Wendy M. Hunley, Jeffrey and Gary Connolly, Christopher Stuht, Gabrielle Tans and Carly Harris; and great-Nana of Amy, Sara, Grace and William Connolly and Emily and Julianna Stuht. She was the dear sister of Santa Maria Busch and Rosalie Gagliano. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and special friends.

Marge was an employee of Boston Store for 47 years, a member of the Pewaukee Kiwanis Club, a voter registrar for the Town of Pewaukee, and a proud member of the Madonna Del Lume Society, the Holy Crucifix Society and the Italian Community Center.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until the time of the prayer vigil service at 7 p.m. today, Oct. 3, at the Schmidt & Bartelt Guardalabene & Amato Funeral Home, 10121 W. North Ave., Wauwatosa. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4, at St. Anthony’s on the Lake, W280-N2101 Hwy. SS, Pewaukee (exit I-94 at the 290 exit); please meet at the church for Mass. A procession to Holy Cross cemetery for committal service and burial will follow the Mass.

If desired, memorials may be directed to Marge’s family.
