Porter, Frances G.
LONE ROCK - Frances Gwen Porter, age 87 of Lone Rock, died Saturday, Aug. 16, 2008, at Sauk Prairie Memorial Hospital. She was born Feb. 27, 1921, in Iowa County the daughter of Henry and Della (Adams) Peterson. On Feb.12, 1939, Gwen married
Wayne Porter and he preceded her in death on May 3, 1993. Gwen was the organizer of the Bear Creek Jets 4-H club. The couple farmed together in Lone Rock and Bear Valley. They then moved to Cumberland where they farmed and fished until moving back to Lone Rock. Gwen lived at Greenway Manor for the past four years because of failing health. She was a member of the Lone Rock Congregational Church and the Service Guild. Gwen is survived by three daughters, Sharon (Jon) Warner of Baraboo, Linda Everson of Harmony, Minn., and Patricia (Budde) Fitch of Hillpoint; 13 grandchildren, Frances Grell (fiancé Dan Christianson), Brenda (Robert) Tobey, Wendell Jr. (Lori) Kraemer, Michelle (Bruce) Craker, James (Nancy) Warner, Linda Warner, Mark Everson, Debbie (Jim) Jenning, Brian Everson, Wayne Everson, Minnie (Dave) Szopinski, Greg Fitch, and Dana (Tom) Weigman; 26 great-grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren; sister, Phyllis Bernicke; two brothers, Verlyn (Osie) Peterson and Charles (Helen) Peterson; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Gwen was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Gene Peterson; son-in-law, William Grell; grandsons, William Grell and Shane Kraemer; great-grandson, Nathaniel Anthony Vielhuber; and great great-grandson, Nathaniel Ray Vielhuber. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2008, at 11 a.m. at the LONE ROCK CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH with the Reverend Craig Peach officiating and burial to follow in the Button cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. The Pratt Funeral Service of Richland Center is assisting the family with their arrangements.
Zuege, Julianna A. "Gail"
MADISON - Julianna A. "Gail" Zuege, age 73, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 16, 2008, at her home. She was born on June 23, 1935, the daughter of Otto and Margaret (Barry) Haugaard. Gail married
Kurt Zuege on April 29, 1978, in Madison. She worked for WPS for 22 years retiring in 2001. Gail enjoyed hand crafts, going on gambling trips, and on road trips with Kurt as his navigator. She is survived by her husband, Kurt; son, Doug Schenck of Cottage Grove; daughter, Joanna Franks of Madison; two grandchildren, Kari (David) Evans and Joseph Welke both of Madison; three great-grandchildren, Devon, Kayli and D.J.; sisters, Fran Bruer of Sauk Prairie, Pat Haugaard of Denver; two sisters-in-law, Mary Haugaard of Oxford and Ruby Haugaard of Wauconda, Ill.; and many nieces and nephews. Gail was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Thomas and Robert; and sisters, Laura and Joyce. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, on Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2008, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. David Rostad officiating. Entombment will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from noon until the time of service. Benson, Sharon L.
MADISON - Sharon L. Benson, age 70, of Madison, passed away on Monday, Dec. 15, 2008, at St. Mary's Hospital, surrounded by her family. She was born on June 17, 1938, in Madison, the daughter of William and Lorraine (Hett) Ashard. Sharon graduated from Madison East High School in 1956. After high school, she attended St. Mary's Nursing School. Sharon worked as a parking meter attendant for the Madison Police Department for 32 years, until retiring in 1999. Sharon is survived by her children, William (Remick) Benson, Susan Benson (Dean Olson), James Benson, and Joe Benson (Carolyn Reis); grandchildren, Jason, Krystal and Kyle Schmidtke, and Dakota, Sawyer and Evyn Benson; great-grandchildren, Destiny, Jacob and Kayleigh; sisters, Donna (Ted) Gerry, Nancy Dolsey, Sandra Gilmore, and Mary (Charles) Miller; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers-in-law, Ozzie Dolsey and Glendon Gilmore; and a nephew, Christopher Gilmore. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 20, 2008. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 19, 2008, and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday.

Beyersdorf, Virginia
MADISON - Virginia Beyersdorf, age 92, of Madison, died peacefully on Sunday, Dec. 14, 2008, at Trinity Senior Management in Madison. Virginia was born on July 19, 1916, in Saint Ignace, Mich., to Owen and Ina McGrath. She came from a family of 10 brothers and sisters, with all of her brothers sailing on the Great Lakes ore haulers, including her brother "Captain Ray." Virginia met and married
Dan Beyersdorf in Michigan in 1943. Dan worked for the Fed. Aviation Agency, and together they moved to Madison in 1949. Together they had two sons, Pat of Rochester, Minn., and Mitch of Madison. Dan died in 1997 and Virginia continued to live on Madison's East Side. Virginia and her artwork will be missed by all who knew her. Survivors include her two sons; and her grandchildren, Chris, Mitch and Tracy. She is also survived by sisters, Rita and Madge of Michigan. A private service is planned for a later date.

Blaser, Evelyn N.
MADISON - Evelyn Norine Blaser, age 88, passed away Monday, Dec. 15, 2008. She was born Dec. 23, 1919, the daughter of the late John P. and Sylvia E. (Schmid) Stuessy. Evelyn was born and raised in New Glarus and graduated from New Glarus High School. On Jan. 23, 1940, she was united in marriage to Albert C. Blaser in New Glarus. He preceded her in death on Sept. 5, 1988. Together they lived in New Glarus, and then moved to Belleville for 12 years until 1967 when they became residents of Madison. Evelyn was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Madison. She enjoyed gardening and family involvement. Survivors include daughters, Sonja (Don) Fjelstad of Madison, and Annette (John) Nast of Palm Bay, Fla.; granddaughter, Stephanie (Jeff Nickels) Schutz of Waunakee; grandsons, Dane Fjelstad of Madison, Eric Fjelstad of Milwaukee, Wayne Nast of Palm Bay, Fla., and Jason Nast of Palm Bay, Fla.; four great-grandchildren; brother, Dennis (Mary) Stuessy of Monroe; sisters-in-law, Mildred Stuessy of Monroe, and Hedwig Hankel of New Glarus; brother-in-law, Herbert (Lou Ann) Blaser of Belleville; and many nieces and nephews. "You will be forever in our hearts." She was preceded in death by her husband; and brother, Kenneth Stuessy. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 19, 2008, at HOLY CROSS LUTHERAN CHURCH, 2670 Milwaukee St., Madison, with Pastor Bernt Tweit officiating. Friends may call at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3325 E. Washington Ave., on Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., and on Friday at church from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service. Bollant, Francis J.
LIVINGSTON - Francis J. Bollant, age 74, passed away Monday, Dec. 15, 2008, at the Bloomfield Manor Nursing Home in rural Dodgeville. He was born Sept. 14, 1934, in Livingston to Clarence and Regina (Whitish) Bollant. Francis was married
to Barbara Prochaska on Sept. 24, 1956, at the St. John Nepumuc Catholic Church in Castle Rock. Survivors include five children, Susan (John) Ulvilden of Waunakee, Richard Bollant of Henderson, Nev., Dan (Bridget) Bollant of Dodgeville, Mark (Sue) Bollant of Livingston, and Karen (Randy) Schult of Barneveld; seven grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Bollant of Madison; and special friend, Loretta Munson and her family. He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Barbara on March 3, 1986. Funeral services will be held at the ST. THOMAS CATHOLIC CHURCH in Montfort at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008, with Father Ken Frisch presiding. Burial will be in Rock Church cemetery in Clifton Township, Grant County. POYNETTE - Susan C. Constance, age 73, passed away on Monday, Dec. 15, 2008, at Divine Savior Healthcare Hospital in Portage. Susan was born on March 19, 1935, in Marquette, Mich., the daughter of Norman E. and Antoinette I. (Johnston) Constance. She is survived by husband, Kenneth Branton of Town of Lodi; children, Kim Lindholm (Toni) of Poynette, Connie Labunski (Tim) of Wind Lake, Brian Downey (Linda) of Juneau, Darci Spraeder (John) of Berlin, Bob Senkowski (Paula) of Poynette, and Guy Senkowski (Judy) of Poynette; 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Bonnie Till (Denny) of Poynette; a niece and a nephew; other relatives and many close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents. Private inurnment will take place in Marquette, Mich. Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Poynette is assisting the family.
Cuccia, Therese Anne (Accardo)
MADISON - Therese Anne (Accardo) Cuccia, age 59, passed away peacefully on Monday, Dec. 15, 2008, at the HospiceCare Center, in Fitchburg after a battle with cancer. She was born on Oct. 8, 1949, in Madison. Therese was a devoted mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed. She was a devout Catholic who shared her beliefs with everyone. It was her strongest desire that we all join her in heaven someday. Therese is survived by two daughters, Nicolle (Don) Eyre and Lucy Cuccia; four grandchildren, Mark, Katlin and Kelsey Eyre, and Madilyn Cuccia; four sisters, Francis (David) Paltz, Nina (Chas) Coberly, Mary Brinsko and JoAnn (Lyle) Claussen; brother, Carl (Barb) Accardo; 16 nieces and nephews; 10 great nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Antoinette Accardo; and two infant siblings. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. PATRICK'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 404 E. Main St., on Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008, at 10 a.m. with Monsignor Kevin Holmes officiating. Burial to immediately follow at Resurrection Catholic cemetery. A special thank you to her extended family who spent countless hours at her bedside, giving endlessly to ensure her comfort and peace. Evenson, Peter J.
FORT ATKINSON - Peter J. Evenson, age 55, of Fort Atkinson, passed away Sunday, Dec. 14, 2008, at the University of Minnesota Fairview Hospital in St. Paul, Minn., following a courageous battle with leukemia. Peter Jeffrey Evenson was born in Racine on June 28, 1953, son of Merrill and Carol (Traeder) Evenson. He attended Hiawatha Grade School in Menomonee Falls and graduated from Lake Mills High School in 1971. He had been married
to the former Judy Sonnemann. Pete had been employed at Crepaco in Lake Mills for 26 years and ended his working career at Dodge Concrete in Jefferson. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Fort Atkinson and enjoyed canoeing and camping. Pete is survived by his mother, Carol Evenson of Watertown; a son, Kole Evenson of Fort Atkinson; a daughter, Kyia Evenson of Madison; two brothers, James Evenson of Minneapolis, Minn., and Chris (Karla) Evenson of Lake Mills; a niece, Emma; other relatives and friends. His father preceded him in death on Jan. 4, 1998. Funeral services will be held Friday evening, Dec. 19, 2008, at 7 p.m. at the HAFEMEISTER FUNERAL HOME in Watertown, with the Rev. Willis Piepenbrink, of Peace Lutheran Church in Fort Atkinson, officiating. Burial will be in LaBelle cemetery in Oconomowoc on Saturday, Dec. 20, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday from 5 p.m. until the time of the service.
