Phillip J. Burkard
Phillip J. Burkard, 70, of De Pere, died at a local nursing home on Sunday, May 23, 2004, after a year-long battle with cancer. Phillip was born Sept. 3, 1933, in Green Bay to the late Norbert and Mary (Champeau) Burkard. On June 9, 1956, he married the former Nancy Kuehl at St. Mary Catholic Church in De Pere. He served in the U.S. Army during the end of the Korean conflict and was stationed in Germany as a heavy duty machinery equipment mechanic. Mr. Burkard founded De Pere Cabinet Company in 1975 and ran it as a family business. He retired in 1995 and De Pere Cabinet remains a family-run business. Phil enjoyed working outdoors and on all his big boy toys (machines), as well as restoring old cars. He loved being at his home on the lake, his waterfall pond, and feeding all the birds.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy, five sons, Jeff, Brad (Theresa), Doug (Melody), Eric (Brenda M.), Gary (Brenda A.), one daughter, Marianne (Keith) Monson, grandchildren, Jeremy (friend, Dawn Robinson) Burkard, Jason Burkard, Todd (Tiffani) Burkard, Pam (friend, Tim Pagel) Burkard, Paul Monson, Kaylin Monson, Travis Burkard, Isabelle Burkard (step greatgrandchild, Katy), one brother, Jerry (Grace) Burkard, four sisters, Mary Jean (Jim) Maricque and Dorothy Bostedt, all of Green Bay area, Donna (Tom) Willette, Las Vegas, Nev., LaVern (Don) Neperud, Amery, Wis., two sisters-in-law, Margaret Burkard, Appleton, and Lolly Burkard, Wauwautosa, one brother-in-law, Randy (Marian) Kuehl, Green Bay, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by parents, Norbert and Mary Burkard, brothers, Arnold, Clarence, and Raymond , brother-in-law Fritz Bostedt and his parents-in-law, Randall and Margaret Kuehl.
Friends may call on Wednesday, May 26, 2004 from 3 to 6 p.m. at St. Mary Catholic Community on Pope John XXIII Circle off Sportsman Dr, town of Ledgeview. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 6 p.m. on Wednesday at the Church with the Rev. John H. Harper, officiating. Entombment in Allouez Mausoleum. RYAN FUNERAL HOME of De Pere, 920-336-3171, is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a memorial fund has been established. Survivors include his mother, Mary Marcks, Seymour; sister, Shirley (Bernard) Delvaux, Green Bay; brother, Gaylord (Virginia) Marcks, Seymour; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mildred V. (Hering ) Moutrie
Mildred V. (Hering ) Moutrie, 92, Green Bay, went to her heavenly home Saturday, May 22, 2004 at a local nursing home. She was born Feb. 5, 1912 in Green Bay, a daughter to the late Frederick and Rose (Abts) Hering. Mildred graduated from St. Joseph grade school and later West High School. In September of 1936, Mildred was united in marriage to William C. Moutrie at St. Joseph Catholic Church. He preceded her in death in June of 1972. Mildred was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Parish and volunteered at St. Vincent DePaul for many years. Mildred will be long remembered as a humble, patient person who had a gentle and giving nature.
Survivors include four children, Jean Coughlin, Indiana
polis, Ind., Mary Lou Tousey, San Francisco, Calif., Bette Hlava, Village of Howard, Mike Moutrie, Woodstock, Ill.; 14 grandchildren, Eileen, Liz, Karen, Jeff, Sarah, Chris, Amy, Leea, Nathan, Kathleen, Emily Rose, Bahiyyih, Layli, Khalil; 13 great-grandchildren, many other relatives and friends. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, her husband William, and a grandson, Chuck Hlava.
Friends may call at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 936 Ninth Street, from 9:30 until10:30 a.m. Tuesday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the church with the Rev. Michael Ingold officiating. Burial will be in Fort Howard Memorial Park. Blaney Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Mildred's family would like to thank Sr. Toni, her good friend Florence DeMuth, the nurses and the staff of San Luis Manor and all of those who cared for Mildred through the years.

Raymond Pelishek
Raymond Pelishek, 75, Green Bay, died Friday morning May 21, 2004 at a local hospital. Raymond was born on May 28, 1928 in New Denmark to the late Rudolph and Frances (Budweiser) Pelishek. On March 14, 1974 he married Lois Krueger at First United Presbyterian Church in De Pere. For over 30 years Raymond worked as a foreman for Schuster Construction. After retiring from Schuster Construction Raymond and his friend Erv Vanden Elzen started Highway 96 Sawmill and he worked there until his retirement. He was a member of the Laborers Union #539 for over 40 years. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and pets. He also enjoyed camping up north and fishing. He was an avid bowler and Lois and Raymond bowled in a couples league for over 20 years.
Raymond is survived by his wife, Lois Pelishek; two sons, Rick and Jodi Pelishek, Randy Pelishek; one daughter, Nancy and Marty Christianson; two step-daughters, Mary and Joe Fruzen, Terry and Tim Zeitler; one step-son, Gary Edwards; thirteen grandchildren, Sarah, Becky, Michael, Nicholas, Nathan, Matthew, Karl, Erica, Emily, Angie, Anna, Autstin and Taylor; one sister, Gladys Boushka. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph and Frances Pelishek and one brother, Clarence Pelishek.
Friends may call at Proko-Wall Funeral Home and Crematory, 1630 East Mason St., 468-4111, on Sunday from 4-8 p.m. Visitation will continue on Monday morning from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home. Funeral Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Ted Tromble officiating.

Evelyn M. Sims, 80, died Friday, May 2, 2004 at her home. Evelyn had been employed at Oneida Golf and Riding for many years. The visitation and funeral will be held on Tuesday at Blaney Funeral Home.
