David "Big Dad" Alexander
David "Big Dad" Alexander, 58, Green Bay, died unexpectedly Saturday, July 31, 2004 at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital in Iron Mountain. Born in Green Bay on April 4, 1946, he is the son of Arthur and the late Gloria (Agamaite) Alexander. David was a 1964 graduate of Preble High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. On August 16, 1969 he married Linda Klunk in Green Bay. David has been employed at Fort Howard Paper Company most of his life as a machinist retiring in 2000. He enjoyed his cabin in Florence, hunting, fishing, his dogs, but most of all times spent with his children and grandchildren. The fish at the Brule backwater can now rest at ease.

Survived by his two children, Bret (Gina) Alexander, Dawn (Mark) Delforge all of Green Bay; four grandchildren, Joshua Delforge, Tayler Delforge, Dakota David Delforge, and Brody Alexander; father, Arthur Alexander of Green Bay; one brother, Donald Alexander of Green Bay; one sister, Deane (Chuck) Rizzo of Hastings, Minn.; former spouse and forever friend, Linda Alexander of Green Bay; nieces and nephews, and his dog Blondie.

Preceded in death by his mother, Gloria Alexander; one brother, Danny Alexander.

Friends may call at WEST MASON MALCORE Funeral Home, 1530 West Mason Street, from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and prior to the funeral on Wednesday. Funeral Wednesday 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Kim Sechler presiding. Special thanks to all his friends that made his life complete. Thanks Troy (buddy).

Mrs. William (Eileen Early) Blaney
Mrs. William (Eileen Early) Blaney, 83, Green Bay, died Sunday, August 1, 2004 at her home. She was born Dec. 20, 1920 in De Pere to the late William and Sarah (Broderick) Early. She graduated from St. Patrick Grade School and in 1938 graduated from West High School. Eileen had also attended Oshkosh Teachers College. Early in her life she worked in Kewaunee and Sturgeon Bay at the shipyards and as an operator for the telephone company. She also enjoyed her days flying as a stewardess for TWA. On Jan. 17, l948, she married William J. Blaney at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Mrs. Blaney was a licensed funeral director. She and her husband Bill worked together for many years at Blaney Funeral Home which was founded in l940 by Bill. She was a long time member of St. Patrick Parish and was a charter member of the Shamrock Club of Northeast Wisconsin and was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians.

Survivors include her six children and their spouses, Bill Blaney, Tom Blaney, both of Green Bay, Mike and Mary Blaney, Howard, John Blaney, Ken and Cathy Blaney and Mary Jo and Jon Kolb, all of Green Bay; six grandchildren, Patrick, Kevin, Bridget and Brian Blaney and Kathleen and Erin Blaney; two sisters-in-law, Mary Early, Milwaukee and Grace Crabb, De Pere; two brothers-in-law, Robert Blaney, Green Bay and William Van Horne, Western Springs, Ill., her cousins and many nieces and nephews who were very dear to her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William, on May 25, 1989; an infant son, James; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Bill and Ruth Early, Jack Early; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Jean Ann and Francis Crabb and Mary Jane Van Horne and a sister-in-law, Mildred Blaney.

Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. There will be a Parish Wake Service at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday. Friends may also call at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 211 N. Maple, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Wednesday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church with Msgr. Brian Coleman officiating. Burial will be in Allouez Catholic Cemetery.

A memorial fund has been established.

Eileen's family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of Unity Hospice for their care of Eileen during her illness

Joseph Edward Leurquin
Joseph Edward Leurquin, 74, Rhinelander, former Green Bay resident. Memorial service 6 p.m. Aug. 9 at Ss. Peter & Paul Parish, 710 N. Baird St., in Green Bay. Dinner at Rock Garden Supper Club, 1951 Bond St., Green Bay. Survivors include his sister, Rita Vanniewenhoven, Lakewood; brother, Richard Leurquin, Eagle River; his children, J. Scott Leurquin, New York, N.Y., Nina Kelly, Henderson, Colo., Julie Shoemaker, Thornton, Colo., and Chris Leurquin, Rhinelander; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

Marcy A. Mellen
Marcy A. Mellen, 81, New Franken. Funeral arrangements are pending. Proko-Wall Funeral Home & Crematory, 1630 E. Mason St., is assisting the family.

Vesta "Bess" Rocque
Vesta "Bess" Rocque, 86, Green Bay. Visitation 2-5 p.m. today at St. Willebrord Catholic Church, 209 S. Adams St. Mass of Christian Burial 5 p.m. at the church. Survivors include five children, Richard and Karen Rocque, Houston, Texas, Jack and Sharon Rocque, Green Bay, Sherry White and her special friend, James Werley, Green Bay,Connie and Pete Walton, Green Bay, Kathy and Steven Vander Geeten, Owensboro, Ky.; 19 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren.

Jean Wilson
Jean Wilson, 89, Ashwaubenon. Visitation 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Lyndahl Funeral Home, 1350 Lombardi Ave. Memorial service 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Survivors include one son, David (Susan) Wislon, Minneapolis, Minn.; one daughter, Marjorie (Richard) DeMallie, Rochester, N.Y.; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Bridget John (special friend, Bill Webster), De Pere; two sons, Fran John (special friend, Melinda Danforth), Green Bay, Shane John (special friend, Lisa Huff), Oneida; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Carol (Norman) Elm, De Pere, Judy (Tony) Skenandore, Seymour.

Barbara Jean Harring LeMere
Barbara Jean Harring LeMere, 55, Wichita Falls, Texas, formerly, Green Bay died July 22, 2004.

Barbara Jean was born August 22, 1948 to Nicholas and Dorothy (Konshak) Harring in Green Bay. She attended Lincoln grade school before transferring to St. Agnes Catholic School. She attended Franklin Junior High School and finished at West High School graduating in 1966. She was proud of many accomplishments while in school but her fondest memory was marching with the West High band at the Indiana polis 500. Barb married Richard (Dick) LeMere on Nov. 2, 1966 in Green Bay and they began a 37 year romantic adventure that included 26 years of military life and raising three talented and beautiful daughters. Barb worked as a Personnel Specialist for the National Park Service in Anchorage, Alaska and for the U.S. Air Force at Torrejon AB near Madrid, Spain. While in Spain she decided her talents were best suited for the secretarial field, made the transition and never looked back. She also worked as a secretary at S.A.F.B. Public Affairs, IG, and Legal Offices in Wichita Falls, Tx. Barb and Dick decided to take an early retirement and bought a home in Horseshoe Bend, Ark. They planned to move this month but our Heavenly Father decided she should move to a more permanent Home.

We miss our wife, mother and friend terribly. In our grief we ask why Barbara? Her grandson, Josh, summed it up best by saying "God must have needed a really good secretary".

She is survived by her husband, Richard (Dick) LeMere; three daughters, Dawn Loeffler of Wichita Falls, Tx., Julie Andrews and husband, Kent of Beaumont, Tx., Kathy Ziegler and husband, Andreas (Zig) of Columbus Air Force Base, Ms.; one sister, Judy Harring Henning and husband, Richard of Green Bay; one brother, Roger Harring and wife Mary of Lacrosse; grandchildren, Josh and Jake Loeffler and Jordyn and Kylea Andrews; mother, Dorothy Harring of Green Bay.

Visitation is from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, August 2, 2004 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Green Bay. Mass Service 11 a.m. Monday at the church with Rev. Dane Radecki officitationg O. Praem.

Wilbert C. Mauer
Wilbert C. Mauer, 90, McHenry, Ill., former Green Bay resident. Visitation 4-9 p.m. today at the George R. Justen & Son Funeral Home, 3519 W. Elm St., McHenry, Ill. Mass 10 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 3500 W. Washington St., McHenry, Ill, 60050. Survivors include children, Patricia (Donald) Nugent, Minooka, Ill., Susan (Anthony) Perrone, Palatine, Ill., Charles (Karen) Mauer, Olympia, Wash. and Robert (Rebecca) Mauer, McHenry, Ill.; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

Linda W. Zimmer
Linda is at peace. She passed away at age 96 on July 30, 2004 in Green Bay. Born to the late George and Emma (Krause) Brusewitz. Linda was baptized at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Gillett, Wis., confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Pulcifer, Wis. and graduated from Gillett High School. On April 4, 1929, she married Edward Zimmer; they enjoyed 64 years of marriage, rejoicing in their bond.

Linda and Ed joined Bethel Lutheran Church in 1929. Linda had a deep and abiding faith in God. She was an active member of Bethel where she held many leadership roles. Linda was also active at Norwood School where she was the room mother for her children and a Cub Scout Den Mother. Linda loved her family dearly. Her cooking and baking as well as her words expressed that sentiment. She will be remembered for her quick wit: in response to the question "How do you feel Grandma?" She would reply, "With my fingers!"

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Merlin and Carolyn Zimmer and Glenn and Diane Zimmer; one daughter and son-in-law, Karlene and Darrell Butrymowicz, Green Bay; two sons-in-law, Leonard Marohl, Cecil, Wis. and Jerry Schirk, Green Bay. Linda is also survived by her grandchildren, Keith and Bruce Marohl, Zachary Zimmer, Stacy (Steve) Stocki, Troy Zimmer, William Butrymowicz (financee, Amy Boettcher), Edward Butrymowicz and the children of her son, Loren; one sister, Helen Skinner, Oregon, Wis.; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Zimmer; two daughters, Betty Marohl and Jerrolyn Schirk; one son, Loren "Buddy" Zimmer; one grandson, Joel Schirk and one granddaughter; one brother, Daniel Brusewitz; and three sisters: Mrs. Frank (Esther) Hagedorn, Mrs. Leo (Elsie) Schuettpelz and Mrs. Russell (Hildegard) Christensen.

The family will receive friends and family at Lyndahl Funeral Home, Lombardi Ave. at Ridge Rd. from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Sunday, August 1. Visitation will continue after 12 noon Monday at Bethel Lutheran Church, the corner of Bond St. and North Platten, where the funeral service will take place at 1:00 P.M. with the Rev. Gary Froseth officiating. Burial will be in Ft. Howard Memorial Park.

The family would like to thank the staff of Cardinal Ridge Residential Care, Unity Hospice, and Peace Lutheran Church; Pastor Don Behrendt and Parish Nurses, Gloria and Marsha, for their care and many kindnesses. "GOD BE WITH YOU TILL WE MEET AGAIN"
