Cletus Johnson
Cletus Johnson, 81, Green Bay, passed away peacefully at home Thursday, June 24, 2004. He was born July 17, 1922, to the late Francis and Jennie (Forvely) Johnson in Peshtigo, Wis. On September 4, 1950, he married the former Carolyn Schwenn in Madison; she preceded him in death March 21, 2004. Cletus had been a practicing attorney for 20 years and later had been Brown County Family Court Commissioner, retiring in 1993. He had a strong interest in politics and ran for office on the state and federal level. Cletus was a member of the State Bar Association and was involved with the Boys & Girls Club in Menominee, Mich. His many interests included bowling, golf, bridge, gardening, puzzles, card games and he was a devoted Packer and Chicago Cubs fan.
Survivors include three daughters, Cathy Tuomisto, Appleton; Linda Johnson, Green Bay; and Judy Johnson-Zollar, Green Bay; one son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Mary Johnson, Green Bay; six grandchildren, Carrie (Peter) Hutton; John Tuomisto; Mollie Tuomisto; Justin Zollar; Jacy Zollar; and Jenalee Johnson; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Joshua Tuomisto and Alayna Zollar; three brothers; and four sisters.
Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday, June 27, at Lyndahl Funeral Home, Lombardi Avenue at Ridge Road. Visitation will continue after 10 a.m. Monday at Ft. Howard Memorial Park Mausoleum where the funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Steve Fewell officiating. Entombment will be at Ft. Howard Memorial Park.
The family would like to thank Dr. Kenneth Kubsch, Sherry Kasee, and the staffs of Interim Healthcare and Unity Hospice for all of the care and concern that was given to Cletus.
He dreamt, he planned, he struggled,

Evelyn J. (Britt) Smith
Evelyn J. (Britt) Smith, 68, Green Bay resident, died Wednesday evening, June 23, 2004, surrounded by her children, at a local hospital following a brief illness. She was born December 22, 1935, in Grand Rapids, Mich., to the late Joseph and Lillian (Milinsky) Britt. Evelyn attended Catholic Central High School in Grand Rapids, Mich., graduating in 1954. She married Patrick Smith on May 25, 1957, in Grand Rapids, Mich.,. Evelyn was employed at St. Vincent Hospital for over 20 years until her recent illness. She was a member of St. Philip the Apostle Parish.
She is survived by eight children: Sandy Smith, Pat Smith, Jr., Mich.,ke (Alice) Smith, Brian Smith, Kevin (Denise) Smith, Sean (Loretta) Smith, Diane (Tony) Taylor, all of Green Bay, Ryan (Amber) Smith, Stoughton; grandchildren: Shane, Shaunna, Brett, Chad, Cassandra, Amanda, Erin, Kevin, Jenna, Brent, Jacob and Ryan; father of the children, Pat Smith, Green Bay; many other relatives.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Bill Britt, one sister, Diana Bainbridge, and one granddaughter, Alexandra. Friends may call at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home & Crematory, 1630 E. Mason St. from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday and after 9:30 a.m. Monday until the cortege leaves for church. Parish wake service 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church with Rev. Larry Canavera officiating. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a memorial fund has been established in Evelyn's name. Evelyn's family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff of Bellin Hospital, especially the Advanced Care Unit.
