Bruno Bernard Bietka, Age 80, of Springstead, died Monday June 19, 2000 at Flambeau Hospital in Park Falls. He was born on November 30, 1919 in Ashland, the son of Frank and Rose (Swider) Bietka. His early life and schooling were in Ashland. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving during WWII. On June 5, 1948 he married Ruth Grudzielanek in Milwaukee. Mr. Bietka was a Maintenance Supervisor at the Allen-Bradley Company in Milwaukee for many years until his retirement in 1978. After his retirement the couple moved to Springstead. He was a volunteer for the Springstead Fire Department.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday June 22, 2000 at 10:00am from St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Park Falls. Fr. James Jackson will officiate.

Burial will follow at Nola Cemetery in Park Falls, with military rites under the auspices of the Park Falls American Legion and VFW Posts.

A visitation will be held at the Novitzke Funeral Home – Park Falls on Wednesday June 21, 2000 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm with a parish prayer vigil at 7:00pm.

Gordon L. Bodoh, Age 75, of Park Falls, died Wednesday July 21, 1999 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield. He was born on July 13, 1924 in Fond du Lac, the son of Urvie and Gladys (Warner) Bodoh. His early life and schooling were in Fond du Lac, he then attended Pre Med. School in Toronto, Canada. He then served his country in the United States Army Medical Corp during WWII and later joined the National Guard and served during the Berlin Crisis. He returned to Fond du Lac after serving in the Army and then attended the University of Wisconsin – Madison. On March 21, 1946 he married Irene M. Longest in Fond du Lac. The couple owned and operated a tavern in Fond du Lac. He then moved to Oshkosh and worked for Central Construction before starting his own firm, Bodoh Construction Company. He then moved to Park Falls in 1966 and worked for C.R. Meyer Construction Company for 27 years retiring in 1986. Mr. Bodoh and his wife Irene divorced and he later married Rosemary Fletcher on April 21, 1979 in Oshkosh. He was a very active member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Park Falls, a 4th degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus, a lifetime member of the American Legion, VFW, the 40-8, and was very active in local government, serving as the Eisenstein Town Chairman, and a member of the Price County Board, serving as Vice Chairman.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Bruce Bodoh, his grandson Bruce-Jene Bodoh, and (2)brothers Gene and Scotty Bodoh.

Funeral services will be held on Monday July 26, 1999 at 10:30am from St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Park Falls. Fr. John Slowey will officiate.

A visitation will be held on Sunday July 25 at the church from 5:00pm until 8:00pm with a Knights of Columbus Prayer Service at 7:00pm.

Burial will take place on Tuesday July 27, 1999 at 1:00pm at St. Charles Cemetery in Fond du Lace, with graveside prayers offered by Fr. Carr.

Edwin A. “Ted” Boness Age 88, of Butternut, died Tuesday December 28, 1999 at his home. He was born on June 26, 1911 in Butternut, the son of August and Margaret (Spranger) Boness. He was a lifetime resident of the Butternut Area. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Army Infantry in anti-tank and as an interpreter in the European Theater. He was a dairy farmer and a logger. On November 21, 1970 he married Lisa Volland. Mr. Boness was a Mason, a Royal Arch Mason, a York Rite Mason, a Royal Select Mason, a Knights Templar, a Scottish Rite Mason, a 32nd Degree Shriner, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and the Flambeau Clowns. He was also a former Town of Lake Supervisor & town chairman and a past Post Commander for the Butternut American Legion.

His sister-in-law Emma Boness , all of Butternut

And nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, (2)brothers: Rufus and Arno, and (1)sister Elsie Hinterberg.

Funeral services will be held on Friday December 31, 1999 at 3:00pm at the Novitzke Funeral Home Chapel – Park Falls.

A visitation will be held on Friday from 2:00pm until the hour of the service at the funeral home.

Carl F. Bortz Age 73, of Butternut, died Tuesday November 28, 2000 at his home in Butternut. He was born on May 19, 1927 in Butternut, the son of Herman and Viola (Tesch) Bortz. His early life and schooling was in Butternut. After his schooling he served his country in the United States Army. On April 7, 1951 he married Caroline Pritzl in Park Falls. The couple resided in Butternut. Mr. Bortz was a crane operator for C.R. Meyer Construction Company and operated a private dairy farm.

He was preceded in death by his father Herman, his wife Caroline in 1997, his son Carl Bortz Jr. in 1976, (2)brothers: Eldon and infant Ralph Bortz.

Funeral services will be held on Friday December 1, 2000 at 10:00am from St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Butternut. Rev. John A. Deitz will officiate.

Burial will follow at Butternut Union Cemetery in Butternut, with Military Rites under the auspices of the Butternut American Legion.

A visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at the Novitzke Funeral Home in Park Falls and on Friday from 9:00am until the hour of the service at the church.

Vincent J. Boyer Age 61, of Park Falls, died Thursday March 18, 1999 at his home. He was born on June 5, 1937 in Park Falls, the son of Wenzel and Anna (Kraemer) Boyer. His early life and schooling were in Fifield. After graduating high school he entered the United States Marine Corps, where he served from 1955 to 1963 during which he served as a radio operator and a pilot. He then moved to Illinois where he married Linda A. Fetzer on May 22, 1965. Mr. Boyer lived in the Chicago area until 1983 when he moved to Allentown, PA where he was a Theatrical Lighting Engineer and owned and operated Specialty Lighting. He came to Park Falls in 1996. He was a member of the Fifield American Legion and was an avid pilot and member of the Civil Air Patrol.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday March 23, 1999 at 10:00am from St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Fifield, WI. Fr. Al Ebach will officiate.

Burial will follow at Forest Home Cemetery in Fifield, WI with military rites under the auspices of the Fifield American Legion.

A visitation will be held at the Novitzke Funeral Home – Park Falls, WI on Monday March 22, 1999 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm with a Parish Prayer Vigil at 7:00pm.

Mary Pritzl-Bruch Age 99, of Park Falls, died Friday May 26, 2000 at Park Manor Nursing Home in Park Falls. She was born on January 5, 1901 in Germany, the daughter of John and Pauline (Treml) Ernst. Her early life and schooling were in Butternut. On June 7, 1920 she married Alois Pritzl, who preceded her in death in 1962. She married Charles Bruch on November 7, 1964. Charles preceded her in death in 1988. Mrs. Bruch was a homemaker and cook for various logging camps and worked on the family farm. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, the Christian Women, the Senior Club, and a former Girl Scout Troop Leader. She was also an avid bowler, gardener, and enjoyed fishing.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Alois in 1962, her second husband Charles in 1988, her sister Bertha Kronberger, and (4)brothers: John, Bill, Ferdy, and Max Ernst.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday May 31, 2000 at 10:00am from St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Park Falls. Fr. James Jackson will officiate.

Burial will follow at Nola Cemetery in Park Falls.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 9:00am until the hour of the service at the church.

Phillip S. Buchert Age 65, of Park Falls, WI, formerly of Crystal Lake, IL, died Thursday November 18, 1999 at Flambeau Hospital in Park Falls, WI. He was born on September 24, 1934 in Genoa City, WI, the son of Walter and Vivian (Katzenberg) Buchert. His early life and schooling were in Crystal Lake, IL. On June 16, 1961 he married Jacqueline Dermont in Crystal Lake. Mr. Buchert was a veteran of the United States Army and the Superintendent of the City of Crystal Lake, IL. The couple came to Park Falls in June of this year.

He is survived by his wife Jackie of Park Falls, (4)children: Jodi Buchert of Butternut, Gary Buchert and Kevin Buchert, and Jeff (Theresa) Buchert all of Park Falls, WI, his sister Sheila (Dan) Cox, of Las Vegas, NV, and nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his infant daughter Kristen.

A private family service will take place at a later date.

The Novitzke Funeral Home – Park Falls, WI is handling the arrangements.

Cletus G. Buescher Age 84, of Fifield, died Tuesday June 22, 1999 at Flambeau Hospital in Park Falls. He was born on November 8, 1914 in St. Nicholas, MN, the son of John and Ann (Schmitz) Buescher. He came to Fifield in 1917. Mr. Buescher was a mechanic and the co-owner/operator of Buescher Bros. Garage in Fifield. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his brother Linus Buescher of Fifield, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his infant brother Carl.

Funeral services will be held on Friday June 25, 1999 at 10:00am from St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Fifield. Fr. Clement Sobr will officiate.

Burial will follow at Forest Home Cemetery in Fifield.

A visitation will be held at the Novitzke Funeral Home – Park Falls on Thursday June 24, 1999 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm with a Parish Prayer Vigil at 7:00pm.

Mark William Bukachek Age 45, of Park Falls, died Friday December 22, 2000 at his home. He was born on December 28, 1954 in Park Falls the son of William and Margaret (Bougard) Bukachek.

A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 12:00pm until the hour of the service.

Burial will take place at Forest Home Cemetery in Fifield.
