Kenneth Dunkel
1929-2008
Kenneth "Sarge" W. Dunkel, 78, Rib Lake, died Friday, March 21 at his residence. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 27 at 6 p.m. at Dallmann-Kniewel Funeral Home in Rib Lake. At the conclusion of the evening service, he will be honored with a full military service conducted by the Lehman-Clendenning American Legion Post No. 274 of Rib Lake. Interment will be held at a later date.
Kenneth Dunkel was born July 6, 1929 in the Town of Holway to George and Minnie (Larson) Dunkel. He attended Green Grove Graded School. After graduating from grade school he worked on the family farm, then at the age of 17 enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served for 24 years. He achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant.

Dennis Jensen
1939-2008
Dennis Allen Jensen, 68, Ogema, died Saturday, March 8, 2008 in Tucson, Ariz., after a courageous battle with cancer. Memorial services are being planned for later this spring.
Dennis Jensen was born May 31, 1939 in Whittlesey to the late Earl and Lillian Jensen, and was raised in Rib Lake. He served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He worked in general aviation electronics and in 2000 opened Jensen Calibration, a tool calibration lab, in Ogema.

William Beintker
1917-2008
William "Bill" F. Beintker, 90, Medford, died Friday, March 14 at Memorial Nursing Home in Medford. No services will be held.
Hemer Funeral Home of Medford assisted the family with arrangements.

Thomas Hines
1927-2008
Thomas W. Hines, age 80, of North Hudson, passed away unexpectedly on March 13, 2008. He was born on May 12, 1927 in San Francisco, Calif., to Thomas and Grace (Carroll) Hines. He was raised in Madison and attended catholic and public schools there, and the University of Wisconsin. He served in the United States Navy during World War II from May 25, 1945 to June 3, 1946.

Daniel Harris
1946-2008
Daniel James Harris, 62, Belvidere, Ill., died peacefully Sunday, March 16 in Park Strathmoor Nursing Home, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 20 at 11 a.m. at Buck-Wheeler-Hyland Funeral Home of Belvidere, with Rev. Lisa Kruse-Safford of Poplar Grove United Methodist Church, officiating.

William Bohn
1946-2008
William "Bill" E. Bohn, 61, Athens, died Thursday, March 13 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital, where he was taken earlier by ambulance. Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 18 at Hemer Funeral Home in Medford, with Deacon Joseph Stefancin officiating, and military rites performed by Medford Military Honors Team.

Frank Berndt
1923-2008
Former Town of Molitor resident Frank E. Berndt, 84, Wausau, died Tuesday, March 18 at Wellington Place residential facility in Wausau, where he had resided the past five weeks, while under Aspirus Comfort Care Hospice. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 22 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Medford, with Rev. Peter Warmanen officiating. Interment will be at Medford Evergreen Cemetery II. Pallbearers are Gene and Larry Lange, Jim LaFontaine, Jim Berndt, Steven Jaecks and Denny Acker.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 21 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Hemer Funeral Home in Medford, and at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

Donald Brown
Donald R. Brown, 77, Ponce Inlet, Fla., died Friday, Feb. 1 at his home, with his wife by his side. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 15 at 2 p.m. at St. Dunstan's Episcopal Church in Madison.

Isabell Moyer
1928-2008
Isabell L. Moyer, 80, Medford, died Saturday, March 8 at Memorial Health Center in Medford, where she had been a patient for the past day. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 13 at 11:30 a.m. at Hemer Funeral Home in Medford, with Rev. Peter Warmanen officiating. Interment will be at Perkinstown Community Cemetery. Pallbearers are Russ and Tyler Warner, Renee, Sami and Al Mallo and Eddie Paul-Neubauer.

William Sorensen
1948-2008
William "Bill" W. Sorensen, 59, Green Bay, passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2008 at a local nursing home. Bill was born on August 10, 1948 in Chicago, Ill., the son of the late William and Lillian (Trojan) Sorensen. He was a graduate of Round Lake High School in Illinois. He served his country as a corporal during the Vietnam War in the United States Army with the 111th Artillery. On July 29, 1972 he married the former Kristine Baier at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Round Lake.

Irma Sukup
1922-2008
Irma "Jenny" Sukup, 85, Milwaukee, died Monday, March 3.
The former Irma Zuleger was born July 25, 1922 in Medford to the late Frank Carl and Anna Barbara (Frey) Zuleger. She attended the Frey School and graduated from Medford High School.
She moved to Milwaukee and married Edward Sukup. She worked at various jobs to help support the family.

Brooks Conrad
1920-2008
Brooks Conrad, a former 38-year captain with Pan American Airways, died March 3, 2008 of complications from renal failure at his home. He was 88 years old. At retirement he moved to Stuart, Fla. from Key Biscayne, Fla. in June 1980 and to Winter Haven, Fla. in 2005.

Clara Schaefer
1924-2008
Clara E. Schaefer, 84, Medford, died Friday, Feb. 22 at Memorial Nursing Home in Medford. Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 25 at Peace United Church of Christ in Dorchester, with Rev. Robert L. Everhard officiating. Burial was at Dorchester Memorial Cemetery.
Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home of Dorchester assisted the family with arrangements.

Sophie Lew
Former Thorp resident Sophie A. Lew, 87, Wausau, died Monday, March 3 at Wausau Aspirus Hospital. Funeral services were held Thursday, March 6 at St. Mary's Polish National Catholic Church in Lublin. Entombment was at Calvary Cemetery in Eau Claire.
Thorp Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.

Dennis Kalmon
1938-2008
Dennis Kalmon, 69, Houlton, died Friday, Feb. 29. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday, March 4 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Stillwater, Minn. Interment was at St. Michael's Cemetery in Bayport, Minn.
Simonet Funeral Home of Stillwater assisted the family with arrangements.
