David (Dave) R. Sweetland
David (Dave) R. Sweetland, of Waukesha, born to eternal life on Friday, July 13, 2001, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at the age of 73.

Beloved husband of Beverly (nee Graser) for 46 years. Dear father of Todd Sweetland and Beth VanderHyden. Loving grandpa of Allison and Megan Sweetland, Samantha and Cody VanderHyden. Also survived by brothers: Beverly (Genny) Olin of Fort Myers, FL, Larry (Lila) of West Bend, WI; sisters: Betty (Bob) Jones of Naples, FL, Lillian Joanne (Bob) Jonas of Waukesha, WI, and Sue Arndt of Menomonee Falls, WI.

Dave was born in Battle Creek, Michigan on July 1, 1928, the son of Olin and Lillian (nee Wegner) Sweetland. He worked at Alloy Products Corp. for many years and retired from there in 1993. He loved fishing, football, baseball, reading and watching his grandchildren. He enjoyed spending time with his many friends and family. He was especially close to his friend and brother-in-law, Kenny Graser. He will be missed by his many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, mother and brother Roger.

The funeral service for Dave will be Wednesday, July 18, 2001, at 11 a.m. at Ascension Lutheran Church, 1415 Dopp St., Waukesha, Rev. James Bickel officiating. The visitation will be on Tuesday, July 17, 2001, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha and on Wednesday, July 18, 2001, from 10 a.m. at Ascension Lutheran Church until the time of the funeral service. Burial will immediately follow at Prairie Home Cemetery in Waukesha, WI. Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home is serving the family. For more information please call 262-542-6609.

Gerald A. Lenhardt
Gerald A. Lenhardt, lifelong resident of Waukesha, died on Thursday, May 24, 2001 at Oak Hill Terrace at the age of 70 years.

He was born on Aug. 30, 1930 in Waukesha, WI, the son of Clarence and Rhea Lenhardt. Gerald proudly served in the U.S. Army and enjoyed hunting and fishing and the outdoors.

Gerald is survived by his children: Cindy (Don) Pannemann of Waukesha and Brad (Marianne) Lenhardt of Mukwonago Six grandchildren: Derek, Ryan, Sara, Elizabeth, Cody and Garret, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

The committal service for Gerald will be Thursday, May 31, 2001 at 1:30 p.m. at Prairie Home Cemetery (please meet in front of the cemetery office). Rev. James Bickel officiating. Memorials would be appreciated to the Timberwolf Preservation Society, 6669 S. 76th, Greendale, WI 53129 or the Audubon Society of Milwaukee, W61 N620A Mequon Avenue, Cedarburg, WI 53012.

Adeline E. (Addie) Crouse
Adeline E. (Addie) Crouse, of Waukesha, born on January 3, 1931 in West Allis, the daughter of Al and Mabel (nee Steele) Bucholtz, died on Sunday, September 2, 2001 at her cherished Camelot Lake Home in Nekoosa, WI at the age of 70 years.

She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church. She worked at the Northview School as a teachers aide and at the Women's Ob-Gyn Care in Waukesha. She had been very active in her church.

She will be sadly missed by her children; Susan (Tom) Senn of Oconomowoc, Cindy (Bill) Rossman of Waukesha and Don (Yolanda) Crouse Jr. of Waukesha. She was the beloved grandmother of Michelle Senn, Melinda Senn, Michael Senn, Billy Rossman, Lindsey Rossman, Donnie Crouse III and Jessica Crouse and her dog Shotzie. She is further survived by other relatives and friends, especially her sister Gwen Crouse of Waukesha. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Donald Crouse Sr. in 1984.

Funeral services for Adeline will be Thursday, September 6, 2001 at 7:00 pm at the St. Mark's Lutheran Church. Pastor James Wilch will officiate. Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 5:00 pm until time of service. Entombment will be on Friday, September 7, 2001 at Prairie Home Cemetery at 10:00 am. Meet at the cemetery.

Chester (Chet) Huntington
Chester (Chet) Huntington, 73 of Waukesha, lost his long battle with Parkinson's Disease on Wednesday, June 20, 2001 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born June 9, 1928 in Green Bay, WI, the son of Chester and Elizabeth (nee Price) Huntington.

Chet worked for many years at the Butler Bin Co. starting there as a draftsman and progressing upward as an electrical engineer where he headed the department and has a patent for water feed control systems for concrete mixers to his credit. He then worked for Rexnord in New Berlin and Envirex in Waukesha as an Electrical Systems Engineer.

Chet enjoyed long walks and runs. Cross Country skiing occupied the winter months and he successfully completed several Kortelopet races at the American Birkebeiner. He was a lifelong fan of the Green Bay Packers and a season ticket holder for 45 years.

Chet will be sadly missed by his wife of 50 years, Anita. Daughter Debra (Ken) Creighton of Waukesha, son Craig (Ann) of Brookfield, grandchildren: Bryan, Sarah, David and Daniel Ellenberger of Waukesha. He will also be missed by many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his son, David, his sister, Betty Hartl and his parents.

The family would like to thank the caregivers of Rolland Nelson-Crossroads Hospice, especially Bonnie, Laurie and Cathy. Also thanks to his friends at St. Lukes for their many prayers. Memorials to the Hospice or St. Luke's Church would be appreciated.

Carl Taylor
Carl Taylor, died peacefully in his sleep at the Avalon Manor on September 22 at the age of 95 and has been joyfully reunited in Heaven with his wife, Alma, who died five years ago and their first son Raymond who died at the age of two in 1929.

Carl was born in a sod house on an Indian Reservation in Oklahoma Territory in 1905. He worked his way through high school and college, married Alma Neely in 1926, and moved to Wisconsin to become a professor of speech at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. Later he became the Executive Director of the Wisconsin Building and Loan League.

In 1937 he bought a dairy farm near Waukesha. In 1944 he founded the Waukesha State Bank, serving as president until retirement in 1969. It gave him great satisfaction to help people buy their homes, send their children to college, and start their businesses.

Very active in civic organizations, he served as president of the Waukesha Kiwanis Club, the Waukesha Chamber of Commerce, and the Waukesha YMCA. A staunch Democreat-turned-Republican, he led the statewide Taft-for-President organization and chaired the Wisconsin delegation at the 1952 Republican National Convention.

A noted public speaker promoting individual liberty and free markets, for many years he was on a retainer for General Motors.

He was an elder in the First Presbyterian Church of Waukesha, and for many years he filled the weekend pulpits of two small Presbyterian churches near Portage.

Taylor will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Velma (David Sr.) Geraldson and his son Don (Carol); his granddaughters Sally (Chris) Scott, Ann (Mark) Rhodes, Wendy (David) Kipperman, and Jenifer (James) Schroeder; his grandsons David Jr. (Nadine) Geraldson, Carl (Jane) Geraldson, Eric (Molly) Geraldson, Scott (Nancy) Taylor and Ty Taylor; and his great-grandchildren Benjamin, Caroline and Laura Scott; Kerry, Joe, Nick, Martin and Holly Geraldson, Kjersti and Anson Rhodes; Taylor and Adam Geraldson; Heather and Ashley Florian; John and Abigail Schroeder; and David and Benjamin Taylor.

To celebrate the life of Carl Taylor, family and friends are invited to the First Presbyterian Church at 810 N. East Avenue in Waukesha on Wednesday evening, October 10. A 4:00 pm reception for family and friends will be followed by a 7:00 pm memorial service. Burial will be at Prairie Home Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial gifts to the Presbyterian Homes Foundation or to the Waukesha Salvation Army.

Charles P. Wallschlaeger
Charles P. Wallschlaeger, born January 17, 1924 in Waukesha, the son of Henry and Lillian (nee Gabel) Wallschlaeger, died on Wednesday, July 4, 2001 at the Virginia Health Care Center at the age of 77 years.

He worked for the City of Waukesha and was a member of the Eagles Club. He was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church.

He will be sadly missed by his daughter, Karen (Keith) Fuchs of Waukesha, his brothers, Louis (Jean) Wallschlaeger of Milwaukee and Roland Wallschlaeger of Waukesha, his sisters Hazel Lubbey of Milwaukee, Mabel (Dave) Michaelis of Waukesha and Gladys (Bill) Spielger of Sussex, his granddaughter, Patricia (Ryan) Kohlman of Waukesha, his grandson, Gregory Fuchs of Waukesha, his great granddaughter, Brittany, his brother-in-law, Paul Nelson of Colorado also other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Viola, his sisters, Lucille Fritz, Lorraine Nelson and Lois, his brother, William and sister-in-law, Lorraine.

Funeral services for Charles will be Sunday, July 8, 2001 at 7:00 pm at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home on Moreland. Pastor Rod Resheske will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 4:00 pm until time of service. Entombment will be in Wisconsin Memorial Park on Monday, July 9, 2001 at 10:00 am meet at the cemetery. Bernice Schutte
Bernice Schutte, age 98 of Waukesha died Friday November 30, 2001 at the Virginia Health Care Center in Waukesha.

Bernice was born November 9, 1903 in Kalamazoo, Michigan daughter of the late Rollin and Sarah (nee Goodrich) Hopkins. Bernice had been a nurse at Mt. Sinai Hospital and the Public Health Department in Milwaukee. She had lived in Oak Hill Village in Waukesha for 10 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Schutte, M.D. in 1981 and her brother, Donald Hopkins.

Bernice is survived by her children: Thomas (Dorothy) Schutte of Mukwonago, Wisconsin, Mary (Warren) Donovan-Popa of Oak Creek, Wisconsin and Sarajane (Mark) Peters of Denver, Colorado, her 10 grandchildren: Christopher Schutte of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Gregory Schutte of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Vickie Donovan of Washington, D.C., Joseph Donovan of Waukesha, Wisconsin, Shawn Donovan of Waukesha, Wisconsin, Scott (Sherri) Donovan of Waukesha, Wisconsin, Steve (Becky) Donovan of Eagle, Wisconsin, Jane (Roger) Wahtley of Denver, Colorado, Anthony Peters of Winter Park, Colorado, and Brian Peters of Durango, Colorado. She is also survived by her four great grandchildren: Scotty and Sammi Jo Donovan of Waukesha, Wisconsin and Paulina Ciurro of Eagle, Wisconsin and Sydney Wahtley of Denver, Colorado along with her two sisters-in-law: Marge Schutte of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Ruth Hopkins of Waukesha, Wisconsin. She will be missed by Pauline and all her many other friends of Bill W. along with other relatives and friends.

The Mass of Christian Burial for Bernice will be Thursday December 6, 2001 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church (822 N. East Avenue) in Waukesha. Father Michael Michalski will be the celebrant of the mass. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Friends may call at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home (237 N. Moreland Blvd.) on Wednesday December 5, 2001 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A parish vigil will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. On Thursday, December 6, please meet at the church at the time of the mass. The family is grateful to Larry, Julie, Cindy, and all the many loving caregivers at the Virginia Health Care Center in Waukesha and the Odyssey Hospice.

Carl Conrad Thomas
Carl Conrad Thomas, lifelong resident of Waukesha, died on Monday, Dec. 10, 2001 at home at the age of 73 years. Carl dedicated his life to the Ethan Allen School for Boys and the Waukesha Civic Theatre.

Carl will be sadly missed by his sisters: Bertha Gretenhardt of Waukesha Anna (Robert) Beske of Waukesha and Gertrude Vogt of Montana his brother: Daniel (Merillyn) Thomas of Hartland Further survived by other relatives and many friends.

The funeral service for Carl will be Friday, Dec. 14, 2001 at 12:00 Noon at the Funeral Home. Rev. Daniel Schowalter officiating. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the noon service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials are appreciated to the Waukesha Civic Theatre or the Ethan Allen School for Boys. Interment will be in Prairie Home Cemetery, Waukesha, WI.

Eugene Paulus (Gene) Neshek
Waukesha resident, Eugene Paulus (Gene) Neshek, was born into eternal life on Sunday, December 9, 2001 at the age of 75 years.

He was born September 23, 1926 in Coleman, Wisconsin a son of the late Paul and Emma (nee Salewski) Neshek. He graduated from Coleman High School in 1944. Eugene proudly served his country in the U.S. Army as a Technical Sergeant from January 27, 1945 to May 21, 1946. He received the American Theater Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal. On August 5, 1950, he married Dolores Jerzy in Pound, Wisconsin. He had worked for American Motors in Milwaukee and then went to work for the Milwaukee Sentinel. He retired as the Sales and Circulation Manager at the Milwaukee Journal/ Sentinel in 1989, after 29 years of service. He had worked in the paper business for 34 years. After retirement, he enjoyed winters in Florida and summers in Phillips at the summer cottage. He is a member of First Baptist Church in Waukesha and the Disabled American Veterans.

Eugene was preceded in death by his parents, his granddaughter: Melissa Fry, and his Twin Brothers: Russell and Ralph.

He is survived by his wife: Dolores Neshek of Waukesha, his six children: Karen (Michael) Franklin of West Allis, Wisconsin, Sharon (John) Fry of Waukesha, Wisconsin, Eugene (Paula) Neshek of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, Sandra Meade of Waukesha, Wisconsin, Jonathan (Linda) Neshek of Merton, Wisconsin, and Michael (Jodi) Neshek of Waukesha, Wisconsin. He is also survived by his 14 grandchildren: Jennifer Burns, Robert Burns, Katie Teran, Angela (Jim) Dudley, Patrick Neshek, Paul Neshek, Jacob Neshek, Jonathan Meade, Amanda Meade, Emma Neshek, Alison Neshek, Taylor Neshek, Megan Neshek, Calli Neshek, and Jessica Franklin, three great grandchildren: Adrianna Teran, Anthony Teran, and Jacob Dudley. He is also survived by his brother: Harold Neshek of Black Creek, Wisconsin, his sister: Monica Rymer of Crivitz, Wisconsin, along with his sisters-in-law: Marge Neshek of Menasha, Wisconsin, Patricia (Sam) Catarella of Barefoot Bay, Florida, and June Jerzy of Milwaukee, Wisconsin along with other relatives and friends.

The funeral service for Eugene will be Thursday December 13, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home on Moreland Blvd. in Waukesha. Reverend George Stillman, of First Baptist Church in Waukesha will be the officiant. Burial will be in Prairie Home Cemetery in Waukesha. Friends may call at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home on Wednesday December 12, from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 p.m. and also on Thursday December 13, 2001 from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at 10:00 a.m. A prayer service will be Wednesday at 7:30 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Rolland D. Nelson/ Crossroads Hospice (1020 James Drive Hartland, WI. 53029) or to the American Cancer Society (N19 W24350 Riverwood Drive Waukesha, Wisconsin 53188).
