Mrs. Marjorie Buchberger
Mrs. Marjorie Buchberger, 68, Oconto, died Sunday, December 3, 2000. She was born February 10, 1932 in Wausau to Walter and Helen Bembinster. On February 10, 1953, she married Wallace Buchberger in Wausau. Shortly after their marriage, the couple moved to Carribou, Maine. From there, they moved to the Washington, D.C. area, where Marjorie was employed as a research technician at John Hopkins Operations Research Center. In 1962, the couple moved to Oconto where Marjorie was employed by Oconto County highway Department as an accounting clerk. She retired from the Highway Department in 1991. Marjorie especially enjoyed going on fishing trips with her husband Wallace. She is survived by her loving husband Wallace, who will miss her deeply. Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents in 1988. Visitation will be on Thursday, December 7, 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Church. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. at the church. Father John Harper is officiating. Gallagher Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. Burial will be in Wausau at a later date.

Dean R. Schuettpelz Sr., 62, Athelstane resident, died Tuesday at at his home. He was born October 27, 1938 in Suring to the late Walter and Irene Schuettpelz. He married Joan James September 23, 1961 in Wausaukee. The couple resided in Green Bay, where he was employed by Fort Howard Paper Co. until retirement and moving to Athelstane. He was the Assistant Fire Chief and also Supervisor of Athelstane. Dean was a avid gardener, hunter and fisherman. Surviving are his wife Joan; two sons, Dean Jr. Laura Schuettpelz of Pulaski, Daniel Nicole Schuettpelz of Green Bay; two daughters, Lori Tim Krause of Wrightstown, Nicole Todd Bolssen of Green Bay; four grand-children Camryn, Colton, MacKensia and Julia; family and friends. Friends called at the Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home in Crivitz Friday 2 p.m. until time of funeral at 5:30 p.m. Rev. Richard Marcy officiated. Burial in Mount Olive Cemetery in Suring.

Ricka KrugerLane Kersten
Ricka Kruger Lane Kersten, 83, of Oconto, WI, and formerly of Fall Creek, died Monday, November 27, 2000 at her daughter's home in Oconto. She was born on February 2, 1917 to Edward and Lena Stobb Kruger in the Town of Wheaton, Chippewa County near Albertville, Wisconsin. Ricka married Enos Lane on May 15, 1935. He died in 1968. She married George Kersten in October 1973, and he also preceded her in death, in 1980. Ricka worked as a tire builder for Uniroyal Tire Company, and in the Dietary Department at Sacred Heart Hospital. She was a longtime member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church where she was the church greeter for many years and enjoyed quilting for World Relief. She also enjoyed knitting and making her krumkaka for family and friends. Survivors include three daughters, Delia (Chartrand) Beekman of Oconto, WI, Elizabeth Lane of Walton, IA, and Orva (Gary) Hegg of Olympia, WA; a brother-in-law, Ernest (Eva) Lane of Eau Claire; 10 grandchildren; 19 greatgrandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by five brothers, Emil, Walter, Rudolph, Albert, and Fredrick; five sisters, Lena, Myrtle, Olga, Matilda, and Dorothy. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 2, 2000 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Fall Creek, with Pastor Larry Borgelt officiating. Burial was in Lakeview Cemetery, Eau Claire. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home in Eau Claire handled arrangements.

Gladys Werth
Gladys Werth, 98, 4316 Hwy. 141, Abrams, WI passed away at Sharpe Care Ltd., Oconto Falls on November 28, 2000. The former Gladys Ziesmer was born May 8, 1902 at Pensaukee to the late Charles and Elizabeth Jahnke Ziesmer. As a young woman she worked at Phoenix Hosiery in Milwaukee. She married Herman Werth June 20, 1923. The couple lived in Milwaukee and owned and operated a Texaco Station in Milwaukee. Her home was always a welcome haven for relatives. Gladys loved crocheting and making crafts, always making something. Since 1996 she has been at Sharpe Care Ltd. at Oconto Falls. She is survived by a son-in-law, Melvin Bartels, Abrams; a grandson, Russell Bartels, Abrams; a special niece and Godchild, Anne Marie Lee Kasbaum and family, Pensaukee; other nieces, nephews, cousin and other relatives. Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Herman, two sons, Boyd Werth and Russell Werth; a daughter, Audean Werth Bartels; six brothers, Otto, Carl, infant Edward, Herbert, Arnold, and Raymond; two sisters, Emma Hundt and Ida Topel. Friends called at the Gallagher Funeral Home, Oconto from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday. Funeral service was 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Intern Randy Young, of First American Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial was Friday at Valhalla Memorial Park, Milwaukee.

Scott A. Rodriguez
Scott A. Rodriguez, age 35, passed away unexpectedly and peacefully November 21, 2000 at his Seattle, Washington home. Beloved son of Patricia Wann ebo Exferd and stepfather of Andy Exferd, and the late Sidney Pat Rodriguez. Brother of Judith Melvin Goldbach, Deborah Rodriguez. Steven Cindy Rodriguez and Sean Tracy Rodriguez. Grandson of the late Peter and Rose Wannebo, the late Jube Rodriguez and the late Evelyn Damanski. He is survived by his step-grandmother, Bette Jane Rodriguez. Scott was an uncle to Jonathan, Melissa, Anderea, Cody, Alexis, Alisha and Elizabeth. He is survived by a "special aunt" Sue Rapp, many aunts and uncles, cousins, step-brothers and sisters and many cherished friends everywhere. Scott, a graduate of Wabeno High School, grew up In Wisconsin. Upon graduation he joined the Army, Scott, after completing his term in the Army, settled in Seattle, where he became a prominent business owner and a community leader for the Seattle area. He was awarded Business Man of the Year in 1999 and has received numerous commendations over the years. He touched the lives of everyone he met and all who knew him. The family would like to give special recognition to his friend, Tim F., his doctor, Mary, and everyone who helped with Scott's care. A memorial service will be held in Seattle Washington. In lieu of flowers. donations may be sent in memory of Scott Rodriguez to Lambert House, PO Box 2311, Seattle, WA. 98102.

Netti P. Kowalski
Nettie P. Kowalski, 83, a former Town of Pound resident died Saturday, November 25, 2000 at Whispering Oaks Care Center, Peshtigo following a long illness. The daughter of the late Gottlieb and Martha Kobus Jashinsky was born November 5, 1917 in the Town of Pound. Nettie was married to John Kowalski on June 18, 1938 at the First Baptist Church, Pound. The couple operated a farm in the Town of Pound. John preceded her in death in October 1991. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Pound. Surviving are one son, Wayne J. Allura Kowalski of Coleman; one daughter, Judith J. David of Coleman; four grandchildren, Justin and Ross Kowalski, Brett David and Deborah Norman; one great-granddaughter, Hannah; and one brother, Roman Jashinsky of Rennes Health Center-West, Peshtigo. Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by four sisters and five brothers. Friends may call at Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home, Coleman from 1 p.m. Tuesday until the time of services. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, November 28, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Dennis Wilkinson officiating. Interment will be in the First Baptist Cemetery, Pound.

Rose Rosie Kopp Goetz
Rose Rosie Kopp Goetz, 82, Crivitz, died Friday November 24, 2000 at New Care Convalescent Center. She was born May 5, 1918 in Crivitz to the late Frank and Jenny Goltz. She married Albert Kopp in 1937; he preceded her in death in 1962. She later married Myles Goetz; he preceded her in death in 1999. Rosie worked for Frigo Cheese and Crivitz Lumber for many years. She also owned and operated Rosie's Tavern in Pound. She enjoyed having "Rosie's rummage" sales for many years. Survivors include one son, Jerome Linda Kopp, Oconto; 13 grandchildren; Roxanne Kersten, Jerome, Cindy, Dave, Jeff and Jayme Kopp, Lonnie, Lennie, and Joe Kasbaum, Lori Tonn, LuAnn Stenstrup, LeahAnn Zahorik, and LeRoy Kasbaum; 22 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Rasbornick, and Evelyn Terlecki; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by three children Ronald, Betty, and Ty Kopp; three brothers and four sisters. Relatives and friends called at the Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home, 801 George St., Crivitz from 11 a.m. Monday November 27, until time of the funeral. Funeral service was 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with Rev. Donald Burkart officiating. Burial at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.

William J. Zutter
William J. Zutter, 78, of Madison, WI, died on Thursday, October 26, 2000, at his home, 5062 Marathon Drive, Madison, WI. William was born in Oconto, Wisconsin, on July 6, 1922, the son of August and Matilda Topel Zutter. He married Beatrice Rosenfeldt on March 30, 1946. After serving in the Air Force as a pilot and flight instructor during World War II, he attended UW-Madison, graduating in 1950. Following this, he established his own engineering consulting firm in the Madison area. He is survived by his wife, Beatrice of Madison; his four children, Barbara Morris Schoenberg of Naperville, IL, Keith Margaret Zutter of Madison, Rebecca Zutter-Brose William Brose of Verona, and Daniel Zutter of St. Paul, MN; seven grandchildren; a brother, Donald Caryol Zutter of South Bend, IN, and a sister-in-law, Mrs. John Olive Zutter. A memorial service was held for friends and family on Tuesday, October 31, at Midvale Community Lutheran Church, 4329 Tokay Blvd., Madison.
