Raymond F. Hunter
Raymond F. Hunter died on Wed. May 30, 2001 at the Heartland Health Care Center in Pewaukee at the age of 86 years.

He was born on Sept. 11, 1914 in Virden, Illinois, the son of Frank and Ruth (nee Price) Hunter. Ray graduated from Catlin, Illinois High School and Illinois State Normal Teachers' College. He moved to Waukesha in 1941, coming from Milwaukee. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Waukesha for over 50 years. He was a member of the Mariners Group and the Sunday morning study group at church. He had been a past president of the Waukesha Kiwanis Club and was a very active member of the Waukesha Jaycees.

Ray was a real estate broker and appraiser and owned Ray Hunter Realty for over 30 years. He also worked for Hardy and Company in Waukesha. He was also the owner of Hunter Heating & Sheet Metal in Waukesha. Ray was an accomplished amateur photographer and did slide shows for church groups and retirement homes. He loved reading and working in the garden.

Ray is the beloved husband of Dolores (nee Schweigert), whom he married on November 30, 1939 in Milwaukee. He is the dear father of John (Jack) (Patricia) Hunter of El Paso, TX., and Meredythe Bender of Portage, WI. He is the brother of Russel (Sophie) Hunter of Gulf Shores, Al., Howard & Bernice Stibor of Milwaukee, Theresa Hunter of Atlanta and Josephine Hunter of Ocean Springs, MS. He was the loving grandfather of Carol (David) Bender Riese of Raleigh, NC ., Matthew (Charissa) Bender of Wisconsin Rapids, WI., Ty (Meghan) Bender of Milwaukee, Willard Bender of Green Bay, Raymond Bender of Green Bay, Alisa Hunter of Dallas, TX., and Zoe Hunter of Albuquerque, N.M. Ray will also be missed by his great grandchildren Joshua Mc Conochie, Michael Bender, Alex Bender and Moira Bender. Nieces, Nephews, other relatives and many friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Frank & Ruth Hunter, his twin brother Ryland Hunter, his brother Milton Hunter and his infant sister.

Funeral services will be Monday, June 4, 2001 at 12 noon at the First Presbyterian Church 810 N. East Ave. Waukesha). Friends may call on Monday at the church from 10 a.m. until time of services. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Waukesha. Memorials would be appreciated to the First Presbyterian Church. Rosamond R. (Rose) Jabs
Rosamond R. (Rose) Jabs, age 85 of Waukesha died Thursday April 4th, 2002 at the Woodland Health Care Center in Brookfield.

Rose was born April 8, 1916 in Dousman, Wisconsin a daughter of the late John and Rosa (nee Clinton) Farber. On March 15, 1957, she married Edward Jabs in Illinois. During World War II, Rose was a crane operator for Harnischfeger in Milwaukee. She then ran her own grocery store before working for Kroger Foods in Waukesha for 17 years. She loved to travel across the country with Ed, loved to garden, and was a student of the Waukesha County Technical College Upholstery Lab for many years. She was an excellent upholsterer and seamstress who did work for many of her relatives and friends. Rose also enjoyed searching for car parts and restoring old Buick's. She is a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Waukesha, the Antique Automobile Club of America, and the Buick Club of America (BCA). She was preceded in death by her parents, her two sons, one daughter, 3 brothers and one sister.

Rose is survived by her husband of 45 years, Edward Jabs of Waukesha; her two step-sons: Lee (Jane) Jabs of Evansville, Wisconsin, and Ross Jabs of Waukesha; five grandchildren: Ronald Spaulding of Pennsylvania, Barbara Claire of Portland, Oregon, Mike Spaulding of Oregon, Clifford Christianson of Atlanta, Georgia, Brad (Cindy) Christianson of Oconomowoc, and Terri (Randy) Goerke of Louisville, Kentucky; along with 11 great grandchildren, one sister-in law: Emma A Jabs of West Allis, Wisconsin; along with other relatives and friends.

The funeral for Rose will be Tuesday April 9, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Luke Lutheran Church (300 Carroll Street) The Rev. Rod Resheske will be the officiant. Entombment will be in Prairie Home in Waukesha. Friends may call on Monday April 8, 2002 from 4 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home on Moreland Blvd. and on Tuesday at St. Luke Lutheran Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00. In Lieu of flowers, memorials in Rose's name may be directed to the St. Luke Lutheran Church Building Fund.

Richard W. (Dick) Jacoby
Richard W. (Dick) Jacoby, lifelong resident of Waukesha, died Friday July 27, 2001 at home at the age of 76 years.

He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during WW II. Dick owned R. J. Pattern Works (which was started by his father) in Waukesha. He was a member of the Evangelical and Reformed United Church of Christ where he was also an usher and was a member of the Waukesha Noon Optimist Club. He loved to play tennis and enjoyed his northern vacation home.

Dick will be sadly missed by his wife: Dolores (nee Ardelt) whom he married on October 11, 1947 in Waukesha his Children: Ronald (Cynthia) Jacoby of Hixton, WI Diane (Tony) Spadanuda of New Berlin, WI Bruce (Jenny) Jacoby of Baxter, TN and Jill (Mark) Schaefer of Hartland, WI 14 Grandchildren His Sister: Ruth (Gordon) Whyte of West Bend, WI His Brother: Edward Jacoby of Holly Hill, FL other relatives and many friends. Preceded in death by his parents and his sister Lois Ann Randall.

The Funeral Service for Dick will be Monday, July 30, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. at the Ev. & Reformed United Church of Christ 413 Wisconsin Ave. Waukesha. Rev. Dan Schowalter officiating. Friends may call on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Interment will immediately follow at Prairie Home Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials are appreciated to the Rolland D. Nelson Crossroads Hospice or the Ev. & Reformed United Church of Christ. The family would like to extend their gratitude and appreciation to the nurses and staff of the Rolland D. Nelson Crossroads Hospice.

Rita F. Kusak
Rita F. Kusak, of Greenfield, born on January 19, 1931 in Milwaukee, the daughter of John and Maryanna (nee Kopczynski) Kroll, died on Wednesday, June 6, 2001 at the age of 70 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert in 1985 and a daughter, Cynthia.

She will be sadly missed by her son, Randolph (Lisa) Kusak of Rockford, IL., her daughters, Rosemary Kusak of Pewaukee and Janet (Thomas) Miller of Milwaukee, her sisters; Helen Jackowski of Milwaukee, Delores (Barney) Wroblewski of Milwaukee, her sisters-in-law; Mary Ann (Kenneth) Foertsch, Betty (Glenn) Reynolds, Leona (James) Leszcznski and brother-in-law, Frank (Christine) Kusak of South Milwaukee. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A special thanks to the staff at Clement Manor, St. Luke's Hospital and Gambro Healthcare.

The Mass of Christian Burial for Rita will be on Saturday, June 9, 2001 at 10:00 am at Clement Manor, 3989 S. 92nd Street, Milwaukee. Father Dan Murphy and Father Richard Laurick will officiate. Friends may call at Clement Manor from 9:00 am until time of service. Interment will follow in the St. Adalbert Cemetery.

Robert Nels Laws
Robert Nels Laws, born on July 6, 1913, the son of the late Joseph and Lucy (nee Nelson) Laws, died on Thursday, July 5, 2001 in Dousman.

Robert had worked as a Tool Room Machinist at the Waukesha Motor Company for 44 years, retiring in 1977. He was one of the original members of the Waukesha Flying Club having bought his first airplane, a piper cub, in 1930. He bought a second plane and continued to fly until the start of WWII. He served four years in the Navy, as an aviation mechanic, during World War II. He was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Genesee Depot. Robert was the grandson of Mr. Nels Nelson and Mrs Nels (Henrietta Gramling) Nelson, original settlers of the Dousman area.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 53 years, Anna Marie "Nancy", his daughters, Nancy Ellen and Judith Anne and a brother, Joseph "Gail" Laws. He is survived and will be sadly missed by his two sons, William Laws of Madison and Richard Laws of Dousman. He is also survived by his loving grandchildren, Sandra (Michael) Grunwaldt of New Berlin, Robert (Carol) Bralich of Waukesha, Jean (David) Muller of Carlsbad, California, a great granddaughter, Brianna Bralich, his sister-in-law, Lorraine Laws of Waukesha, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, July 9, 2001 at 10:00 am at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Hwy 83 and Hwy D in Genesee Depot. Visitation will be at the Church from 9:00 am until time of Mass. Burial will follow the Mass in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Waukesha. Masses would be appreciated.

Randolph R. Mays
Randolph R. Mays, of Pewaukee. Born on March 22, 1949 in Milwaukee, the son of Reid and Helen Mays, died on Wednesday, July 18, 2001 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at the age of 52 years.

He will be sadly missed by his wife, Kathy, his son Jason of California, his parents, his sisters, Carol (Tom) Kruse of St. Francis and Bev Worzala of South Milwaukee. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Private services were held.

Ronald J. Novak
Ronald J. Novak, 68, a lifetime resident of Waukesha, died suddenly at his winter home in North Fort Myers, Florida on May 5, 2002. Born to the late Michael and Frances (Beaster) Novak, January 18, 1934.

Loving husband to Nancy (Stolz), father to Kristy (Tim) Casey of Wauwatosa, step-father to Kelly Hintz of Waukesha and daughter Amy (Jon) Brethauer of Pewaukee. Grandfather to Andrew Casey; brother-in-law to Richard (Susan) Stolz; uncle to Laura and Rick Stolz; survived and missed by relatives and friends.

After graduating from Waukesha High School in 1953, Ron served in the U.S. Army. Upon his Honorable Discharge, he worked for the Department of Transportation as an Accident Investigator and retired after 34 years. He was also Affiliated with the Special Deputy Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department, Deputy Coroner, Waukesha County Board of Supervisors, part-time Pewaukee Police Department, Assistant Security Director, Wisconsin State Fair Park Race Track and Wisconsin Clock Club.

Cremation was performed in Florida where he will ride the winds and waves of the places he loved most.

Join us in remembering Ron at a Memorial Service at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 28, 2002 at 7:00 p.m. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to St Luke’s Cardiac Research or the American Cancer Society.

Rose M. Sobrofski
Rose M. Sobrofski, born on May 22, 1913 in Waukesha, the daughter of August and Rose (nee Buchta) Sobrofski, died on Wednesday, March 14, 2001 at the age of 87 years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was also a member of the Wisconsin Pioneer Club and Waukesha Women's Bowler's Association.

She worked as a supervisor and operator for 44 years at AT&T. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers; Matthew, Charles and William and her sister Helen (Jerry) Price.

The family of Rose would like to thank the staff of the Waukesha Memorial Hospital, Virginia Health Care Center and Odyssey Home Hospice for their kindness and care.

She will be sadly missed by her sister Catherine (George) Adler and her brother Andy Sobrofski, her niece, Mary Beth Weber, her nephew, James (Pat) Sobrofski, her great nephews; Mathew, Brian, David, Justin and Jeffrey, her great niece, Bethany, other relatives and friends.

The funeral Mass for Rose will be on Friday, March 16, 2001 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 822 N. East Ave. at 1:00 pm. Father Aurelio Perez will officiate. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 11:00 am until time of service. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Memorials are appreciated to the American Cancer Society, the Waukesha Memorial Hospital - Transportation Services or the Odyssey Home Hospice.

Sophia Elizabeth Marple
Sophia Elizabeth Marple of the Town of Delafield, infant daughter of Mark and Lynn (nee Cloud) Marple, died on Monday, April 16, 2001 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital.

She will be sadly missed by her parents; sisters, Catherine and Meredith; her grandparents, Faye and Neil Marple of Cleveland, S.C., Julia and Michael Yeary of Tyler, Texas, and Roy and Louise Cloud of Garland, Texas; aunts, uncles and other relatives.

A private service for Sophia was held at the Apostolic Life Tabernacle on Saturday April 21, 2001.
