JACQUELYN M. JOHNSON, 64, of Beloit, WI, died Tuesday, April 1, 2003 in her daughter's home in Mukwonago, WI.

She was born July 25, 1938 in Beloit, WI, the daughter of Leonard and Anne Bodi Hanson. She was adopted and raised by her uncle and aunt, Charles and Mildred Weaver.

Jacquelyn was employed by Mercy Hospital in Janesville, WI as Certified Nursing Assistant, retiring in 1997. She enjoyed gardening, swimming, flowers, shopping, her pets and grandchildren. Jacquelyn was a den mother and brownie leader. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school.

Survivors include her three children, Charles (Kathy) Johnson of Venango, PA, Lisa (Tim) Scholten of Rockton, IL, and Robyn (Dan) Dearey of Mukwonago, WI; six grandchildren, Eric Michael Johnson, Austin Charles Scholten, Alexander William Scholten, Rachael Jacquelyn Dearey, Samantha Margaret Dearey, and Shaun Daniel Dearey; two sisters, Dawn Morgan and Judy Stowers both of Beloit, WI; three brothers, Jerry (Toni) Hanson of South Beloit, IL, Ronald Hanson, and Robert Hanson both of Beloit, WI; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

She was predeceased by her parents, one sister, Darlene Rousseau, and one brother, Dennis Hanson.

Memorial services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 4, 2003 in Our Savior's Lutheran Church with the Reverend Clark Kilgard officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until the time of services Friday in the church. Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, assisted the family with arrangements.

Memorials may be given to Odyssey Hospice of Milwaukee, Beloit Regional Hospice, or Our Savior's Lutheran Church.

Lavonne M. Krafjack, 73, of Janesville, WI, died Saturday, February 12, 2005 in Mercy Hospital, Janesville, WI.

She was born May 31, 1931 in Madison, WI, the daughter of Lyle and Theo Miller Poole. Lavonne married Robert B. Krafjack on May 31, 1949 in Dubuque, IA. He predeceased her on March 10, 1974. Lavonne was employed by Durst Corporation for 28 years, retiring in 1995.

Survivors include her son, James (Linn) Krafjack of Beloit, WI; grandchildren, Corey Fritzke, Courtnie (Todd) Felger, Henry Pulcine, Karin Pulcine and Jeffry Pulcine; great grandchildren, Emilie, Katelyn, Alexandria and Logun; her father, Lyle Poole; brothers, Rick (Kim) Poole and Jamie (Laura) Poole; son-in-law, Ron Fritzke of Fort Wayne, IN; cousin Les (Marylynn) Adleman of South Beloit, IL.

She was predeceased by her mother and daughter, Kris Fritzke.

Memorial services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 19, 2005 in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with the Reverend Larry Correll officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Mt. Thabor Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services Saturday in the funeral home.

James R. Kaltenbach, 54, of Orfordville, WI, died Tuesday, February 8, 2005 in his home.

He was born on October 7, 1950 in Chillicothe, OH, the son of Robert C. and Vivian N. Comer Kaltenbach Sr. James was a 1970 graduate of Bishop Flaget High School. He was a Vietnam veteran serving in the U.S. Navy. James married Sandra 'Sandy' Hayford on September 17, 1976 in the Old Stone Church, Rockton, IL.

James was employed by Freeman Shoe, Woolworth's, Putnam Corp and the Econo Lodge in Beloit, WI.

Survivors include his wife, Sandy; children, Cindy (Gabriel) Whitehead of Brodhead, WI, Mathew Kaltenbach and Michael Kaltenbach both of Orfordville, WI; three grandchildren, Cristina, Tabitha and Rhean Whitehead; two brothers, Robert Kaltenbach Jr. and William (Pamela) Kaltenbach both of Chillicothe, OH; two sisters, Janet Kaltenbach and Judith Kaltenbach both of Chillicothe, OH; sister-in-law, Susan Hayford of Orfordville, WI; niece, Carolyn Hayford of Beloit, WI; numerous other nieces, nephews and relatives.

He was predeceased by his parents.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 12, 2005 in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with Pastor Norman Starks officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.

A memorial will be established in his name.

Clarence H. Kemnitz, 93, of Beloit, WI, died Wednesday, February 2, 2005 in Sun Valley West, Beloit, WI.

He was born December 4, 1911 in Lake Mills, WI, the son of Herman and Hattie Krueger Kemnitz. Clarence was a graduate of Beloit Memorial High School. He married Ruth M. Chamberlain on September 27, 1934 in Rockford, IL.

Clarence was employed by Beloit Daily News from 1926 until 1970. In 1971 until the early 1990's he was in the insurance business. As a young man he pitched for the city championship softball team. He was the president of the BDN Credit Union. Clarence was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and participated in the men's bible breakfast and the men's dart ball team. He loved to travel, play cards, golf and most of all he loved his family.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Ruth; two children, David (LaVonda) Kemnitz and Katherine Kemnitz both of Beloit, WI; 14 grandchildren, Phillip (Joy) Kemnitz, Randy (Linda) Kemnitz, Lori (Matt) Bell, Todd (Suzanne) Kemnitz, Toni (Jon) Yasch, Paula (Kevin) Hunt, Melissa (Jim) Graham, Michael Chieffo, Matthew Chieffo, Jesse Chieffo, Michael (Jennifer) Gyllenswan, Amber Kemnitz, Lonna (Tom) Brunner, and Mike Maher; 16 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild.

He was predeceased by his parents, son, Phillip C. Kemnitz, two sisters, Dorothy Kemnitz and Lillian Ackerman, daughter-in-law, LaVonne Lein Kemnitz.

Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, February 6, 2005 in Trinity Lutheran Church with the Reverend Edward May officiating. Burial will be 9:00 a.m. Monday in Emerald Grove Cemetery, Emerald Grove, WI. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI and from 2:00 p.m. until the time of services Sunday in the church.

Memorials may be given to the family.

Bernice Korbal, 91, of Beloit, WI died Thursday, January 27, 2005 at Sun Valley West.

She was born July 17, 1913 in St. Charles, IL, the daughter of John E. and Sarah Polglaza Hanson. She married Floyd J. Korbal on October 12, 1935 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He predeceased her on December 28, 1991.

Survivors include her son, Thomas Korbal of South Dakota; grandson, Frank Korbal.

The family of Bernice Korbal is grateful for the kindness shown and request no flowers or no memorial fund. They would rather if you would wish an act of kindness for someone in her memory.

She was predeceased by her parents, one son and a grandson.

Memorial services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 1, 2005 at Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI 53511 with Reverend Ian Stirrat officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 12:30 until time of service in the funeral home.

Charles Franklin King, 52, of Beloit, WI, died Thursday, January 20, 2005 at Beloit Memorial Hospital.

He was born March 15, 1952 in New Albany, MS the son of Leroy and Verline Pratt King. Charles graduated from the Evanston Township High School in Evanston, IL and attended Beloit College. He married Jacqueline 'Jackie' Conner on November 17, 1973 in the New Zion Baptist Church in Beloit, WI.

He confessed Christ at an early age and was superintendent of Sunday school in New Albany, MS.

Charles was a former Beloit City Council member from April 18, 1989 to April 16, 1991, was a member of the Community Development Association from April 1990 thru April 1991, he was an auxiliary Beloit Police Officer, member of the Saderfest Temptations, former Beloit Jaycee, member of the Democratic Party, formerly coached Girls Softball, Beloit Boys Club Pop Warner Football and was the Program Coordinator for the YMCA Kids at Risk program. Charles worked at General Motors Corporation for 25 years as a Supervisor until his retirement in 2003.

Survivors include his loving wife of 31 years, Jacqueline; daughter, Nichole (Lamond) Jones of Beloit, WI; son, Jason (Sara) King of Janesville, WI; granddaughters, Jaelen and Jordyn Jones of Beloit, WI and Alivia King of Janesville, WI; grandson, Elijah King of Janesville, WI; brother, Billy King of Racine, WI; niece, Flora (Kyle Hereford) King of Beloit, WI; nephews Marlon and Darnell Conner and Carlos King; two God daughters, Rosalyn Banks and Makaela Tyler

He was predeceased by his parents, grandmother, Flora Satterwhite and mother-in-law, Willie Mae Conner.

Funeral services will be 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, January 26, 2005 at the Lighthouse Fellowship Church, 112 Merrill Street Beloit, WI with Pastor Sherrick G. Anderson officiating. Burial will be held at East Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI 53511 with a Celebration of Memories at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will also be from 11:00 a.m. Wednesday until time of the service at the church.

Ardis G. Knutson, 80, of Clinton, WI died at home on Saturday, January 22, 2005.

She was born on September 9, 1924 on the Brager family farm in Springdale Township near Mt. Horeb, WI to George and Agnes (Skindrud) Brager. She graduated from high school in Mt. Horeb and attended St. Olaf College for a year. Ardis then came to the Clinton area to work and assist her uncle and aunt Rev. and Mrs Orlando Skindrud; it was at Jefferson Prairie Lutheran Church that she met Richard Knutson. They married March 23, 1946 at Springdale Lutheran Church.

Ardis worked with Richard on the family farm and also for many years as a dental assistant. She was a member of Jefferson Prairie Lutheran Church and was on the Altar Guild. Ardis was a member of the Clinton Junior Women as well as the Sons of Norway, Nordland Lodge in Janesville. Her hobbies included snowmobiling, rosemaling, reading, and baking lefse. One of her greatest pleasures was spending time with family and friends up north at the family cabin and at Marco Island, Florida.

Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Richard Knutson; sons, Craig (Julie) Knutson of Clinton, WI and Brian (Jan) Knutson of Janesville, WI; daughters, Rebecca (Lee) Lawrence of Brookfield, WI and Stephanie (Mark) Schneider of Sykesville, MD. She was also the very proud grandmother of Kyle, Kallie, and Maren Knutson, Jeffrey, Jason and Matthew Knutson, Erik and Jordan Lawrence, and Christian and Cosette Schneider.

She was predeceased by her parents and a sister, Dororthy Ann.

Funeral services for Ardis Knutson will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday January 26, 2005 at Jefferson Prairie Lutheran Church with the Reverend Thomas Groth officiating. Burial will be in East Jefferson Prairie Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI 53511

Memorials may be given in her name to Jefferson Prairie Lutheran Church.

Elizabeth Ann Kemman, 80, of Virginia Beach, VA, and formerly of Beloit, WI, died Wednesday, November 10, 2004 at Atlantic Shores Retirement Community, Virginia Beach, VA.

She was born November 21, 1923 in Rockford, IL, the daughter of Arthur and Elizabeth Mathieson Robertson. Elizabeth was a 1942 graduate of Winter Haven High School in Florida. She married John Frazier on June 10, 1943, his aircraft was lost over Burma/China the next year and he was never found. Elizabeth married Richard Kemman on July 29, 1950 in the Second Congregational Church, Rockford, IL. They were married 53 years until his death on January 10, 2004.

Elizabeth was employed by Shockley Realty, retiring in 1988. She was an active member of the First Congregational Church and the church choir until retiring to Hiawassee, GA that year.

Survivors include her children, Holly Kemman of Beloit, WI, Heath (Teresa) Kemman of Virginia Beach, VA and Herbert (Georgia Kay Henning) Kemman of Brodhead, WI; five grandchildren, Alex and Andrew Armstrong of Beloit, WI, Heather and Ryan Kemman of Virginia Beach, VA and Sunny Kemman of Beloit, WI; brother-in-law, Roger (Shirley) Kemman; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents and five brothers, Bruce, William, Donald, John and Kenneth Robertson.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 20, 2004 in the First Congregational Church in Beloit, WI with the Reverend Shawn Stapleton officiating. Burial will be East Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, November 19, 2004 in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in her name to the American Alzheimer's Association.

We would especially like to thank the staff at Atlantic Shores Retirement Community. Especially those at Harbour Way Assisted Living and the Wellness Clinic for their care, love and support. We thought of all of them as our extended family.
