Catherine Fick
A funeral service was held on Monday at Divine Word Catholic Church in Cedarburg for Luella Catherine Fick, 89, who died on Dec. 29, 1999. Fr. George Gajdos officiated at the ceremony, with arrangements handled by Mueller Funeral Home, Cedarburg. Burial was at St. Nicholas Catholic Cemetery in Dacada.
Mrs. Fick was born Jan. 25, 1910 in Port Washington, daughter of Peter and Katie (nee Hous) Leider. She married Oliver C. Fick on Nov. 11, 1936 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Dacada. She worked as a homemaker and attended Divine Word Catholic Church.
Survivors include: sons Thomas Fick of Grafton and James (Kathryn) Fick of West Bend; grandchildren Capucine "Capi" (David) Bright of Spokane, Wash., Jesse Fick of San Antonio, Jennifer Fick of Cedar Grove and Shawn Fick of Port Washington; nephew Tim Blank, Van Buren, Mo.
Further survived by other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her sister Pearl Blank.

Ted Dan Elbe
A memorial service was held on Monday at St. Cecilia Catholic Church for Ted Dan Elbe, physician and surgeon, who died on Dec. 28, 1999. Schramka-Densow Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
Dr. Elbe was a graduate of Marquette Medical School and a Zeit Fellow and a Double Paul Harris Fellow, among other accolades. In 1938 he began a medical practice in Port Washington, and took over the practice of a Thiensville physician one year later. He continued his family practice in that community until retiring in 1986.
Dr. Elbe was Thiensville’s health inspector for many years, and was elected to the Village Board in the 1950s. A decade later he was appointed to the Homestead High School Board.
Survivors include: sons Dan (Jeanne) Elbe and Chip (Jane) Elbe; daughters Kay (Jerry) Lackney and Mari (Moose); grandchildren Jeff, Mari Kay, Ted, Lisa, Chris, Laura, Danie Watt, Bill Watt, Niki and Megan; 17 great-grandchildren.
Further survived by other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife Margaret J. Elbe and grandson Dan Robert.

Amanda Thelen, 94
Amanda Thelen, nee Esselman, of West Bend, died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2000, at the Samaritan Health Center, at the age of 94.
She was born July 18, 1905, in the town of Tenton, to the late Richard and Catherine (nee Steilen) Esselman.
After her marriage to Bernard J. Thelen on Jan. 18, 1927, in Saukville, the couple lived in Port Washington and Grafton, settling in West Bend in 1975.
Bernard passed away on July 22, 1980.
Amanda loved sewing, gardening and canning. She was a member of the Women of the Moose Chapter in Saukville, Royal Neighbors of America in Saukville and the Christian Women's Confraternity at St. Frances Cabrini Church, West Bend.
Survivors include 13 children, Audrey (Andrew) Dieringer of Cedar Grove, Lois (Marvin) Anzia of Belgium, Jerry (Kay) of West Bend, Marilyn (LeRoy) Averill of Lakeland, Fla., Cliff (Marty) of Brandenburg, Ky., Charles "Bud" (Joan) of West Bend, Erla Mae (Ronald) Schneider of Seabrook, Md., Richard (Barbara) and Rita (Clete) Schneider, both of West Bend, Kathy (Don) Harmeling of Waterford, Daniel (Nancy) of Cascade, Patrick (Mary) Saukville and Mary Ann (David) Schowalter of Appleton; a son-in-law, Daniel Tedesco of Fond du Lac; 59 grandchildren; 108 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Agatha Laufer and Marie Kraus, both of West Bend; a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Weyker of Port Washington; other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death were a son, William; a daughter, Ruth Ann Tedesco; five grandchildren; and a sister, Martha Dries.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, Jan. 8, at 11 a.m. at St. Frances Cabrini Church. Fr. Jeff Haines will be the presider, and burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Saukville.
Visitation at the Schmidt Funeral Home, West Bend, will be Friday after 4 p.m. with a prayer service at 8 p.m., and also Saturday at the church only from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Heidi A. Westenberger, 51
Heidi A. Westenberger, 51, of West Bend, died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2000, at St. Joseph's Community Hospital.
She was born March 3, 1948, in West Bend, to Eugene and Norma (nee Kircher) Westenberger.
Heidi was a lifelong resident of West Bend where she attended St. Frances Cabrini Grade School, and graduated from West Bend High School.
She was an active member of the West Bend Chapter 732 Women of the Moose.
Survivors include her father, Eugene of West Bend; a brother, Peter of McFarland; two sisters, Sheryl (James) Wells of Palos Verdes Estates, Calif. and Lisa (Michael) DeLaney of West Bend; other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death was her mother, Norma, on Dec. 10, 1994.
Memorial services will be held Thursday, Jan. 13, at 11 a.m. at St. Frances Cabrini Church. Fr. Jeff Haines will be the presider, and committal services will follow in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend.
Memorials may be given to the St. Frances Cabrini School Education Fund.
The Schmidt Funeral Home, West Bend, is serving the family.

Shirley Marie Weasler, 50
Shirley Marie Weasler, nee Zosky, of West Bend, died Sunday, Jan. 2, 2000, at Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital, Wauwatosa, at the age of 50.
She was born April 27, 1949, in Peoria, Ill., to the late Albert and Marie (nee Zoghzoghi) Zosky and was an alumna of The Academy of Our Lady High School in Peoria and Marquette University, Milwaukee.
On Oct. 3, 1970, she married Anthony V. Weasler II of West Bend at St. Vincent de Paul Church, Peoria.
Shirley was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Parish, the Christian Women's Confraternity, Marquette University High School Mother's Guild, a Girl Scout leader of Troop 135, a life member of Marquette University President's Council, and a life member of the Abbot Marmion Society of Marmion Abby and Academy in Aurora, Ill.
She was also an active volunteer at St. Frances Cabrini School.
Survivors include her husband; six children, Anthony III of Milwaukee, Jill, Bethany, Marc, Joseph and Elizabeth, all at home; three sisters, Diane Normoyle of Moline, Ill., Judy (Hon. Mike) Mihm of Peoria and Renee (Bob) Bladek of Fresno, Calif.; three brothers, Thomas of Peoria, Edmund (Diane) of East Peoria, Ill. and Joseph (Susan) of Hinsdale, Ill.; her father-in-law, Anthony V. Weasler Sr. of West Bend; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death were a brother-in-law, Don Normoyle and her mother-in-law, Lucille Weasler.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Wednesday, Jan. 5, at 5 p.m. at St. Frances Cabrini Church. Father Jeff Haines was the principal presider, and burial was at 10 a.m. Thursday in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Frances Cabrini Education Fund or to Marquette University High School.
The Schmidt Funeral Home, West Bend, is serving the family.

Alice E. Schiller, 91
Alice E. Schiller, 91, nee Wilke, of Kewaskum, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2000, at St. Joseph's Community Hospital, West Bend.
She was born Dec. 13, 1908, in Elmore, to the late Carl and Mary (nee Beck) Wilke, and on Nov. 3, 1932, married David Coulter at Elmore Church, Elmore. He passed away May 21, 1963.
On March 22, 1969, she married Jerome Schiller at Peace United Church of Christ, Kewaskum. He preceded her in death on Feb. 15, 1974.
Mrs. Schiller was a member of Peace United Church of Christ in Kewaskum, and a former member of Salem United Church of Christ in the town of Wayne.
Survivors include a son, David "Leroy" (Barbara) Coulter of Kewaskum; a daughter, Marion Schuster of Fond du Lac; a brother, Henry (special friend Betty) of Antigo; a sister, June (Lloyd) Lemke of Campbellsport; a sister-in-law, Elvira Erickson of Fond du Lac; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death were a sister, Nora Wiesner; a grandson, Craig Coulter; and her son-in-law, Kenneth Schuster.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 8, at Peace United Church of Christ, Kewaskum. Rev. William Wiederanders will officiate, and burial will be at 1 p.m. on Sunday in Salem United church of Christ Cemetery, town of Wayne.
Visitation at the church only will be Saturday from 4 p.m. until the time of services.
The Miller Funeral Home, Kewaskum, is serving the family.

Glenn R. Griffith, 58
Glenn R. Griffith, 58, of West Bend, died Tuesday Jan. 4, 2000, at his residence.
He was born Nov. 28, 1941, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to the Glenn D. and Martha (nee Movinsky) Griffith, and married Lynne C. Fagel on March 7, 1975.
He served with the Marine Corps during the Vietnam era.
Glenn graduated from The State of New York University, Platsburgh, and worked at Genesis Behavioral Clinic as an A.O.D.A. counselor in West Bend.
Survivors include his wife; his mother, Martha Griffith; his children, Kari Griffith Milham, Kirsten Lynne Griffith, Aija Beth Griffith, Mark Wade Griffith, Laura Jean (Patrick) Maloney and Christopher John Griffith; a sister, Doris Griffith; nieces; nephews; many other relatives and friends..
Preceding him in death was his father, Glenn Davidson Griffith.
A memorial service will be held Friday, Jan. 7, at 4 p.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, West Bend. Pastor Oscar Kraft will officiate, and cremation will take place at Parkview Cremations of Fond du Lac.
Visitation at the church only will be Friday from 3 p.m. until the time of services.
Memorials are appreciated.

Arthur T. Ritterbusch, 85
Arthur T. Ritterbusch 85, of Mayville, died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2000, at St. Agnes Hospital, Fond du Lac.
He was born May 20, 1914, in Cheyenne, Wyo., to the late Albert and Emma (nee Rank) Ritterbusch, and married Arlene Baumann on May 8, 1954, in Cedarburg.
He was employed for Groth's Inc., Louie's Scrap Yard in Mayville and for 40 years was employed by Aronin & Son's Steel Sales and Scrap Yard in Mayville, retiring in 1982.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II with a rank of TEC 4 of HQ Co. in 705th Tank Destroyer BN. He also served from March 21, 1945 to Nov. 20, 1945, in Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe as an auto and tank mechanic, and a marksman with Carbine.
Arthur was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Cedarburg, and the Henry F. Gumm American Legion Post 486 of Jackson.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Glenn (Donna) Baumann of Mayville; three grandchildren, Pamela (Alan) Marquardt of Horicon, Daniel (Becky Fink) Baumann of Mayville and Sandra Cook of Mayville; two great-grandchildren, Jordan Marquardt and Alysa Baumann; a brother, Wallace (Gerry) of Keshena; two sisters, Alma Buth of Lomira and Linda Hahn of Grafton; two sisters-in-law, Margaret Ritterbusch of West Bend and Irma Baumann of Mayville; cousins; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death were two brothers, Herbert in 1997 and George in infancy; a sister-in-law, Lucille Guetschow, and seven brothers-in-law, Jess Leiter, Ted Buth, Len Hahn, Harold Baumann, Eugene Guetschow, Roy Baumann and Earl Baumann.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 7 at 1 p.m. at the Koepsell Funeral Home, Mayville. Rev. Geoffrey Hoy will officiate, and burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Mayville, with graveside military rites conducted by the Mayville American Legion Post 69.
Visitation at the funeral home will be Thursday from 4:30 to 7 p.m., and also on Friday from noon until the 1 p.m. service.
