Carrie A. Butschke (nee Peterson)
Carrie A. Butschke (nee Peterson) of the town of Ashippun passed away at her home on Thursday, April 27, 2000. She was 94 years old.
She was born on Sept. 14, 1905, in Rubicon, to Nels and Mary (nee Wendorf) Peterson. She married Arthur Butschke on Dec. 28, 1935 at St. Olaf Lutheran Church.
Carrie and her husband farmed in the Ashippun area. They raised chickens and sold quality poultry products until retiring in 1977. She was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church, Rubicon.
She is survived by her husband, Arthur; sons, Richard (Janet) Berger of Bradenton, Fla. and Harold (Barbara) Butschke of Oconomowoc; daughter, Karen Noble of Seattle, Wash.; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Frank and John Peterson.
Visitation was held at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, Rubicon on Saturday, April 29 from 10 a.m. until noon. Funeral services followed at the church at noon with Rev. Larry Westfield officiating. Burial at LaBelle Cemetery, Oconomowoc.
Memorials to the St. Olaf Building Fund are appreciated.
Pagenkopf Funeral Home, Oconomowoc, served the family.

Edna H. Scheer, 73
A funeral service was held Sunday at Mueller Funeral Home in Cedarburg for Edna H. Scheer, 73, who died on April 25, 2000. Rev. Dale Erickson officiated at the ceremony, with arrangements handled by Mueller Funeral Home. Burial took place at Zur Ruhe Cemetery in Cedarburg.
Ms. Scheer was born Nov. 4, 1926 in Cedarburg, daughter of Edwin and Henrietta (nee Bruss) Scheer. She played for the American Association of Girls Professional Baseball League in 1950 as a pitcher for the Rockford Peaches. She also worked in the payroll department for Jefferson Smurfit Corp. and was a former co-owner of the Cedarburg Coffee Pot. Ms. Scheer attended Immanuel Lutheran Church as well.
Survivors include: brother Ed (Audrey) Scheer of Cedarburg; nephews Gary (Sue) Scheer an Keith (Katie) Scheer, both of West Bend; nieces Jean (Dave) Mueller of Grafton and Karen (Terry) Kroening of Cedarburg.
Further survived by other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorials to the charity of the donor’s choice are appreciated.

Lester J. Heinecke, 80
Lester J. Heinecke of West Bend died on Thursday, April 27, 2000 at his residence at the age of 80 years. He was born on October 24, 1919 in Theresa to the late Emil and Elsie (nee Zimmel) Heinecke.
After his marriage to Nelda R. Koller on September 20, 1944, they settled on a farm in Kohlsville, where he and his wife farmed until the 1970s.
Then for a number of years, he was employed in maintenance at The West Bend Co. until his retirement in 1981.
His favorite pastime was working in his gardens. Lester will be remembered for the abundance of fresh-picked vegetables and the gorgeous flowers he grew every year.
Survivors include Nelda, his wife of 55 years; seven children, Dianne (Tom) Hetland of Rhinelander, Ken of West Bend, Elaine (Tim) Bong of Campbellsport, Merlin (Laurie) of Iron Ridge, Allen (Jayne) of Allenton, John of West Bend, and Jeannine (Marty) Mittelstadt of Campbellsport; 16 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; six sisters, Helen Rate of Oklahoma, Adeline Kempken of Oconomowoc, Lucille (Ray) Roecker of Fond du Lac, Bernice (Donald) Schmidt of Richfield, Mary Ann (Frank) Ewert of Neosho and Arlene (Walter) Kohler of West Bend; three sisters-in-law, Marcella Heinecke of Oconomowoc, Florence Heinecke of Kewaskum and Dorothy Heinecke of St. Anthony; a special friend, Laura Rothenbach; other relatives and friends.
Preceding him death was one son, Gerald in 1993, five brothers, Edwin, Erwin, Harry, Merlin and one sister-in-law, Agnes Heinecke.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 1, 2000 at 10:30 a.m. at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church, Kohlsville, with Rev. Steven Bode officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Angels Cemetery, West Bend . Visitation will be at the Schmidt Funeral Home, West Bend, on Sunday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., and at the church on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.

Thomas E. Michael, 50
Thomas E. Michael of West Bend died Thursday, April 27, 2000 in Las Vegas at the age of 50 years.
He was born to Edward (LaVon Mayer) Michael on July 26, 1949 in Waukesha. He married Margaret "Marge" (nee Wiedmeyer) on August 4, 1984 at St. James Episcopal Church.
He attended Waukesha High School graduating with the class of 1967. He then attended the University of Wisconsin-Stout graduating in 1974 with a bachelor's degree in science.
He taught at Moraine Park Technical College in West Bend for 20 years and then became associate dean for two years and has been the dean of manufacturing technologies and apprenticeship for four year.
He was a member of Masonic Lodge F&AM of WI #138, former Junior Warden in the church with his wife, he was a Junior Girl Scout Leader for Troop #28 in West Bend.
He enjoyed traveling, race cars, camping, theatre and cooking.
Survivors include his mother LaVon Raymond of Baileys Harbor; his wife Margaret; two children, Brian and Michelle Michael both of West Bend; four sisters, Linda Sklenar of Appleton, Diana Nikas of Long Beach, CA, Cynthia (Keith) Klein of Menomonee Falls, Barbara (Daniel) Bonville of Waukesha; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edward.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 3, 2000 at 7 p.m. at St. James Episcopal Church, Eighth and Walnut, West Bend with the Rev. Martha Berger officiating.
Interment of ashes will take place at St. James Episcopal Church in the Columbarium.
Visitation will be at the church from 3 p.m. until the services on Wednesday, May 3.
Memorials are appreciated to the American Heart Association or St. James Episcopal Church.
The Phillip Funeral Home, West Bend, is serving the family.

Gertrude E. Mann, 79
Gertrude E. Mann, 79, formerly of Campbellsport, died Sunday, April 30, 2000, at the Samaritan Home, West Bend.
She was born in Germany to the late Max and Anna (Hohmann) Krautz, and married Harry Mann on Nov. 14, 1942, in Holton, Maine.
She worked at Gilbert Shoe Factory in Campbellsport and then at Mallard Coach in West Bend until retiring.
Later she, along with her son and daughter-in-law, operated Mann Floral in Campbellsport for a number of years.
She was a former member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Campbellsport.
Survivors include two sons, Gerald (Sarah) of West Bend and Michael (JoAnne) of Iowa City, Iowa; three grandchildren, Mark of Campbellsport, Edward of West Bend and Ginger (Hagen) Kirk of Iowa City, Iowa; a grandson-in-law, Michael LaDuke of West Bend; two great-granddaughters, Sarah and Amelia; other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death was her husband in 1960; a granddaughter, Susan LaDuke, and a brother, Gerhard.
Family services will be held on Wednesday, May 3 at 4 p.m. at the Twohig Funeral Home, Campbellsport. Rev. Daniel Kelm will officiate, and burial will follow in Union Cemetery, Campbellsport.
Visitation at the funeral home will be Wednesday from noon until the time of services.
Memorials may be directed to St. John's Lutheran Church, West Bend.

William 'Rod' Tronecker, 65
William R. "Rod" Tronecker, 65, of Slinger passed away on Thursday April 27, 2000, in Columbia County as a result of an auto accident.
He was born July 27, 1934, in New York, to the late William and Lucille (nee Ryerss) Tronecker, and married Karen Schumacher.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Ruth Schoen; three sons, Richard, Randall and Rodney Tronecker; three stepchildren, Albert (Kim), Fred and Russell (Connie) Strobel; two grandchildren; four step-grandchildren a brother, Vernon (Debra); brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Monday, May 1, at 8 p.m. at the Shimon Funeral Home, Hartford, with Rev. Thomas Feiertag officiating.
Visitation at the funeral home will be Monday from 4 to 8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family are appreciated.

Gladys A. Strook
Gladys A. Strook of Neosho passed away at Mayville Nursing Home on Saturday, April 22, 2000. She was 79 years old.
She was born on Sept. 23, 1920, in the town of Hustisford, to Alex and Ella Brendemuehl. She married Victor Strook on May 24, 1941 at their farmhouse in Hustisford.
Gladys lived most of her life in the Neosho-Hustisford area. She worked at Chrysler Marine in Hartford for 27 years. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Neosho, the Ladies Aid Society and Hustisford Senior Citizens.
She is survived by her daughters, Maureen (David) Hansen of Hartford and Carol (Howard) Wiersma of Iron Ridge; her sons, Donald Strook of Phoenix, Ariz. and Kevin Strook of Oak Creek. She is the dear grandmother of Gene Wiersma of Oconomowoc, Jan Wiersma of Iron Ridge, Michelle (Brian) Wirth of Hartford and Michael (Julie) Hansen of Mayville and loving great-grandma of Daniel Wirth and Adam and Jeremy Hansen. She is also survived by her sisters, Eldora (Elmer) Kuehl of Watertown and Mildred Fredrick of Ixonia; her brother, Willard (Lenora) Brendemuehl; her brother-in-law, Russell Nehls of Juneau; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Lorraine Nehls and her husband, Victor, who died in 1984.
Visitation was held on Monday, April 24 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Berndt Funeral Home, 136 N. Lake St., Hustisford and Tuesday, April 25 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Neosho from 1 p.m. until the time of services. Funeral services began at 2 p.m. with Rev. David Meister officiating. Interment Hustisford Cemetery.
Memorials to St. Paul's Lutheran Church or St. Agnes Hospice, Fond du Lac, would be appreciated.

Ervin C. Margelowsky
Ervin C. Margelowsky of Rubicon passed away Tuesday, April 25, 2000 at Hartford Memorial Hospital. He was 80 years old.
He was born on July 1, 1919, in the town of Rubicon, to Gustav and Elizabeth (nee Buhrow) Margelowsky.
He is survived by two brothers, Wilbur (Mary Ann) of Hustisford and Raymond (Shirley) Margelowsky of Hartford; sister, Delores (Charles) Skinner of Hartford; and brother-in-law, Elmer Kluewer of Watertown. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Adeline Kluewer; and brother, Elmer Margelowsky.
Funeral Services were held on Friday, April 28 at 7 p.m. at the Shimon Funeral Home, Hartford with Vicar Jonathan Hackbarth officiating. The family greeted relatives and friends on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Memorials to Peace Lutheran Church or American Cancer Association.
