Mary Ann D. Hagenow, 54
Mary Ann D. Hagenow, nee Haupt, 54, of Hartford, died Wednesday, May 24, 2000, at her residence.
She was born May 19, 1946, in Manitowoc, to the late Myron and Hertha (Glaeser) Haupt, and graduated in 1963 from Manitowoc Lutheran High School.
After her marriage to Gene D. Hagenow on Aug. 15, 1964, at First German Lutheran of Manitowoc, the couple lived in Sheboygan, moving to West Bend in 1977. They latter settled in Hartford, the town of Addison.
Mary Ann was a bank teller for National Exchange Bank for over 20 years.
Survivors include her husband; two children, Brian (Jackie) of Sussex and Todd (fiancee Amy) of West Bend; three grandchildren, Brandon, Samantha and Natalie; a sister, Karen (Hal) Kamke of Manitowoc; a brother-in-law, Earl Lau of New Holstein; two brothers, Glen (Ione) Haupt of Newton and Arlie (Marlene) Haupt of Cleveland, Wis.; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death were a son, Jeffrey, and a sister, Elaine.
She was a member of Shepherd of the Hills Ev. Lutheran Church of West Bend.
Funeral services will be Saturday, May 27, at 2 p.m. at Good Shepherd Ev. Lutheran Church. Pastor Daniel Luetke will officiate, and interment will follow in Washington County Memorial Park of West Bend.
Visitation at the church only will be Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of services.
Memorials to Shepherd of the Hills Ev. Lutheran Church are appreciated.

Gordon W. Scott, 72
Funeral services were held Saturday at Mueller Funeral Home, Cedarburg, for Gordon W. Scott, 72, of Fredonia, who died May 24, 2000 at St. Mary’s Hospital Ozaukee.
Services were led by members of Rose-Harms American Legion Post 355. Burial was at Zur Ruhe Cemetery, Cedarburg.
Mr. Scott was born June 19, 1927 in Iron Mountain, Mich., son of Walter and Mary Marie (nee Steckbauer) Scott.
He married Dorothy McKenney on Oct. 6, 1945 in Menominee, Mich.
Mr. Scott was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Scott, of Fredonia; daughter Julienne (Dan) Taylor of Fredonia; son David (Sharon) Scott of West Springfield, Mass.; grandchildren Tomara Hollrith, Cindy Kinzel, Scott Pipkorn, Denise Scott, Allyson, Adrienne and Erin Parrish and Mike Taylor; six great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, other relatives and friends.
Mary K. Raab, 91
Mary K. Raab, nee Rohrenbock, of West Bend, died Sunday, May 28, 2000, at the Samaritan Health Center, at the age of 91.
She was born May 28, 1909, in Munich, Germany, and came to the United States at the age of 14, settling in Altoona, Pa.
Two years later, she moved to Milwaukee.
Following her marriage to Frederic A. Raab on June 23, 1932, at Holy Cross Church in Milwaukee, the couple settled in West Bend, where she lived until the time of her death.
Her husband passed away March 28, 1978.
Mary enjoyed playing sheepshead with many of her close friends.
She was a member of the Apostolate of Suffering, the Good Samaritan Guild, the Senior Citizens Center and the Christian Women's Confraternity.
Survivors include three children, Pat (Robert) Schoenhaar and Kay (Sam) Claas, both of West Bend, and Carol (Al) Krause of Arpin; a son-in-law, James (Claire) Mara of Williams Bay; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Doris Raab of Fond du Lac; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death were a son, Thomas in infancy, a daughter, Joanne Mara, and a son-in-law, Richard Frings.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 1, at 10 a.m. at the Schmidt Funeral Home, West Bend, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Immaculate Conception Church, West Bend. Fr. Patrick Wendt will be the presider, and burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery (old).
Visitation at the funeral home will be Wednesday from 4 p.m. until a prayer vigil at 8 p.m., and also Thursday from 9 to 10 a.m.
The family has asked that memorials be given to St. Mary's Immaculate Conception Parish or to the charity of the donor's choice.
Bettie L. Immekus, 75
Bettie L. Immekus, nee Clancey, of the town of Trenton, died Friday, May 26, 2000, at St. Joseph's Community Hospital, West Bend, at the age of 75.
She was born July 23, 1924, in Viroqua, to the late Sidney and Velda Clancey, and married Ervin A. Immekus on March 23, 1963, in Waukegan, Ill.
Bettie had been employed at Serigraph, retiring after 10 years of service.
Survivors include her husband; five children, Ronald (Carol) Kiel, Barry Kiel, Dennis Kiel, Bonnie Kiel and Debra (Brett) Daniel; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
At Bettie's request, there will be no visitation or services.
The Schmidt Funeral Home of West Bend is serving the family.
Ronald W. 'Ron' Drews, 63
Ronald W. "Ron" Drews, 63, of West Bend, died Friday, May 26, 2000, at the Appleton Medical Center, Appleton.
He was born Nov. 22, 1936, in Milwaukee, to the late Everette and Irma (nee Maronn) Drews, and was raised in Muskego.
After his marriage to Patricia A. Driscoll on April 21, 1956, at Big Bend, the couple lived in Milwaukee moving to West Bend in 1971.
He was employed at Falk Corp. of Milwaukee as a foundry worker and later in the receiving department for over 25 years, retiring in 1997.
Survivors include his wife; three children, David, Lori (Bennett) Turenske and James, all of West Bend; two sisters, Beverly (Gary) Effinger of the town of Vernon and Judith (Pat) Lyons of Kewaunee; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
He was a member of St. Andrew Ev. Lutheran Church of West Bend.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 31, at 1 p.m. at St. Andrew Ev. Lutheran Church, with Pastor Bryan T. O'Connor officiating. Interment will be in Newark Cemetery, town of Barton.
Visitation at the Phillip Funeral Home of West Bend will be Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church only.
Memorials to St. Andrew Church or the American Lung Association are appreciated.
Francis B. Belanger, 67
Francis B., aka "Fran, Bel or Sonny" Belanger, 67, of West Bend, died Saturday, May 27, 2000, at St. Joseph's Community Hospital.
He was born Oct. 30, 1932, in Ironwood, Mich., to the late Francis and Anne (nee Kozen) Belanger, and graduated in 1950 from Luther L. Wright High School.
He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict.
On Aug. 21, 1954, he married Patricia A. Machac at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Ironwood, and in 1964 the family moved to West Bend.
He was employed as a meat cutter for Red Owl and later Piggly Wiggly of Saukville for over 40 years, retiring in 1994.
He also owned and operated the Fishing Pox I of Port Washington for over four years.
Survivors include his wife; two children, James of West Bend and Lynn (Donald) Knop of West Bend; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death were a son, Jeffrey; and a sister, Carol.
He was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church of West Bend, Amalagmated Meat Cutters Union, a former member of Ozaukee Great Lakes Sport Fisherman's Club and a member of the Knights of Columbus of West Bend.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and most of all, his family and friends.
Closing of the casket prayers will be Thursday, June 1, at 10:15 a.m. at the Phillip Funeral Home of West Bend, with a Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. at Holy Angels Catholic church of West Bend. Fr. Gerald Brittain will officiate and interment will be in Holy Angels Cemetery, West Bend.
Visitation at the funeral home will be Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. with a prayer vigil at 8 p.m. with Fr. Gerald Repenshek officiating.
Wilfred H. "Van" Van Doren
Wilfred H. "Van" Van Doren of Jackson, formerly of San Diego, Calif., passed away on Thursday, May 25, 2000. He was 82 years old.
He was born Aug. 21, 1917, in Elkhart, Ind., to William and Bertha (nee Thomas)Van Doren. He married Gladys A. Wood, who preceded him in death on Nov. 21, 1985. He then married Dorothy L. Miller in April of 1988 in San Diego.
Wilfred was raised in Moose Heart Children's Home in Aurora, Ill. He served with the US Navy during WWII in the Pacific Theatre on the US aircraft carrier, Bunker Hill. He enjoyed playing the saxophone. He was a US Postal Carrier for over 30 years, retiring in the mid-1980's. He was a member of the Federation of Musicians, L.O.O.M.-National, and a past member of US Letter Carriers, and the National Letter Carriers Association.
He is survived by one son, Wayne (Lisa) Van Doren of San Diego, Calif. and one sister, Mary Kay Johnson of Carmel, Calif. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Gladys; his parents; and one brother.
Private funeral services were held on Thursday, May 25 at 9 a.m. in Jackson. Cremation to take place at Parkview Cremations of Fond du Lac with Interment of ashes in El Camino Memorial Park and Mortuary of San Diego.
The Phillip Funeral Home of West Bend is assisting the family.
Arnold E. Toepel
Arnold E. Toepel of Iron Ridge passed away on Thursday, May 25, 2000. He was 76 years old.
He was born on Dec. 24, 1923, in Iron Ridge, to parents Arno, Sr. and Josephine (nee Westphal) Toepel. He married Karleen Bohn on Sept. 24, 1955.
Arnold graduated from Winnebago Lutheran Academy in Fond du Lac. He was an insurance underwriter for the Herman Mutual Ins. Co. of Iron Ridge. He retired as an insurance underwriter for Midland Mutual Ins. of Juneau. He was a faithful, life-long member of St. Matthew's Ev. Lutheran Church of Iron Ridge and a member of St. Matthew's Choir.
For more than 50 years, he was janitor at St. Matthew's Church & School. He was the sexton at St. Matthew's Cemetery, a member of the Iron Ridge Fire Dept. for 45 years and treasurer for 35 years.
He is survived by his children, daughter, Kathleen (David) Hagen of Horicon and son, James Toepel of Iron Ridge; three grandchildren, Kyle, Trevor and Noelle Hagen. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Karlene, in 1979; and one brother, Erwin.
Visitation was held on Monday, May 29 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Koepsell Funeral Home, Mayville and also on Tuesday, May 30 from 10 to 11 a.m. at St. Matthew's Ev. Lutheran Church, Iron Ridge. Funeral services followed at 11 a.m. at the church with Rev. Larry Mose officiating. Burial at St. Matthew's Cemetery, Iron Ridge.
Memorials may be directed to St. Matthew's Lutheran School or the Iron Ridge Fire Department.
