PennySue Vockroth
PennySue Vockroth (nee Heller) of Hartford passed away on Sunday, July 2, 2000 at St. Joseph's Hospital in West Bend. She was 28 years old.
She was born in New Jersey on Sept. 1, 1971 to Danny and Donna (nee Lehman) Heller.
Penny worked at Key Logo in Hartford and at Latest Edition in Jackson. She was a member of the Hartford VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post #8834. She attended Central Middle School and Hartford Union High School.
She is survived by her daughter, Danielle; her mother, Donna, and stepfather, Mark Schoenborn of Hartford; a sister, Dina Jo (Brent) Slavic of Omro; a brother, Richard (Fiancee Beth) Heller of Hartford; three step-sisters, Renee Wenninger of Slinger, Denise (Ernie) Untereiner of Louisiana, and Sarah Schoenborn of Idaho; a step-brother, Terry Wenninger of Hartford; maternal grandfather, Anton Pfeifer of Hartford; and paternal grandmother, Elaine Follman of Milwaukee. Penny is further survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Lillian Pfeifer, and her great-grandmother, Evelyn Pfeifer.
Funeral services will be on Thursday, July 6 at 7 p.m. at Shimon Funeral Home in Hartford with Rev. Ronald Pinc officiating. Family will greet relatives and friends on Thursday at the funeral home from 4 to 7 p.m.

Arthur E. Schmidt
Arthur E. Schmidt of Hartford passed away on Tuesday, June 27, 2000 at the West Allis Memorial Hospital. He was 81 years old.
He was born in the Town of Hubbard to Theodore and Ida (nee Tippet) Schmidt. He married Elizabeth Meyer on April 20, 1937.
Arthur worked for the United Shoe Machinery from 1951 until his retirement in 1984. He continued to work part-time in the shoe business at Allen-Edmonds in Port Washington. He loved bowling, golf and gardening.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; a son, Ken of Hartford; a daughter, Joyce (David) Evans of Milwaukee; six grandchildren, Kathy, Dale (Jill), Kay (Greg) Gundrum, Dean (Jennie), Jennifer (David) Jeffers, and Christopher Evans; six great-grandchildren, Tyler and Trent Gundrum, Sarah, Conrad, Ronald and Abigail Schmidt; three brothers, Wilfred (Genevieve) of Hustisford, Joseph (Theresa) of Mayville and Alfred (Jen) of Fond du Lac; a sister, Elsie Giese of Iron Ridge; and a sister-in-law, Bernice Schmidt of Oconomowoc. Art is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, Albert, Richard, William, Walter and Arnold Schmidt; and two sisters, Mildred and Lena.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Friday, June 30 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Kilian Catholic Church in Hartford with Father Michael Petrie officiating. The family greeted relatives and friends on Thursday, June 29 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Shimon Funeral Home in Hartford. Interment St. Kilian Cemetery, Hartford.

Margaret E. Strand
Margaret E. Strand died July 1, 2000 at the age of 98 years.
She was preceded in death by her husbands Ellis Evans and Charles Stand and daughter Doris Lemkuil.
She is survived by son-in-law Tom Lemkuil, grandchildren Dick Lemkuil, Margie (John) Beles and Mary Beth (Todd) Weisenborne, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Friday after 10 a.m. at Wisconsin Memorial Park Chapel of the Flowers, 132nd Street and Capitol Drive.
A service will be held at 11 a.m.
Private interment will be held.
The Church and Chapel Funeral Services is assisting the family.

Alan M. Pies
Alan M. Pies of Slinger passed away on Sunday, July 2, 2000 in Adams County. He was 24 years old.
He was born in Milwaukee on Aug. 11, 1975 to parents William and Donna (nee Zywicki) Pies of Slinger.
Alan was raised in Slinger and attended Slinger High School. He was employed at Rytec of Jackson and later at Rutley Construction of Slinger and Tomasini Construction of Waukesha. Currently, he was a truck driver and warehouse hero for Gundrum Trucking of Slinger.
He was a member of St. Luke's Church of Slinger and a member of the Harley Bike Rider's ABATE Club.
He is survived by his parents; one sister, Teri (Scott) Gundrum of Slinger; maternal grandmother, Stella Zywicki of Menomonee Falls; paternal grandmother, Adeline Pies of Richfield; two nieces, Natalie Gundrum and Jamie Pies of Slinger; two nephews, Michael and Brian Gundrum of Slinger; and very dear family friends, Tim and Denise Rutley of Slinger, and their children, Lindsey, Haley and Alexee. He is further survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers and one brother, William Scott Pies, on July 11, 1986.
Visitation will be held at The Phillip Funeral Home of West Bend on Thursday, July 6 from 4 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. David A. Beckstrom officiating. Entombment will take place at Wisconsin Memorial Park of Brookfield on Friday, July 7 at 10 a.m.

George Matthew Mahoney
George Matthew Mahoney of Ishpeming, Mich. died at his home on Sunday, July 2, 2000. He was 87 years old.
He was born in Champion on Oct. 13, 1912 to the late William and Virginia (nee Plankey) Mahoney. He graduated from St. Paul's High School in Negaunee and attended the Ford Trade Schools of Dearborn, Mich. He worked for the C.C.I. Mining Company for 40 years working as a machinist, and he retired as general foreman from the Brownstone Shops in 1977.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where he served as an usher for many years and a member of the Ishpeming ELKS Lodge #447 where he had the distinction of being the oldest past Exulted Ruler. He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
George is survived by three children, Paul (Margaret) Mahoney of Danville, Cal., Judith (Herbert) Boyle of Marquette, Mich., and Jean Grigg of Hubertus; nine grandchildren, Mark & Michael Mahoney, David, Daniel & Dennis Boyle, Howard Grigg, Jr., Kristie Madden, Stephanie Remillard and Brenda Grigg; 18 great-grandchildren; a special nephew, William (Bunny) McDonnell; along with other nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Leona (nee Johnson) Mahoney; a son-in-law, Howard L. Grigg, Sr.; four sisters and a brother.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Wednesday, July 5 at 5 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Mieczyslaw Onskiewicz officiating. Visitation was held at the church from 3 p.m. until the time of service on Wednesday. An ELK's memorial service was held at 4:30 p.m. Burial in the Ishpeming Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Mr. Mahoney's six grandsons.
The Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home of Ishpeming, Mich. served the family.

Robert C. Klink
Robert C. Klink of Watertown passed away on July 4, 2000 at Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center in Milwaukee. He was 76 years old.
He was born in Rubicon on Oct. 8, 1923 to Paul and Emma (nee Becker) Klink. He married Margaret Carey on Sept. 28, 1946 at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Watertown.
Robert graduated from eighth grade in Rubicon and was a high school graduate of St. Lawrence in Mt. Calvary. He owned and operated Klink Distributing, Inc. in Watertown for 35 years.
He was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Watertown and a member of the American Legion, Watertown Elks Club and the Amvets. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1943 to 1945 as a parachutist and automatic rifleman. He served in WWII in Iwo Jima.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret; three sons, William (Marieta) of Watertown, Robert E. (Nancy) of Hilton Head, South Carolina, and James (Cindy) of Burlington; two daughters, Margaret (Jeff) Lubbe of Mentor, Ohio and Kathleen Klink of San Diego, Cal.; two sisters, Margaret Lubeley and Isabel Fassbender of Milwaukee; and 12 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Robert C. Jr. and nine brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 7 at 12 p.m. at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Watertown. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the 12 p.m. Mass. Graveside military rites by the U.S. Marine Corps will take place at St. Bernard's Cemetery, Watertown.
Memorials may be directed to St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Watertown or the American Cancer Society.
The Hafemeister Funeral Home of Watertown is serving the family.

Agnes Rosella Klink
Agnes Rosella Klink (nee Hanrahan) of Hartford passed away on Tuesday, July 4, 2000 at the Cedar Lake Campus in West Bend. She was 85 years old.
She was born in Ashippun on Nov. 25, 1914 to Thomas and Mary (nee Kelly) Hanrahan. She married Hubert P. Klink on June 13, 1936 at St. Mary's of the Hill Church, Holy Hill.
Agnes was a member of St. John's Church in Rubicon since 1936 as well as their Christian Mothers Society, the Daughters of Isabella, the Hartford Senior Friends and their Kitchenaire Band. She was a volunteer at Lincoln School, the Hartford Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and a driver at the Dodge Co. Commission on Aging.
She is survived by four sons, David (Ruth) of Rubicon, Ronald (Julie) of Chandler, Ariz., Nick (Janet) of Hartford and Bert Klink of Chandler, Ariz.; a daughter, Mary (Wally) Kletti of Hartford; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one sister, Anna Kohn of Fond du Lac. Agnes is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert "Berty" Klink in 1988; four brothers, William, Raymond, Ralph and Leo Klink; three sisters, Lucille Teachout, Mary McAleavey and Genevieve Loosen; and a grandchild, Jillian Baus.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, July 8 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John's Catholic Church, Rubicon, with Father Ken Klink officiating. Family will greet relatives and friends on Friday, July 7 at the Shimon Funeral Home in Hartford from 4 to 8 p.m. with a Prayer Vigil at 7:45 p.m. Visitation will also be held at the church on Saturday from 9:15 to 10:30 a.m.
Interment at St. John's Cemetery, Rubicon. Memorials to St. John's Church, Cedar Lake Home or Hartford Memorial Hospital Foundation for the Lifeline Program.

Rita G. Wenzlaff
Rita G. Wenzlaff (nee Jansen) age 67, of West Bend passed on to eternal life on Wednesday, July 5, 2000 at St. Joseph’s Community Hospital after a six-month struggle with cancer.
Rita was born April 23, 1933 in the town of Barton to the late Lawrence and Rose (nee Matenaer) Jansen. Rita was married to Ralph J. Wenzlaff on Aug. 1, 1953 at St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception Church in the former village of Barton. Together, they lovingly raised their family while residing in West Bend. Rita was a dedicated wife and mother.
Rita had been employed as a secretary in the purchasing department at the former Amity Leather Products Co. for nine years. Later, she became a sales clerk at the West Bend Co. Outlet Store where she worked for 23 years.
Rita was a puzzle affectionado, having put together more than 180,000 puzzle pieces. She also loved her flower gardens, was an avid polka dancer and was a member of the Women of the Moose West Bend Chapter #732.
Rita is survived by her husband, three children, Michael (Chris) Wenzlaff of St. James, Fla., Mark (Julie) Wenzlaff and Mary (John) Menke, all of West Bend; three grandchildren, Danielle Wenzlaff and Lindsay and Jaymes Wenzlaff; one brother, Thomas (Ruth) Jansen of West Bend; one sister, Mary (Clint) Gundrum of West Bend; a sister-in-law, Betty (Gerald) Backhaus of West Bend; Ralph’s brothers and sisters, Lucille Scheerer, Leona Berndt, Walter (Gladys) Wenzlaff, Katherine Wenzlaff, all of West Bend, Syl (Margaret) Wenzlaff of Campbellsport and Gladys Wenzlaff of Milwaukee; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Richard.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at the Schmidt Funeral Home, West Bend, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Holy Angels Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Holy Angels Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 3:30-7:30 p.m. and also Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated.
The family would like to extend sincere gratitude to the entire staff at St. Joseph’s Community Hospital Hospice facility for their loving care and kindness. A special thank you to family and friends for their love and support during this difficult time.

Dorothy "Dottie" Niekamp
Dorothy "Dottie" Niekamp, 74, 381 Cherry St., St. Henry, Ohio, died Thursday, July 6, 2000, at The Gardens.
She was born April 3, 1926 in Wausau to Nick (Iva Bently) Rutkowski. She married Paul H. Niekamp on Oct. 5, 1946 in Ellis.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Henry Catholic Church and the Altar Rosary Sodality of the Parish.
She is survived by her husband; nine sons, Mike (Barb) Joe (Cheryl), both of St. Henry, Pat (Mary) of Ft. Recovery, Ohio, Ron (Doris) of Findlay, Ohio, Tom (Janice) of Centerville, Ohio, Bob (Ginny) and Jack (Becky), both of Stevens Point, Paul Jr. (Judy) of West Bend and Tim (Debbie) of Palmer, Ala.; five sisters, Pat (Ed) Bleyer of Stevens Point, Marge Montgomery of White Lake, Lorraine (Ben) Tuskowski of Custer, Carol (Herb) Zick of Rosholt and Arlene (Vern) Gronewold of Wasilla, Ala.; four brothers, Charles (Arlene) and Irv, both of Rosholt, Harold (Anne) and Ralph, both of Custer; 37 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Henry Church. Father Emil Labbe will officiate. Burial will be in St. Henry Cemetery. Calling hours will be 2-8 p.m. Sunday and after 9 a.m. Monday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home in St. Henry. A wake service will be at 7:45 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mercer-Darke Co. Hospice.

Jeffrey S. "Chopper" Donnelly
Jeffrey S. aka "Chopper" Donnelly, 31, of West Bend died Monday, July 3, 2000, at his residence.
He was born to Gary (Marie Rifenburg) Donnelly on Feb. 16, 1969, in West Bend. He was later married to Pamela Kertscher.
He was born and raised in West Bend and graduated West Bend West High School in 1987. He was employed at Muckerheide Construction of West Bend and later for Merriot Construction of Milwaukee for more than four years. He was a moonlighting softball coach for Wednesday night Women’s League of West Bend.
He is survived by his parents, Marie (Arthur) Donnelly-Hestekin of West Bend and Gary (Dawn) Donnelly of Birnamwood; two children, Brandon and Zachary Donnelly of West Bend; two sisters, Debbie (Andy) Leitheiser of Menomonee Falls and Diana (Art) Rick of Campbellsport; two brothers, Rodney (AMy) Donnelly of Fond du Lac and Matt Donnelly of Birnamwood; six nieces; one nephew; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at noon at the Phillip Funeral Home of West Bend. Rev. Dee M. Anderson of the West Granville Presbyterian Church will be officiating. Burial will take place at Washington County Memorial Park of West Bend. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 a.m until the time of service.
The Phillip Funeral Home of West Bend is assisting the family.
