Elroy W. "El" Schroeder
Elroy W. "El" Schroeder of Slinger passed away on Saturday, July 15, 2000 at St. Mary's Hospital of Ozaukee Co. He was 69 years old.
He was born in Milwaukee on July 21, 1930 to parents Oscar and Martha (nee Eberhardt) Schroeder.
He married Burnell P. DeGelleke on Oct. 11, 1950 at Elmgrove Lutheran Church of Elmgrove.
Elroy was raised in Milwaukee. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict.
After marriage, he and his wife lived in Milwaukee, later moving to Slinger.
He was a truck driver for Harvey Service of Wauwatosa for over 38 years, retiring in 1990.
He was a very active member of St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church of Slinger, a past member of Atonement Lutheran Church of Milwaukee and a member of the Teamster's Union #200 of Milwaukee.
Elroy is survived by his wife, Burnell; five children, Ronald (Michelle) Schroeder of Sussex, Michael (Nancy) Schroeder of Menomonee Falls, Linda (Jeff) Pride of Menomonee Falls, Sandra (Peter) Manning of Iron Ridge and Cheryl (Walter) Barr of Iron Ridge; 13 grandchildren, Richard, Andrew, Kelly, Kristin, Jason, Lisa, Stephanie, Emily, Samuel, Elijah, Alisha, Chad and Shawn; one sister, Arlene (Terry) Lohmeyer of Jackson; one brother, Roland (Elaine) Schroeder of Menomonee Falls; two sisters-in-law, Ann Schroeder of Milwaukee and Evelyn Schroeder of Butler; and one brother-in-law, Armin (Elaine) DeGelleke of Green Bay. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister; and three brothers.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, July 19 at 7 p.m. at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church of Slinger with Pastor Michael Schroeder officiating. Visitation was held at the church only on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. Interment will take place at Washington County Memorial Park of West Bend on Thursday, July 20 at 10 a.m.

Martin W. Schliewe
Martin W. Schliewe of Watertown passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2000 at Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital. He was 86 years old.
He was born in Lebanon, Wis. on May 19, 1914 to parents Theodore and Ida (nee Breesch) Schliewe. He married Delilla Uecker on April 12, 1936 at Bethany Lutheran Church, Hustisford.
Martin attended St. Peter's Lutheran School in Lebanon. He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Hustisford, a church trustee for several years, a former member of the Lebanon band and a retired dairy farmer.
He is survived by his wife, Delilla of Watertown; a son, Waldemar Schliewe of Watertown; a daughter, Marietta (Robert) Heule of Greenfield; a sister, Edna (Daniel) Sullivan of Watertown; a sister-in-law, Alma Schliewe of Lebanon; a brother-in-law, Weiland Uecker of Watertown; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Edwin and Gerhardt Schliewe; and sister, Lydia Schliewe.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 20 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church in Hustisford and on Friday, July 21 from 9 to 11 a.m. at the church. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. with Rev. Timothy Bauer officiating. Burial at Hustisford Cemetery.
Memorials to the Martin W. Schliewe memorial fund at Bethany Lutheran Church appreciated.
The Hafemeister Funeral Home in Watertown is serving the family.

Douglas J. "Doug" Marks
Douglas J. "Doug" Marks of Slinger passed away on Saturday, July 15, 2000 at Froedtert Memorial Hospital of Milwaukee.
He was 19 years old.
He was born in West Bend on March 1, 1981 to parents Kenneth and Joan (nee Johnson) Marks.
He was raised in Slinger and was a 1999 graduate of Slinger High School.
He is survived by his parents, Kenneth (Wendy) Marks of Slinger and Joan (Robert, Jr.) Kearns of Jackson; one sister, Nichole (Daniel) Kivela of Jackson; one brother, Ryan Marks of Manitowoc; three stepbrothers, Joseph and Jesse Vine of Slinger, and Robert Kearns III of West Bend; two stepsisters, Erin Kearns of Allenton and Lisa Vine of Slinger; maternal grandparents, Russell (Audrey) Johnson of Slinger and paternal grandparents, Mary C. Marks of West Bend and Edward (Cynthia) Crowe of Venice, Fla. He is further survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Robert Marks, Sr.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, July 18 at 10 a.m. at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church of Slinger with Rev. Daniel Schroeder officiating. Visitation was held at The Phillip Funeral Home of West Bend on Monday, July 17 from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment took place at Washington Co. Memorial Park following the service.

Cary J. Frank
Cary J. Frank of Richfield passed away at home on Tuesday, July 11, 2000. He was 61 years old.
He was born in Milwaukee on Nov. 30, 1938 to Harry and Emma (nee Stenzel) Frank. After graduating from Rufus King High School, Cary served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Kentucky, Texas and Alaska. He earned a bachelor's degree in psychology and sociology from Marquette University and went on to a 26 year career as a probation officer for the State of Wisconsin.
He married Beth Leadley on Jan. 18, 1969 at the First Methodist Church in Madison, and they built their home in 1971. Together, they raised six children with love and laughter.
Cary volunteered his time and talent to the Special Olympics and the Richfield Boys and Girls Little League. He was a "bike man." In his later years, he enjoyed a successful bike repair/building business with his son. Cary enjoyed his grandchildren, fishing, auctions, cars, crossword puzzles, and spending time with his family. He was a dedicated father and a one-of-a-kind person who will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Beth; five daughters, Melissa (Kevin) Sherfinski of Madison, Jennica (Scott) Westfahl of Menomonee Falls, Heather (John) Dominguez of Janesville, Andreya Frank of Winona, Minn. and Robin Frank of Fort Atkinson; one son, John Frank of Richfield; four grandchildren, Will and Emma Sherfinski and Zachary and Alexandria Westfahl; parents-in-law, Warren and Joyce Leadley of Madison; a sister, Judith Frank of Davie, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Jacqueline Leadley of Madison; and dear friend, Greg Reed of Hartford. Cary is further survived by two nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services were held on Friday, July 14 at 6:30 p.m. at the Shimon Funeral Home. Family greeted relatives and friends on Friday at the funeral home from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Interment at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Birthing Center at Community Memorial Hospital, Menomonee Falls, are appreciated.

Kenneth A. 'Ken' Henning, 77
Kenneth A. "Ken' Henning, 77, of West Bend, formerly of Menomonee Falls, died Tuesday, July 18, 2000, at Cedar Springs Health and Rehabilitation Center, Cedarburg.
He was born Aug. 28, 1922, in Milwaukee, to the late George and Helen (Finger) Henning, and graduated from Custer High School in 1940.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
After his marriage to Audrey G. Reinhardt on May 25, 1945, in Milwaukee, the couple lived in the Milwaukee area and later in Menomonee Falls.
He was a salesman for various food distributors for over 40 years, most recently with Open Pantry, retiring in 1988.
The couple moved to West Bend in 1995.
His wife passed away Oct. 15, 1998.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda (Jerry) James of Boltonville and Deanna (Lyman) Carlson and family of Okauchee; five grandchildren, Tammy Hames of Milwaukee, Kim (Gerald) Knoblausch of Cascade, Troy James of Milwaukee, Toby (Jessica) James of Newburg and Whitney (Bruce) Slominski of Marquette, Wis.; five great-grandchildren, Kyle, Kolin, Ryan, Adam and Dakota; a sister, Shirley Ehn-Voeltner of West Bend; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 21, at 7 p.m., at the Phillip Funeral Home of West Bend.
Pastor Oscar H. Kraft will officiate, and entombment will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend.
Visitation at the funeral home will be Friday from 4 p.m. until the time of services.
Memorials to the charity of the donor's choice are appreciated.

Pearl E. Wood, 86
A private funeral service was held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Grafton for Pearl E. Wood, 86, who died on July 16, 2000.
Fr. Mike Barrett officiated at the ceremony, with arrangements handled by Mueller Funeral Home, Grafton.
Ms. Wood was born Dec. 3, 1913 in Merrill, daughter of John and Jessie (nee Dent) MacDonald.
She worked as the former owner/operator of the Grafton Hotel.
Survivors include: son Michael (Laurette) Wood; daughter Patricia Pinke; brother Bob MacDonald; grandchildren Kelly (Keith) Schopp, Nicole (John) Leviska, Jeffrey (Gail) Wood, Kim Wood.
Further survived by other family and friends.

Vincent "Butch" Uselding, 89
Funeral services were held on July 13 at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church for Vincent "Butch" Uselding, 89, of Cedarburg, who died on July 8, 2000 at St. Mary’s Ozaukee of pneumonia. Fr. Ed Wawrzyniakowski and Fr. George Gajdos officiated at the ceremony. Arrangements were handled by Mueller Funeral Home in Cedarburg. Burial was held at St. Francis Borgia Cemetery in Mequon.
Mr. Uselding was born March 17, 1911 in the Town of Belgium, son of Peter and Mathilda (nee Wester) Uselding. He retired as a foreman for the L. E. Meyers High Line Construction Co.
He was the beloved husband of the late Elsie. Dear father of James (Sally) Uselding, Tom Uselding, Joyce (Richard) Zimdars. Dear grandfather of Debra (Gilbert) McDaniel, Donna (Roger) Erickson, James Jr. (Kathy) Uselding and Sarah Uselding, Kim Lukes, Elizabeth Uselding and Jacqueline Uselding. Dear great-grandfather of Jennifer McDaniel, Joshua McDaniel, Addie Erickson, Abram Erickson, Lacy Erickson, Emmie Erickson, Paul Uselding, Kassie Uselding, Christopher Uselding, Brandon Lukes and Nicole Lukes. Dear brother of Clemi Uselding.
He was preceded in death by son Donald, five sisters and three brothers and one great-grandchild.
Further survived by other relatives and friends.
Mr. Uselding resided at the Harrison Home in Cedarburg.

Thomas A. Uebelacker, 45
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 7 p.m. today at St. Gregory The Great Church for Thomas A. Uebelacker, 45, who died on July 15. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until the time of the service. Private Interment will be held. Heritage Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
Mr. Uebelacker was a longtime tool and die maker at Eaton Corp. and belonged to IAMAW Lodge #78.
Survivors include: wife Mary Uebelacker; son Jeffrey Uebelacker; daughter Amy Uebelacker; parents Arthur and Jane Uebelacker; sisters Pamela (John) Jadro, Nancy (Nicholas) Jasunas; brother Robert (Pam) Uebelacker; nephews John and Troy; niece Crystal; close friend Gary Buttrum.
Further survived by extended family at L & G’s, other relatives and friends.
Memorials are appreciated.
