Hedwig "Bebs" Morris
Hedwig "Bebs" Morris passed away Thursday, Oct. 12, 2000 at the age of 91.
She was born Oct. 11, 1909 in West Bend. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years William Clyde Morris, and daughter Beverly Morris.

She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Larry Wolfe; two grandsons, Cabot and Clark Wolfe; Granddaughter and husband, Courtney and James Sutton; great granddaughter, Hayden Sutton; sister Rose Schaefer; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m., Monday, Oct. 16, at Restland Abbey Chapel, Wynnewood, Okla. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m., Monday, Oct. 16, in Wynnewood, Okla. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 15, at Restland Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 8900 Carpenter Frwy., Dallas, TX 75247.

"Whitey" Harold Kohn
"Whitey" Harold Kohn, 61, of West Bend died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2000 at St. Joseph’s Community Hospital of West Bend.
He was born on July 7, 1939 at home in Hartland to the late Carl and Hazel (nee Dopke) Kohn. He served in the U.S. Army 101st Airborne Division and he was employed as a mason and cement finisher for Bonness Construction (also known as Highway Pavers) and later Payne & Dolan Inc. in Milwaukee.

He loved baseball and played in high school and in the Land O’ Lakes League for many years.

Whitey will be remembered as a man who loved spending time with his grandchildren and being outdoors hunting, fishing and gardening. When there was a deck of cards available he was playing the hand. He had an even bigger hand when it came to helping the people that came into his life.

He was the dear father of Tonya Kohn-Verbanac and Ryan Kohn, and loving grandpa of Jesse Verbanac and Paige Verbanac. He is also survived by a sister, Sandy (Red) Habersetzer; a brother, nieces, nephews, two great-nieces, other relatives and friends. He also had a special place in his heart for Arlene Neuy, Jesse Verbanac, Lonna Kohn, Alois and Naomi Schladweiler.

He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Kohn, his mother, Hazel Kohn-Neumeyer (nee Dopke), and a brother, Roy Kohn.

Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 17, at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, West Bend, with Rev. George Jorenby of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, Saukville, officiating. Burial will be in Saukville Union Cemetery at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18 (please meet at the funeral home at 9 a.m.). Visitation will be at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home from 4:30 p.m. until the time of services Tuesday.

Alexis, Ashley and Alyssa McCartney

Alexis, Ashley and Alyssa McCartney, infant children of Larry and Renee (nee Biegler) McCartney of West Bend, were born Oct. 1 at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin, Milwaukee.
Alexis died Oct. 2 and Ashley and Alyssa died on Oct. 10, all at Children's Hospital.

Survivors include their parents, Larry and Renee; a brother, Christopher of Goshen, Ind.; maternal grandparents, Eugene and Mary Biegler of West Bend; paternal grandfather, Walter McCartney of West Band; maternal great-grandmother, Grace Flasch of Marshfield; aunts and uncles, Melanie (John) Roehl of Stafford, Va., Holly Bielger, Randy McCartney and Tom McCartney, all of West Bend, and Sandi (Mark) Sullivan of Horicon; cousins and other relatives.

A memorial service was held Saturday, Oct. 14, at 2 p.m. at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, West Bend, with Pastor George Mumm officiating.

The Schmidt Funeral Home of West Bend, assisted the family.

Lorraine M. (Wickstrom) Hammar
Lorraine M. (Wickstrom) Hammar, nee Belongia, of West Bend, formerly of Kenosha, passed away on Friday, Oct. 13, 2000, at the age of 95.
Survivors include her daughter, Jeanine (Gary) (nee Wickstrom) Milligan of West Bend; grandchildren, Kevin (Teri) Milligan, Wendy (Bob) Leon, Brian (Connie) Milligan and Mary (Ron) Massingale; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Vernetta Belongia and Edith Deckert; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Alfred and Alvin (LaMay) Belongia; husbands, Andrew O. Wickstrom and Carl Hammar; brothers, Felix, James, Lloyd, Art and Wilbert Belongia; and sisters, Ellen Clark and Idella Lehman.

She was a member of the Women of the Moose Chapter 732, West Bend.

A Funeral Mass will be held Monday, Oct. 16, at 7 p.m. at St. Frances Cabrini Church, West Bend.

Visitation at the church will be Monday from 5 p.m. until the time of Mass.

Visitation will also be held on Tuesday, from noon to 1 p.m. at Bruch Funeral Home, 3503 Roosevelt Road, Kenosha, then proceeding to All Saints Cemetery, Pleasant Prairie, for committal services.

Memorials to St. Frances Cabrini Building Fund would be appreciated.

The Matenaer-Schramka Funeral Home, Hartford, is serving the family.

Edna T. Dietenberger
Edna T. Dietenberger, nee Sperka, 86, of Hartford, passed away on Friday, Oct. 13, 2000, at the Virginia Highlands Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Germantown.
She was born Oct. 15, 1913, in Oshkosh, to the late Leo and Josephine (nee Risching) Sperka, and married Floyd Mlodzik on June 16, 1945, in Hartford. He passed away on April 14, 1970.

She then married Edward Dietenberger on May 26, 1972. He preceded her in death on Sept. 7, 1977.

Edna was a member of the Hartford Senior Friends and St. Kilian Church and its Mite Society.

Survivors include a nephew, Roger Sperka of El Paso, Texas; stepchildren, John (Louise) Dietenberger of West Bend, Joseph (Bev) Dietenberger of North Freedom, Mary (Darnell) Wagner, Carol (Hubie) Montag and Gene (Marianne) Dietenberger, all of Hartford; other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death were a brother, Frank, and a sister-in-law, Marie.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, Oct. 17, at 7 p.m. at St. Kilian's Catholic Church.

Father Michael Petrie will officiate, and interment will be in St. Kilian's Cemetery.

Visitation at the church only will be Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m.

Memorials to the charity of one's choice are appreciated.

Ellen Wolfgram
Funeral services were held Friday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Grafton for Ellen Wolfgram, 79, of West Bend, who died Oct. 12, 2000 at St. Mary’s Hospital Ozaukee.
Entombment is at Washington County Memorial Park. Mueller Funeral Home, Cedarburg, assisted the family.

Mrs. Wolfgram was born Sept. 20, 1921 in Freistadt, daughter of the late Gustave and Clara (nee Wendt) Kressin. She married Raymond A. Wolfgramon April 7, 1945 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Freistadt, and he preceded her in death.

Mrs. Wolfgram was a homemaker and attended St. Paul Lutheran Church in Grafton.

Survivors include daughter Joyce (Richard) Weber of West Bend; grandchildren Bradley (Julie) Weber of Grafton and Jacquelyn (fiance Jeremy Gast) Weber of Waupaca; sisters Norma (Wilmer) Ehlke of West Bend and Rose Kurth of Cedarburg; sisters-in-law Helen Wolfgram of Cedarburg and Elnora (Melvin) Veloon of Hartford; brother-in-law Elmer (Lucille) Wolfgram of Cedarburg; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Ernestine 'Erna' Pircher
Ernestine C. "Erna" Pircher, nee Schatz, 87, of Irvine, Calif., died Sunday, Oct. 15, 2000, at Hoag Memorial Hospital of Newport Beach, Calif.

She was born Sept. 18, 1913, in Innsbruck, Austria, to the late Otto and Catherine Schatz and came to the United States at an early age.

After her marriage to Walter J. Pircher on Aug. 31, 1941, at St. Mary's Catholic Church of Richfield, the couple lived in Chicago, Ill., Estes Park, Colo. and in Irvine since 1994.

Her husband passed away Dec. 20, 1994.

Survivors include three daughters, Pat Matuszak of Irvine, Carol Russell of Las Vegas, Nev. and Kathleen Pircher of Irvine; four grandsons; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Rosie of Innsbruck; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death were six brothers and sisters.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, Oct. 21, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church of Richfield.

Father Charles Hanel will officiate, and interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery of Richfield.

Visitation at the church only will be Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of Mass.

Memorials are appreciated.

Charlotte E. 'Lotte' Marx
Charlotte E. "Lotte" Marx, nee Sarembe, 77, of West Bend, died Sunday, Oct. 15, 2000, at St. Joseph's Community Hospital.

She was born April 17, 1923, in Groz Bargen Kreis Militsch, Selesia, Germany, to the late Fritz and Katerine (Dehmel) Sarembe.

She moved to Berlin, Germany, in 1939, and was employed as a manager for a major food chain.

Lotte came to the United States April 30, 1956, living in Boise, Idaho, later moving to Millbrae, Calif. and coming to West Bend in 1967.

She was a bookkeeper and tax preparer for over 25 years, retiring in 1986.

Survivors include two children, Ingrid Sarembe of South San Francisco, Calif. and Eric "Rick" Sarembe of West Bend; a grandson, Paul Sarembe of Fond du Lac; two great-grandchildren, Ceasarea Rose Sarembe and Angie Jo Sarembe, both of Fond du Lac; two brothers, Georg Sarembe and Manfred (Burgel) Sarembe, both of Berlin, Germany; a brother-in-law, Heinz Karsten; a niece, Regina Schulenberg and two nephews, Uli Karsten and Horst (Ilona) Sarembe, all of Berlin, Germany; other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death were her husband and three sisters.

She was a member of Paradise Church of God of West Bend.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Oct. 19, at 7 p.m. at The Phillip Funeral Home, West Bend.

Rev. Ron Shingleton will officiate, and interment will be in Cedar Creek Cemetery, town of Polk, at 10 a.m. on Friday.

Visitation at the funeral home will be Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m.
