Almira Lobel

Private services were held for Almira Lobel (nee Schreiner), 94, formerly of Grafton and West Bend, who died April 20, 2001 in San Diego.
Inurnment will be at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery in the Town of Grafton. Arrangements are being handled by Mueller Funeral Home, Grafton.

Mrs. Lobel was the sister-in-law of Lillian Schreiner. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Lobel; parents Matt and Catherine (nee Hahn) Schreiner; brothers Lawrence, Bernard and Raymond Schreiner; and sister Corrine McCready.

Dorothy Catherine Dallmann

A funeral service will be held May 3 at 7 p.m. at First Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cedarburg for Dorothy Catherine Dallmann (nee Schulz), 89, who died on April 21, 2001 at St. Mary’s Hospice in Milwaukee. Visitation will be at the church from 5 p.m. until time of service. Interment will be held at Immanuel Cemetery. Mueller Funeral Home, Cedarburg, assisted the family with arrangements.
Mrs. Dallmann was born April 10, 1912 in Grafton, the daughter of the late Herman and Sophie (nee Oberhau) Schulz. Dorothy married the late Charles Dallmann on Sept. 19, 1930 in Cedarburg. She was a member of First lmmanuel Lutheran Church in Cedarburg and worked for Doerr Electric Co.

Survivors include: brother Robert (Corrine) Schulz and a niece Chris (Skip) Glor.

She was preceded in death by a son Roger and a sister Evelyn.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Mary’s Hospice are appreciated.

Richard Parsons
Richard Parsons, 72, of San Diego, Calif., died unexpectedly on Sunday, April 22.

Survivors include his wife, the former Barbara Arnfield, and their children, Mark and Janet (David) Sykes, both of San Diego.

Preceding him in death were a daughter, Ann; his parents; and his parents-in-law, Henry and Alice Arnfield of West Bend.

Richard was a native of Racine and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He was a systems engineer with General Dynamics Conair Missile Division.

Funeral services were held Friday, April 27, at Christ the King Catholic Church in San Diego.

Floyd W. Martin
Floyd W. Martin, 78, of West Bend, died Wednesday, April 25, 2001, at St. Joseph's Community Hospital.

He was born Feb. 20, 1923, in Chicago, Ill., to the late Frank and Elsie (nee Dinse) Martin.

Floyd served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a bombardier during World War II. After his return from the service he attended and graduated from Northwestern University.

He married Harriett Nicol on June 14, 1947, at Watson Park Church in Chicago. They moved to Villa Park, Ill. in April of 1950 and lived in the same home for 50 1/2 years.

Floyd was employed as an accountant for Standard Oil Co. for 30 years, retiring in 1980.

In September of 2000 the couple moved from Villa Park to West Bend.

He was a member of Peace United Church of Christ in Kewaskum and was previously a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Elmhurst, Ill. He sang in choirs for more than 60 years.

Floyd was a master gardener and especially loved roses. He also enjoyed golfing and bowling.

Floyd was known as a friendly, caring person. He will be missed by his family and friends and will be remembered by his wife, Rev. Harriett Martin; four children, Lonnie (Tim) Farr of Crystal Lake, Ill., Robert Martin of Park Ridge,Ill., Rev. James (Rev. Jenny Dawson) Martin of Sheboygan Falls and Les Martin of West Bend; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 28 at 11:30 a.m. at Peace United Church of Christ, Kewaskum, with Rev. Eric Kirkgaard officiating.

Visitation with the family will be at the church on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services.

Memorials are appreciated to Habitat for Humanity, Elmhurst Walk-in Ministry, St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Elmhurst, or Peace United Church of Christ, Kewaskum.

The Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, West Bend, is assisting the family.

Rose K. Gompper

Rose K. Gompper, nee Murawski, 83, of West Bend, passed away on Friday, April 27, 2001, at her daughter's home in Cudahy.
She was born on April 3, 1918, in Milwaukee, to the late Andrew and Hedwig (Koninzna) Murawski, and married Harold J. Gompper on May 31, 1937, in Milwaukee.

He passed away on Feb. 4, 1988.

She was the beloved mother of Arlene "Connie" (Frank) Polski of Cudahy; dear mother-in-law of Patricia Gompper of Florida; dear grandmother of James, Jack, Michael (Terri) Polski, Lt. Cmdr. James P. (Kay) Gompper, Mark Polski, Kristina (Otis) Duncan, Robert Polski and Michael Gompper.

She is further survived by 10 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; special friends, Cindy Wilms, Carol Polsi and Amy Gompper; a sister-in-law, Josephine Murawski of Milwaukee; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death were a son, Cmdr. James H. Gompper; a sister, Helen Aiello; and a brother, Edmund Murawski.

Rose was a retiree of the U.S. Postal Service and a member of the West Bend Chapter 73 O.E.S.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 1 at noon at the Phillip Funeral Home of West Bend.

Pastor Howard Knox will officiate, and entombment will be at 2:30 p.m. at Wisconsin Memorial Park of Brookfield.

Visitation at the funeral home will be Tuesday from 10 a.m. until noon.

Memorials to the VNA Hospice or charity of the donor's choice are appreciated.

Olga E. Baumer
Olga E. Baumer, nee Zenk, of West Bend, passed away on Wednesday, April 25, 2001, at the Cedar Lake Health Care Center at the age of 96.

She was born Sept. 26,1904, in Loran, Ill., to the late Rev. William an Martha (nee Szeppull) Zenk.

At a young age Olga moved with her family to Jackson, and later to Campbellsport, where she graduated from high school. She then moved to Milwaukee and attended State Teachers College earning a degree in music. She then moved to Sheboygan to teach music.

On Dec. 31, 1929 Olga was united in marriage to Rev. Dr. Harry W. Baumer in Sheboygan. She shared her husband's ministry, first in Louisville, Ky., then in Cleveland, Ohio, and in 1949 came to West Bend and helped with her husband's ministry at Immanuel United Church of Christ for 25 years.

Among her many church activities, she served as the church music director and a Sunday School teacher.

Her husband passed away on Oct. 15, 1979.

Olga was a past state treasurer and active member of Church Women United, and the West Bend Woman's Club. She was on the first board of directors of the Cedar Lake Home, serving as secretary, and also chaired the first building committee of the Cedar Lake Home.

Survivors include three children and their spouses, William and Judith Baumer of Clarence, N.Y., Paul and Jan Baumer of Columbus, Ohio and Martha Ann Baumer of St. Louis, Mo.; a daughter-in-law, Janice Baumer of Cedar Rapids Iowa; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Gail and Leon Niles, Ann and Paul Schulte, William and Barbara Baumer, Laurel and Thomas Black, Jacqui and Michael Loughry, Matthew and Jane Baumer and Amy and William Kuehl; six great-grandchildren, Noel and Richard Niles, Ryan and Rebecca Black, Christopher Schulte and Haley Baumer.

Preceding her in death were her son, Richard, and nine sisters and brothers.

Memorial services for Olga will be held Saturday, may 5, at 1:30 p.m. at Immanuel United Church of Christ, West Bend, with Rev. James Eckblad officiating.

A reception with the family will follow

Burial will be in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend.

Memorials to the Immanuel Church Music Program, the Cedar Lake Health Care Center, or the United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities, are appreciated by the family.

The Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, West Bend, is assisting the family.

Alfonse "Al" Theisen

Alfonse "Al" Theisen, 87, of St. Michaels and a lifetime resident of the area, passed away on Saturday, April 28, 2001, at his home with his family at his side.
He was born Sept. 25, 1913, in St. Michaels, to the late Mathias and Mary (Bingen) Theisen, and on June 5, 1948, married Mildred Schlosser at St. Michael's Catholic Church in St. Michaels.

After their marriage the couple farmed the Schlosser Homestead in New Fane. Also during this time, Al worked for Joe Jaeger Road Construction working on Kettle Moraine Drive. After the road work was competed, Al was employed by C.W. Haug Roofing, retiring in 1981.

He was a member of Milwaukee Roofer's Local 65.

In 1963 the couple moved and made their home in St. Michaels where he was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife; five children, Linda Theisen of St. Michaels, Mary (Kerry) Faber of Kewaskum, Julie (John) Herriges of the town of Wayne, Jane (Don) Disler and Joe Theisen, both of Kewaskum; eight grandchildren, Sara and Adam Disler, Andrea, Bryan and Christa Theisen, Nicholas and Monica Faber and Courtney Herriges; two step-grandchildren, Kali and Kyle Faber; a sister, Lucille Petri of West Bend; two sisters-in-law, Mildred Theisen of Kewaskum and Clara Theisen of West Bend; a brother-in-law, George Schickert of West Bend; nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were four sisters, Loretta Schneider, Rose Schneider, Marie Peters and Bernice Schickert, and three brothers, Alex, Ray and Albert Theisen.

Al enjoyed his grandchildren, and loved the outdoors - gardening, walking in the woods, picking morel mushrooms, berries, and hickory nuts.

He will be deeply missed by his wife, family and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, April 30, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in St. Michaels.

Father Robert Artmann will officiate, and burial will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call at the church on Monday from 3 p.m. until the time of services.

Memorials to Holy Trinity Parish Education Fund are appreciated.

The Miller Funeral Home, Kewaskum, is serving the family.
