Ronald W. Deltgen

A funeral service was held for Ronald W. Deltgen, 68, at Elmbrook Church in Brookfield on Wednesday. Visitation was held at the church from 2 p.m.until the time of the funeral service which was held at 4 p.m. Rev. David Briscoe officiated the service. Burial will take place today, Sept. 6, 2001, at Zur Ruhe Cemetery, in Cedarburg.
Mueller Funeral Home of Cedarburg assisted the family.

Mr. Deltgen was born on Nov. 7, 1932, in Thompson, Ga. He later married Betty (nee Jaeger) in Wauwatosa, on Dec. 8, 1956. They moved to Cedarburg over 15 years ago and have still attended Elmbrook Church in Brookfield. He was a member of the L.C.C.A. (Lionel Collector’s Club Association) and was a warranty dealer for Lionel Trains for over 25 years.

Ronnie is survived by his wife: Betty Deltgen (nee Jaeger) of Cedarburg; children: Lenn (Barbara) Deltgen of Milwaukee, and Renee Deljon of Berkeley, Calif.; grandchildren: Joshua, Dexter and Alexandrea Deltgen all of Milwaukee; sisters: Marsha Koepp of Milwaukee and Sharon Wichman of Milwaukee.

He is further survived by other relatives and friends.

Memorials can be sent to Elmbrook Church, 777 S. Barker Road. Brookfield, WI, 53005.

Eleanor A. Marks

Eleanor A. Marks, 75, a lifelong resident of Oshkosh, died Tuesday, Sept. 4,2001, at Mercy Medical Center.
Eleanor was born Jan. 10, 1926, to the late Rudolph and Camilla (Bauer) Ebersberger, and on April 23, 1946 married David Leland Marks at Sacred Hearts Church.

He passed away on April 14, 1980.

Eleanor attended Mercy Medical Center's School of Nursing, and worked at Omro Care Center and Bethel Home Inc.

She was also a volunteer at Mercy Medical Center.

Survivors include three children, Michelle (Alan) Dunn of West Bend, Mary Mulvey Marks of Oshkosh and Michael (Sandy) Marks of Oshkosh; a daughter-in-law, Christine marks of St. Paul, Minn.; nine grandchildren, her beloved first grandson, Jeremy Mulvey, who considered her more like a mother than a grandmother, and Tristan, Padrick and Erin Dunn, Daniel, Anne and Sarah Marks, Sammie and Anna Marks; two great-grandchildren, Jeremy and Ethan; a sister, Gertrude (Nathan) Gorr; three brothers, Norman, Richard (Florence) and Rudolph (Jane) Ebersberger; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death were her beloved first born, a son, David Jr. who died in February, 1992; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Elizabeth and Agnes (Joe) Schreiber; and a brother, Norbert.

Following Eleanor's wishes, a private family service will be held. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

The Fiss and Bills-Poklasny Funeral Homes, Oshkosh, is assisting the family.

Kathleen C. Yost
Kathleen C. Yost, nee Haendel, 77, of West Allis, died peacefully at her home on Thursday, Aug. 30, 2001.

She was born on Dec. 28, 1923, in West Bend.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Donald, in 1989, and her son from a previous marriage, Terrance Lee Benike, in 1970.

She has two surviving grandchildren, Marshal Calvin and Michael Todd Benike of Antioch, Calif.

Her sole surviving brother, William Haendel of DeKalb, Ill., will officiate at the graveside services at Highland Memorial Park, 14875 W. Greenfield Ave., New Berlin, on Saturday, Sept. 15, at 11 a.m.

Her many friends are welcome.

Dawn H. Steilen
Dawn H. Steilen, nee Farley, 48, of West Bend, went home to Jesus on Thursday, Sept. 6, 2001, at Froedtert Memorial Hospital, Milwaukee.

She was born Jan. 12, 1953, in Milwaukee, to Neil and Diana (Psaris) Farley and graduated from New Berlin High School in 1971. She later went to MATC and received her LPN license.

Following her marriage to Jerome P. Steilen on March 5, 1982, in West Bend, the couple resided in the West Bend area.

She was an LPN for over 25 years with Sacred Heart Hospital of Milwaukee. Later she worked for Home Health Care in West Bend and Midwest Medical Home Care in the surrounding area.

She was a member of Community Church of West Bend.

Survivors include her husband; two children, Sarah Steilen and Anthony Steilen, both of West Bend; her parents, Neil (Elizabeth) Farley of Milwaukee and Diana (Jeffrey) Searing of Westfield; two sisters, Desiree (Peter) Kossow of Oak Creek and Darcel (Brian) Cleveland of Lomira; a brother, Anthony (Renee) Farley of Muskego; aunts; uncles; cousins; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, Sept. 9 at 7 p.m. at Community Church of West Bend.

Pastor Kevin Barrett will officiate, and cremation will take place at Paradise Cremation Services of West Bend.

Visitation at the church only will be Sunday from 5 p.m. until the time of services.

Memorials are appreciated to Community Church of West Bend.

The Phillip Funeral Home, West Bend, is assisting the family.

Martha M. Schmit
Martha M. Schmit, nee Kircher, formerly Dolenz and Leitheiser of Kansas City, Mo., died Friday, Sept. 7, 2001 at the Villa St. Joseph Nursing Home in Kansas City at the age of 93.

She was a former resident of West Bend and Port Washington.

She was born on July 24, 1908 in the village of Barton to the late Jacob and Sophia (nee Hibbeln) Kircher and married Joseph John Dolenz. Joseph preceded her in death in 1935. She then married Bernard Leitheiser who preceded her in death in 1975. Martha then married Alvin Schmit who preceded her in death in 1992. Martha enjoyed making quilts for her family and friends.

Survivors include three children, Dr. John Dolenz of Kansas City, Mo., Bernard Dolenz of Fort Worth, Texas and Franklin (Alicia) Leitheiser of Long Beach, Calif.; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She is further survived by a brother John of Chetopa, Kan. and a sister, Clara Moll of West Bend.

Martha is preceded in death by a son, James, and a daughter-in-law, Jetta Dolenz.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held Tuesday, Sept. 11 at 1 p.m. at St. Mary's Immaculate Conception Church with Rev. Robert Bales presiding.

Burial will follow in St. Mary's Old Cemetery.

Visitation will be Monday at the church only, from 4 p.m. until a rosary service at 7 p.m. and Tuesday from noon until the time of services. The Schmidt Funeral Home of West Bend is serving the family.

Ann Marie O’Connor

Ann Marie O’Connor (nee Decker), formerly of Cedarburg, died on July 28, 2001, in Sparta, Tenn. at the age of 39.
She was born in Port Washington on March 6, 1962, the daughter of Raymond and Diane Decker of Green Valley, Ariz.

She was the mother of Alexian and Arthur.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by a brother, Randy (Jody) Decker and two sisters, Joell Decker and Wendy (Stuart) Franzen. She is also survived by a grandfather, Andy Metropalous, and a grandmother, Gwen Andrews.

She is further survived by many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Raymond and Olga Decker.

Memorials to the American Cancer Society are appreciated.

Virginia R. Schemenauer

Virginia R. Schemenauer, nee Moquin, 82, of West Bend, was born to eternal life on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2001, at the Cedar Lake Health Care Center.
She was born Feb. 21, 1919, in Racine to the late Urbain and Gertrude (nee Birschbach) Moquin.

In 1927 she came to West Bend and was employed at various places. In 1943 she returned to Racine where she lived until her marriage to Sylvester J. Schemenauer on Feb. 15, 1958.

The couple settled on the Schemaneuer homestead farm where she lived until coming to West Bend in 1995.

Sylvester passed away on Jan. 25, 1994.

Survivors include two children, Patrick of Richfield and Peter (Melissa) of West Bend; five grandchildren, Peter Schemenauer Jr., Amy, Katy, Lynn and Maggie Muckerheide; three nieces; Barbara Bennett of Beaver Dam, Kathy Reiser of Johnson Creek and Betty (John) Kelly of Oshkosh; other nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death was a sister, Florence Schwoch.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Sept. 11, at 7 p.m. at the Schmidt Funeral Home, West Bend, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 7:30 p.m. at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, West Bend.

Father Jeffrey Haines will be the presider, and burial will be Wednesday in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend.

Visitation at the funeral home will be Tuesday from 4 to 7:15 p.m.

Memorials may be given to St. Frances Cabrini Parish.
