Wetzel Esque Jr.
Wetzel Esque Jr., 70, of 146 Judson Drive, Apt. C, Beaver Dam, formerly of Chicago, died on Sunday, Jan. 7, 2001, at Hillside Manor Nursing Home.

A memorial service will be held in West Virginia, at a later date.

Mr. Esque was born on March 21, 1930, in West Virginia, the son of Wetzel Sr. and Bertha (Gilmore) Esque. He was married to Elmay Keske in Chicago.

Survivors include his wife, Elmay Esque, Beaver Dam; one son, Keith Esque, Texas; two daughters, Donna Lily, West Virginia, and Gina (Larry) Walker, North Carolina; one step-son, Kenneth Strahota, Reeseville; two sisters, Mary (George) Duncan, West Virginia, and Sue (Roger) Atkins, Cleveland, Ohio; one brother, Paul Esque, West Virginia; four grandchildren; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and three sisters.

The Koepsell Funeral Home, Beaver Dam, is serving the family.

Lorraine V. Zellmer
WAUPUN - Lorraine V. Zellmer, 88 a resident of the Christian Home, Waupun, died on Friday, Jan. 5, 2001, at the home.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 10, at 11 a.m., at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Waupun. The Rev. Michael Moran will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove cemetery, Portage.

Mrs. Zellmer was born on Sept. 30, 1912, in Montello, the daughter of John and Augusta (Falk) Metzler. She was married on June 30, 1936, to Erwin Zellmer in Waupun.

Mrs. Zellmer attended St. John's Catholic Grade School and Montello High School. She graduated from Milwaukee State Teachers College and then taught first and second grades in Montello and Milwaukee. After her marriage, she moved to Waupun where she lived all her married life and taught as a substitute teacher in the Waupun School District. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Waupun, the Altar Society, and was active in girl scout work. During her life, when she could, she would offer acts of kindness and words of encouragement to others. During her illnesses and the latter part of her life at the Waupun Christian Home, she had a strong loving team of support; the entire Christian Home staff, her friends there, family members, lifetime friends, and Drs. Rosales and Graupner, whom she trusted and valued.

Survivors include her husband, Erwin Zellmer, Waupun; two daughters, Mary Zellmer, Madison, and Jane Zellmer, Milwaukee; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters, Ruth Cambridge and Grace Metzler.

Friends may call on Wednesday, Jan. 10, from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Waupun.

The Kohls Community Funeral Home, Waupun, is serving the family.

Warren Wedge
FOX LAKE - Warren "Sandy" Wedge, 54, died on Monday, Jan. 8, 2001, at West Palm Beach V.A. Hospital in Florida.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 13, 2001, at 11 a.m., at the First Presbyterian Church, Fox Lake. Past State American Legion Chaplain Gale Dahlke will officiate. Burial of the cremains will take place at a later date.

Mr. Wedge was born on Aug. 5, 1946, in Beaver Dam, the son of Warren and Viola (Kuphal) Wedge.

Mr. Wedge attended the Fox Lake Public School and was a graduate of Waupun High School. Following high school, he served his country in the U.S. Army from May 1966 to May 1968, serving 12 months in Vietnam. He was a longtime member of the Robert W. Ginther American Legion Post No. 521, Fox Lake, and a VFW member in Florida. He will be sadly missed and mourned by relatives and friends who agree that with "Sandy's" many talents, abilities and energies, he left the world a better place as he sang "I Did It My Way."

Survivors include his wife, Judy Wedge, Jenson Beach, Fla.; three sisters, Betty (Ed) Hynek, Lyttle Creek, Calif., JoAnn (Donald) Meinders, Fox Lake, and Susan (Gale) Dahlke, Little Lake Tomahawk; two aunts, Shirley Jonas, Fox Lake, and Isabel Wedge, Florida; one uncle, Gordon (Elda) Wedge, Florida; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and two uncles, Melvin "Champ" Wedge and Marvin Jonas.

There will be no visitation before the services, but your presence is welcome to meet with family and friends in the church fellowship hall immediately following the services for a luncheon.

Carol R. Pankow
MAYVILLE - Carol R. Pankow, 51, of 116 N. German St., Mayville, died on Sunday, Jan. 7, 2001, at her home.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 10, at 6 p.m., at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, Mayville. The Rev. Geoffrey Hoy will officiate.

Mrs. Pankow was born on March 28, 1949, in the township of Lomira, the daughter of Le Roy and Adeline (Wondra) Margelofsky. She was married on Sept. 13, 1969 to Kenneth Pankow in Mayville.

Mrs. Pankow was a 1968 graduate of Lomira High School. She was a babysitter in the Theresa, Lomira and Mayville area for many years. She was a member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, Mayville.

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Pankow, Mayville; her children, Robert Pankow, and Schawn Pankow, both of Mayville; parents, LeRoy and Adeline Margelofsky, Lomira; mother-in-law, Annie Pankow, Mayville; one sister, Janet (Darwin) Backhaus, Mayville; four brothers, Roger (Linda) Margelofsky, Marytown, David Margelofsky, Ashford, Leon (Sherry) Margelofsky, Mayville, and Dennis (Dawn) Margelofsky, Fond du Lac; one grandson, Cody James Pankow; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents; father-in-law, Clarence; one aunt, Rita; and one nephew, Jason.

Friends may call on Wednesday, Jan. 10, from 4 p.m. until the time of service, at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, Mayville.

Patricia R. Schlicher
MADISON - Patricia R. Schlicher, 72, of Madison, formerly of Beaver Dam and Platteville, died on Saturday, Jan. 6, 2001, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She had fought a long and courageous battle with cancer.

The funeral will be held on Thursday, Jan. 11, at 11 a.m., at the Cress Funeral Home, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison.

Mrs. Schlicher was born on May 21, 1928, in Milwaukee, the daughter of Ervin and Antoinette (Samonig) Fritz. She was married on April 17, 1948, to Robert B. Schlicher in Madison.

Mrs. Schlicher had many interests including, painting, woodworking, photography, wildlife, nature, cats, dogs, birds and above all, caring for her children and grandchildren. She had strong support from the staff of Home Health United with their tireless efforts to insure her wishes, comfort and dignity through her very last breath.

Survivors include seven children, Allen Schlicher, Mark (Linda) Schlicher, Jean (David) Martin, Kurt (JoAnne) Schlicher, Lisa (Craig) Tiedemann, Scott (Sandee) Schlicher, and Diana (Wayne) Peterson; two brothers, Warren (Jean) Fritz and Jack (Rita) Fritz; one aunt, Lucille (Hank) Mueller; 12 grandchildren; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by his parents, and her husband, Robert, who she selflessly cared for throughout a long illness.

Friends may call on Thursday, Jan. 11, from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service, at the Cress Funeral Home, Madison.

Kimberly A. Paswaters
CAMPBELLSPORT - Kimberly Ann Paswaters, 34, of Cambellsport, violently entered eternal life on Saturday, Jan. 6, 2001, at St. Agnes Hospital, Fond du Lac.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 10, at 11 a.m., at the Twohig Funeral Home, Campbellsport. The Rev. Daniel Schmidt will officiate. Burial will be in Auburn cemetery.

Mrs. Paswaters was born on Jan. 26, 1966, at Memorial Hospital, Watertown, the daughter of Donald and Pearl (Fredrick) Dobbratz. She was married on Sept. 29, 1984, to Douglas Paswaters in Elmbrook.

Mrs. Paswaters was a 1984 graduate of Campbellsport High School. She and her husband had four beautiful daughters. She was very proud to be the first certified woman firefighter for the Campbellsport Volunteer Fire Department. She was furthering her education to become an emergency medical technician. She was proud that she was a part-time civil servant of the Campbellsport Post Office. She took pride in home schooling her children and the special Friday's for each of her daughters. She also operated a childcare facility in her home and was fluent in sign language which she used in her childcare and taught to her daughters. She was a very special person and an excellent mother who enjoyed life with her family and friends. She was a wonderfully kind person who would help anyone, anytime. She will be greatly missed by her entire family and all of her friends. Anyone who met her will feel great pain at having lost her, she was truly special.

Survivors include four daughters, Cristalynn, Mistie, Noel and Heather, all at home; ex-husband, Douglas; her mother, Pearl Dobbratz, Lomira; her father, Donald Dobbratz, Juneau; step-mother, Rosemary Dobbratz, Juneau; grandfather, Raymond Dobbratz; three sisters, Dawn Wahl, Almond, Chris (Jon) Hagen, Campbellsport, and Valerie Dobbratz, Lomira; one step-sister, Amy (Mike) Jach, Reeseville; one half-brother, Donald Dobbratz II, Juneau; mother-in-law, Karen Paswaters, Campbellsport; one sister-in-law, Diana Paswaters, Campbellsport; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather; one uncle; and her paternal grandmother.

Friends may call on Tuesday, Jan. 9, from 3 to 8 p.m., at the Twohig Funeral Home, Campbellsport.

Memorials are appreciated to a fund to be established.

Wilma J. Sarbacher
WYOCENA - Wilma J. Sarbacher, 82, of 137 N. Spring St., Columbus, died on Monday, Jan. 8, 2001, at Columbus Community Hospital.

The funeral will be held on Friday, Jan. 12, at 11 a.m., at the Columbus United Methodist Church. The Rev. John Hobbins will officiate. Burial will be in the Sauk Prairie cemetery in Prairie du Sac.

Mrs. Sarbacher was born on May 23, 1918, in Prairie du Sac, the daughter of William and Orva (Pobjoy) Jenewein. She was married on Aug. 23, 1940, to Harry J. Sarbacher in Menomonee Falls.

Mrs. Sarbacher graduated from Prairie du Sac High School, then attended the Milwaukee Accredited School of Beauty Culture. She worked in several beauty shops before her marriage. She was a longtime resident of Columbus where she was employed with several area businesses. She attended Madison Area Technical Institute in 1975, where she received a master barbers license, graduating with honors. She was then employed as a barber in Sun Prairie for 10 years. She was a member of the Columbus United Methodist Church, its UMW and the Susannah Circle, a member of the Columbus Community Hospital Auxiliary and a volunteer for Meals on Wheels.

Survivors include her husband, Harry Sarbacher, Wyocena; three daughters, Nancy Macgregor, Madison, Janet Hetzel, Sherman Oaks, Calif., and Jenifer (Phil) Winiger, Marshall; two nieces; relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Marjorie Platt, and two brothers, Neil and William Jenewein.

Friends may call on Friday, Jan. 12, from 10 a.. until the time of service, at Columbus United Methodist Church.

Memorials may be made to the Meals on Wheels program or the Columbus Community Hospital Lifeline program.

Frieda L. Dieckhoff
FALL RIVER - Frieda Lydia Dieckhoff, 91, of Fall River, passed on to be with the Lord, Monday, Jan. 8, 2001.

The funeral was held on Saturday, Jan. 13, at 11 a.m., at the Ziedler Funeral Home, Columbus. The Revs. Larry Campbell and Andrew Itzen officiated. Burial was in Fall River cemetery.

Mrs. Dieckhoff was born on Oct. 16, 1909, the youngest and last of six children, to Henrich and Lydia (Iwert) Braker, on a farm in the Lost Lake area. She was married in 1930, to Walter Dieckhoff.

Mrs. Dieckhoff was a homemaker and worked for the Wisconsin Telephone Company. She loved the Lord and enjoyed Christian fellowship. She attended the Columbus Christian Fellowship Church. She enjoyed reading the Bible, listening to Christian music, baking and witty sayings. Many happy days were spent at her cottage in Minong.

Survivors include her children, Dorothy (Lyle) Schoenwetter, Rushville, Ill., Richard Dieckhoff, Fall River, Vera Reihbrandt, Beaver Dam, and LeRoy (Betty) Dieckhoff, Fall River; seven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; one step-great-great-granddaughter; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; three sisters; and former husband Walter Dieckhoff.

Friends called on Friday, Jan. 12, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Ziedler Funeral Home, Columbus, and on Saturday, Jan. 13, from 10 a.m. until the time of service, at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Columbus Christian Fellowship Church.

Alice J. Hoffa
BROOKFIELD - Alice J. (Schouten) Hoffa, 82, formerly of Trenton, died on Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2001.

The funeral will be held on Friday, Jan. 12, at 11 a.m., at Wisconsin Memorial Park Chapel of the Chimes, 13235 W. Capitol Drive, Brookfield.

Mrs. Hoffa was the dearest wife of the late George Hoffa, and the mother of Patricia (Ronald) Brandsetter. She is further survived by relatives and friends.

Friends may call on Friday, Jan. 12, from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the chapel.

The Harder Funeral Home, Brookfield, is serving the family.

Lillian E. Wamser
HUSTISFORD - Lillian E. Wamser, 87, died on Monday, Jan. 8, 2001, at Hartford Memorial Hospital.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, Jan. 13, at 10 a.m., at St. Malachy's Catholic Church, Horicon. The Rev. Gene Kinney will officiate. Burial will be in Hustisford cemetery.

Mrs. Wamser was born on April 6, 1913, in Philips, the daughter of Frank and Pearl Bradt. She was married on Nov. 23, 1932, to Raymond Wamser at St. Kilian's Catholic Church, Hartford.

Mrs. Wamser and her husband were long time members of St. Malachy's Catholic Church, Horicon.

Survivors include her children, Judy Wood, Hustisford, Mike Wamser, Iron Ridge, and Danny (Carol) Wamser, Hustisford; three grandchildren, Michael Jr. (fiancee, Dawn Underwood) Wamser, Arkansas, Deb, Oshkosh, and Denise, Milwaukee; three great-grandchildren, Tyler, Andrea, and Colton; relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond, on Jan. 10, 1992, and one granddaughter, Patricia Wamser.

Friends may call on Friday, Jan. 12, from 4 to 8 p.m., at the Berndt-Ledesma Funeral Home, Hartford.
