Philip P. Hanson
WYOCENA - Philip P. Hanson, 71, formerly of Rio, died on Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2002, at the Columbia Health Care Center, Wyocena.

The funeral will be held on Thursday, Jan. 10, at 7 p.m., at the Vangen Funeral Home, Rio. The Rev. C. Keith Epps will officiate. Burial will be in the Bonnett Prairie cemetery, at a later date.

Mr. Hanson was born on April 28, 1930, in Milwaukee, the son of Robert and Ingaborg (Alme) Hanson. He was married on Aug. 9, 1967, to June M. Bublitz in Portage.

Mr. Hanson worked at a variety of jobs, including Dean's Foods, Dann and Wendt in Rio, the Rio Co-op, and Dairyland Equipment Co., from which he retired in 1992. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1953-1957.

Survivors include one son, Kevin (Marianne Corso) Hanson, Pardeeville; two daughters, Linda (Greg) Smithback, DeForest, and Lisa (Don Bednarik) Charmley, Poynette; two brothers, Greg (Beatrice) Hanson, Rio, and Elmer (Joanne) Hanson, Poynette; two sisters, Lorraine (Dave) Bleich, Rio, and Roberta (John) Wright, DePere; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, June, on Aug. 5, 2001, and his parents.

Friends may call on Thursday, Jan. 10, from 5 p.m. until the time of service at the Vangen Funeral Home, Rio.

Harold L. Stellmacher
WAUPUN - Harold L. Stellmacher, 92, a resident of the Christian Home, Waupun, died on Monday, Jan. 7, 2002, at the home.

The funeral will be held on Thursday, Jan. 10, at 10:30 a.m., at the Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home, Waupun. The Rev. Christopher Doer will officiate. Burial will be in Ledgeview Memorial Park, Fond du Lac.

Mr. Stellmacher was born on Feb. 22, 1909, in Markesan, the son of Arthur and Laura (Bock) Stellmacher. He was married on Feb. 22, 1930, to Caroline Jahns.

Mr. Stellmacher and his wife resided in Markesan most of their married life, moving to Waupun in 1988. He worked as a mechanic for an auto/farm equipment company. He was a member of Grace Ev. Lutheran Church, Waupun.

Survivors include one son, Verle Stellmacher, Oconomowoc; two sisters, Laurina Haas, Markesan, and Jean (Orin) Feldt, Sun Prairie; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Caroline, in March 2000; two sisters, and three brothers.

Friends may call on Thursday, Jan. 10, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home, Waupun.

Memorials may be made to Grace Ev. Lutheran Church, Waupun.

Leona Zingsheim
MAYVILLE - Leona Zingsheim, 93, of 1091 Horicon St., Mayville, formerly of 322 N. Milwaukee St., Theresa, died on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2002, at the Mayville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 8, at 11 a.m., at St. Theresa's Catholic Church, Theresa. The Rev. Charles Wester will officiate. Burial will be in St. Theresa's Memorial Garden, Theresa.

Mrs. Zingsheim was born on June 23, 1908, in Theresa, the daughter of Peter and Wilhemia (Mechenich) Hartmann. She was married on April 10, 1928, to Frank Zingsheim in Theresa.

Mrs. Zingsheim and her husband farmed in the Theresa area. She was a member of St. Theresa's Catholic Church, Theresa, a member of St. Ann's Sodality, an active quilt maker, made bandages for missions, and was a very devoted wife and mother.

Survivors include one daughter, Ruth (Nick) Antonioni, Mayville; one son, Lawrence (Ruth) Zingsheim, Kewaskum; one sister, Virginia (Russell) Sorensen, Wauwatosa; one brother, Arnold Hartmann, Mayville; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, and two brothers.

Friends may call on Tuesday, Jan. 8, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at St. Theresa's Catholic Church, Theresa.

The Koepsell Funeral Home, Mayville, is serving the family.

Larry L. Hoffman
FALL RIVER - Larry L. Hoffman, 59, of Fall River, formerly of Grafton, died on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2002, at his home.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 8, at 11 a.m., at St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church, Fall River. The Rev. James Bolda will officiate. Burial will be in Fall River cemetery with full military rites.

Mr. Hoffman was born on Nov. 18, 1942, in Algoma, the son of Norman and LaVerne (Poehls) Hoffman. He was married to Mary Miller.

Mr. Hoffman was a graduate of Algoma High School and the UW-Green Bay. He was a Vietnam veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy and stationed on the USS Wilkinson. He was the chief financial officer for the Fall River Group in Fall River. He was a member of the Burnett Game Farm and a member of St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church, Fall River.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Hoffman, Fall River; one daughter, Dawn (Jeff) Abts, Saukville; one son, Eric (Kari) Dombrowski, Port Washington; six grandchildren; relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call on Tuesday, Jan. 8, from 9 a.m until the time of service at St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church, Fall River.

Anthony De Graff
WAUPUN - Anthony "Tony" De Graff, 71, of Waupun, died on Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2002, at his home.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, Jan. 12, at 10:30 a.m., at Emmanuel Reformed Church, Waupun. The Rev. David Parrish will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Mound cemetery, Waupun.

Mr. De Graff was born on Oct. 6, 1930, in Waupun, the son of Anthony and Jennie (Nummerdor) De Graff Sr. He was married on Oct. 28, 1950, to Gwen Leipzig in Waupun.

The couple resided in Wisconsin Rapids, Baraboo and Columbus, where he was employed as a tree trimmer for Capital City Tree Experts. In 1960, they moved to Waupun and in 1963, he became employed as a corrections officer at the Wisconsin State Prison, retiring in 1985. He was a veteran of the Wisconsin Army National Guard, having served for 27 years. He was a member of Emmanuel Reformed Church, Waupun.

Survivors include his wife, Gwen; one daughter, Denise De Graff, Fayetteville, Ark.; two sons, Luke (Katrina) De Graff, Fayetteville, Ark., and Mark (Diana) De Graff, Anchorage, Alaska; four grandchildren, Alycia, Zachary, Gavin and Kaitlyn De Graff; three sisters, Carolyn Dama, Port Washington, Marion Hull, Waupun, and Sylvia (Myron) Hull, Waupun; relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call on Friday, Jan. 11, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home, Waupun, and on Saturday, Jan. 12, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at Emmanuel Reformed Church, Waupun.

Erwin M. Berndt
BLACK RIVER FALLS - Erwin M. Berndt, 92, of Black River Falls for the past five years, formerly of 368 S. Main St., Juneau, died on Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2002, at Pine View Nursing Home, Black River Falls.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, Jan. 12, at 2 p.m., at Peace Lutheran Church, Hartford. The Revs. Daniel Westendorf and Thomas Biedenbender will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill cemetery, Hartford.

Mr. Berndt was born on Nov. 17, 1909, in Hartford, the son of Herman and Johannah (Troeller) Berndt. He was married on June 27, 1937, to Dolores Giese at St. Matthew's Ev. Lutheran Church, Iron Ridge.

Mr. Berndt was a 1928 graduate of Hartford High School. In 1931, he received a degree in mortuary science and began his funeral service career. He was associated with his brothers Harold, Alvin and Robert. The Berndt family operated funeral homes in Hartford, Hustisford and Juneau. In 1957, he made his home in Juneau.

Mr. Berndt was a member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, Juneau, served the church in various capacities, and sang in the church choir for over 60 years. He was also a member of both the Wisconsin and National Funeral Directors Association.

Survivors include one daughter, Margaret Mary (Vernon) Severson, Black River Falls; two grandchildren, Jon (Caroline) Severson, St. Louis Park, Minn., and Amanda (Dr. Thomas) Falloon, St. Cloud, Minn.; one great-grandson, Soren Falloon, St. Cloud, Minn.; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dolores, on June 13, 1984; one daughter, Carolyn Kathryn, on July 17, 1964, and four brothers, Harold, Norbert, Alvin and Robert.

Friends may call on Saturday, Jan. 12, from 11 a.m. until the time of service at Peace Lutheran Church, Hartford.

Memorials may be made to Peace Lutheran Church, Hartford, or St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, Juneau.

Randolph J. Klassy
WATERTOWN - Randolph J. Klassy, 52, of 120 Canary Circle, Watertown, died on Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2002, at Watertown Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, Jan. 12, at 3 p.m., at United Methodist Church, Mayville. The Rev. Joyce Rich will officiate. Cremation will take place.

Mr. Klassy was born on Jan. 15, 1949, in Milwaukee, the son of Gerold and Virginia (Lowry) Klassy. He was married on July 22, 2000, to Cynthia Turicek at United Methodist Church, Mayville.

Mr. Klassy was a 1967 graduate of Washington High School, Milwaukee. He was employed with Quicksilver, Milwaukee. He was a member of a dart and pool league at Hogg Alley, Summit. He loved the out-of-doors, and was most at home in the northern woods.

Survivors include his wife, Cindy Klassy, Watertown; one stepdaughter, Michelle Turicek-Dexter, Watertown; his father, Gerold Klassy, Germantown; one sister, the Rev. Christal (Jerry) Bindrich, Mayville; two nephews, Bryan (Kristen) Klassy, Hubertus, and Steve Bindrich, Chicago; four nieces, Debbie (fiance Ken Fehrman) Bindrich, Pewaukee, Julie Brown, West Bend, Beth French, San Francisco, and Theresa (Rick) Donarski, Mayville; one great-nephew, Jacob Bindrich; relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia, in 1976, and one brother, Jerry Klassy, in 2001.

Friends may call on Saturday, Jan. 12, from 1 p.m. until the time of service at United Methodist Church, Mayville.

Memorials may be made to the family.

Esther A. Severson
PORTAGE - Esther A. Severson, 92, formerly of Rio, died on Thursday, Jan. 10, 2002, at Divine Savior Hospital, Portage.

The funeral will be held on Monday, Jan. 14, at 1:30 p.m., at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Rio. The Rev. Jerome Pribbenow will officiate. Burial will be in Ohio cemetery, Rio.

Mrs. Severson was born on Sept. 30, 1909, in Manchester, the daughter of Henry and Katharine (Horender) Walthers. She was married on June 22, 1930, to Arnold "Arnie" Severson.

Mrs. Severson lived most of her live in the village of Rio. In October of 2001 she became a resident of Columbia Health Care Center, Wyocena. She was an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Rio, and the Adah/Esther Circle.

Survivors include one son, Milan (Wanda) Severson, Rio; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Arnold, on Oct. 16, 1980; one brother, Harry; five sisters, Carrie, Gertrude, Henrietta, Irene and Lily, and one great-grandchild, Cassi Severson.

Friends may call on Monday, Jan. 14, from noon until the time of service at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Rio.

Memorials may be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church, Rio, in her memory.

Curtis L. Przekurat
DOYLESTOWN - Curtis "Chip" L. Przekurat, 30, of Doylestown, died on Thursday, Jan. 10, 2002, in the town of Elba, as the result of an automobile accident.

The funeral will be held on Monday, Jan. 14, at 11 a.m., at the Zeidler Funeral Home, Columbus. The Rev. Margaret Shepherd will officiate. Burial will be in Hillside cemetery, Columbus.

Mr. Przekurat was born on Dec. 10, 1971, in Columbus, the son of Raymond and Sue (Marshall) Przekurat.

Mr. Przekurat was a lifelong Columbus area resident. He was a graduate of Columbus High School. He was most recently employed with Sussek Machine Corporation, Waterloo.

Survivors include his parents, Raymond and Sue Przekurat, Columbus; two sons, Jesse and Spencer Przekurat, Reeseville; one sister, Candi (Mark) Tiedt, Columbus; fiancee, Jeni Mullins, and her two children; one niece; one nephew; aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, maternal grandparents, two uncles, and one aunt.

Friends may call on Sunday, Jan. 13, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Zeidler Funeral Home, Columbus.

Helen O. Wieck
LOMIRA - Helen O. Wieck, 88, formerly of Beloit, died on Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2002, at Hope Health and Rehabilitation Center, Lomira.

Mrs. Wieck was born on May 16, 1913, in Beloit, the daughter of Ernest and Mary (Gliess) Woodard. She was married in 1935, to Herman Wieck.

Mrs. Wieck and her husband lived in Beloit most of their lives. She was a member of the Second Congregational Church, Beloit, and the Beloit Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed singing and crafts.

Survivors include one son, John G. (Mei) Wieck, Hughesville, Md.; one daughter, Marva (Will) Mauthe, Madison; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman; three brothers, and one grandson.

Helen's family would like to thank the staff at Hope Health and Rehabilitation Center, Lomira, and are establishing a memorial in her name for the center.

The Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home, Waupun, is serving the family.
