Rev. William A. Stark
HORICON - Rev. William A. Stark, 63, of 905 Rue de Senoches, Horicon, died on Friday, July 5, 2002, at his home.

The funeral will be held on Monday, July 8, at 6 p.m., at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, Mayville. The Rev. Edward Blonski will officiate. Burial will be in St. John's cemetery, Mayville.

Rev. Stark was born on Nov. 12, 1938, in Milwaukee, the son of Earl W. and Luella (Gollash) Stark. He was married on June 18, 1966, to Susan Nicholas in Dallas.

Rev. Stark attended Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, graduating in 1964, with bachelor's and master's of divinity degrees. He was the former pastor of Hickory Grove Lutheran School, Boscobel, from 1994 to 2001. He most recently served St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, Mayville, as associate pastor. He was a member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, Mayville.

Survivors include his wife, Susan Stark, Horicon; six children, Paul (Christine) Stark, Portage, Jennifer (Rodney) Reuter, Rochester, Jonathan (Jolene) Stark, Arlington, Kimberly (Richard) Amerman, Elroy, Sarah (Chad) Demerath, Rochester, and Amy Stark, Poynette; 13 grandchildren; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Roger.

Friends may call on Monday, July 8, from 4 to 6 p.m., at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, Mayville.

The Koepsell Funeral Home, Mayville, is serving the family.

Mary R. Van Loo
LAKE MILLS - Mary R. Van Loo, 44, formerly of Beaver Dam, died on Friday, July 5, 2002, at Willowbrook Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Lake Mills.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, July 9, at 11 a.m., at the Jones-Jensen Funeral Home, Columbus. The Rev. James Admiraal will officiate. Burial will be in Bethel cemetery, town of Elba.

Mrs. Van Loo was born on Nov. 5, 1957, in Ashland, the daughter of Thomas H. and Joyce (Moran) Jones. She was married on Aug. 25, 1983, to David Van Loo in Juneau.

Mrs. Van Loo attended Columbus High School. She was emplopyed as a nurses aid for Dodge County Health Facility, and was a clerk at Amoco, Beaver Dam, and most recently enjoyed being a caring grandma.

Survivors include her husband, David Van Loo, Beaver Dam; one son, John (Christa) Birkey Jr., Manawa; three daughters, Stacy Grahn, Beaver Dam,; Amanda (fiance Ted Petrie) Miller, Longmont, Colo., and Debra Reuterskiold, Beaver Dam; three stepchildren, Michelle Van Loo, Beaver Dam, Sherri Van Loo, Randolph, and Bradley Van Loo, Beaver Dam; four grandchildren; her father, Thomas H. Jones, Fall River; one sister, Linda (Russell) Bradley, Fall River; two brothers, James (Pam) Jones, and Roger Jones, both of Fall River; relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Joyce Jones, in 1996, and one brother, Thomas G. Jones, in 1988.

Friends may call on Monday, July 8, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Jones-Jensen Funeral Home, Columbus.

Arlo Pederson
Arlo "Sarge" Pederson, 89, of Beaver Dam, formerly of 144 Judson Drive, died on Sunday, July 7, 2002, at the Beaver Dam Care Center.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, July 10, at 11 a.m., at St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam. The Rev. Mark Lindner will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens, town of Trenton. Graveside military rites will be provided by the Horicon American Legion Post No. 157.

Mr. Pederson was born on Dec. 11, 1912, in Oslo, Norway, the son of Edward and Josephine (Gunderson) Pederson. He was married to Ruth Gallenbeck on Feb. 24, 1940.

Mr. Pederson was a fireman for the Milwaukee Road Railroad and also a maintenance man for Clearview Nursing Home, Juneau. He was a member of St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam. He served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Beaver Dam American Legion Post No. 146.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth, Beaver Dam; his children, Loretta (Ken) Gedamke, Waupun, Roger (Yvonne) Pederson, Beaver Dam, Tom (Ruth) Pederson, Watertown, and Alan Pederson, Delafield; two brothers, Oscar Pederson, Green Bay, Hilmar Pederson, Seattle, Wash., and one sister, Clara Ruth Pavelka, Beaver Dam; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Joyce Karr; one sister, Goldie Wickman, and three brothers, Einar, Julian and Martin.

Friends may call on Wednesday, July 10, from 10 to 11 a.m., at St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam.

Thelma Horton
CAMBRIA - Thelma Horton, 88, of Cambria, died on Sunday, July 7, 2002, at her home.

The funeral will be held on Thursday, July 11, at 211 a.m., at the First Presbyterian Church, Cambria. The Rev. Paul Hudson will officiate. Burial will be in Marcellon cemetery, Marcellon township, Columbia County.

Mrs. Horton was born on Sept. 22, 1913, in Waupun, Fond du Lac County, the daughter of Ed and Grace (Kampstra) Osterhoff. She was married to Ardon Horton on Dec. 16, 1933, in Dalton.

Mrs. Horton attended the County Line Country School. She and her husband farmed until moving to the Village of Cambria, where she found seasonal employment with the Columbia Canning Co. (Del Monte), and Friday Canning Co., handling various duties. For many years, she worked for Adams Grocery and Chris Shopping Center in Cambria, as a meat wrapper and stock person. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Cambria, and its Dorcas Circle.

Survivors include one son, Edward (Rose) Horton, Cambria; three daughters, Gloria (Jack) Slinger, Cambria, Karen (Dennis) Siewert, Markesan, and Rita (Duane) Burmania, Cambria; 16 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Russell Osterhoff, Cambria; special daughter-in-law, Mary Brooks; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ardon on June 8, 1990; one son, Tom; one granddaughter; one great-grandson; two brothers, John and Harry; one sister in infancy, and a dear friend Norman Smits.

Friends may call on Wednesday, July 10, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the Kratz-Smedema Funeral Home, Cambria, and on Thursday, July 11, from 10 a.m. until the time of service, at the First Presbyterian Church, Cambria.

Mabel Parker Vincent
MADISON - Mabel Parker Vincent died on Tuesday, July 9, 2002, at the Don and Marilyn Anderson HospiceCare Center, Madison, after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson's disease.

A gathering of friends will occur in Beaver Dam at a time to be announced later.

Mrs. Parker Vincent was born on Oct. 10, 1922, in Beaver Dam, the daughter of Albert A. and Ella B. Parker. She was married to George Vincent in 1945, in New York City.

Mrs. Parker Vincent graduated from Beaver Dam High School and the University of Wisconsin-Madison, earning a bachelor's degree in dietetics. She interned in the Army at Fitzsimmon's General Hospital in Colorado, where she met her husband. She worked at New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center until 1949, when they moved to Switzerland, where George sang with the Basel Stadt Opera Co. and throughout Europe. Upon her husband's sudden death in 1955, she returned to Beaver Dam where she has resided the last 46 years. She worked at Beaver Dam Community Hospital as the assistant director of food service until her retirement.

Survivors include one daughter, Julie, Madison; one son, Stephen (Kimberly Cass), Redlands, Calif.; two granddaughters, Erzsebet and Alexia; one brother, Richard; nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by an infant daughter; her husband, George; her parents; her sisters, Betty and Hazel, and a brother, Lee.

Memorials may be made to the Don and Marilyn Anderson HospiceCare Center or to Parkinson's research.

The family wishes to thank the staff at the Don and Marilyn Anderson HospiceCare Center for the wonderful care given during her last days.

Alton Liddicoat
Alton "Al" Liddicoat, 77, of 144 Dana Drive, Beaver Dam, died on Sunday, July 7, 2002, at St. Mary's Hospital, Madison.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, July 12, at 11 a.m., at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Beaver Dam. The Rev. William Key will officiate. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Catholic cemetery. Graveside military rites will be provided by American Legion Post No. 146.

Mr. Liddicoat was born on Feb. 10, 1925, in Linden, the son of Gilmore and Joyce (Alton) Liddicoat. He was married on Nov. 4, 1950, to Mary Louise Morgan at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Beaver Dam.

Mr. Liddicoat graduated from Linden High School in 1942 as valedictorian of his class. He attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison for one year, then enlisted in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1946. While serving in the Navy, he attended Officers Training School at Dartmouth and Columbia universities. After returning home from the Navy, he returned to UW-Madison and graduated in 1948. He was hired by Green Giant Co., Beaver Dam and LeSueur, Minn., where he worked for 25 years in several managerial positions. He then purchased the R.J. Meier Insurance Agency, Beaver Dam, in 1973 and ran it until his retirement 27 years later. While in LeSueur, Minn., he was very active as a coach in Little League (youth baseball), Lions Club, Knights of Columbus, St. Anne's Catholic Church, City Planning Commission and was also a Boy Scoutmaster. After returning to Beaver Dam, he was an active member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Beaver Dam Chamber of Commerce, Knights of Columbus, Beaver Dam city councilman, charter member of Beaver Dam Lions Club, where he served as president and extensively involved himself with the Eye Bank and also was elected to the Dodge County Board of Supervisors from 1979 to the present.

Survivors include his wife, Mary, Beaver Dam; his children, Deborah (Tom) Gillis, Willmar, Minn, Michael Liddicoat, Chaska, Minn, Scott (Debbie) Liddicoat, Green Bay, Jeffrey Liddicoat, Ripon, James (Lori) Liddicoat, Beaver Dam, John (Kim) Liddicoat, Brodhead, and Brian (Dawn) Liddicoat, Watertown; sisters and brothers, Barbara Liddicoat, Tampa, Fla, Donna (Royce) Lindauer, Clearwater, Fla., Paul (Sally) Liddicoat, Cottage Grove, Peter (Jennifer) Liddicoat, Waunakee, Peggy (Bob) Nelson, Kenosha and Mark (Jean) Liddicoat, Madison; 11 grandchildren, Jennifer, Sarah, Timothy, Becca, Adrian, Damon, Joshua, Ryan, Arianna, Kaitlyn and Christina; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call on Thursday, July 11, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Koepsell Funeral Home, Beaver Dam, and on Friday, July 12, from 10 a.m. until the closing service at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

Memorials to the Lion's Foundation are appreciated.

Alma Broadway

WAUPUN - Alma Broadway, 76, of Waupun, died on Friday, July 12, 2002, at the Christian Home, Waupun.

The funeral is pending with the Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home, Waupun.

Leroy Decker
FOX LAKE - Leroy "Kayo" Decker, 76, of Fox Lake, died on Saturday, July 13, 2002, at Waupun Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, July 16, at 7 p.m., at the First Presbyterian Church, Fox Lake. The Rev. Jack Harle will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Park cemetery, Fox Lake. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the Robert W. Ginther American Legion Post 521.

Mr. Decker was born on Aug. 25, 1925, in Hartford, Conn., the son of George and Grace (Canavan) Decker. He was married on April 6, 1946, to Norma Vande Zande at the Reformed Church, Waupun.

Mr. Decker attended school in New Haven, Conn., until enlisting in the U.S. Navy, serving from 1942 to 1946. He and his wife lived in Waupun for five years until moving to Fox Lake, where they resided since. He worked for Huth and James, Waupun, and (Weyco) (Weyenberg Shoe Factory), Beaver Dam. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Fox Lake, and the Robert W. Ginther American Legion Post 521, Fox Lake, for 39 years. He was an avid Yankee's fan, enjoyed bowling, lawn jarts, horseshoes and found great pleasure playing cards and checkers with his grandchildren. He will always be remembered as a man who had a unique way of communicating with others and enjoyed a good debate.

He will be sadly missed and mourned by his wife of 56 years, Norma Decker, Fox Lake; five children, Terry (Kathleen) Decker, Waupun, Mike (Marcia) Decker, Beaver Dam, Bob (Debbie Mulder) Decker, Mayville, Vince "Ben" (Ellen) Decker, Waupun, and Gale (Oscar) Hartwig, Horicon; 14 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; one great-grandson; two brothers, Vincent (Evelyn) Decker, Hamden, Conn., and George Decker, New Haven, Conn.; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two grandchildren, and two brothers, Robert and Charles.

Friends may call on Tuesday, July 16, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the First Presbyterian Church, Fox Lake.

Ruth Williamson
ALLOUEZ - Ruth Williamson, 94, of Allouez, died on Saturday, July 13, 2002.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, July 16, at 1 p.m., at the Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N. Webster Ave., De Pere. The Rev. Allen Stoll will officiate. Burial will be in the Brandon cemetery.

Mrs. Williamson was born on Oct. 14, 1907, in Almond, the daughter of Charles and Florence (Achilles) Hamilton. She was married on Aug. 23, 1925, to Julius Williamson in Stevens Point.

Mrs. Willamson spent most of her life in Brandon, Beaver Dam, and Zephyrhills, Fla., then moved to Ripon before moving to the Green Bay area. She was an active member of the Eastern Star, Waupun.

Survivors include her three daughters, Jean Henke, Green Bay, Ila (Joe) Hunt, Green Lake, and Pamela Kaul, Beaver Dam; five grandchildren, Kristine (Bill) Walch, Brian (Lisa) Williams, Jill (Richard) Harkoff, Robert Hunt, and Katie Hunt; four great-grandchildren; relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Julius Williamson; her parents; one sister, Fern, and one brother, Ray.

Friends may call on Tuesday, July 16, from 11 a.m. until the time of service at the Cotter Funeral Home, De Pere.

Ruth's family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Wyndemere CBRF, and Unity Hospice for the compassionate care they provided to mom.

Memorials may be made to Unity Hospice in Ruth's name.

Mary Wolfe
Mary "Kitty" Wolfe, 88, of Beaver Dam, formerly of Madison, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 14, 2002, at Hillside Manor, Beaver Dam.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, July 17, at 11:30 a.m., at the Murray Community Funeral Home, Beaver Dam. The Rev. Douglas Westenburg will officiate. Burial will be in Ridgewood cemetery, Des Plaines, Ill.

Mrs. Wolfe was born on Nov. 4, 1913, in Chicago, the daughter of Jacob and Mary Catherine (Kraemer) Walter.

Mrs. Wolfe was a graduate of Carl Schurz High School and continued her studies in piano at Alvernia Conservatory of Music. On Sept. 12, 1942, she was united in marriage to Elvin C. Wolfe of Baraboo. In 1970, the couple and their family moved to Madison where she continued to live until moving to Beaver Dam in 1988, to be closer to her family. She was a charming, gracious and generous lady who was very devoted to her family, her church and to working with children. She was an active member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Madison. For many years she worked as a volunteer tutor with children at Gompers Elementary School. She loved her roses, African violets, reading, cooking and music. She lived her values of honesty and kindness.

Well done Kitty. We love you and will deeply miss you.

Survivors include two daughters, Janice Wolfe, Beaver Dam, and Jennifer Joyce (Frank) Winter, Watertown; seven grandchildren, Matthew, Jeremy, Kara, Eric, Gina, Jenny, and Tammi; five great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elvin Wolfe, on July 14, 1986; one son, Roger, in 1943; three brothers, and two sisters.

Friends may call on Wednesday, July 17, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the Murray Community Funeral Home, Beaver Dam.

Memorials may be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Madison, or St. John's Lutheran Church, Juneau.
