Warren A. Gill
HORICON - Warren A. Gill, 82, of Horicon, died on Thursday, Feb. 6, 2003, at Beaver Dam Community Hospital.

The funeral will be held on Monday, Feb. 10, at 11 a.m., at the Christian Life Fellowship Church in Mayville. The Revs. David Kok and Roy McKain will officiate. Burial will be in the Oakhill cemetery, Horicon, with military graveside services conducted by the Horicon American Legion Post 157.

Warren was born on Nov. 3, 1920, in Waupun, the son of Arthur and Blanche (Radke) Gill. He was married to Irene Lentz on June 6, 1964, in Milwaukee.

Warren was a graduate of Horicon High School. He then served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the European Theater and was a member of the Horicon American Legion Post 157. He worked for the U.S. post office in Horicon as a rural carrier for over 32 years. He was a member of the Chamber of Commerce, the Izaak Walton League and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. He loved to sing and sang with the Beaver Dam Barbershoppers for many years. He was a past member of the Methodist Church in Horicon, its choir and taught Sunday school there. He was presently a member of the Christian Life Fellowship Church in Mayville, where he served as a board member and sang in the choir. He owned and operated the Warren A. Gill Printing business out of his home for many years. Warren A. loved to call Horicon his home. He had a real love for his family and was an avid Packer fan. His love for the Lord was his passion and was expressed by his words and actions.

Survivors include his wife, Irene Gill, Horicon; two daughters, Cynthia B. (Todd) Turzinski, Greenville, and Karen J. (Bryce) Ingalls, White Bear Lake; one grandson, Tyler J. Turzinski; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Charles on July 19, 1994.

Friends may call on Sunday, Feb. 9, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Murray Community Funeral Home, Horicon, and on Monday, Feb. 10, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Christian Life Fellowship Church in Mayville.

The Murray Community Funeral Home, Horicon, is serving the family.

Mildred M. Neitzel
Mildred M. Neitzel, 88, of Lakecrest Drive, Beaver Dam, and formerly of Fox Lake, died on Friday, Feb. 7, 2003, at Beaver Dam Community Hospital.

The funeral was held on Monday, Feb. 10, at 11 a.m., at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam. The Rev. Kurtis Mau officiated. Burial was in Riverside Memorial Park, Fox Lake.

Mildred was born on March 14, 1914, in the town of Portland, the daughter of Arthur and Sophia (Yerges) Scheele. She was married to George A. Neitzel on Dec. 17, 1932, in Illinois.

Mildred was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam, and was active in the Ladies Aid Association and Altar Guild. She was a past member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, Fox Lake, and its Ladies Aid Association and Altar Guild.

Survivors include her children, Harris (Shirley) Neitzel, Beaver Dam, Duane (Elaine) Neitzel, Madison, Phyllis (Richard) Schmid, Beaver Dam, Judy (Ernest) Fassbender, Rubicon, Maxine (James) Ferron, Beaver Dam, and Susan Roedl, Beaver Dam; two sisters, Lorraine Lord, West Bend, and Doris (Gene) Sherry, Waukesha; 23 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two brothers-in-law, Carl (Elaine) Neitzel, Madison, and Edward (Verna) Neitzel, Beaver Dam; one sister-in-law, Gladys Scheele, Watertown; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George in 2001; one daughter, Karen Neitzel in 1961; four grandchildren; two sons-in-law, Hank Vredeveld and Robert Roedl; two brothers, Harold and Frederick Scheele; and two sisters, Marion Zilisch and Helen Murphy.

Friends called Monday, Feb. 10, from 9 to 11 a.m., at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Good Shepherd Lutheran Preschool.

The Koepsell Funeral Home, Beaver Dam, is served the family.

Louis O. Kollmansberger
MAYVILLE - Louis O. Kollmansberger, 87, of N190259 Highway V, Mayville, died on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2003, at St. Agnes Hospital, Fond du Lac.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 11, at 5 p.m., at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Mayville. The Rev. Geoffrey Hoy will officiate. Inurnment will be in St. Luke's cemetery, Knowles.

Louis was born on March 27, 1915, in Milwaukee, the son of Michael and Lillian (Sterr) Kollmansberger. He was married to Genevieve Grabow on Feb. 9, 1937, in Michigan.

Louis retired from Mayville Metal Products. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Mayville. He also worked at CCC camp in Elco.

Survivors include two sons, James (Monika) Kollmansberger, Oconomowoc, and Russel (Mary) Kollmansberger, Pewaukee; four daughters, Sallie (Glen) Duncan, Minneapolis, Minn., Joan Gipp, Mayville, Debbie (Michael) Lord, Greenwood, and Nancy (Doyle) Bartsch, Mayville; one sister, Maxine Franke, Mayville; two brothers, Arnold (Anna) Kollmansberger, Kekoskee, and Leo (Elaine) Kollmansberger, Mayville; 15 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife in 1993; one daughter, Jean; three brothers, Clarence, Benno, and Edwin, and one granddaughter, Sylvia.

Friends may call on Tuesday, Feb. 11, from 2 to 5 p.m., at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Mayville.

Robert C. Gauger
RANDOLPH - Robert C. Gauger, 67, died on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2003, at Continental Manor, Randolph.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 12, at 11 a.m., at Emanuel Lutheran Church, Brandon. The Rev. Kevin Scheuller will officiate. Inurnment will take place in the Brandon cemetery, village of Brandon, at a later date.

Robert was born on Feb. 13, 1935, in Oshkosh, the son of William and Gretchen (Krause) Gauger. He was married to Janice Raube on Dec. 14, 1957, at the Emanuel Lutheran Church, Brandon

Robert was a 1953 graduate of Brandon High School. He and his wife owned and operated a dairy farm in the Brandon area until his retirement in 1992. He then was employed as a school bus driver for 10 years. He was a member of the Emanuel Lutheran Church, Brandon.

Survivors include his wife, Janice, Ripon; three daughters, Susan Gauger, Des Moines, Iowa, Sheryl (Ronald) Leemon, McFarland, and Sandi (Steve) Hammer, Burnett; one son, Charles (Danielle) Gauger, Markesan; two grandchildren, Brittney and Cory Leemon, and one aunt, Evelyn Bell, Lake Geneva

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, and one brother, Wayne Gauger.

Friends may call on Tuesday, Feb. 11, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon.

A memorial has been established.

David L. Gritzmacher
TROY, Ill. - David "Dave" L. Gritzmacher, 62, of Troy, Ill., died on Friday, Feb. 7, 2003, at his home.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 11, at 11 a.m., at Allan and Ciuferi Funeral Home, Collinsville, Ill. The Rev. James Zimmerman will officiate. Burial will be in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic cemetery, Collinsville, Ill.

David was born on Sept. 19, 1940, in Burnett, the son of Lester and Marvel (Knoll) Gritzmacher. He was married to Sandy Grabowski of Troy, Ill.

He was an over-the-road truck driver for Marten Transport, Mondovi. He attended grade school in Burnett and graduated from Horicon High School in 1958 and immediately went into the Marines.

Survivors include his wife, Sandy, Troy, Ill.; one son, Max (Missy) Gritzmacher, Beaver Dam; one daughter, Karri (Gary) Strassburg, Beaver Dam; two stepsons, Don Schmerbauch, Glen Carbon, Ill., and Ron Geaschel, Hillsboro, Ill.; two stepdaughters, Pam (Paul) Strausbaugh, Worden, Ill., and Micki (Mike) Pedigo, Troy, Ill.; one brother, Darrell (Grace) Gritzmacher, Burnett; one sister, Mony (Albert) Klavekoske, Beaver Dam; six grandchildren, Jake Strausbaugh, Brandon and Brianna Strassburg, Kevin and Angela Pedigo, and Maddy Gritzmacher; his mother-in-law, Cleo Anderson, Troy, Ill., and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Lester (Junior) Gritzmacher.

Friends may call on Monday, Feb. 10, from 4 to 8 p.m., at Allan and Ciuferi Funeral Home, Collinsville, Ill.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Troy, Ill.

Joyce A. Plato
FOX LAKE - Joyce Anna Plato, 52, of Fox Lake, died on Thursday, Feb. 6, 2003, at Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, Feb. 14, at 2 p.m., at the Assembly of God Church, Waupun. The Rev. Jeff Casper will officiate.

Joyce was born on July 12, 1950, in Ladysmith, the daughter of Jay and Edna (Johnson) Woodruff. She was married to Steve Plato in 1967, in Juneau.

Joyce was employed with Karavan Trailers, Fox Lake, until having to retire early due to her illness. She was a loving wife, mother, grandma and sister, spending her free time with loved ones, and caring for her children as a stay at home mom for 18 years. She enjoyed fishing, crocheting and knitting, crossword puzzles and Sunday drives.

She will be sadly missed and mourned by her husband, Steve, Fox Lake; her children, Wendy (friend Shane Hiley) Mecklenberg, Debra (Charles) Francis, Sandra (Randall) Paulson, Amy (friend Justin Scott) Plato, Jennifer (Lester) Huffman, Jason Plato, twins, Nicholas and Nichole; grandchildren, Adam and Patrick Mecklenberg, Brice Hiley, Victor and Dustin Sunderland, Justin, Jake and Jerika Paulson, Robert Youmans, Michael Hill, Chandler Wanishek, Cody and Austin Huffman; her sisters and brothers, Joy, her twin sisters, (Edward) Gielspie, Georgia (Frank) Guerra, Irvin (Linda) Woodruff, Loucille (Morlowe) Johnston, and Marlyn (Randy) Smith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Joseph Woodruff.

The family will greet relatives and friends on Friday, Feb. 14, from 1 p.m., until the time of services at the Assembly of God Church, Waupun.

The Kratz-Smedema Funeral Home, Fox Lake, is serving the family.

Edward J. Manke
WATERTOWN - Edward J. Manke, 70, 305 E. Spaulding St., Watertown, died on Friday evening, Feb. 7, 2003, at St. Mary's Hospital, Madison.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 12, at 11 a.m., at St. Henry Catholic Church, Watertown. The Rev. Bernard Rott will officiate. Burial will be at St. Henry Catholic cemetery, Watertown. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the Watertown Veterans Council.

Edward J. Manke was born Feb. 21, 1932, to Lester A. and Mary W. (Doyle) Manke, in Waukesha. He was married to Viola E. Kreuser on Oct. 10, 1970, at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, Watertown.

Survivors include one daughter, Tina Manke, Watertown; two sons, Jeff (Kirsten) of Neenah and Edward of Watertown; seven sisters: Betty (Richard) Marx, Jefferson, Ruth (Ken) Brown, Jackson, Loretta (Al) Budde, Beaver Dam, Helen (Wallace) Lasowski, Tampa, Fla., Louise (Bill) Logar, Henderson, Nev., Bernice (Roger) Verkenis, Milwaukee, and Carol (Jim) Harris, Oconomowoc; three grandchildren; Coty Frick, Alex Mishun and Layla Manke; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was proceded in death by his parents, his wife Viola on May 28, 1998; two sisters, Margie Manke and Mary Ellen Manke, and two brothers; Jack Manke and Jimmy Manke.

Ed was employed by Waukesha Foundry Dresser Industries in Waukesha as an inspector. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church in Watertown. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Ed loved the outdoors and appreciated the beauty of Northern Wisconsin. He enjoyed gardening and riding his four wheeler. He loved animals, especially his dogs.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, Feb. 11, from 3 to 7 p.m., at the Hafemeister Funeral Home, Watertown, and on Wednesday, Feb. 12, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at St. Henry Catholic Church, Watertown.

Clarence E. Rake
BEMIDJI, Minn. - Clarence C. Rake, 77, of Bemidji, Minn., and formerly of Waupun, died unexpectedly Sunday, Feb. 9, 2003, at his home.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Feb. 13, at 11 a.m., at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 525 W. Main St., Waupun. The Rev. Kathryn Ulrich will officiate. Inurnment will be in Oakwood cemetery, Beaver Dam, with military honors conducted by the American Legion Post 210 of Waupun.

Clarence was born on Dec. 9, 1925, in Beaver Dam, the son of Henry and Stella (Lemanski) Rake. He was married to Lorraine Patrick, and she preceded him in death in 1953. He then married Betty Ann Muetzenberg, and she preceded him in death in 1999.

Clarence was raised, educated and graduated from Beaver Dam High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served his country from 1946-47 as a drill sergeant. He owned and operated the Atwater Feed Mill, Atwater. In the early 1970s, he started as a regional manager for Farm Service Cooperative in Rosendale. He retired in the mid 1980s and moved to live with his daughter, Kim in Bemidji, Minn., in 1999. He enjoyed woodworking and hunting.

Survivors include three daughters, Barbara Rake, Milwaukee, Stella Rake, Winston-Salem, N.C. and Kim Thomas, Bemidji, Minn.; two sons, Kurt (Theresa) Rake, and Keith (Charlotte) Rake, both of Adams; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers, Marvin Rake, Lakewood, Fla., and Donald Rake, Waupun.

He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Cheryl Rake, and by his parents.

Friends may call on Thursday, Feb. 13, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Waupun.

The Cease Family Funeral Home, Bemidji, Minn., and the Kohls Community Funeral Home, Waupun, are assisting the family.

Christine S. Chantry
RESTON, Va. - Christine S. Chantry, 50, of Reston, Va., died on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2003, in the Anova Fairfax Hospital, Falls Church, Va.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 12, at 2 p.m., at St. John's Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam. The Rev. Paul Lindau will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens, town of Trenton.

Christine was born on April 24, 1952, in Beaver Dam, the daughter of Russell and Elaine (Foreman) Kroll. She was married to William Chantry Jr. on Oct. 6, 1984, in Jamison House, Poynette.

Christine was in media relations at UW-Baraboo for four years. She also worked in media relations at University Hospital, Madison. She was managing editor of the National Association of Biology Teachers. She attained a bachelor of arts degree from UW-Stevens Point and a master's degree in journalism from UW-Madison.

Survivors include her husband, William Chantry Jr. PhD., Reston, Va.; two children, Heidi Nicole Chantry and William Chantry, Reston, Va.; her parents, Russell and Elaine Kroll, Beaver Dam, one nephew, Jonathan Kroll, Beaver Dam; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Kroll on Nov. 8, 1999.

Friends may call on Wednesday, Feb. 12, from 1 p.m. until the time of service at St. John's Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam.

Memorials are appreciated to the American Cancer Society and St. John's Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam.

John Clarence Beder
John Clarence Beder, 56, died Monday, Feb. 10, 2003 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minn.

John was born to the late Alvin and Anita (Krebs) Beder in Allenton, and married Mary Wittkowske on Nov. 27, 1965 in Allenton.

The couple moved from Wisconsin to Dodge Center, Minn. in 1983.

John was employed with McNeilus Truck Inc., and was a member of St. John Baptist De La Salle Catholic Church in Dodge Center.

John enjoyed hunting, fishing and bowling.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Sharri and husband, Charles Beder-James of Dodge Center; two sons, Steven and his wife, Kay Beder of Bay City and Scott Beder of Kasson, Minn.; four sisters, Agnes and husband George Wagner of Hartford, Ruth and husband, Ed Flasch of Allenton, Theresa and husband, Charles Vogt of West Bend and Clair and husband, Mike Nagel of Arlington; three brothers, Paul and wife, Diana Beder of Waupun, Frank and wife, Karen Beder of Iron Ridge and Lawrence and wife, Chris Beder of Hartford; two grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were a brother and a sister.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 13 at St. John De La Salle Catholic Church.

Rev. LaVern Trocinski will be the celebrant, and interment will be in Wildwood cemetery in Wasioja, Minn.

Friends and family may call at the Czaplewski Family Funeral Home in Dodge Center, Minn. on Wednesday, Feb. 12 from 4 to 8 p.m., and an hour before the service at the church on Thursday.

Rosary will be at 8 p.m. at the funeral home on Wednesday.
