Margie A Caplinger
Williamstown, WV
Margie A. Caplinger, 82, of Williamstown,
passed away March 12, 2008, at Camden-Clark
Memorial Hospital.
She was born May 6, 1925, in Wood County, a
daughter of the late Henry E. and Rose M.
Lockhart Stilgenbauer.
Margie was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church
and was a former employee of Grossman Shoe
Factory as a machine operator and also Yonkers
Clothing Manufacturing.
Survivors include her husband, Willard L.
Caplinger; and three sons, Michael L.
Caplinger and David L. Caplinger, both of
Williamstown, and Steven M. Caplinger of
Parkersburg.
She was the last surviving member of her
immediate family being preceded in death by
her parents; two brothers, Dale Stilgenbauer
and Clarence Stilgenbauer; and a sister, Ruth
Murrey.
The funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at
Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg, with Pastor David Carpenter, the
Rev. Dr. William Thomas and the Rev. Rick
Brown officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen
South Cemetery. Friends may call from noon
until service time at 1 p.m. Saturday at the
funeral home.

Viola Miller West Snider
Parkersburg, WV
Viola Miller West Snider, 75, of Parkersburg,
passed away March 7, 2008, at Camden-Clark
Memorial Hospital.
Viola was born Aug. 18, 1932, in Jackson
County, a daughter of the late Corbitt Miller
and Nellie Bush Miller Williams. Viola was a
member of Landmark Baptist Church.
She is survived by one sister, Ellie Miller of
Parkersburg; a half sister, Hazel Leasure in
Ohio; several nieces and nephews including her
niece and caregiver for over 20 years, Diane
Milhoan (Gordon) of Parkersburg; and three
aunts, Beulah Starcher of Cottageville and
Geraldine Hard and Macel Combs, both of Vienna.
In addition to her parents, Viola was preceded
in death by her first husband, Jim West, her
second husband, Roy Snider, and many brothers
and sisters.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at
Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg, with Pastor Jerry Caplinger
officiating. Burial will follow at the Bethany
Christian Church Cemetery on New England
Ridge. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8
p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mary Virginia Eaton Hartshorn Duckworth
Mineral Wells, WV
Mary Virginia Eaton Hartshorn Duckworth, 72,
of Mineral Wells, passed away March 2, 2008,
at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown.
She was born June 21, 1935, at Wadesville, a
daughter of the late Earl F. Eaton and Opal O.
Fogelsong Eaton. Virginia was a member of
Unity Faith Chapel and was a former employee
of American Viscose and Universal Supply and
also worked for the City of Parkersburg as a
crossing guard. She also loved and enjoyed
quilting.
She is survived by her husband, Marvin O.
Duckworth; one son, Ronald Hartshorn and his
wife, Freda, of Belleville; one daughter,
Deborah Alderman and her husband, Russ, of
Petersburg, Va.; one stepson, Brian Duckworth
and his wife, Susie, of Philadelphia, Miss.;
one stepdaughter, Kimberly Duckworth of
Parkersburg; three grandchildren, Ronald
Keslar, Nicole Joy Johnson and Kenneth
Hartshorn; three step grandchildren, Crystal
Lorentz, George Casto and Abbie Wilson; five
great-grandchildren; two step great-
grandchildren; and two brothers, Kenneth Eaton
and his wife, Glenda, of Parkersburg and
Graydon Dale Eaton of Mineral Wells.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded
in death by a daughter, Louise Ellen
Hartshorn; and two brothers, Lloyd Frederick
Eaton and Harold Edward Eaton.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at
the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Mineral Wells, with
Pastor Lloyd Keith officiating. At Virginia’s
request, there will be no visitation or
viewing.
Kimes Funeral Home, Parkersburg, is assisting
the family with the arrangements.

David Keith Rockhold
Parkersburg, WV
David Keith Rockhold, 49, of Parkersburg,
passed away March 1, 2008, at the University
of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
David was born Nov. 19, 1958, in Parkersburg,
a son of the late Eugene and Claracy L. Cooper
Rockhold. He was affiliated with Trinity
United Methodist Church and had been employed
at Bob Evans, Golden Corral and Ryans. He
enjoyed bowling, watching television, fishing
and attended the Day Care Center at Westbrook
Health Care Services.
He is survived by two brothers, Donald
Rockhold and his wife, Sue, of Chillicothe,
Ohio, and James E. Cooper of Waverly, Ohio;
one sister, Cathy Dingess and her husband,
Dennie, of Parkersburg; and six nieces and
nephews, Brad and Melissa, Katie and Ray and
Matt and Jill.
Funeral services will be 6 p.m. Wednesday at
Kimes Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Pastor
Dobbie Thrash officiating. His body will then
be cremated and interred at Evergreen North
Cemetery.

Richard Ray (Dick) Wilson
Parkersburg, WV
Sgt. 1st Class Richard Ray “Dick” Wilson, 68,
of Emerson Avenue, Parkersburg, passed away
Feb. 28, 2008, at Camden-Clark Memorial
Hospital in Parkersburg.
He was born July 31, 1939, in Parkersburg, a
son of the late Millard Ray and Genevieve
Vensel Wilson.
Richard was a 1960 graduate of Parkersburg
High School and completed an associate’s
degree in military management from the
University of Charleston in 1988. He attended
the Crossroads United Methodist Church. He
retired from active duty with the West
Virginia National Guard, 1092nd Battalion in
1995, having served 40 years in various
capacities including parts clerk, wheeled
vehicle mechanic, motor sergeant, demolitions
specialist and area retention NCO. Prior to
his active duty service, he was employed with
Hornor & Harrison Fine Clothing Store for 10
years.
Richard was a member and past president of the
enlisted association of the National Guard of
West Virginia, was a member of the American
Legion Post 15 of Parkersburg, the Parkersburg
NCO Club and was formerly active with the
Parkersburg area Jaycees, the Parkersburg High
School Big Red Band Boosters, the Cub Scout
Pack 7 and Boy Scout Troop 4.
Surviving is his wife of 43 years, Karen J.
Wiggins Wilson whom he married on June 27,
1964; two sons, Darren R. Wilson and his wife,
Melissa, of Parkersburg and Derek R. Wilson
and his fiance, April Fought, of Parkersburg;
two brothers, Joseph B. Wilson and his wife,
Sharon, of Parkersburg and Terry L. Wilson and
his wife, Vicki, of Parkersburg; three
grandchildren, Abigail, Philip and Olivia, all
of Parkersburg; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Kathy
Bell.
The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at
Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg, with the Rev. John Frum and
Pastor Rufus Hoalcraft officiating. Burial
will follow at the Bethel Presbyterian Church
Cemetery with military graveside rites. The
visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.
Saturday at the funeral home.
