Irma G. Starcher

Irma G. Starcher, 98, of Parkersburg, WV passed away Saturday, March 12, 2005 at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.

She was born February 26, 1907 in Slate, WV, a daughter of the late Bud and Mary Clinton Morrison. She was a former member of Rockland United Methodist Church and was a homemaker.

Irma is survived by one son, Bob Starcher, and his wife, Ruth, of Parkersburg, WV; and one grandson, Joe Starcher, of Chicago, IL.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert O. Starcher, in 1985; four sisters; and two brothers.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 15, 2005 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike Street, south Parkersburg, WV with the Reverend Danny McVey and the Reverend Harley Starcher officiating. Burial will follow in the Riverview Cemetery, Williamstown, WV. Friends may call from 6 - 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Ralph E. Lott

Ralph Etzel Lott, 95, formerly of Belpre, Ohio died March 7, 2005 at Heartland of Marietta, Ohio.

He was born August 2, 1909 in Wirt County, WV, a son of the late Walker B. and Lena Smith Lott. He was retired from Miller Trailers and was a charter member of Broadway Baptist Church.

Ralph is survived by one son, James Earl Lott, of Aurora, CO; four grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and one stepsister, Evelyn Goudy, of Vienna, WV.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dulcy Connolly Lott; one grandson, James E. Lott, Jr.; five brothers; and one stepsister.

Memorial services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 15, 2005 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green Street, Parkersburg, WV with the Reverend Dwane Porter officiating.

Suzan Joan Pearson

Suzan Joan Pearson, 75, of Parkersburg, WV went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 10, 2005 from her residence.

She was born June 15, 1929 in Belpre, Ohio, a daughter of the late Ralph R. and May Morris Knowles. She had worked at Corning Glass and was a member of Calvary Memorial Church. Joan and her late husband, Ed, were both actively involved in the local amputee support group. Joan was always ready to help others by giving of her time and talents. She especially enjoyed cooking and delivering meals, with the help of Ed, to those in need. She was a 'mother' to many, ready to lend a helping hand and take the time to stop and listen with a loving heart. She will be remembered for her service and care for others.

Joan is survived by two daughters, Suzan Stephens of Petroleum, WV and Lisa Hostetler of Hendersonville, NC; one step-son, Stephen Pearson of California; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin A. Pearson, who passed away December 26, 2004; two brothers; and four sisters.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 12, 2005 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green Street, Parkersburg, WV with Reverend Jeff Adkins officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

William F. Gwynn

William F. 'Bill' Gwynn, 98, died Tuesday, March 8, 2005 at Eagle Pointe Nursing Facility, Parkersburg, WV.

Bill was born July 29, 1906 in the Pleasant Hill Community, Lost Pavement, a son of the late Edwin J. and Clair Fankenhauser Gwynn. He was retired from American Viscose and was a member of South Parkersburg United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Ada L. 'Dollie' Snyder Gwynn; one son, Frederick L. Gwynn and his wife, Grace, of Louisville, KY and their children, Stan, Mike, Greg, Jack, Joe, Donna, Ann and Stacy; one daughter, Francis 'Jo Ann' Wilson and her husband, Rodney, of Pawhuska, OK and their children, Steve, Shawn, Patrick, Tim and Debbie; 20 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Beth Wilson; a great-grandson, Brian Ward; four brothers; and three sisters.

Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2005 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike Street, south Parkersburg, WV with the Reverend Rick Brown officiating. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens Mausoleum. Friends may call from 2 - 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Evan T. Bowers

Evan Tyler Bowers of Zionsville, Indiana went home to be with Jesus on Friday, March 4, 2005 at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis, Indiana.

He was born January 27, 2005 in Indianapolis, IN, the son of Eric V. and Autumn S. Zumbro Bowers.

He is survived by his parents; maternal grandparents, Darlene Stewart of Cincinnati, OH and John Zumbro of Stockport, OH; paternal grandmother, Janice VanHorn, and step-paternal grandfather, Paul VanHorn of Cutler, OH; and paternal great-grandmother, Mary Minich of New Castle, PA.

Funeral services will be 12:00 Noon Wednesday, March 9, 2005 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green Street, Parkersburg, WV with Pastor Chris Holland officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen North Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of services Wednesday at the funeral home

Howard B. Ayers

Howard Blakely Ayers, 84, of Belpre, Ohio died Sunday, March 6, 2005 at the Arbors in Marietta, Ohio.

He was born September 14, 1920 in Ritchie County, WV, a son of the late Maurice Blakely and Fannie Mae Hoover Ayers.

Howard was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran who served in World War II. He worked at Kaiser Aluminum in Belpre for more than 20 years. He was a member of the Belpre Masonic Lodge and was a Baptist by faith.

He is survived by two sons, Art Ayers and wife, Cindy, of Belpre, OH and Bob Ayers of Columbus, OH; one sister, Jean Anders of Statesboro, GA; four grandsons, Jeremy and Christopher Ayers of Belpre, OH, Tom Ayers and wife, Mona, of Atlanta, GA and Master Sgt. Fred Ayers, Jr. and wife, Tanya, who is stationed in Germany in the U.S. Air Force; four great-grandchildren, Nicole, Nolan, Nickolaus and Noah Ayers.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty J. Ayers, who died March 26, 2004; one son, Fred Ayers; and two sisters, Lucy Campbell and Jerry Eblin.

At Howard's request, there will be no visitation. Private memorial services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

The Tatman Funeral Home, 220 Main Street, Belpre, OH is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Juanita L. Dulin

Juanita L. Yeager Dulin, 83, formerly of Elizabeth, WV and currently of the West Virginia Masonic Home, Parkersburg, WV passed away Saturday, March 5, 2005 at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.

She was born March 6, 1921 in Grafton, WV, a daughter of the late Herbert and Leona Ware Morgan. Juanita was an Eastern Star member, had worked as an administrative assistant at Ravens Metals, was a Protestant by faith and was a devoted mother and homemaker.

She is survived by one son, George Yeager, of Columbus, OH; one daughter, Elaine Shepherd of Parkersburg, WV; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two brothers, Manuel Morgan of Parkersburg, WV and Clinton Morgan of Florida; and three sisters, Pauline Pearson of Mineral Wells, WV, Zelma Williamson of Parkersburg, WV and Wilda Pierce of Michigan.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death in death by her first husband, Herman T. Yeager; and her second husband, Charles W. Dulin.

Services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2005 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Avenue, Vienna, WV. Burial will follow in the K of P Cemetery in Elizabeth, WV. Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Evelyn M. Starcher

Evelyn M. Starcher, 80, of Vienna, WV passed away Saturday, March 5, 2005 at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Rocky Knob, WV, a daughter of the late Ezra and Velma Morris Randolph. Evelyn was a graduate of Ripley High School and attended Morris Harvey College and Mountain State Business College. She had been a Girl Scout leader, was retired from Keene Metal Corporation and Demuth Glass as credit union office manager, was a member of the Wayside United Methodist Church and was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Louis E. Starcher; two daughters, Joyce Blankenship of Jacksonville, NC and Jeannie Fetty of Belleville, WV; three granddaughters, Krista Lee Ryans of Arizona, Anna Lee Shepard of North Carolina and Sharla McFarland of Belleville, WV; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Eldon Randolph of Chesapeake, OH; and two sisters, Deloris G. Kelly of Ripley, WV and Reva F. Casto of Massillon, OH.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Dwight Randolph.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2005 at the Wayside United Methodist Church, Vienna, WV with the Reverend Sandy Runnion officiating. Interment will follow in the Pine Hill Cemetery at Ripley, WV. Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Monday at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Avenue, Vienna, WV.

Conrad Douglas

Conrad Douglas, 87, of Vienna, WV went to join his heavenly Father on Monday, April 4, 2005 at his residence.

He was born February 25, 1918 in Spencer, WV, a son of the late Charlie Everett and Delphia Reed Douglas. He had worked at the Silk Mill in the City of Vienna and retired in 1982 from ACME Fishing Tool and Die Company, Parkersburg, WV after 40 years of service as a plant supervisor. Conrad had been an active member of the Vienna Baptist Church and had served on the Board of Trustees and enjoyed working around the church. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #172 AF&AM; and the Vienna chapter of the Eastern Star #151. Conrad enjoyed woodworking, was a precision machinist, helped his late wife, Frankie, design and make quilts and helped his son-in-law, Jim Gilbert, build street rods. He was instrumental in starting the Vienna Volunteer Fire Department, with him and his brother-in-law, the late Marvin Norman, being the first two firefighters for the City of Vienna.

He is survived by five daughters, Jane Claus, Karen Wigal and husband, Ted, Eileen Sandifer and husband, Steve, Connie I. Gilbert and husband, Clyde M. 'Jim' and Sherri Killen and husband, Bruce, all of the Parkersburg and Vienna area; nine grandchildren, Lynda Crowe, Rick and Greg Wigal, Angela Welsh, Barbara Barnette, Stephanee Killen, Julian Douglas Alderman, Scott Bond and Debra Moore; and fifteen great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Frankie Vera Norman Douglas, in October, 2004 after 65 years of marriage; one grandson, Shane Gilbert; and one brother, Clarence Douglas.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 7, 2004 at the Vienna Baptist Church, 3401 Grand Central Avenue, Vienna, WV with the Reverend Nathan E. Williams officiating. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens Mausoleum. Friends may call from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Avenue, Vienna, WV and one hour prior to services Thursday at the church.

Richard "Rick" Thorn

Richard Morgan 'Rick' Thorn, 46, of Market Manor, Parkersburg, WV passed away Sunday, April 3, 2005 at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital after an extended illness.

He was born September 22, 1958 in Parkersburg, WV, a son of the late Raymond W. Thorn, Sr. and Pauline P. Thorn.

Rick is survived by two brothers, Raymond 'Woody' Thorn and his wife, Beverly, of Parkersburg, WV and Randy L. Thorn and his wife, Susan, of Fleming, OH; two sisters, Delores 'Jeanie' Sheltz and her husband, Danny, of Parkersburg, WV and Judy Pauline of Parkersburg, WV; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Also surviving is a very special dear friend, Sue Hunt.

In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by one sister, Janet Raymona Thorn Roberts.

Graveside services will be 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2005 at Mt. Olivet Cemetery with the Reverend Larry Hooper officiating. Cremation services have been entrusted to the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green Street, Parkersburg, WV.

Victor L. Emigh

Victor Lu Emigh, 67, of Walker, WV died Sunday, April 3, 2005 at his residence following an extended illness.

He was born at Ellamore, WV, a son of the late Charles Edward and Nellie Marie Poling Emigh. He was a retired foreman with Viking Steel Fabricators with 36 years of service. He was a member of Pipefitters Local 168 and was a Protestant by faith.

Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Shirley Ann Streets Emigh; a son, Brian Victor Emigh and his wife, Brenda, of Hagerstown, MD; three daughters, Melanie Pahno and her husband, Steve, and Teresa Parrish, all of Virginia Beach, VA and Beverly Bennet and her husband, Mike, of Parkersburg, WV; a brother, Carroll Emigh of Parkersburg, WV; a sister, Gloria Plum of Glenville, WV; and eight grandchildren, Kaylie, Anthony, Nicholas, Taylor, Casey, Logan, Trenton and Chase.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother; and two sisters.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2005 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike Street, south Parkersburg, WV with the Reverend Casey Stinespring and the Reverend Karen Stinespring officiating. Burial will be in the Belington Fraternal Cemetery at Belington, WV. Friends may call from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Betty A. Mayfield

Betty A. Mayfield, 74, of Waverly, WV passed away Saturday, April 2, 2005 at Marietta Memorial Hospital.

She was born October 19, 1930 in Pleasants County, WV, a daughter of the late Mancil and Gertrude Cronin Kelley. Betty was a homemaker and was an active member of the Waverly United Methodist Church for over 40 years. She was a lifetime member of the PTA and enjoyed crafts and playing string music.

Surviving is her husband of 55 years, Billy D. Mayfield, of Waverly; two sons, Harley Mayfield and his wife, Cheryl, of Bridgeport, WV and Carl Mayfield of Parkersburg, WV; two grandchildren, Jessica and Billy Mayfield, both of Bridgeport; and several nieces and nephews and their families.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Mancil Kelley, Jr., Richard Kelley and Truman Kelley; and one sister, Bernice Childress.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 5, 2005 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Avenue, Vienna, WV with the Reverend John W. Frum officiating. Interment will follow at the Mt. Pleasant-Burnt Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 - 9 p.m. Monday from Noon until time of services Tuesday at the funeral home.

Andrew M. McPherson

Andrew Michael McPherson, infant son of Justin Michael McPherson and Tylee Daniell, of Parkersburg, WV passed away Monday, March 28, 2005 at St. Joseph's Hospital.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his grandparents, Benita Daniell and Susan and Bernard McPherson, all of Parkersburg, WV; great-grandparents, Edna Smith of Vienna, WV, Harry and Grace Knopp, Judy Redmond and Bernard McPherson, all of Parkersburg, WV; several aunts and uncles, Shelley and Nate Hicks of Parkersburg, WV, Bryan and Shawna Daniell of Marietta, OH, T.J. Daniell, Nicholas McPherson and Gordon Finnie, all of Parkersburg, WV and Larry and Rhonda Knopp and their son, Adam, of Parkersburg, WV; and several cousins.

Andrew was preceded in death by his great-grandfather, James Boyer Collins.

Services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 1, 2005 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Avenue, Vienna, WV with Pastor Gene Hutton officiating. Interment will follow at Parkersburg Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from Noon until time of services Friday at the funeral home.

Clarice L. Roberts

Clarice L. Roberts, 80, of south Parkersburg, WV passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2005 at her residence.

She was born March 30, 1924 in Jackson County, WV, a daughter of the late Raymond and Frankie Morehead Currey. She was a graduate of Gilmore High School and was a homemaker.

She is survived by five children, Gary Roberts and wife, Connie, of Parkersburg, WV, Carolyn Dowler and husband, Gary, of Parkersburg, WV, Bill Roberts and wife, Ann, of Waverly, WV, Brian Roberts and wife, Judy, of Parkersburg, WV and Paul Wolfe of Parkersburg, WV; thirteen grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Ruth Roberts, of Point Pleasant, WV.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Roberts; a daughter, Sue Ahart; two brothers, Richard and James Currey; and two sisters, Frances Joann Roberts and Barbara Ellen Currey.

Services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 1, 2005 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike Street, south Parkersburg, WV with the Rev. Gerald L. Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen South Cemetery. Visitation is from 2 -4 and 6 - 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
