John A. Davis
John A. Davis, age 49, of Springfield, GA died Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at his home. He was born January 3, 1963 in Akron, OH, a son of Mary Burr Davis of Clarksburg, WV and the late Arnet Davis. On June 19, 1988 he married Vanessa Lewis who survives. In addition to his mother and wife, he is survived by one son, Gentry Davis of Springfield; one daughter, Anastasia Elmgren and husband Will of Jacksonville, NC; one brother, Timothy Davis of Springfield; three sisters, Joanne Holliday and husband Bill of New Brausels, TX, Cathy Keener of Anmoore, WV and June Ron of Clarksburg, WV and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Davis was a Branch Manager for Value Part, Inc. Friends will be received Monday, December 31, 2012 from 9-11 AM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 11 AM Monday at the funeral home with Pastor George Bramble officiating. Burial will follow in the Floral Hill Memorial Gardens at Quiet Dell, WV. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Lillie Maxine Armstrong Davis
Lillie Maxine Armstrong Davis, age 86 of Buckhannon, WV, died Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Davis Memorial Hospital in Elkins, WV. She was born May 31, 1926 in French Creek, WV, a daughter of the late Jared Barlow and Ivvie Smith Armstrong. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ira Thomas Bud Davis; one granddaughter, Stacey Bowman; one brother, Gaylord Artenice Armstrong and one sister, Wanda Gay Grubb. She is survived by four daughters, Barbara McKisic Bowman and Wanda Sue Davis Landes both of Buckhannon, Vickie Holmes and husband William of Port Richey, FL and Rebecca Davis Hedrick and partner Steven Leonard of Lexington, NC; two sons, John L. Davis and wife Janet of Kirkland, IL and Thomas L. Davis and wife Betty of Buckhannon; seventeen grandchildren; four step grandchildren, twenty five great grandchildren and eleven step great grandchildren. Mrs. Davis was a cook for several area restaurants. She was a member of Buckhannon Union Mission Church and Rebekah Lodge #183 of Buckhannon. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend. Friends will be received Monday, January 14, 2013 from 5-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 2 PM Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Dennis Estes officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Union Church Cemetery in Tallmansville, WV. Poling-St. Clair Funeral home is in charge of arrangements.

Alice Marie Dean
Alice Marie Dean, age 91, of Buckhannon, WV died Thursday, January 10, 2013 at Good Samaritan Society of Barbour County, Belington, WV. She was born June 25, 1921 in Braxton County, WV, a daughter of the late Charles Emery and Florence Cayton Skinner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by ten brothers and sisters. She is survived by one son, Mike Bodnar of Buckhannon. Mrs. Dean was the owner of Alices Beauty Shop. Friends will be received Sunday, January 13, 2013 from 5-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 2 PM Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Earl Cayton officiating. Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Betty Jane Dean
Betty Jane Dean, age 92 of Buckhannon, WV died Monday, May 6, 2013 at Mansfield Place in Philippi, W. V. She was born July 15, 1920 in Dawson, PA, a daughter of the late Percy Wright and Bess Huston Sharps. On October 1, 1946 she married Paul G. Dean who preceded her in death on February 25, 1999. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Elizabeth Peffer. She is survived by one daughter, Sandra D. Holmes of Hinkleville, WV; one son Paul G. Dean II and wife Loretta of Barboursville, WV; two grandsons, Stephen Allen Holmes and wife Kristin and Brian Dean Holmes all of Hinkleville; two granddaughters, Carma Blair and Clara Jayne Dean both of Barboursville; two great granddaughters, Katrina Moran of Buckhannon and Cheyenne Cunningham of Hinkleville and one great great grandson, Trenton Moran of Hinkleville. Mrs. Dean attended the First United Methodist Church in Buckhannon and was a homemaker. She was a member of United Methodist Women, Circle #4 and WVWC Emeritus Club. She graduated from WVWC with the Class of 1942. She also enjoyed playing Bridge, raising flowers and attending church. Friends will be received Thursday, May 9, 2013 at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home from 7-9 PM. A funeral service will be held 1 PM Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Steven Meadows officiating. Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Leta M. Davisson
Leta M. Davisson, age 105, of Buckhannon, WV went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 4, 2013. She was born May 18, 1908 in Arlington, WV a daughter of the late Charles E. and Iva (Siron) Hickman. She was united in marriage to Brennie Osborn on September 30, 1934, who preceded her in death on December 31, 1975. In 1981 she married Roy Davisson who preceded her in death on January 1, 1994. Leta is the last of her immediate family. In addition to her parents and two husbands, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Opal Bond and Wanna Waugh, one brother, Preston Hickman, one niece, Jane Bond Adams and three nephews, Donald Bond, Darrell Waugh and Clayton Waugh, Jr. She is survived by several great and great great nieces and nephews and step daughter, Susan Singleton. She will join her special friend and neighbor, Virginia Linger who went on to be with the Lord on the 1st of March. They may be neighbors in gloryland now. Mrs. Davisson was employed with the dietary department of the Weston State Hospital from 1952 1962. She had been with the Region VII Aging Services, Inc. for 27 years. Realizing how good God has been to her, Leta was a great prayer warrior and desired to help others. She is a member of the Buckhannon Union Mission Church where she will be greatly missed. Letas parting words: God has been so good to me. I just want to say do not mourn my leaving, because I am already in the presence of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and all my loved ones who have preceded me. On Monday, July 8, 2013 from 10 AM 1 PM she will lie in state at the Buckhannon Union Mission Church. Starting at 1 PM on Monday at the church a praise service to celebrate her life will follow with her Pastor Rev. Dennis Estes and the Rev. Jerry Lee officiating. Interment will be in the Carder Cemetery at Vadis, WV. Instead of flowers, Leta requests that donations be made to the Salvation Army. A basket will be provided in the Church Foyer for your convenience. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Leta M. Hickman Osborn Davisson.

Patricia Beth 'Tricia' Dean
Patricia Beth 'Tricia' Dean, age 35, of Buckhannon, WV died Friday, October 11, 2013 at her home. She was born August 14, 1978 in Buckhannon, a daughter of the late Victor and Mary Louise Coughlin Newman. She is survived by one son, Ryan Michael Dean of Buckhannon; one daughter, Victoria Elizabeth Dean of Buckhannon; two sisters, Kristina Leggett and husband Tim of Buckhannon and Mary-Anne Newman of Hodgesville, WV; two brothers, Nick Newman and wife Amanda of Morgantown, WV and Alex Newman and wife Heather of Wilbur, WA and several nieces and nephews. Tricia was the owner and operator of American Furniture of Buckhannon. There will be a private family service. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Danny 'Popps' Daugherty
Danny 'Popps' Daugherty, age 70, of Buckhannon, WV died Thursday, November 28, 2013 at his home. He was born February 13, 1943 in Barbour County, WV, a son of the late Corbett Van Daugherty and Eva Mildred Foster Daugherty Thompson. On September 1, 1990 he married Angela L. Gifford who survives. Also surviving are three sons, Shawn Daugherty and wife Amy of Charlotte, NC, Shannon Daugherty & Fianc Christine Bennett and Ian Allen Daugherty and wife Melissa all of Buckhannon; nine granddaughter and four grandsons; five brothers, Hugh Daugherty and wife Dorthy of Philippi, Ivan Eugene Daugherty of Portland, OR, Randall Daugherty and wife Deonna Rose of Glen Burnie, MD, Butch Daugherty of Philippi, WV and Jimmy Thompson of Belington, WV; two sisters, Louise Moore of Philippi and Orella Harris of Staunton, VA and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his step father, Ogle Paul Thompson and one son, Michael Vane Daugherty. Popps was a biker and enjoyed life to the fullest. He served in the US Air Force for 20 years and was a Viet Nam Vet from 1967-1968. He was a helicopter medic with 38th Para Rescue. Friends will be received Sunday, December 1, 2013 from 1-2 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home with funeral service following with Pastor James L. Gifford and Marylee Hunt officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Olive Church Cemetery at Hemlock, WV. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

William Howard 'Dewey' Dean
William Howard 'Dewey' Dean, age 83, of Buckhannon, WV passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 30th, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 18th, 1930 in Buckhannon, the son of the late Dewey Dean and Beulah Strader. On January 24, 1957 he married Leona Black who survives. Leona was the light of his life and faithful companion. In addition to his wife he is survived by two daughters, Vonda Brandt and husband Terry of Buckhannon and Sandy Lantz and husband Darrell of Stonewood, WV; two sons, William Joseph Dean of Buckhannon and David Dean and wife Dana of Morgantown, WV; four granddaughters, Kelly Brandt of San Francisco, CA, Kimberly Brandt of Buckhannon and Meredith and Victoria Dean both of Morgantown; five grandsons, Rick Dotson of FL, Patrick Brandt of Morgantown, Joshua Dean and wife Amanda of Memphis, TN, Jeremiah Dean and wife Adele of Uniontown, PA and Joseph Dean of Chattanooga, TN; three great granddaughters, Grace Dean of Memphis and Kaylee and Lily Phipps both of Buckhannon; two great grandsons, Jacob Dotson of FL and Blaze Phipps of Buckhannon; three sisters, Betty Jean Curtis and husband Norman of Warren, OH, Marilyn Knicely and husband Bob of Buckhannon and Nancy Pope and husband Joe of Parkersburg, WV and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Margaret Mercer. William was affectionately known as "Dewey" to his friends and family. He was a man of religious faith, a hard worker and retired as Head Grocery Clerk at Kroger after 35 1/2 years of service. He was an avid sports fan, and especially enjoyed Mountaineer football and Pittsburgh Pirates baseball. Friends will be received Tuesday, December 3, 2013 from 5-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 11 AM Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Donald Butcher officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Tallmansville, WV. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the St. Josephs Hospice Program, 1 Amalia Drive Buckhannon, WV 26201. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Eugene D. 'Duke' Dukelow
Eugene D. 'Duke' Dukelow, age 77, of Buckhannon, WV died Thursday, January 16, 2014 at his home while under the care of St. Josephs Hospice. He was born March 17, 1936 in Waterloo, IA, a son of the late Thomas Russell and Imogene Margaret Granger Dukelow. On May 13, 1967 he married Dottie Sue Farrar who survives. Also surviving is one brother, Kent Stricker of Denver, CO. Mr. Dukelow was a TV Technician. Friends will be received Sunday, January 19, 2014 from 10:30 11:30 AM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 11:30 AM at the funeral home with Pastor Holly Hoover officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Grove Church Cemetery at Czar, WV. The family requests no flowers. Ruhl Clovis Davis
Ruhl Clovis Davis, age 74, of Buckhannon, WV died Sunday, March 16, 2014 at Holbrooks Nursing Home in Buckhannon. He was born June 27, 1939 in Ellamore, WV, a son of the late Wilford and Valta Rowan Davis. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by six brothers, Ira Bud, Wilford Lorn, James Jim, Harry, Larry Beanie and Mason Davis and one sister, Lillian Linger. Mr. Davis is survived by three children, Robert Davis and wife Bonnie of Fairmont, WV, Donald Davis and wife Joyce of Carmicheals, PA and Rhonda Wrick and husband John of Billener, PA; four brothers, Artis Davis of OH, Everett Davis of Gould, WV, Douglas Davis of Belington, WV and Donald Davis of Weston, WV and three sisters, Sylvia Zirkle of Norton, WV, Lieuthanna Hall of Teter, WV and Maciel Robison of Heaters, WV. Mr. Davis was an auto worker. Friends will be received Saturday, March 22, 2014 from 5 to 8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 2 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Mt. Union Church Cemetery in Tallmansville, WV. The Upshur Co. Honor Guard will conduct full military honors at the gravesite. Willie DeBarr
Willie DeBarr, age 79, of Wheeling, WV died Friday, June 27, 2014 at Wheeling Medical Center in Wheeling, WV. He was born May 3, 1935 in Buckhannon, WV, a son of the late Willie Ford and Blanche Smith DeBarr. On January 30, 1954 he married Norma J. Woofter who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Nelson and Wilbert DeBarr both of Wheeling; three daughters, Janice Queen and Carrie Headley both of Wheeling and Kimberly DeBarr and fianc Raymond Doyle of Martins Ferry, OH; four grandsons, James DeBarr of Youngstown, OH, Kalib Thomas of Wheeling, Nolan Doyle of Martins Ferry and Brenden Bachie of Wheeling; three granddaughters, Carmyne DeBarr of Youngstown, Patience Doyle of Martins Ferry and Kyla Bachie of Wheeling; three great-grandsons, Julius DeBarr and Jodan and Austin Fedor all of Youngstown; one great-granddaughter, Jocelyn DeBarr of Youngstown and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Ronald, Gerald and Charles DeBarr. Mr. DeBarr was a coal miner and a Baptist by faith. Friends will be received Monday, June 30, 2014 from 4-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 10 AM Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. J. Edward McDaniels officiating. Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Russell Lawrence Davison, Sr.
Russell Lawrence Davison, Sr., 71 years old of Rock Cave, WV went to walk with the angels on Saturday, August 2, 2014 in United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, WV. He was born on September 26, 1942 in Allentown, New Jersey, the son of Renee Estelle and Lawrence Davison. Russ was preceded in death by his mother, father and his special grandmother Margaret "Maggie" VanArsdale Fauerbach and grandfathers Harrington Estelle and Willie Fauerbach. He is survived by his wife of four wonderful years, Josephine "Jo" (Hull) Davison of Rock Cave; his namesake, Russell L. Davison, Jr., "Rusty" and his wife, Gini of French Creek; daughter, Laura D. Lee and her husband, Louis of Oatmeal, Texas and sister, Audrey Lewis of Virginia Beach, Virginia. Also surviving are his special grandchildren, Daniel, of Sparks, Nevada; Sarah, Rose and Jazmin of French Creek. Russ was known throughout the community as the "go-to" guy if you had anything of value to pawn, especially guns. He owned "R & M Gun Sales" for over 20 years, which he turned over to his son, Rusty, in 2009. In later years, with his wife, Jo, he opened a new business on Pendleton Drive in Rock Cave known as "Tri-County Trading". His love for gardening, guns, cars and cooking will go on forever. In lieu of flowers, Russ asked that donations be sent to the American Heart Association for research in his name. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 5th, 2014. Services will be performed at 1:00 p.m., and burial will follow in Rock Cave Cemetery.

Donald Ray Davis, Sr.
Donald Ray Davis, Sr., age 71, of Weston, WV died Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at his home. He was born September 26, 1943 in Ellamore, WV, a son of the late Wilford and Valta Rowan Davis. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by seven brothers, Ira Bud, Wilford Lorn, James Jim, Harry, Larry Beanie, Mason and Ruhl Clovis Davis and one sister, Lillian Linger. He is survived by four sons, James Davis and wife Melissa, Howard and Coleman Davis all of Weston and Donald Davis, Jr. and wife Nicole of AR; three daughters, Ara Jean Burgette of TX, Dorothy Davis of AZ and Kathy Chipps and husband Terry of Walkersville; three brothers Artis Davis of OH, Everett Davis of Gould, WV and Douglas Davis of Belington, WV and three sisters, Sylvia Zirkle of Norton, WV, Lieuthanna Hall of Teter, WV and Maciel Robison of Heaters, WV. Mr. Davis served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and was a carpenter. Friends will be received Saturday, October 18, 2014 from 5 to 8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 2 PM Sunday at the funeral home with the Pastor Jonathan Nettles officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Union Church Cemetery in Tallmansville, WV. The Upshur County Honor Guard will conduct military honors at the graveside. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
