Hazel Morgan, 73, of Simon, departed this life on Sunday, March 2, 2008, at Logan Regional Medical Center, Logan, WV.
Born on September 10, 1934 at Guyan, she was the daughter of the late Tollison and Ida (Brown) Cline.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Curtis Morgan; two sons: Clyde and Timothy Morgan; a daughter, Patricia Blankenship; and one great grandchild, Adrian Frye.
Hazel was a homemaker and a member of the Freewill Baptist Church.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Hazel are: her three sons: Larry (Patty) Morgan of Oceana, and Mark and Michael Morgan of Simon; her two daughters: Sharon (Garfield) Hatfield of Gilbert, and Rose Morgan of Simon; her eleven grandchildren; her twenty great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Friends called at the Long Branch Freewill Baptist Church at Simon on Wednesday and Thursday, March 5th and 6th after 6 pm each evening. Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm on Friday, March 7, 2008 at the Long Branch Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Jay Blankenship and the Rev. Firg Proffitt officiating. Burial followed in the Toler cemetery at the Long Branch section of Simon.
Family and friends served as pallbearers.

John Nathan West, 76, of Hanover, WV, departed this life on Sunday, March 2, 2008 at his residence.
Born on March 2, 1932 at Hanover, he was the son of the late John Dee and Gracie (Hatfield) West.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey West; a sister, Lillian West; and two brothers-in-law: Arlan Stafford and Cecil Morgan.
John was a disabled coal miner and of the Baptist faith.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of John are: his loving wife of 46 years, Annette West of Hanover; his two daughters: Jennifer West of Hanover, and Robin West and Tim Havelin of Hanover; his daughter-in-law, Sherry West; his seven granddaughters: Kayla Bragg, Samantha Duggins, Hailee West, Sara West Gregory, and Savannah, Kristin and Kasey West; his five sisters: Deloris Stafford, Addie (Archie) Lester, Demona Davis, Mavis Morgan, and Virginia (John) Lukens; his four brothers: Roy (Gina) West, Charles (Connie) West, Jimmy (Vella) West and Tony West; and a host of family and friends.
John will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Friends called at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel in Gilbert on Wednesday, March 5th from 6 to 9 pm. Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, March 6th at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gary Browning and the Rev. Arnold Harless officiating. Burial followed in the West Family cemetery at Rockhouse section of Hanover.
Pallbearers were: Tony West, Tim Havelin, Matt Morgan, Randy Toler, Sam Duggins, and Leon Cline. Honorary pallbearers were: Arlan Toler and Joey Holcomb.

Tonnie Godfrey, 58, of Coal Mountain, departed this life on Thursday, February 28, 2008, at his residence.
Born on November 15, 1949 at Guyan, he was the son of the late Zina and Junie (Toler) Godfrey.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers: James Dexter and Woodrow 'Woody' Godfrey.
He was of the Baptist Faith.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Tonnie are: his five sisters: Zelda (Rex) Zizelman of Celina OH, Kathy (Willis) Fortner of Coal Mountain, Dinah (Louie) Walls of Christian, Loretta (Mike) Knatz of St. Mary's OH, and Teresa (Dave) Embry of Celina OH; 19 nieces and nephews; 11 great nieces and nephews; and a host of family and friends.
Friends called at the Christian Freewill Baptist Church at Christian on Saturday, March 1st from 6 to 10 pm. Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, March 2nd at the Christian Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Lowell Walls and the Rev. Roger Browning officiating. Burial followed in the Hatfield cemetery at Coal Mountain.
Pallbearers were: Ronald 'Bubbles' Reed, Lesley Walls, Mark Cook, Todd Davis, Aaron Fortner, and Jay Woolum. Honorary pallbearers were: Willis Fortner and Louie Walls.

Edward Junior Clay, 75, of Gilbert went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, February 26, 2008 from Wytheville Community Hospital in Wytheville VA.
Born July 13, 1932 at Huntington, he was the son of the late Edgar and Anna (Collins) Clay.
Edward moved to Gilbert in 1937 where his family opened Clay Brothers Supermarket. He served as owner and manager of the grocery store until his retirement. He was a member of The First Baptist Church of Gilbert where he served as a deacon. He served the Gilbert community as mayor and city councilman, and was a member of the Masonic Lodge 148 of Iaeger. His life was committed to serving God, his family, and his community.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Edward are: his loving wife, Marie Aliff Clay of Gilbert; his three daughters: Katherine Clay-Jones of Kernersville NC, Teresa Clay-Boswell and her husband Dr. John Boswell of Wytheville VA; and Dr. Denise Clay of Fort Lauderdale FL; his two sons: Vincent (Jennifer) Clay of Gilbert, and Heath (Odessa) Clay of Lincoln NE; his twelve grandchildren: Eric Clay Jones of Kernersville NC, Ashley, Catlin, and Zachary Boswell of Atlanta GA, Christy Fletcher, Millicent, Mariah, Victoria, and Riker Clay all of Gilbert, and Colton, Trinity, and Dakota Clay of Lincoln NE; and a host of family and friends.
Friends called at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel in Gilbert on Saturday, March 1st from 6 to 9 pm. Funeral services were held at 11:00 am on Sunday, March 2nd at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ronald Lester and the Rev. Rodger Endicott officiating. Burial followed at Highland Memory Gardens at Godby Heights, Pecks Mill.
Family and friends served as pallbearers.

Densil Lester, 64, of Baisden, departed this life on Monday, February 25, 2008, at Ikes Fork, WV.
Born on March 11, 1943 at Baisden, he was the son of the late Marshall and Geneva (Cline) Lester.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Edward Lester; one sister, Ellen Neice; and two brothers: Daniel and Norman Lester.
Dencil was a retired coal miner and of the Church of God Faith.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Dencil are: his three sons: Hank (Ruby) Lester of Princeton, Densil 'Pug' Lester, Jr., of Princeton, and Keith (Marlena) Bailey of Ikes Fork; his daughter, Krissy (Ken) Lester of Gilbert; his ten grandsons; three granddaughters; two great grandchildren; his brother, Bernie Lester of Baisden; and a host of family and friends.
Friends called at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel in Gilbert on Friday, February 29th from 6 to 9 pm. Funeral services were held at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 1st at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jonas Trent officiating. Burial followed in the Oak Log cemetery at Baisden.
Pallbearers were: Kerry Browning, Larry Cline, Denny Lester, Keith Bailey, and Brett Brumfield. Honorary pallbearers were Jason Lester.

Linda Jane Lester, 60, of Baisden, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, February 25, 2008, from Pikeville Medical Center in Pikeville KY.
Born on November 30, 1947 at Logan, she was the daughter of Robert Marcum, Sr., and the late Ora (Jones) Marcum.
Linda was a homemaker and a member of the Light House Church of God at Baisden.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Linda are: her loving husband, Denford 'Demp' Lester of Baisden; her children: Melissa (Herbie) Justice and Rachel (Kevin) Lester, all of Baisden, Chrystal (Darrick) Fuller of Verner, and Michelle (Carson) Lester of Browning Fork; her step children: Denford Lester, Jr., and Eva 'Sissy' Lester; her five grandchildren: Siera and Chase Justice, Amber Fuller, Blake Cline, and Trevor Lester; her six step grandchildren; her father, Robert Marcum, Sr.; her seven sisters: Brenda Fields, Gloria Butcher, Patty Thompson, Bambi Spaulding, Kay Lester, Joann Maynard and Libby Compton; her three brothers: Tolbert 'Tobby' Marcum, Robert Marcum, Jr., and Jimmy Marcum; and a host of family and friends.
Friends called at the Light House Church of God at Baisden on Friday, February 29th from 6 to 11 pm. Funeral services were held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, March 1st at the Light House Church of God with the Rev. Winfred Bradford officiating. Burial followed in the Lester Family cemetery at Baisden.
Family and friends served as pallbearers.

Rosie Mae Neace, 79, of Justice, departed this life on Tuesday, February 26, 2008, at Logan Regional Medical Center in Logan after a brief illness.
Born on June 30, 1928 at Neds Branch, she was the daughter of the late Millard Fillmore and Dovie Blanche (Waybright) Neace.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one daughter, Tammy Faye.
Rosie was a restaurant cook and of the Baptist Faith.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Rosie are: her four daughters: Diana (Peter) Mulholland of Merrimack NH, Barbara (Phillip) Roberts of North Spring, Nancy (Theodore) Pack of Davin, and Susan Brown of Cleveland OH; her son, Kermit Edward 'Eddie' Neace; her three grandchildren: RaShawna (Jason) Smalley of Huntington, Jeremy Phillip Rowe of Ikes Fork, and Jillian Rose Mulholland of Merrimack NH; her three great grandchildren: Savanna Lynn and Jeremy Phillip Rowe, Jr., of Browning Fork, and Chloe Mikala Smalley of Huntington; her six sisters: Carolyn Cline, Mary Grimmet, Ruby Wilson, Stella Blessing, Betty Stevens, and Helen Patterson; her two brothers: Leroy Franklin Neace and Millard Fillmore Neace, Jr., a special family member and caregiver, Tammy Cook, a special family member, Timmy Dillon; and a host of family and friends.

Funeral services were held at 1:00 pm on Friday, February 29th at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dewayne Cline and the Rev. Jerlene Cook officiating. Burial followed in the Davis cemetery at Justice. Family and friends served as pallbearers.

Martha Hazel Smith, 85, of Hampden, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, February 25, 2008, from Trinity Health Care Center in Logan.
Born on November 7, 1922 at Browning Fork, she was the daughter of the late Kelly and Etta (Harrison) Hatfield.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one daughter, Janet Carol Smith, and one sister, Grace Bryant.
Martha work for the Gilbert Gas Company and Laundromat in Gilbert for many years. After the Laundromat closed she became a care giver to the elderly. She was of the Baptist Faith.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Martha are: her five sons: Carl Edward (Reba) Smith of Milton, Jack (Phyllis) Smith of Davin, Bob (Louise) Smith of Summersville, Lowell (Sherry) Smith of Gilbert, Byron (Reva) Smith of Gilbert, and Bernard Smith of Houston TX; her two daughters: Marcella (Ray) Evans of Lenoir City TN, and Arella (Roy) Cline of Baisden; her 20 grandchildren; her 31 great grandchildren; her three brothers: Robie (Emmy) Hatfield, Ralph (Bertha) Hatfield, and Herb (Sue) Hatfield; her three sisters: Barbara (Boyd) Mounts, Elma (Chester) Brown, and Maxine Cline; her brother-in-law, Luster Bryant; and a host of family and friends.
Friends called at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel in Gilbert on Wednesday, February 27th from 6 to 9 pm. Funeral services were held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, February 28th at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Homer Blankenship, Jr., and the Rev. Ronnie Lester officiating. Burial followed in the Carter cemetery at Browning Fork.
Pallbearers were: Kelly, Kyle, Josh, Rick & Jesse Smith, Christopher and Zeke Durham, and Adam and Joshua Foxx.
