HENRY H. DEREMER
FORT ASHBY, W.Va. - Henry H. Deremer, 83, of Fort Ashby, W.Va., died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 1999, at the Dawn View Manor Nursing Home, Fort Ashby.
Born April 23, 1916, in Alaska (Fort Ashby), he was the son of the late Charles and Sarah E. (Daniels) Deremer. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, George W. Deremer, Douglas Deremer, and Richard Deremer.
Mr. Deremer had been self-employed as a farmer. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church and the National Rifle Association.
Survivors include his sister, Mary Frantz, Piedmont, W.Va.; his brother, Herbert Deremer and wife Nancy, Annandale, Va.; two sisters-in-law, Ilse Deremer and Ruth Deremer, both of Fort Ashby; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, Inc., Route 28, Fort Ashby, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Dallas Forren, officiating.
Serving as pallbearers will be Edward Neff, Gary Logsdon, John Logsdon, Earl Wilson, Fred Siple, and Lance Evans.

KATHRYN A. GRIMES
ROCKVILLE - Kathryn Anna Grimes, 89, of Veirs Drive, Rockville, formerly of Cumberland and Reston, Va., died Saturday, Nov. 20, 1999, at the National Lutheran Home in Rockville.
Born Jan. 10, 1910, in McKeesport, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Frank Weber and Louise (Quantz) Weber. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow W. "Woody" Grimes who died on Oct. 16, 1988; two sisters, Caroline Thomas and Charlotte Deter; and one half-sister, Augusta Fisher.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Mrs. Grimes was a former employee of the Celanese Corporation in Cumberland, and was a member of Saint Luke's Lutheran Church.
Surviving are one son, David W. Grimes and wife Suzanne, Crownsville; one daughter, Norma G. Meyer and husband Erven, Annandale, Va.; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Kight Funeral Home, 309-311 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Saint Luke's Lutheran Church on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Stephen F. Yelovich officiating. Friends may call at the church after 10 a.m.

CARMELA DEMASI
KEYSER, W.Va. - Carmela (Panetta) Demasi, 86, of 66 Vernon St., Keyser, died on Wednesday, April 14, 1999, at Potomac Valley Hospital after a long illness.
Born May 17, 1912, in Keyser, she was the daughter of the late Ilario and Theresa (Citarelli) Panetta. She also was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Larry Demasi, on July 8, 1993; and a daughter, Emily Demasi.
Carmela was a homemaker, loving mother, and member of the Assumption Catholic Church, Keyser.
Surviving are six children: three sons, James "Paz" Demasi, Arthur DeMasi and Alfred "Puff" DeMasi and wife Gwen, and three daughters, Mary J. Shannon, Gloria Demasi, and Adelene "Dena" Demasi Turner and husband John; four grandchildren, James L. Shannon and wife Kitty, Ann Marie DeMasi Strother and husband Steve, Adriana "Gina" DeMasi and Larry E. "P.J." DeMasi; and three great-grandchildren, Jamey Kesner, Jessica Shannon and Michael Shannon.
Mrs. Demasi requested that there be no visitation.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Assumption Catholic Church, Keyser, on Thursday, April 15, 1999, at 10 a.m. with Father Ivan M. Lebar, T.O.R., as celebrant.
If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the donor's favorite charity.

CATHERINE "KATIE" GRIFFIN
KEYSER, W.Va. - Catherine "Katie" Griffin, formerly of Piedmont and Keyser, died Tuesday, March 30, 1999, at Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser.
She was born in Mineral County, the daughter of the late Charles H. Spicer and Margaret Bissett Spicer. She was preceded in death by her husband, John "Mox"Griffin; and three sisters, Lillian "Peachy"Wilson, Ursula Spicer and Margaret "Bunny"Spicer. She was the last of her immediate family.
She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, Westernport, Md., and had worked at the Tri-Towns news stand and at the Style Shop in Piedmont.
Mrs. Griffin is survived by one son, John Griffin and wife, Judy, Salt Lake City, Utah; and two granddaughters, Stephanie and Katie Jo Griffin. She is also survived by two very special nephews, Woodrow Wilson and wife, Barbara, Keyser, Timothy Wilson and wife, Athena, Keyser; and a niece, Deborah Gaudet and husband, Fred, Buckhannon.
Friends will be received at the Fredlock Funeral Home, Piedmont, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Christian Wake service will be held at 9 p.m. on Friday evening.
The Liturgy of the Word will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday morning at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Westernport.
RACHEL R. ``PINKY" DAYTON
KEYSER, W.Va. - Rachel R. ``Pinky" Dayton, 99, a resident of Heartland of Keyser, formerly of 9 N. Water St., Keyser, died on Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1999, at the nursing home.
Born March 2, 1899, in Dawson, Md., she was the daughter of the late Roland S. Dayton and Elizabeth (Dayton) Dayton. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Miss Dayton was a member of the Dawson United Methodist Church, the Church Choir, the United Methodist Women, and she attended Grace United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Services will be conducted at the Markwood Funeral Home, Keyser, on Sunday, Jan. 24, 1999, at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. John F. Footen officiating.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
JEANNETTE GLOTFELTY
FALLING WATERS, W.Va. - Jeannette Glotfelty, 78, of 211 Twin Falls Drive, Falling Waters, and formerly of McHenry, Md., died Friday, June 25, 1999, at Ravenwood Nursing Home, Hagerstown, Md.
Born May 9, 1921, in McHenry, she was a daughter of the late George Samuel and Hattie Viola (Lowdermilk) Glotfelty and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Fred, Jonas and Cecil Glotfelty; and three sisters, Effie Hamill, Dorla Bowman and Annabelle Glotfelty.
Miss Glotfelty was a member of Lakeside Assembly of God and Woodmen of the World Camp 11, Oakland, Md. She was a retired customer service representative for The Spa Hotel, Hollywood, Fla. She is survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., McHenry, on Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted in the funeral home on Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Alvin Kyle and the Rev. Robert Culler officiating.
Interment will be in the Flatwoods cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to Lakeside Assembly of God.
