LYNETTE M. QUICK
TERRA ALTA, W.Va. - Lynette M. Quick, 45, of Terra Alta, died Sunday, Sept. 12, 1999, at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W. Va.

She was born May 28, 1954, in Trenton, Mich., daughter of C. J. and Ann Bergmoser Williams, of Flat Rock, Mich.

She was a member of St. Edwards Catholic Church, Terra Alta. She was employed at Pineview Veterinary Hospital, Oakland, Md. She had a special love and compassion for animals not only in her career, but also at home.

She is also survived by her husband of 25 years, Robert R. Quick, of Terra Alta, who is an assistant principal at Southern Garrett County Senior High School, Oakland, Md.; one brother, James Williams, of Novi, Mich; two sisters, Carol Bedrosian, of Midland, Mich., and Beth Hill, of Brighton, Mich.

Friends may call at Arthur H. Wright Funeral Home, Terra Alta, from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 14, 1999. A mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, Sept.15, 1999 at 10 a.m. with Father Mark Ward as celebrant in the St. Edwards Catholic Church, Terra Alta, W. Va.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Lyn Quick Memorial Fund, c/o First United Bank & Trust, P.O. Box 9, Oakland, MD 21550 to benefit cancer research at the Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center, Morgantown, W.Va.

NINA R. OLDFIELD
ROMNEY, W.Va. - Nina Reinwald Oldfield, 91, of Romney, died Tuesday, June 22, 1999, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Baker, Romney.

She was born in St. Petersburg, Russia, on Jan. 23, 1908, a daughter of the late William Frederick and Helena Kolbush Reinwald. She was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 60 years, J. Emmett Oldfield, on June 27, 1992. He was a noted performer of stage and television.

Mrs. Oldfield was accepted into the National Ballet School (formerly the Russian Imperial Ballet, now called Choreographic Institute in the name of Vaganova). As a pupil of that school, she danced in the Maryinski Theater (now Kirev).

Upon coming to the United States, she danced in various dance productions on Broadway, New York City, and most of the large cities from Maine to California, also London, England, Canada, and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

In 1950 she moved permanently to the mountains outside of Romney. In 1951 she offered to give free ballet lessons to the students at the West Virginia School for the Deaf and taught there for 39 years. She opened schools for dance in Keyser, Moorefield, Romney, Petersburg and Westernport. She also taught ballet at numerous dance teachers' conventions. She was a member of Dance Masters of America and was on the Examining Board of the New York City Chapter. Her combined schools, including the deaf pupils, appeared in the Winchester Apple Blossom Festival for many years. She staged the pageant, Romney Review of 1962, to celebrate the Romney Bicentennial and the following year staged Mineral County Spree of 1963 to celebrate the Mineral County Centennial.

She is survived by one cousin, Inge Reinwald Loschky, Mercer Island, Wash.

There will be no visitation.

A graveside service will be held Friday, June 25, at 11 a.m. at Fairview cemetery, Grassy Lick Road, Romney, with the Rev. Douglas N. Shepherd officiating.

Interment will be in Fairview cemetery, Romney.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Shaffer Funeral Home, Romney.

JOSEPH R.A. "JOE BOB" MCGEE
KEYSER, W.Va. - Joseph Robert Arnold "Joe Bob" McGee, 81, of 1375 Lynmar St., Keyser, died Wednesday, June 30, 1999, at the St. Petersburg General Hospital, St. Petersburg, Fla.

Born on Jan. 4, 1918, at Russelldale, near Burlington, he was a son of the late George S. and Mary Martha (Kelley) McGee. Mr. McGee was the youngest of 10 children, all of whom have preceded him in death.

Mr. McGee was a retired farmer and insurance agent. He was a 1937 graduate of Keyser High School, a member and past president of the Mineral County Wildlife Association, and was a member of the Burlington Ruritan Club where he was very active in developing the scholarship fund. Mr. McGee attended the Grace United Methodist Church, Keyser.

Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Mary Eleanor (Rawlings) McGee; one daughter, Martha Anne Strickler, Cumberland, Md.; one step-son, Harry R. Cross Jr., Seminole, Fla.; one step-daughter, Mary Colleen Tooker, Riverhead, N.Y.; one granddaughter, Laura Mary Strickler; three step-grandsons, Stephen D. Tooker, John M. Tooker and Harry Ronald Cross III.

Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel on Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. S.D. Sawyers officiating.

Interment will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery, Elk Garden.

HELLENE L. O'QUINN
CUMMINGS, Ga. - Hellene L. O'Quinn, 76, formerly of Fort Ashby, W.Va., died Jan. 20, 1999, at her home in Cummings.

Born on Oct. 23, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Charles P. and Jesse (Dowden) Rollins. She also was preceded in death by two sisters, Jesse Rollins and Margaret (Cheshire) Dyer; and one brother, Harry H. Cheshire.

She is survived by her husband, Harold R. O'Quinn, Cummings; and one son, Jeffrey O'Quinn, of Townsend.

Funeral services were conducted by the Gordon Harrison Funeral Home, Jessup, and interment was in the Odum cemetery at Odum.

FUCHSYA L. O'REAR
KEYSER, W.Va. - Fuchsya L. O'Rear, 78, formerly of 500 Carskadon Lane, Keyser, died Sunday, May 2, 1999, at the Moran Manor Nursing Home, Westernport, Md.

Born on Jan. 25, 1921, at Keyser, she was a daughter of the late Ira Arthur and Tabitha Mae (Oates) Biser. She also was preceded in death by her husband, William S. O'Rear Sr., on May 26, 1968; and by a brother, Richard Carl Biser.

Mrs. O'Rear was a retired nurse's aide at Potomac Valley Hospital with over 16 years of service. She was a member of the Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Keyser, and also taught Sunday School classes at the church.

Surviving are her son, William Stuart O'Rear Jr. and fiancee, Ferma Isaac, Cumberland, Md.; two daughters, Barbara Louise Forrest and special friend, David Lyman, Proctor, Vt., Beverly Jean Chaney and husband, William, Souderton, Pa.; a brother, David Wayne Biser, Kirkland, N.M.; three sisters, Elfreda Dare Berry, Xenia, Ohio, Odessa Lorraine Thrush, Antioch, Norma Lee Smith, Cumberland; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at the Rotruck-Smith Funeral Home, Keyser, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Emmanuel Episcopal Church on Wednesday at 10 a.m. with The Reverend Judson Pealer as celebrant.

Interment will be in the Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 301 S. Mineral St., Keyser, WV 26726.

RUTH M. MCHOLD
TERRA ALTA, W.Va. - Ruth M. McHold, age 87, of Terra Alta, died on Monday, May 24, 1999, at the Henry Clay Villa in Markleysburg, Pa.

She was born Nov. 12, 1911, in Kalamazoo, Mich., and was a daughter of the late Frank S. Whelan and Frances (Waite) Whelan.

Mrs. McHold was a retired teacher and librarian from the Montgomery County School System, a member of the Potomac Park Presbyterian Church and the National Education Association.

She is survived by her husband, Ted E. McHold; one son, Dr. David S. McHold, Annapolis; two daughters, Sharon L. McHold, Yarmouth, Maine, and Rosemary M. Johnson, Takoma Park; one brother, Wilfred S. Whelan, Vicksburg, Mich.; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Friends may call at the Durst Funeral Home, Oakland, on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Berlin Wilhelm officiating.

Interment will be in the Oakland cemetery.
