NELLIE G. SMITH
KEYSER, W.Va. - Nellie Grace Smith, 65, of Route 2, Box 233, Keyser, died at her winter residence in Arcadia, Fla., on Wednesday, Feb. 10, 1999.
Born on Dec. 13, 1933, in Piedmont, she was a daughter of the late Ewell and Mary Blanche (Shank) Mercer.
Mrs. Smith was a homemaker. She was Presbyterian by faith. She was a graduate of Piedmont High School, an avid gardener, and enjoyed camping and traveling.
She is survived by her husband, Donald B. Smith Sr.; two sons, Donald B. Smith Jr. and wife, Belinda, Fountain City, Ind., David J. Smith and wife, Annie, Keyser; one daughter, Diane Parish and husband, Bob, Keyser; two brothers, Charles Mercer, Lenoir City, Tenn., and Paul H. Mercer, Rhode Island; one sister, Susan Johnson, Keyser; and three grandchildren, Nicole, Brian and Matthew.
Friends will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, Md., on Sunday, Feb. 14, from 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted there on Monday, Feb. 15, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Joseph Mercer officiating.
GARY L. RODEHEAVER
BRUCETON MILLS, W.Va. - Gary Lynn Rodeheaver, 42, of (Mountain Dale Community) Bruceton Mills, died Friday, Dec. 17, 1999, as a result of a coal mining accident at the Whitetail Mine, Route 26, near Fellowsville.
Born Dec. 21, 1956, in Oakland, Md., he was the son of Clayton and Sarah Jones Rodeheaver of Bruceton Mills.
Mr. Rodeheaver was a member of the Mountain Dale Church of the Brethren, and was an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Mary A. Patterson Rodeheaver; one daughter, Jennifer Lee Patterson; two brothers, Perry Rodeheaver, Friendsville, Md., and Gerald Rodeheaver, Bruceton Mills; one sister, Sharon Pingley, Terra Alta; and grandmother, Ruby Rodeheaver, Bruceton Mills.
The family will receive friends at the Carl R. Spear Funeral Home, Brandonville, Wednesday, Dec. 22, 1999, from 1 to 7:30 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. with the Rev. Eugene Matthews and the Rev. Donald Matthews officiating.
Burial will be in the Shady Grove cemetery, Bruceton Mills.

FAYE E. ROGERS
KEYSER, W.Va. - Faye E. Rogers, 88, of Route 1, Keyser, W.Va., died Sunday, June 20, 1999, at the Hopemont State Hospital, Hopemont, W.Va. Born on July 1, 1910, in Mineral County, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late Charles Cook and Laura (Riggleman) Cook Miller. She also was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Rogers, on Jan. 10, 1974; one brother, Charlie Cook; and one sister, Vicie Urice.
Mrs. Rogers was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of the Mineral Baptist Church, the Mineral County Senior Citizens, and the Mineral County Democrat Executive Committee. She also formerly worked as a polling place worker for many years.
Surviving are five sons, Melvin Cook and wife Lavine, Keyser, W.Va., Frederick Rogers, Keyser, W.Va., Kenneth Rogers and wife Martha, Falls Church, Va., Dalton Rogers and wife Chearyl, Keyser, W.Va., and Carson Rogers and wife Linda, Keyser, W.Va.; two daughters, Wilma Alt, Keyser, W.Va., and Shirley Gattens and husband Chuck, Keyser, W.Va.; 19 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Rotruck-Smith Funeral Home, Keyser, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Scott Uhlenhopp officiating.
Interment will be in the Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser.

ELK GARDEN, W.Va. - Mary Elizabeth Ross, 81, of Elk Garden, passed away Saturday, March 6, 1999, at her residence.
Born Sept. 10, 1917, in Gleason, she was a daughter of the late George and Marion (Dick) Burkhart. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred W. Ross.
Surviving are one son, Richard W. Ross, Florida; a foster son, Kenny Gano, Keyser; and a daughter, Sandy Harvey, Baltimore.
The body is at the David A. Burdock Funeral Home, Kitzmiller, where friends will be received on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Donald E. Marple officiating.
GENEVIEVE P.'JENNY' SAVILLE
GREENSPRING, W.Va. - Genevieve P. 'Jenny' Saville, 79, of Greenspring, W.Va., died Thursday, May 27, 1999, at her residence.
Born on Oct. 17, 1919, at Oldtown, Md., she was the daughter of the late Robert L. Carder and Mary E. (Athey) Carder. She was preceded in death by one son, James R. Carder. She also was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
Surviving are two sons, Roger D. Saville, Capon Bridge, W.Va., and Edward M. Saville, Oldtown; three daughters, Mary L. Dean, Paw Paw, W.Va., Polly Saville and Patti Saville, both of Greenspring, W.Va.; three brothers, Robert F. Carder, Anaheim, Calif., Charles L. Carder, Oldtown, Md., and David L. Carder, Cumberland; five sisters, Marietta Linaweaver, Berkeley Springs, W.Va., Clarabelle Parker, Fairgo, Ruth Anderson, Spring Gap, Md., Patricia Norton, Cumberland, and Ethel Glaze, Greenspring, W.Va.; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Kight Funeral Home, 309-311 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

PIEDMONT, W.Va. - Susan Elizabeth "Labby" Ross, 83, formerly of Piedmont, Baltimore, and then Arizona, died Sunday, Nov. 7, 1999, in Boswell Memorial Hospital, Sun City.
Born Dec. 3, 1915, in Beryl, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Louis Sylvester and Ola Eugenia Fazenbaker Green. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Walter Joseph Ross, June 20, 1993; three brothers; and one sister.
Surviving are two daughters, Susan Elizabeth McNeil and husband, Jim, of Sun City, Patricia Ann Brickson and husband, Danny, of Peoria, Ariz.; one granddaughter; one great-granddaughter; a sister, Genie Johnson and husband, Charlie, of Grantsville; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Hafer Chapel of the Hills Mortuary, 1302 National Hwy., LaVale, on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home chapel on Thursday, Nov. 11, 1999, at 11 a.m. with the Pastor Charles A. Erzkus, officiating.
SUSAN E. ROSS
PIEDMONT, W.Va. - Susan Elizabeth (Green) Ross, 83, died Sunday, Nov. 7, 1999, at Boswell Memorial Hospital, Sun City, Ariz.
Born Dec. 3, 1915, in Beryl, she was the daughter of the late Ola E. (Fazenbaker) Green and Lewis Sylvester Green. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Walter J. Ross in June,1993; three brothers and one sister.
Mrs. Ross was a graduate of Piedmont High School. Following her marriage, she moved to Baltimore, Md., where she resided until 1980. She and her husband retired to Tilghman, Md., where they resided until his death in 1993. She moved to Arizona in 1996 where she resided with her daughter until her death.
Surviving are two daughters, Susan E. McNeil and husband James R., Sun City, and Patricia A. Brickson and husband Daniel L., Peoria, Ariz.; one granddaughter, Yvonne P. Bingaman and husband Barry L.; one great-granddaughter, Amie E. Bingaman, Baltimore, Md., and one sister, Ola E. Johnson and husband Charles L., Grantsville, Md.
Funeral services were held at the Hafer Funeral Home, LaVale, on Thursday, Nov. 11, 1999.
