F. EILEEN ASHENFELTER
KEYSER, W.Va. - F. Eileen (Nine) Ashenfelter, 81, of 442 North Main St., Keyser, died on Wednesday, Nov. 18, 1998, at Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser. Born Sept. 11, 1917, in Rowlesburg, she was the daughter of the late Ray A. and Anna Virginia (Bucklew) Nine. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Robert Ashenfelter, on Jan. 26, 1990. Mrs. Ashenfelter was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Keyser. She was a member of the Keyser Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and the Ladies Auxiliary of the U.T.A. Surviving are two daughters, Donna "Bobbie Lee" Lavelle and husband, Bob, Medina, Ohio, and Penny Sue Sanders and husband, Mike, Keyser; one son, Larry Ray Ashenfelter and wife Karol, Keyser; one sister, Bonnie Chidester, Keyser; one brother, Paul Nine, Kingwood. She is also survived by six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Markwood Funeral Home, Keyser, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday, Nov. 21, 1998, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Alvin L. Guyon officiating. Interment will be in Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 32 Davis St., Keyser, West Virginia.

BARBARA L. ENGLE
KEYSER, W.Va. - Barbara L. (Boyers) Engle, 67, of 151 South Mineral St., Keyser, died on Monday, Aug. 24, 1998, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland, Md.
Born July 1, 1931, in Morgantown, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Fred E. and Imogene (Harkness) Boyers. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Dr. Robert C. Boyers.

Barbara was a beloved wife and mother. She was vice president of Engle Dental System, Forest Grove, Ore. She was a 1949 graduate of Morgantown High School and attended West Virginia University. She was Lutheran by faith and attended the Keyser Presbyterian Church. She was a member of the Pi Phi Sorority and the Keyser Homemakers' Club.

Surviving are her husband, Lewis R. Engle, whom she married in November 1951; one daughter, Lucinda L. Leonard and husband, Bill, Warwick, N.Y.; three sons, Lewis Boyers Engle and wife, Autumn, Cumberland, Md., Fred Cooper Engle and wife, Sharon, Keyser, Robert Harkness Engle and wife, Ellen, Revere, Mass.; five grandchildren, Braden Lewis Engle, Lee Kendon Leonard, Cooper Cole Engle, Anna Katherine Boyers Engle and Andersen Harkness Engle; one aunt, Thelma Boyers, Morgantown; and sister-in-law, Nina Boyers, Bradenton, Fla.

Friends will be received at the Markwood Funeral Home, Keyser, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be conducted at the Keyser Presbyterian Church on Thursday, Aug. 27, 1998, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Stephen P. Fritz officiating.

The body will be taken to the Church one hour prior to services.

Graveside services and interment will be in Oak Grove cemetery, Morgantown, on Thursday at 2:30 p.m.

If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Mineral County Humane Society, P.O. Box 68, Piedmont, WV 26750.

RICHARD E. EDWARDS
RIDGELEY, W.Va. - Richard E. "Pete" Edwards, 70, of Ridgeley, died Friday, Nov. 13, 1998, at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, Md. Born July 13, 1928, in Cumberland, he was the son of Rich ard H. Edwards, of Ridgeley, and the late Rose Catherine (Cook) Edwards. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Elizabeth Edwards, in 1995; and one son, John Grimes, in 1995. Mr. Edwards was a retired truck driver for Ryder Trucking. He was a member of the Inter national Brotherhood of Teamsters. Surviving are one daughter, Rebecca J. Edwards, Ridgeley; three sons, Richard H. Edwards II, Ridgeley, George A. "Turk" Edwards and wife Cindy, Springfield, and Donald W. Edwards and wife Nancy, Fort Ashby; one sister, Mary Lou Raley and husband Herman, Ridgeley; special friend, Sharon Stevey, Ridgeley; 18 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave, Cumber land, Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home Sunday at 1 p.m. with Father Edward C. Chapman officiating. Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Cumberland. Pallbearers will be Bob Watkins, Bob Schellhaus, Steve Schellhaus, Bill Cessna, Jim Dawson and Phil Shipley.

TERRY L. CANNON
KEYSER, W.Va. - Terry L. Cannon, 48, of 615 Chestnut St., Keyser, director of vocational, technical and adult education for the Mineral County School System, died Saturday, March 28, 1998, at the Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va.
Born on Jan. 3, 1950, at Keyser, he was a son of Harry L. Cannon of Keyser, and the late Opal (Halterman) Cannon.

Mr. Cannon has served as director of the Mineral County Vocational Technical Center since 1986. Prior to that, he was the administrator of the center. He was a graduate of Keyser High School, Potomac State College, and he received his bachelor of science degree in Secondary Education from West Virginia University. He received his master's degree in Social Studies and administration and supervision from Frostburg State University. Recently, he was named to the West Virginia Joint Commission for Vocational-Technology-Occupational Education by Governor Cecil Underwood.

Mr. Cannon held education endorsements in permanent teacher certifications, vocational administration, elementary and secondary principalship, supervisory and superintendent certification. He also was a certified General Aptitude Test Battery Administrator with the Department of Labor.

Actively involved in his community, he currently was serving on the Mineral County Development Authority, the Mineral County Chamber of Commerce and the Apple Alley Players Advisory Council. He also was very active with the Mineral County Training Network, County Transitional Workforce and the Potomac Highland Education Consortium. He was a member of the State Equity Committee, member and past president of the Keyser Rotary Club and the Keyser Main Street Project. He was named the Outstanding Citizen of Keyser in 1983.

Mr. Cannon was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, Westernport, Md., where he was a past member of the parish council and currently was the instructor for the CCD Class.

Surviving, in addition to his father, are his wife, Janice Kay (Hott) Cannon; three daughters, Holly Cannon, Angel Cannon, Nikki Cannon; and one son, Terry Christian Cannon, all at home; one brother, Norman L. Cannon and wife, Vonna, Keyser; one sister, Amy Smith and husband, Bill, Keyser.

Friends will be received at the Rotruck-Smith Funeral Home, Keyser, on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Westernport, with Father James Hannon as celebrant.

Interment will be in the St. Thomas cemetery, Keyser.

A Christian Wake Service will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday at 6:45 p.m.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Mineral County Vocational Technical Center Career Clubs, One Baker Place, Keyser, WV 26726.

RONALD A. BROWN SR.
SHANKS, W.Va. - Ronald Allen Brown Sr., 48, of Shanks, formerly of Baltimore, Md., died Thursday, March 19, 1998, at the Hampshire Memorial Hospital, Romney, W.Va.
Born June 24, 1949, in Cumberland, Md., he was the son of the late Harold Lee Brown, who preceded him in death in December 1996; and is survived by his mother, Mary Lee Pownell Brown of Romney.

Mr. Brown was disabled from AT&T; in Baltimore. He was a member of the Romney Moose, the VFW, the American Legion, and the Jersey Mountain Ruritan Club. He was a Protestant by Faith.

Surviving are two daughters, Andrea M. Nottingham, Oklahoma, Dawn M. Dowell, Darlington, Md.; two sons, Ronald Allen Brown Jr., and Shawn L. Brown, Shanks; two brothers, Roger L. Brown and Owen G. Brown, Baltimore; and one sister, Vicki A. Haines, Slanesville, W.Va.; and three grandsons.

Friends will be received at the Baldwin Funeral Home, Romney, on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Sunday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Harley F. Baldwin officiating.

Interment will be in the Ebenezer cemetery.

LORA D. ATHEY
KEYSER, W.Va. - Lora D. Athey, 87, of 152 Overton Place, Keyser, died Wednesday, Jan. 14, 1998, at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, Md.
Born Sept. 29, 1910, at Buckhannon, she was a daughter of the late W.W. and Katherine (Reid) Townsend. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Herndon R. "Singie" Athey, on Aug. 12, 1977; two sons, Byron T. Athey and Gary H. Athey; three sisters; and two brothers.

Mrs. Athey was a member of the Church of the Assumption, Keyser.

Surviving are one daughter, Patricia A. Rogers and husband Mausby William, Keyser; three sisters, Gordie Pappas, Buckhannon, Mary C. "Tommie" Hoover, Cumberland, and Marjorie Markowich, Greenbelt, Md.; seven grandchildren, Anthony W. Rogers, Mark T. Athey, Gary H. Athey II, Darin P. Rogers, Julie Beth Harper, Matthew T. Athey, and John D. Athey; and four great-grandchildren, Jeffrey Kesecker, Autumn Athey, Kaleb Athey and Austin Athey.

Friends will be received at the Rotruck-Smith Funeral Home, Keyser, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Church of the Assumption on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. with Father Ivan M. Lebar, T.O.R., as celebrant.

Interment will be in the Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser.

A Christian Wake service will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday at 6:45 p.m.

EVA J. "SUSIE" CRABTREE
RIDGELEY, W.Va. - Eva Josephine "Susie" Crabtree, 59, of Ridgeley, died Monday, Dec. 7, 1998, at Memorial Hospital Hospice.
Born Aug. 15, 1939, in Frostburg, she was the daughter of the late John E. and Patricia (Duckworth) Hart.

Mrs. Crabtree had been employed at Wal-Mart as a "People Greeter."

She was a member of Central United Methodist Church, where she was the former president of the United Methodist Women.

Survivors include her husband, George E. Crabtree; one son, George M. Crabtree, Westernport; two daughters, Susan D. Crabtree and Rita J. Skidmore and husband, Robert, all of Ridgeley; three brothers, George Hart and wife, Kitty, Emporium, Pa., Harland Hart and wife, Donna, Delevan, N.Y., and Robert Hart and wife, Grace, Jackson, Ga.; one sister, Jackie Marshall, Emporium; and two grandsons, Michael G. Crabtree and Matthew D. Crabtree.

Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., 202 Greene St., Cumberland, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Paul E. Dietz officiating.

Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.

Serving as pallbearers will be James Crook, Tim Kennell, Chris Zollner, Paul Nightengale, David Roberson and Edward Jones.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Memorial Hospital Hospice Unit, 600 Memorial Ave., Cumberland, MD 21502.

She was an angel on Earth and will be an angel in heaven.
