GROVER O. ARONHALT
ROMNEY, W.Va. - Grover Owens LeMoine Aronhalt, 76, of Romney, formerly of Cumberland, Md., died Monday, March 24, 1997, at Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, Va.
Born March 2, 1921, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Wilbur S. and Mamie (Norris) Aronhalt. He also was preceded in death by one brother, Wilbur Aronhalt.
Mr. Aronhalt was a retired commercial representative for the Potomac Edison Co. after 42 years of service. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served as a first sergeant in the European Theater of Operations; he received the Bronze Star. He was a 50 year member of Ali Ghan Shrine Club and East Gate Lodge 216 AF&AM.; He was a member of Scottish Rite Bodies; the Romney VFW Post 1101; and the American Legion.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Alice Aronhalt; one daughter, Bette L. Welch and husband Dustin, Oakland; one sister, Mary Aronhalt, Cumberland; and several nephews.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Wednesday from 3:30 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
A memorial service will be conducted by East Gate Lodge at the funeral home on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday at 11 a.m. with Pastor John D. Wardrope officiating.
Interment will be in Maryland Veterans cemetery at Rocky Gap, Flintstone.
Military honors will be accorded by the Combined Veterans Honor Guard.

LILLIAN R. FLANAGAN
SPRINGFIELD, W.Va. - Lillian Ruth Flanagan, 79, of Springfield, died Wednesday, Aug. 6, 1997, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born June 23, 1918, in Ridgeley, she was the daughter of the late Bee G. Smith and Iva (Isner) Smith. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Paul A. Flanagan; one daughter, Juanita Hott; one daughter-in-law, Mary Flanagan; four brothers; and one sister.
Mrs. Flanagan was a member of the Springfield Assembly of God Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Sandra Orndorff and husband Bill, Springfield, with whom she resided, and Janet Wallizer and husband Russell, Springfield; two sons, Robert Flanagan, Fort Ashby, and Kenneth Flanagan and wife Bobbie, Springfield; one sister, Mary Eileen Kirk, Cumberland, Md.; one son-in-law, Robert Hott, Springfield; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, Rt. 28, Fort Ashby, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Norman Landis officiating.
Pallbearers will be Tony Flanagan, Andrew S. Kenney, Kenneth Flanagan Jr., Donnie Wagoner, Eric Land and Robert Flanagan Jr.
MARY SUE DUVALL
SPRINGFIELD, W.Va. - Mary Sue Milleson Duvall, 87, of Springfield, W.Va., died Monday, Sept. 29, 1997, at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, Md.
Born June 12, 1910, in Springfield, she was the daughter of the late Silas C. and Susie French (Taylor) Milleson. She also was preceded in death by two brothers, William Thomas Milleson and Silas C. Milleson Jr.
Mrs. Duvall was a farmer and was a member of the Springfield United Methodist Church.
She is survived by two nieces, Mary French Barbe, Romney, and Sharon Ritz, Morgantown; and two nephews, William J. Milleson Sr., Springfield, and S. Roy Milleson, Springfield; and several great nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the Shaffer Funeral Home, 230 East Main St., Romney, on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Sumner D. Sawyers officiating.
VITALIS L. FOLEY
KEYSER, W.Va. - Vitalis L. Foley, 100, of Heartland of Keyser Nursing Home, Keyser, formerly of Berkeley Springs, died Saturday, June 21, 1997, at the nursing home.
Born March 12, 1897, in Great Cacapon, she was the daughter of the late William E. and Emma A. (Allen) Henry. She also was preceded in death by two husbands, Malcolm R. (Pete) James, in 1949, and Atlee Foley, in 1966.
Mrs. Foley was a homemaker and a former member of the Great Cacapon Ladies Aid Society.
Surviving are one daughter, Jean Bodie, Berkeley Springs; one brother, Arthur Henry, Egle Nursing Home, Lonaconing, Md.; one grandson, James Newkirk, Hagerstown, Md.; two great-grandchildren; and a number of neices and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m.
Services will be at the funeral home on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Samuel Starling officiating.

ELK GARDEN, W.Va. - Rebecca Dawn Aronhalt, 23, of Elk Garden, died Sunday, June 29, 1997, at Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser.
Born Sept. 26, 1973, in Petersburg, she was the daughter of Vernon J. and Norma (Close) Aronhalt.
Surviving are five brothers, Vernon Jr., Gary, Terry and Kevin, all of Elk Garden, and David Aronhalt, Keyser; four sisters, Debbie Sites and Kathy Parril, Keyser, Angela Aronhalt and Kay McRobie, Elk Garden.
The body is at the David A. Burdock Funeral Home, Kitzmiller, where friends will be received on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the Nethkin Hill Methodist Church, on Tuesday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Leslie Hipp officiating.
MARY S. HINKLE
PETERSBURG, W.Va. - Mary S. Hinkle, 89, of Petersburg, W.Va., died Thursday, May 8, 1997, at the Grant County Nursing Home, where she had resided since Oct. 15, 1990.
Born Aug. 27, 1907, at Keezletown, Va., she was the daughter of the late William Henry and Sarah (Taylor) Davis. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Charles A. Hinkle, July 8, 1992; one sister; and five brothers.
Mrs. Hinkle was a member of the Grove Street United Methodist Church.
Surviving are one son, Charles C. Hinkle and wife Dottie, Alexandria, Va.; three grandchildren, Tamara K. Sites and husband Reggie, Charles Joseph Hinkle, and Daniel William Hinkle; and one great-granddaughter, Lindsey Nicole Sites.
Friends will be received at the Schaeffer Funeral Home, 11 N. Main St., Petersburg, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

ARTHUR J. CANFIELD
ELKINS, W.Va. - Arthur Junior "Bud" Canfield, 66, a native of Elkins, and more recently a resident of Skyline Drive, Carpendale, W.Va., departed this life Friday, June 13, 1997, at his home. He had been in declining health since January.
Born Aug. 28, 1930, at Montrose, W.Va., he was a son of the late Francis Arthur Canfield and Georgia England Canfield, who survives at Elkins. He also was preceded in death by one infant sister, Keith Analee Canfield.
"Bud" was a graduate of Elkins High School with the Class of 1948; was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, having served as an MP in the United States Army from 1955 to 1957; was retired from Cumberland Steel and Budget Rentals at Washington, D.C.; was a member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, Local 489 for 26 years; and was a member of the Short Gap Baptist Church at Short Gap, W.Va.
Surviving in addition to his mother are three sons, Paul Iski, Ridgely, Arthur Dale Canfield, Manassas, Va., and Edward Lee Canfield, Cumberland, Md.; three daughters, Martha Turner, Winter Garden, Fla., Sandra Suter, Carpendale, and Carol Canfield, Bradenton, Fla.; one sister, Dorothy Wilmoth, Elkins; 16 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Lohr-Barb-Vance Funeral Home in Elkins, W.Va., on Monday from 5 to 9 p.m.
Final Rites will be conducted at the funeral home chapel on Tuesday at 2 p.m. The Rev. Oscar Ohler will officiate and interment will follow at the Montrose I.O.O.F. cemetery at Montrose, W.Va.
