JOHN W. BOSLEY
BLOOMINGTON - John W. Bosley, 62, of Knight Street, Bloomington, died Saturday, Feb. 22, 1997, at Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser, W.Va.
Born May 14, 1934, in Bloomington, he was the son of Edris (Elliott) Bosley, of Bloomington, and the late John Bosley. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Lottie (Farris) Bosley, in 1994; and a brother, Donald Bosley.
Mr. Bosley was retired from the Island Creek Coal Co. He was an avid hunter.
Surviving in addition to his mother are a son, John Paul Bosley and wife Emogene, Westernport; one brother Robert Bosley, Bloomington; two sisters, Margaret Paugh, Backbone Mountain, and Ruth Cavey, Bloomington; and one granddaughter, Casey Bosley.
Friends will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. William Brown officiating.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Paugh, Ed Paugh, Bill Paugh, Terry Cavey, Rob Cavey and Shane Bosley.
BEATRICE V. BOSLEY
ELK GARDEN, W.Va. - Beatrice V. Bosley, 65, of Elk Garden, died on Sunday, May 25, 1997, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland.
Born Oct. 26, 1931, in Keyser, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Prova (Smith) Wolfe.
Mrs. Bosley was Pentecostal by faith.
Surviving are her husband, Luther V. Bosley; one son, Calvin F. Bosley and wife Ginger E., New Creek; six grandchildren, Kacia, Nikki, C.J., and Hannah Bosley, and John and Heather Berg; one sister, Neva Robinson, Cumberland; and a former daughter-in-law, Susan E. Bosley, Elk Garden.
Friends will be received at the Markwood McKenzie Funeral Home, Keyser, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be at the funeral home on Wednesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Murlen Brasted and the Rev. Wayne Funkhouser officiating.
ROY HOWARD BORROR
KEYSER, W.Va. - Roy Harold Borror, 82, of Lynmar Street, Keyser, died Sunday, Feb. 23, 1997 at the Heartland of Keyser Nursing Home at Keyser.
Born Aug. 25, 1914 at Keyser, he was a son of the late William O. and Eliza O. (Staggs) Borror. He was also preceded in death by one son, Harold Edwin Borror; two sisters, Violet Parish and Ethel Borror.
Mr. Borror was a retired owner/operator of the Arco Service Station in Fairfax. Va. and Keyser. He was a member of the Victory Independent Baptist Church at Keyser.
Surviving are his wife, Hazel K. (Summers) Borror; two sons, Jerry Borror of Keyser, and Calvin Borror of Fairfax; two brothers, Luther Borror, a resident at the Veterans Administration Center at Martinsburg and William Borror of Fort Ashby; one sister, Lucille Kidwell of Colonial Beach, Va.; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Rotruck-Smith Funeral Home, Keyser, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Randall Larry and Pastor John Bonds officiating.
LUTHER W. BORROR
KEYSER, W.Va. - Luther W. Borror, 86, of Route 1, Box 158, Keyser, died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 1997, at the Veterans Medical Center, Martinsburg.
Born June 17, 1911, in Mineral County, he was a son of the late William O. and Eliza O. (Staggs) Borror. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie C. (Reeves) Borror, on Oct. 13, 1990; one brother, Roy H. Borror; and two sisters, Ethel Borror and Violet Parish.
Mr. Borror was a former employee of the B&O; Railroad, and the owner of Borror's Auction Service. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He attended the former Fountain United Brethren Church. He was a member of the Fountain Ruritan Club, Fountain; Queens Point Memorial Post No. 6775 VFW, McCoole, Md., and Victory Post No. 155 American Legion, Westernport, Md.
Surviving are two daughters, Mary K. Snyder and Shirley A. Lee, both of Keyser; one brother, William M. Borror, Fort Ashby; one sister, Lucille Kidwell, Colonial Beach, Va.; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Rotruck-Smith Funeral Home, Keyser, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Private graveside services for the family will be conducted on Friday with Mr. Craig Wagoner officiating.
Interment will be in Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser.
GEORGE A. BOOR
LOVINGSTON, Va. - George Andrew Boor, 70, of Lovingston, formerly of Romney, W.Va., died Wednesday, Aug. 27, 1997, at the University of Virginia Medical Center, Charlottesville.
Born Aug. 19, 1927, in Petersburg, W.Va., he was a son of the late John L. "J.L." Boor Sr. and Mary Kathryne (Stallings) Boor. He also was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Louise Harman.
George was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Lovingston, and a former member of the First Baptist Church, Romney. He was a 1945 graduate of Fork Union Military Academy, Fork Union, a World War II U.S. Navy veteran, a former employee with the architectual firms of L.D. Schmidit and Robert J. Bennett prior to accepting the position of Director of Building and Grounds with the West Virginia State Schools for the Deaf and Blind, Romney. He retired from that position in 1994 after 20 years of service.
Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Jeanne (Hook) Boor; two daughters, Kathy Russell, Aiken, S.C., and Nancy Smith, Romney, W.Va.; three sons, Larry Boor, Ocracoke Island, N.C., Rick Boor, Winchester, and David Boor, Lovingston; a sister, Norma Gerstell, Keyser, W.Va.; a brother, John L. "Jack" Boor, Cabins, W.Va.; 13 grandchildren, Kent Waldeck and wife Anne, Shepherdstown, W.Va., Kelly Waldeck and wife Carla, Martinsburg, W.Va., Kevin Waldeck, Shepherdstown, W.Va., Mike Boor, Martinsburg, W.Va., Jessica Boor and Karen Boor, both of Norfolk, Justin Boor and Jennifer Boor, both of Ocracoke Island, N.C., Laurie Lewis and Missy Hutzler, both of Romney, W.Va., Travis, Andrew, and Jonathan Logan Boor, all of Lovingston; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church, Romney, on Saturday at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Frank Meadows officiating.
Private family interment will follow on Sunday in Ebenezer cemetery, Romney.
The family will receive friends following the service in the church social hall and suggest that memorials take the form of contributions to the First Baptist Church, Romney, WV 26757.
The McKee Funeral Home, Augusta, W.Va., is in charge of the arrangements.
NORMA L. FICKES
FINZEL - Norma Lee Fickes, 56, of 57 Sampson Rock Road, Finzel, died Sunday, Nov. 16, 1997, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland.
Born April 21, 1941, in Finzel, she was the daughter of Effie (Werner) Shockey, Finzel, and the late Roy Shockey.
Mrs. Fickes was a homemaker. She was a member of the Faith Independent Baptist Church, Frostburg.
Surviving, in addition to her mother, are her husband of 32 years, Herman Fickes; two sons, Billy J. Fickes, Grantsville, and Barry E. Fickes and wife Kimberly, LaVale; one brother, Rudy Shockey and wife Sandy; one sister, Bonnie Shockey, all of Finzel; two grandchildren, Jennifer Fickes and Christopher Fickes, both of Grantsville; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, Frostburg, on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the Faith Independent Baptist Church, 301 Shaw St., Frostburg, on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Pastor David Childs officiating.
HILDA L. BOBO
RIDGELEY, W.Va. - Hilda Lockard Bobo, 86, of Ridgeley, died Tuesday, April 29, 1997, at Valley View Nursing Home, Berkeley Springs.
Born Feb. 5, 1911, in Altoona, Pa., she was preceded in death by her husband Ezekiel Olin Bobo, and a son, Richard L. Bobo Sr.
Mrs. Bobo worked for the Kelly Springfield Tire Co. in the production department. She was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church, Ridgeley.
Surviving are a son, James Bobo, Green Lawn, N.Y.; daughter-in-law, Lavern J. McDonald, Cumberland; sister, Rose Lockard, Dawn View Manor Nursing Home, Fort Ashby; and five grandchildren, Jill Bobo, Ann Bobo, Chris Bobo, John Bobo, and Richard Bobo Jr.
There will be no visitation.
Graveside services will be conducted at Sunset Memorial Park on Friday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Robert Cook officiating.
