FALLING WATERS, W.Va. - Walter E. Sigel, 52, of Kitchens Orchard Road, died Friday, April 28, 2000, at his home.
Born March 20, 1948, in Buck Valley, Pa., he was the son of the late Earl and Arvada Fletcher Sigel.
He was a 1968 graduate of Monroe College and a graduate of Frederick Community College.
He was assistant vice president of Information Systems Technology for Citicorp Credit Services Inc. in Hagerstown.
He was a Protestant.
He was a member of the National Rifle Association.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra K. Blake Sigel, whom he married
Sept. 6, 1969 in Thurmont; a daughter, Rachel Irene Sigel-Domenico of Martinsburg, W.Va.; a son, Eric Alan Sigel of Falling Waters; two brothers, Watson Sigel and Travis Sigel, both of Warfordsburg, Pa.; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 141 W. Main St., Hancock. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran cemetery, Buck Valley Road, in Warfordsburg.
The family will receive friends Sunday and Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. For the convenience of friends, the funeral home will be open Sunday from 3 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

RANSON, W.Va. - Martha Louise "Noodles" Lloyd, 77, of Ranson, died Thursday, March 30, 2000, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital.
Born Aug. 9, 1922, in Jefferson County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Hampton and Daisy McGolrick Ramey.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward J. Lloyd.
She worked for High's store before retiring.
She was a member of Charles Town Baptist Church.
She was a member of Ranson Senior Center and Mended Hearts.
She is survived by a niece, Betty Louise Grey of Halltown, W.Va.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Marvin Ramey, and three half sisters, Elizabeth Malpeade, Fay Brookman and Gertrude Dillow.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Jefferson Chapel Funeral Home in Ranson. Dr. Wyman Hall will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens in Martinsburg, W.Va.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Anice C. Canby
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Anice C. Canby, 71, of Martinsburg, died Thursday, March 30, 2000, at City Hospital in Martinsburg.
Born April 17, 1928, in Berkeley County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late William and Elsie Weaver Shimp.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Melvin R. Canby; a daughter, JoAnn Folk of Martinsburg; two sons, Kenny Canby and Larry R. Canby, both of Martinsburg; three sisters, Mae Fipps and Edna Shimp, both of Rolla, Mo., and Edith Barrett of Martinsburg; two brothers, James Shimp and Nathan Shimp, both of Martinsburg; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by Jasper and Naomi Myers, who raised her; two sisters, Emmie Shimp and Helen Shimp; and two brothers, John Shimp and Lester Shimp.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St. in Martinsburg. The Rev. Mark D. Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale cemetery.

Loyce E. Blankinship
HEDGESVILLE, W.Va. - Loyce E. "L.E." Blankinship, 81, of Hedgesville, died Sunday, April 30, 2000, at Valley View Nursing Home, Berkeley Springs, W.Va.
Born July 26, 1918, in Appleton, Ark., he was the son of the late Cloyd and Eva Smith Blankinship.
He retired from General Motors after 26 years of service.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Navy from May 12, 1944 to Jan. 17, 1946.
He was a member of Tomahawk Christian Church, Tomahawk, W.Va.
He was a honorary member of Tomahawk Ruritan Club.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Rheba Shoptaw Blankinship; a daughter, Carolyn J. Marion of Tomahawk; four grandchildren, Jennifer A. Adams, Gail L. Rockwell, Julie K. Franz and Melinda Lee Adams, and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg. The Rev. Lee Ashley will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale cemetery.

Alfred W. deQuillfeldt
FALLING WATERS, W.Va. - Alfred Wood deQuillfeldt, 78, of 162 Tabernacle Road, died Thursday, April 27, 2000, at Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born Feb. 17, 1922, in Amityville, N.Y., he was the son of the late Charles and Sara Wood deQuillfeldt.
His wife, Leona Delores Leggett McGehee deQuillfeldt, died in 1997.
He was a gradate of Amityville High School, Amityville.
He was employed as a supervisor with Fairchild Republic Aircraft in Farmingdale, N.Y., and Hagerstown until retiring in 1984.
He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II.
He was of the Protestant faith.
He was a member of Potomac Post 202 American Legion, Williamsport, Sunrise Fish and Game Association, Long Island, N.Y., and Singles Meet Singles on Sunday Dance Club, Martinsburg.
He is survived by three daughters, Robin Sue Tosten of Williamsport, Bonnie Lynn Rice of Bowling Green, Ky., and Jennifer Beth Castro of Queens, N.Y.; a son, Jeffrey Lee McGehee of Livingston, N.Y.; two brothers, Charles deQuillfeldt and Louis deQuillfeldt, both of Amityville; a close friend, Dee Raney; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Andrew McGehee II, and a grandson, Jason Rice.
Memorial services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport. Chaplain Jerry Mehaffey will officiate. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Williamsport.
The family will receive friends Tuesday one hour prior to the services at the funeral home, which will be open after 9 a.m.
There will be no viewing.

Jack J. Russo
HARPERS FERRY, W.Va. - Jack John Russo, 74, of Shannondale, died Saturday, April 22, 2000, at Winchester (Va.) Medical Center.
Born Feb. 22, 1926, in Avilino, Italy, he was the son of the late Joseph and Antoinette Russo Russo.
He was a management analyst with the U.S. government in the Department of Defense at the Pentagon in Virginia.
He served in the Infantry Division of the U.S. Army during World War II in the European Theater. His medals included the EAME Campaign Medal and the World War II Victory Medal.
He was of the Catholic faith.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Lee J. Falvo Russo; two sons, Jack J. Russo Jr. of Norfolk, Va., and Richard T. Russo of Virginia Beach, Va.; one sister, Lucy Gourgues of Thibodaux, La.; and two grandsons.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Lawrence Russo.
A Memorial Mass was held at St. Rita Roman Catholic Church in Long Island, N.Y.
There was no visitation.
