James H. Kinkead

HEDEGSVILLE, W.Va. - James Henry Kinkead, 83, of Hedgesville, died Thursday, May 18, 2000, at City Hospital in Martinsburg, W.Va.

Born April 25, 1917, in Springfield, W.Va., he was the son of the late John A. and Beaula Blue Kinkead.

He retired in 1979 from Martin-Marietta.

A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army.

He was a member of Hedgesville Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, I. Elvira Sperow Kinkead; a daughter, Virginia A. Cobb of Hedgesville; a son, Douglas H. Kinkead of Martinsburg; a brother, Robert A. Kinkead of Tomahawk, W.Va.; four granddaughters; a great-granddaughter; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Annie Kinkead and Lillian Franks; and two brothers, John B. Kinkead and Hugh Kinkead.

Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Rosedale Funeral Home in Martinsburg. Pastor Andrew L. Snelson will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hedgesville Presbyterian Church, c/o Evelyn Sine, P.O. Box 18, Hedgesville, WV 25427.

Howard R. Trittipoe Jr.

BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - Howard Randolph "Trix" Trittipoe Jr., 72, of Berkeley Springs, died Thursday, May 18, 2000, at his home in Thunderbird Hills.

Born Aug. 4, 1927, in Washington, D.C., he was the son of the late Howard Randolph and Vyolett Jewell Trittipoe.

He was a graduate of McKinley Tech High School in Washington, D.C. In 1956, he earned a bachelor of science degree in Physical Education, Recreation and Health from Maryland University at College Park, Md.

He was a fireman with the District of Columbia Fire Department from April 1958 until his retirement in March 1975.

He served in the 11th Airborne, U.S. Army from Oct. 6, 1946, until his honorable discharge as corporal on Sept. 15, 1949.

He was a Presbyterian.

He was a member of Maryland University "M" Club, and Terrapin Club, 11th Airborne Division Association, Mid-Atlantic Chapter 11th Airborne Association, 187th Airborne R.C.T. Association, past commander and member of both Alderton-Dawson American Legion Post 60 and Risinger-Stotler VFW Post 4019 of Berkeley Springs, a member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1483, a retired member of Morgan County Fire Board, a member of Martinsburg Elks Club, Yamoto Cadre Training Center, National Rifle Association and National Association of Retired Federal Employees.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Lee Yost Cohill, whom he married June 26, 1973; two stepchildren, Felicia C. Hovermale and Felippe B. Cohill Jr., both of Berkeley Springs; three step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and three cousins.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Katherine Trittipoe Johnson.

Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, 306 Union St. in Berkeley Springs. The Rev. John S. Ledford will officiate. Burial with graveside military honors provided by Tri-State Honor Guard will be in Rosedale cemetery in Martinsburg, W.Va.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, where there will be a Moose Lodge memorial service at 7 p.m. The funeral home will open Sunday at 9 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Berkeley Springs Volunteer Fire Co., P.O. Box 142, Berkeley Springs, WV 25411.

Brian S. DeHaven

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Brian Scott DeHaven, 33, of Martinsburg, died Thursday, May 18, 2000, at City Hospital in Martinsburg.

Born Nov. 22, 1933, in Berkeley County, W.Va., he was the son of David C. and Mary Ann DeHaven of Inwood, W.Va., and Carolyn B. Faircloth Saville and Vincent Saville Jr. of Hedgesville, W.Va.

He was a 1985 graduate of Martinsburg High School.

He was employed by D&C Guttering.

He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by a close friend, Pamela Barnes of Martinsburg; a sister, Kim DeHaven Lamp of Martinsburg; three stepsisters, Amy Wilk of Hagerstown, Nicole Saville of Winchester, Va., and Jackie Saville of Romney, W.Va.; a stepbrother, Pete Saville of Martinsburg; grandmothers Thelma F. DeHaven and Eleanor Faircloth, both of Martinsburg; and a niece.

Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St. in Martinsburg. The Rev. Al Clipp will officiate.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Virginia E. Skinner

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - Virginia E. Skinner, 92, of Shepherdstown, died Saturday, May 20, 2000, at Julia Manor Health Care Center in Hagerstown.

Born June 22, 1907, in Jefferson County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Frank and Alice Jones Keller.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis E. Skinner.

She was a member of New Hope Assembly of God Church in Shepherdstown.

She is survived by two daughters, Ethel Franklin of Hagerstown and Ruth Murphy of Everett, Pa.; a son, George E. Skinner of Charles Town, W.Va.; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Dorothy E. Swope; two sisters, Rebecca Wolhar and Emma Mae Spong; and two brothers, Richard Keller and Sandy Keller.

Services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St. in Martinsburg, W.Va. The Rev. Philip V. Bayliss will officiate.

Graveside services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Parklawn cemetery in Rockville, Md.

The family will receive friends Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Nancy C. Barrett

BUNKER HILL, W.Va. - Nancy C. Barrett, 57, of Bunker Hill, died Saturday, May 20, 2000, at Winchester Medical Center.

Born April 8, 1943, in Berkeley County, W.Va., she was the daughter of Geraldine Boyd Mason of Gerrardstown, W.Va., and the late Charles Jack Mason.

She was a 1961 graduate of Musselman High School.

She was a member of Tri State Baptist Church of Charles Town, W.Va.

She is survived by her husband, Gary H. Barrett Sr.; a son, G. Hunter Barrett Jr., of Martinsburg; a daughter, Pamela D. Johnson of Martinsburg; a sister, Dorothy LeFevre of Beddington, W.Va.; a brother, Kenneth Lee Mason of Tomahawk, W.Va.; two grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Donald Mason.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Tri State Baptist Church of Charles Town, W.Va. Dr. Ray T. Love will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens. He will be taken to the church one hour prior to the services.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Tri State Baptist Church, Route 340 North, Charles Town, WV 25414.

Anna M. Brantner-Foreman

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Anna Marie Brantner-Foreman, 86, of Martinsburg, died Saturday, May 20, 2000, at Julia Manor Nursing Home, Hagerstown.

Born Aug. 28, 1913, in Martinsburg, she was the daughter of the late Robert Lewis and Mary Elizabeth Browning Brantner.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Norman Wesley Foreman.

She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.

She is survived by a son, Robert Wesley Foreman of College Park, Md.; a grandson, Mark Wesley Foreman of Chesapeake, Va.; and a granddaughter, Kris Ann Foreman of Sterling City, Texas.

She was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg. The Rev. James D. Riley Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
