MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Myron C. Frech, 75, of Martinsburg, died Wednesday, March 1, 2000, at Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg.
Born Aug. 16, 1924, in Illinois, he was the son of the late Otto Frech and Anna Fanke Frech.
He is survived by a sister, Bernice Zastera of Elmhurst, Ill.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Veterans Affairs Post Chapel. Steven J. Jenks, chaplain, will officiate. Burial will be private.
Arrangements are by Brown Funeral Home in Martinsburg.
Daisy E. Goodwin
GREAT CACAPON, W.Va. - Daisy Elizabeth Goodwin, 89, of Great Cacapon, died Friday, March 10, 2000, at her home.
Born June 7, 1910, in Pearre, Md., she was the daughter of the late William Edward and Gertrude Lucinda Foreback Allen.
Her husband, Horace H. Goodwin, preceded her in death.
She was a licensed practical nurse and had been a homemaker since her retirement.
She was a Protestant.
She is survived by three nieces, Bonna Carnahan of Carnegie, Pa., Peggy R. Bramlet of Lady Lake, Fla., and Christine Lantz of Cumberland, Md.; three nephews, Robert W. Koontz Jr. of Great Cacapon, Roy E. Koontz of Manassas, Va., and James Riley of Cumberland; great-nieces; and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Muriel O. Koontz, Opal T. Wharton and Viola C. Riley, and a nephew.
Services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, 306 Union St., Berkeley Springs. The Rev. Henry L. Fisher will officiate. Burial will be in Great Cacapon cemetery in Great Cacapon.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral home will be open today from 2 to 9 p.m. for the convenience of friends.

Paul R. Aikens
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Paul R. Aikens, 85, of Martinsburg, died Wednesday, March 8, 2000, at his home.
Born Nov. 30, 1914, in Berkeley County, W.Va., he was the son of the late Richard Harrison and Viola June Hollis Aikens.
His wife, Margaret I. Elwood Aikens, preceded him in death.
He had been employed by Shockey Plumbing; and retired from Shenandoah Gas.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy.
He was a Protestant.
He is survived by two daughters, Patricia Ann Stevens of Tampa, Fla., and M. Beverlee McDonald of Tipp City, Ohio; one son, Richard H. Aikens of Haymarket, Va.; one sister, Pearl Shearer of Pasadena, Md.; two brothers, Harry W. Aikens and Herman Aikens, both of Winchester, Va.; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Estella Leonard and Geraldine J. Aikens; three brothers, Alton Parker, Richard H. and James E. Aikens; and two great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at Pleasant View Memory Gardens. The Rev. James L. Richard will officiate.
The family will receive friends at Brown Funeral Home in Martinsburg, Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m.

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - The Rev. Doy K. Hissam, 93, of Martinsburg, died Thursday, March 9, 2000, at Canterbury Center in Shepherdstown, W.Va.
Born Dec. 20, 1906, in Hacker Valley, W.Va., he was the son of the late David Franklin and Rouhamie Anderson Hissam.
He retired as a Baptist Minister.
He is survived by his wife, Hattie Mae Parsons Hissam; a daughter, Barbara McMillen of Martinsburg; five sons, Kenneth Hissam of Ambridge, Pa., Eddie Hissam of Buckhannon, W.Va., Robert Dale Hissam of Monaca, Pa., Jimmie Hissam of Martinsburg and Larry Hissam of Cleveland; a sister, Vina Gibson of Kimbolton, Ohio; a brother, Delmer Hissam; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Margie Mae Hissam; a son, Roger Wayne Hissam; four brothers, Glenn Hissam, Everett Hissam, Elzie Hissam and Bertie Hissam; and a grandson.
Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Heaston United Methodist Church in Kanawha Head, W.Va. The Rev. David Hamrick will officiate. Burial will be in Heaston Ridge cemetery in Kanawha Head.

GERRARDSTOWN, W.Va. - Jane Justice Miller, 56, of Gerrardstown, died Wednesday, March 8, 2000, at City Hospital in Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born Feb. 6, 1944, in Logansport, Ind., she was the daughter of Paulita Sheets Justice of Logansport and the late William Franklin Justice.
She attended Logansport schools. She graduated from Purdue University in 1966 with a degree in interior design.
She worked as a staff interior designer at Woodward and Lothrop, Inc. in Washington, D.C.; was assistant to Mariam Crocker, a lamp and shade designer in Georgetown, Md. ; and operated Jane Miller Interiors in the Eastern Panhandle.
She was active in Trinity Episcopal Church in Martinsburg.
Her work was featured in regional and national publications including Colonial Homes magazine.
She was a member of The Olde Berkeley Garden Club.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, John Douglas Miller, whom she married
in 1971; two children, Anne Comfort Miller of Durham, N.C. and Douglas Gold Miller of Breckenridge, Colo.; a sister, Mary E. Lavender of Logansport; and a brother, Wilson C. Justice of Logansport.
A memorial service will be Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, 200 W. King St. in Martinsburg. The Rev. Jack T. Sutor Jr. will officiate.
Private burial will be in Gerrardstown Presbyterian cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg.

CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Edna Roper Widmyer, 70, of Charles Town, died Wednesday, March 8, 2000, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Ranson, W.Va.
Born April 28, 1929, in Charles Town, she was the daughter of the late Chester A. and Bertha Bareford Roper.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ralph W. Rutherford, in 1975.
She attended Charles Town High School.
She was a homemaker. She had worked at Doubleday Book Co. in Berryville, Va., for 26 years.
She was a member of Zion Episcopal Church, Charles Town, and taught Sunday school.
She is survived by her second husband of 21 years, Glenn E. Widmyer; a daughter, Althea R. Ehrman of San Mateo, Calif.; stepchildren, Susan Smoot of Stephens City, Va. and Leslie Widmyer of Ashland, Va.; a sister, Loleta Kelican Alger of Charles Town; four grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Marcia Rutherford Hines; two sisters, Elsie Mitchell and Agnes Pearl; and six brothers, Cletus Roper, Franklin Roper, Chester Roper, Woodrow Pershing Roper, Howard Roper and Ollie Roper.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Zion Episcopal Church, 300 E. Congress St. in Charles Town. The Revs. Jack Weise and Richard E. Neal will officiate. Burial will be in Edge Hill cemetery in Charles Town.
The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home in Charles Town.
