MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Mary Kaye Lickey, 51, of Martinsburg, died Friday, Feb. 18, 2000, at City Hospital in Martinsburg.
Born Feb. 20, 1948, in Berkeley County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Percy M. and Rosemary Shrader Mauck.
She was a graduate of Shepherd College and received her master's degree from West Virginia University.
She was a teacher at Hedgesville High School for 28 years.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, and Independent Bible Church.
She was a member of the National Education Association.
She is survived by a son, Brian Lickey of Hedgesville, W.Va., and a grandson, Ian Lickey.
Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Independent Bible Church. The Rev. Mark Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St. in Martinsburg; and Monday at 1 p.m. at the church.

Rise K. Kees
INWOOD, W.Va. - Rise K. Kees, 51, of Inwood, died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2000, at City Hospital in Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born March 10, 1948, in Berkeley County, W.Va., she was the daughter of Obera Stum of Shepherdstown, W.Va., and Wanda Grubbs Stum of Martinsburg.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, James W. Kees; five daughters, Janice Chilcott and Pamela Kees, both of Martinsburg, Bobbi Vanorsdale of Bunker Hill, W.Va., and Belinda Copley and Missy Kees, both of Inwood; three sisters, Linda McKinney of Virginia, Lois Pennington of Glengary, W.Va., and Donna Stum of Martinsburg; two brothers, James Stum of Tomahawk, W.Va., and Paul Stum of Martinsburg; eight grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be Monday at 1:30 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St. in Martinsburg. The Rev. Wayne Rimmer will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

HARPERS FERRY, W.Va. - Jimmie Lou Bonar, 67, of Harpers Ferry, died Monday, Feb. 14, 2000, at Washington (D.C.) Medical Center.
Born April 7, 1932, in Brilliant, Ala., she was the daughter of the late Alton Parker and Zelma McGothlin Clark.
She was a secretary for Dr. Boholst.
She was a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church.
She was a member of Mount Mission; and Shannondale Womens Club.
She is survived by her husband, Curtis Blake Bonar; a daughter, Ginger Susan Carson of Ranson, W.Va.; a son, Gregory Blake Bonar Sr. of Kearneysville, W.Va.; a sister, Janice Sue Keese of Helen, W.Va.; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth Clark and Larry Clark.
Services were Thursday, Feb. 17, at 1 p.m. at St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Harpers Ferry. The Rev. Victor Lawson officiated. Burial was in St. Andrews on the Mount cemetery in Harpers Ferry.

Charles N. Van Middlesworth Sr.
FALLING WATERS, W.Va. - Charles Nathaniel Van Middlesworth Sr., 76, of Falling Waters, died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2000, at City Hospital in Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born July 17, 1923, in Alexandria, Va., he was the son of the late Lester and Hazel Brandt Van Middlesworth.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Teresa Patricia Fitz Van Middlesworth.
He retired as a rural letter carrier.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1946.
He was of the Catholic faith.
He was a member of American Cutting Horse Association; owner of Trails End Stables, Falling Waters; and was a Horseman Extraordinaire.
He was a member of American Legion Post 202 in Williamsport; AMVETS; Moose Lodge 2435 in Funkstown; a past member of Falling Waters Lions Club; and a member of Disabled American Veterans.
He is survived by 11 children, Dr. Patricia Ann Marstellar of Stone Mountain, Ga., Charles Nathaniel Van Middlesworth Jr. of San Jose, Calif., Lt. Colonel David Lester Van Middlesworth, James Wallace Van Middlesworth and Honore Rose Castleman, all of Martinsburg, John Randolph Van Middlesworth and Laura Jeanette Kretzer, both of Falling Waters, Thomas Leo Van Middlesworth of Rockville, Md., Mary Hazel Urias of Winnsboro, S.C., Command Master Chief Michael Henry Van Middlesworth of Jacksonville, Fla. and Teresa Marie Maykrantz of Sterling, Va.; a brother, Dr. Lester Van Middlesworth of Memphis, Tenn.; 16 grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
Services will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St. in Martinsburg. The Rev. Alfred E. Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Harmony cemetery in Marlowe, W.Va., with military services by members of Newton D. Baker Post 896 VFW and Berkeley Post 14 American Legion.

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Cora K. Kitchen, 77, of Martinsburg, died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2000, at City Hospital in Martinsburg.
Born April 11, 1922, in Berkeley County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late James W. Sr. and Mary E. Myers Butts.
She retired from City Hospital. She was a beautician.
She was a member of Bethel Assembly of God Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Jeanie Miller of Shepherdstown, W.Va.; four sisters, Pansy Morrison of Pikeside, W.Va., Mary L. McGowan and Joyce A. Walker, both of Martinsburg, and Betty Z. Shoup of Inwood, W.Va.; six brothers, James W. Butts, Lee V. L. Butts, Russell Butts and Wesley Butts, all of Martinsburg, Curtis Butts of Ganotown, W.Va. and Freddie Butts of Inwood; and a granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Noble W. Kitchen Jr. and Ronald Kitchen; and a brother, Charles W. Butts.
Services will be Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg. Pastors Keith Edwards and Arnold Brown will officiate. Burial will be in Tuscarora cemetery.

Judy A. Peterson
KEARNEYSVILLE, W.Va. - Judy Ann Peterson, 58, of Wide Horizon, died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2000, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Ranson, W.Va.
Born Feb. 7, 1942, in Charles Town, W.Va., she was the daughter of Katherine Mills Reid of Kearneysville, and the late Frank Ranalli.
She attended Charles Town High School.
She was employed by DALB Co. Industrial Park in Bardane, W.Va., and formerly by Dixie-Narco in Ranson, W.Va.
She was of the Baptist faith.
She was a member of Women of the Moose Chapter 1028 and Jackson-Perks American Legion Post 71, both in Charles Town.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Victor E. "Pete" Peterson, whom she married
Feb. 18, 1962; two sons, Richard Todd Peterson of Gerrardstown, W.Va., and Howard A. Peterson, at home; one sister, Mary Larzzano of Sarasota, Fla.; one brother, Frank Ranalli of Ranson; four grandchildren; nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Services will be Sunday at 1 p.m. at Charles Town Baptist Church, 203 E. Congress St., Charles Town. Wyman Hall will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens in Martinsburg.
Friends will be received Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home in Charles Town.
