Gracie Rexrode Ober, 54, of Durbin, died Monday, February 21, 2000, in the VA hospital in Clarksburg.

David L. Swecker, Sr.
David L. Swecker, Sr. David L. Swecker, Sr., 57, of Waynesburg, Ohio, died February 11, 2000, in Mercy Medical Center at Canton, Ohio, after an extended illness.
He was born in Huttonsville, a son of Orville W. Swecker, of Canton, and the late Bernadine Swecker.
Survivors, in addition to his father, include his wife, Linda K. Swecker; a daughter, Anita Soucy, of Auburn, Maine; a son, David L. Swecker, Jr., of Canton; two stepsons, Robert and Jason Mayberry, both at home; stepmother, Mildred Swecker, of Canton; five sisters, Sue Dean, of Harrisonburg, Virginia, Loretta Burner, of Durbin, Nancy Lanham and Belinda Toms, both of Huttonsville, and Naomi Lanham, of Mill Creek; two brothers, Orville Swecker, Jr., of Meadville, Pennsylvania , and Carl Swecker, of Bowden; a stepbrother, Donald McVil, of Canton; and two grandchildren.
Mr. Swecker was a truck driver for Reliable Transport. He lived in Massillon and Magnolia, Ohio, before moving to Waynesburg.
Funeral service was held on February 14 at the Finefrock-Gordan Funeral Home in Magnolia with the Rev. Lester Rowan officiating. Burial was in the Sandy Valley Cemetery in Waynesburg.
Barbara Joyce Pritt Cochran
Barbara Joyce Pritt Cochran, age 49, of Troutville, Virginia, died Wednesday, February 16, 2000, at home, after a short illness.
She was born in Caldwell on September 25, 1950, a daughter of Dessie McMillion Pritt, of Droop Mountain and the late Burley Pritt.
Mrs. Cochran lived in Botetourt County, Virginia, for the past 27 years, and was employed by the Botetourt County School System for the last 10 years. She was active in family history research and a member of the Williamsburg ( West Virginia) Historical Society.
Survivors include her husband, Gary Wayne Cochran, of Troutville; one daughter, Alicia Cochran, of Roanoke, Virgnia; one son, Jared Wayne Cochran, of Troutville; her mother, Dessie Pritt, of Droop; a sister, Anita “Kack” Withrow, and a brother, Randall Pritt, both of Droop.
Services were held Saturday at 2 p. m. at the Morgan Funeral Home in Lewisburg by the Rev. Gail Cutlip, with burial in the Morningside Cemetery in Renick.
Rayburn D. Doyle
Rayburn D. Doyle, age 65, of Oswego, New York, died February 19, 2000, at Community General Hospital.
Born in Linwood, he was a son of the late Grady and Mabel Showalter Doyle, and was a graduate of Marlinton High School. He had been a resident of Oswego for over thirty years.
Mr. Doyle was employed with Alcan Rolled Products as a scale clerk for 33 years, retiring in 1999.
He was a veteran of the United States Army. He enjoyed camping and traveling in his RV to West Virginia.
Preceding him in death were two half-brothers, Randall and Garland Wilfong.
Surviving him are his wife of 39 years, the former Polly Howell; two daughters, Kelly Doyle, of Oswego, and Shelly Corbliss, of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania ; a son, David Doyle, of Oswego; a half-sister, Ernestine Brown, of Valley Head; three grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday from the Dowdle Funeral Home. Spring burial will be in New Haven Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
Donovan Shrader, Jr.
Donovan Shrader, Jr., age 59, of Frankfort, Kentucky, died unexpectedly at home Thursday, January 20, 2000.
Born January 26, 1940, in Frank, Mr. Shrader was an office machinery technician. He had recently completed course work at Anderson Techincal College in the field of computer repair and industrial maintenance. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army.
Surviving him are his wife, Sue Shrader; four children, Cynthia Montoya, of Fredericksburg, Virginia, Steven Shrader, of Alliance, Ohio, Pamela June, of Millville, Utah, and David Shrader, of Korea; his mother, Mrs. Alma Applegarth, of Frankfort, formerly of Marlinton; and seven granchildren.
Services were held Saturday, January 22, by Dr. David Hinson in Rogers Funeral Home in Frankfort. His body was to be cremated and private interment services were in the Frankfort Cemetery.

Dorothy Kelley Loudermilk
Dorothy G. Kelley Loudermilk, age 67, of Buckeye, died Monday, February 21, 2000, at her home.
She was born May 7, 1932, in Marlinton, the daughter of the late Howard and Sarah Jane Byrd Kelley.
Mrs. Loudermilk was a retired nurse.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Loudermilk; four brothers, Clayborn C. Kelley, Howard James Kelley, Jr., Paul Kelley, and Richard L. Kelley; two sisters, Emma Jean Hodges and Shirley G. Jones.
Surviving her are a son, Lowell Loudermilk, of Arizona; two sisters, Helen Hinerman, of Pennsylvania , and Mary G. Salisbury, of Monterville; three brothers, Albert F. Kelley and Robert L. Kelley, both of Marlinton, and Charles R. Kelley, of Ohio; a half-brother, George Kelley, of Tennessee; and three grandchildren, including Joshua Hoover, whom she raised and who cared for her.
Services were held Wednesday afternoon by Earl D. Michael at Mountain View Mausoleum, Marlinton.
Randall L. Aliff
Randall Lee Aliff, age 36, of Harrisonburg, Virginia, died Saturday, February 19, 2000, from injuries he received in an automobile accident.
Mr. Aliff was a construction worker.
He was born March 4, 1963, in Marlinton, the son of the late Jack and Patricia Rucker Aliff.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Constance Pharis; a sister, Kelly Boger; and grandparents, Troy and Maxine Aliff.
Surviving him are his wife, Virginia Rushton Aliff; two daughters, Danielle Aliff and Patricia Aliff, both of Harrisonburg; Michael Pharis, of Arizona, and Patrick Aliff, of Harrisonburg; a sister, Debbie Deskins, of Midland, Virginia; a step-son, Scott Warwick; and grandparents, Glenn and Flossie Rucker, of Marlinton.
The Rev. Doug Gochenour conducted a memorial service Monday at the First Assembly of God Church, Harrisonburg. The body was creamted.

Donald Buzzard, age 37, of Droop, died Sunday, February 20, 2000.
He was a barber at Buckeye.
His body was taken to Maryland.
Troy Workman
Troy Workman, age 77, of Hillsboro, died Monday, February 21, 2000, in Roanoke Memorial Hospital, Roanoke, Virginia.
Mr. Workman was retired after working 45 years as a stage technician in television studios in Hollywood, California. He was a member of IATSE Local 33, a Mason, and a veteran. He attended Trinity Baptist Church.
The son of the late Silas and Bessie Doss Workman, he was born at Hillsboro December 29, 1922.
Surviving him are his wife, Mary Marie Allen Workman, of Hillsboro; two daughters, Betty Pritt, of Roanoke, Virginia, and Judy Workman, of Tualatin, Oregon; a son, Jerry Workman, of North Hills, California; ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Thursday at VanReenen Funeral Home by the Rev. Carl Holland. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery at Hillsboro.
Shirley D. Underwood
Shirley D. Underwood, age 43, of Huntersville, died Sunday, February 20, 2000, at the home of her sister in Mineral Wells. She was the wife of Dexter Underwood.
No arrangements have been made at press time but services have been tentatively set for Friday at Cummings Creek Victory Chapel
Vernon C. Dean
Vernon Channing Dean, age 87, of Huntersville, died Tuesday, May 30, 2000, at Plateau Area Medical Center at Oak Hill.
Mr. Dean was retired from the West Virginia Department of Natural Resources, a former Assistant Superintendent at Watoga State Park. He was a Mehodist and a member of the I.O.O.F.
Born near Huntersville, he was the son of the late Alfred G. and Ina C. Smith Dean.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Devada G. Scott Dean; a daughter, Shirley Wilson; and two sons, Robert and Ronnie Dean; two brothers, Leonard Dean and Raymond Dean; and two sisters, Delena Dunn and Elsie Tacy.
Survivors include three sons, Gilbert D. Dean, of West Union, John C. Dean, of Cleveland, Ohio, and Sterl H. Dean, of Elkins; three daughters, Della M. Johnson, of Lookout, Vicki L. Neal, of Fayetteville, and Mary L. Nicora, of Mason, Ohio; four brothers, Alfred Dean, Jr., and Elmer Dean, both of Huntersville, Ezra Dean, of New cumberland, and Hubert Dean, of Huntington, Summers Dean, of Buckeye, and Winters Dean, of Fenwick; three sisters, Grace Combs, of Huntington, and Gay Fields and Alta Holbrook, both of New Cumberland; twelve granchildren and two step-grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday morning in the Beaver Creek Chapel by the Rev. James Murphy, with burial in Beaver Creek Cemetery, Huntersville.
