KEYSER, W.Va. - Homer Clinton Bishop, 71, of Keyser, died Friday, July 9, 1999, at Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born Nov. 4, 1927, in Piedmont, W.Va., he was the son of the late Homer Clarence and Olie Taylor Bishop.
He was retired from B&O Railroad.
He was a veteran the U.S. Army Air Force, having served in World War II.
He was a member of Keyser American Legion, V.F.W., and A.A.R.P.
He is survived by one daughter, Leisa L. Streets of Elk Gardens, W.Va.; one son, David William Bishop of Keyser; seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one son, David Clinton Bishop; two sisters, Pearl Brown and Frances Carr and one brother, Melvin Bishop.
Arrangements are by Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg.
Dorothy S. Bowers
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Dorothy Stewart Murphy Bowers, 78, of Martinsburg, died Saturday, July 10, 1999, at City Hospital, Martinsburg.
Born Oct. 8, 1920, in Martinsburg, she was the daughter of the late Boyd and Minnie Shipman Stewart.
She was the owner of Hedgesville Texaco since 1965.
She was a member of Hedgesville Assembly of God.
She was a member of The Kitchen Band.
She is survived by her husband, John Bowers; one daughter, Sandra L. Miller; three sons, William D. Murphy, Ronald P. Murphy and Roger D. Murphy; two sisters, Mary Stewart and Catherine Crawford; one brother, Arthur Stewart; 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Gilbert Butts, Lester Stewart, Charles Stewart and Paul Isol Stewart; one sister, Margaret L. Mills; one granddaughter, Tonya Murphy; and her first husband, Paul D. Murphy.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Rosedale Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Lewis Whitfield and the Rev. Joseph Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

DUFFIELDS, W.Va. - Marie Charlotte Morris, 78, of Duffields, died Friday, July 9, 1999, at Shenandoah Health Village Center, Charles Town, W.Va.
Born Nov. 26, 1920, in Rippon, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Russell and Bessie Robinson Adams.
She retired in 1986 after 30 years of employment with Dr. Mildred Williams in Charles Town.
She was a member of Mount Zion AME Church, where she was a member of the choir and the treasurer of the missionary.
She is survived by her husband, Preston E. Morris, whom she married in 1940; a daughter, Violet M. Lowery of Charles Town; a sister, Ethel Williams of Charles Town; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Bessie Young and Elizabeth Williams; three brothers, James Adams, John Adams and Jack Adams; and a grandchild.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Mount Zion AME Church in Shenandoah Junction, W.Va. The Rev. Robert Gitney will officiate. Burial will be in Johnsontown Cemetery, Jefferson County, W.Va.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, 310 Fairfax Blvd., Charles Town.

CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - David Matthew Hough, 86, of Charles Town, died Friday, July 9, 1999, at Integrated Health Services of West Virginia, Charles Town.
Born Aug. 6, 1912, in Jefferson County, W.Va., he was the son of the late George M. and Phobe Belinda Howell Hough.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Monroe Sipe Hough, in 1991.
He owned and operated Green Acres Dairy Farm in Clarke County, Va., for 25 years.
He served in the U.S. Army.
He was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Charles Town.
He was a member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge No. 948 in Charles Town.
He is survived by two daughters, Ann H. Hoak of Winchester, Va., and Mary B. Longerbeam of Bakerton, Va.; a son, David Matthew Hough Jr. of Boyce, Va.; a sister, Dorothy Smallwood of Charles Town; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by four sisters, Carrie V. Titus, Daisey B. Ballenger, Pheobe J. Howell and Florine Hough; and 10 brothers, George W. Hough, Charles F. Hough, Earnest L. Hough, James T. Hough, John F. Hough, Lloyd S. Hough, Harry A. Hough, Eugene Hough, Joseph T. R. Hough and Gilbert M. Hough.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m Tuesday at St. James Catholic Church in Charles Town. Father Brian Owens will be celebrant. Burial will be in Edge Hill Cemetery in Charles Town.
The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, 310 Fairfax Blvd., Charles Town. There will be a prayer vigil on Monday at 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Hazel S. Glass
PETERSBURG, W.Va. - Hazel Kathleen Shrader Glass, 97, of Petersburg, died Friday, July 9, 1999, at Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg. She had lived at Grant County Nursing Home since March 27, 1991.
Born April 23, 1902, in Junior, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Rev. Philip W. and Blanche Talbott Shrader.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd C. Glass.
She was a graduate of St. John's Academy; Shenandoah Conservatory of Music; Shepherd College and West Virginia University.
She taught school for 42 years and gave music lessons.
She was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church; and was church organist and choir director for several years.
She was a member of West Virginia Educational Teachers Association; National Teachers Educational Association; and Grant County Association of Retired School Teachers and Employees.
She is survived by a daughter, Debbie McCauley Jr. of Hagerstown; two grandchildren, Michael McCauley of Boonsboro and Kami McCauley Franklin of Hedgesville, W.Va.; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Ina Shrader Burgess; and four brothers, Burger Shrader, Cranston Shrader, Reginald Shrader and Dwight Shrader.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Schaeffer Funeral Home, 11 N. Main St., Petersburg. John Wildman will officiate. Burial will be in Cherry Hill Cemetery in Upper Tract, W.Va.
The family will receive friends Monday one hour before the services at the funeral home.
