Fannie L. Mauck

INWOOD, W.Va. - Fannie Lee "June" Mauck, 76, of Inwood, died Thursday, May 27, 1999, at City Hospital, Martinsburg, W.Va.

Born Dec. 23, 1922, in Berkeley County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Samuel Lee and Fannie Elizabeth Trigg Tobin.

She was a seasonal worker at C.H. Musselman Plant.

She was a member of Northside Church of Christ.

She is survived by a daughter, Susan Ann Breaden of Gerrardstown, W.Va.; three sons, Kenneth Wayne Mauck and Warren Robert Mauck Jr., both of Martinsburg, and Douglas Eugene Mauck of Inwood; a sister, Ida May Mason of Shepherdstown, W.Va.; a brother, Amos P. Tobin Sr. of Berkeley Station, W.Va.; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Rosedale Funeral Home, 2060 Rosedale Road, Martinsburg. C.D. Coley will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery, Martinsburg.

Visitation will be Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Margaret E. Wilson

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Margaret E. Wilson, 86, of Martinsburg, died Thursday, May 27, 1999, at City Hospital, Martinsburg.

Born Jan. 12, 1913, in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of the late Hubert Albert and Margaret May Scott Bridgett.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne K. Wilson.

She was a member of Martinsburg Church of God.

She is survived by her daughter, Evelyn Pauline Hoelscher, with whom she lived.

She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Eugene P. Hoelscher, and a grandson, Eugene Wayne Hoelscher.

Services will be Monday at 2:30 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg. The Rev. Harold O. Snyder will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Alfred E. Tomlinson

MOUNDSVILLE, W.Va. - Alfred E. "Duke" Tomlinson, 84, of Second Street, died Wednesday, May 26, 1999, at Reynolds Memorial Hospital, Glen Dale, W.Va.

Born Sept. 23, 1914, in Moundsville, he was the son of the late William Compton and Carrie Alta Morgan Tomlinson.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Tomlinson.

He was a direct descendant of Joseph Tomlinson, the founder of Moundsville.

He was a retired jeweler, watch maker and master hand engraver.

A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps.

He was a member of Simpson United Methodist Church, Moundsville.

He was a member and past commander of Moundsville VFW No. 437; a member of Earl Francis Post No. 3 American Legion; and Fourth Fighter Group Reunion Committee.

He is survived by a sister, Alma O'Toole of Hagerstown; a special friend, Nancy Gedden of Moundsville; a cousin; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Ellen Amanda Goudy.

Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Grisell Funeral Home, 400 Jefferson Ave., Moundsville. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Moundsville. The Moundsville Honor Guard will conduct graveside services.

The family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Katherine V. Catrow

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Katherine V. "Kitty" Catrow, 59, of Martinsburg, died Thursday, May 27, 1999, at Winchester (Va.) Medical Center.

Born April 26, 1940, in Martinsburg, she was the daughter of the late Frank Leslie Sr. and Katherine Evelyn Rice Spiker.

She was a 1958 graduate of Musselman High School and a graduate of Shepherd College.

She was a retired teacher from Berkeley County Schools, having taught at Valley View Elementary and Bunker Hill.

She was a member of Arden United Methodist Church.

She was a member of William Henshaw Chapter Daughters of American Revolution; Governor Norborne Berkeley Daughters of the American Colonists; Huguenot Society of West Virginia; and the DuBois Family Association Huguenot Historical Society, New Paltz, N.Y.

She is survived by her husband, Dennis L. Catrow; a sister, Anne Spiker Shickle of Winchester; a brother, Frank Leslie Spiker Jr. of Bunker Hill, W.Va.; nieces and nephews.

Services will be Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg. The Rev. Walter F. Bowers will officiate. Burial will be in Gerrardstown Presbyterian Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to Arden United Methodist Church, Route 1, Box 217AA, Martinsburg, WV 25401.

James W. Fearnow

FALLING WATERS, W.Va. - James William Fearnow, 87, of Falling Waters, died Thursday, May 27, 1999, at Winchester (Va.) Medical Center.

Born Oct. 7, 1911, in Williamsport, he was the son of the late William Otterbein and Nora Belle Miller Fearnow.

He was a 1930 graduate of Williamsport High School.

He was employed as a switchboard operator for Potomac Edison Co., retiring in 1976. He was caretaker of Harmony Cemetery, Falling Waters.

He was a member of St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church, Williamsport.

He was a member of AARP; Marlowe Ruritan; Forerunners Club; and Potomac Edison Retirees.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Dolores M. Landis Fearnow; two sons, John David Fearnow of Newport, N.C., and Philip W. Fearnow of Martinsburg; two brothers, Orville Fearnow of Clearbrook, Va., and Frank J. Fearnow of Hagerstown; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Bernadine Venezia; and five brothers, Curtis Fearnow, Lloyd Fearnow, Norman Fearnow, Melvin Fearnow and Guy Fearnow.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 9 a.m. at St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church, 32 E. Potomac St., Williamsport. The Rev. Alfred E. Smith will be celebrant. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport. The funeral home will be open after noon. There will be a prayer service at 6:45 p.m.

Virginia G. Ruble

CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Virginia G. "Ginny" Ruble, 77, of Charles Town, died Thursday, May 27, 1999, at Winchester (Va.) Medical Center.

Born Nov. 12, 1921, in Jefferson County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Harry A. and Lillie King Brill.

She was a 1941 graduate of Harpers Ferry (W.Va.) High School.

She was formerly employed by the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department in the tax office. She previously worked in the office of U.S. Steel Co., in Keystone, W.Va.; and at Storer College in Harpers Ferry.

She was a member of Halltown Presbyterian Church in Halltown, W.Va.

She was a member and chaplain of the Citizens Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary in Charles Town; a member of Women of the Moose Chapter 1028; Ladies Auxiliary of Brunswick Eagles Aerie 1136 in Brunswick, Md.; Harpers Ferry Alumni Association, and helped coordinate bus trips with Shrock Bus Co. in Winchester.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Charles S. Ruble; a son, Charles Stephen Ruble of Charles Town; a sister, Bea Miller of Charles Town; a brother, William Brill of Ranson, W.Va.; and a granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by a half sister, Mabel King; and a brother, Joseph W. Brill.

Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, 310 Fairfax Blvd., Charles Town. The Revs. Robin Reese and Lester W. Dillow will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens, Martinsburg, W.Va.

Friends will be received today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to Citizens Fire Co., P.O. Box 927, Charles Town, WV 25414.
