INWOOD, W.Va. - Charles Baker Weller, 89, of Inwood, died Saturday, Oct. 31, 1998, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital, Ranson, W.Va.
Born Aug. 10, 1909, in Blairton, W.Va., he was the son of the late Walter C. and Clara Cole Weller.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna L. Fellers Weller.
He was a 1927 graduate of Martinsburg High School, Martinsburg, W.Va.
He was a retired driver for Schmidt Bakery.
He was a member of First Baptist Church.
He is survived by one daughter, Dorothy E. Everhart of Inwood, with whom he resided; one son, Charles William Weller of San Jose, Calif; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by four sisters, Nellie Weller, Bessie Strine, Catherine Weller and Margaret Albright; and four brothers, Harry Craig, Walter Craig, Harvey Weller and Richard Weller.
Services will be Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg. The Rev. Christopher D. Fowler will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m.

Elmer R. Shade
INWOOD, W.Va. - Elmer R. "Pappy" Shade, 89, of Route 2, died Monday, Nov. 2, 1998, at City Hospital, Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born Aug. 26, 1909, in Berkeley County, W.Va., he was the son of the late Martin and Bertie Masters Shade.
He was a farmer. He and his wife were the former owners of Opportunity Shop in Inwood.
He was a member of Cedar Grove Christian Church, where he was a former elder and trustee.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Hoover Shade; one daughter, Charlotte A. Baker of Inwood; one brother, Lester Shade of Kearneysville, W.Va.; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Anna Mary Potts, Lena LeDane and Eva Brown; and two brothers, Curtis Shade and William Shade.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Cedar Grove Christian Church, Inwood. The Rev. Leroy K. Hurley Jr. and the Rev. Harry R. Yoder will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg, today from 7 to 9 p.m. The casket will be taken to the church one hour prior to the service Wednesday.
Mary C. Weller
HALLTOWN, W.Va. - Mary Catherine Weller, 81, of Halltown, died Monday, Nov. 2, 1998, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital, Ranson, W.Va.
Born March 15, 1917, in Harewood Farm, Jefferson County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Thomas William and Abby Watson Marlow.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick Cyrus Weller, in 1969.
She was a graduate of Harpers Ferry (W.Va.) High School and Shepherd College in Shepherdstown, W.Va.
She owned and operated Bonnie-Brea Farm in Halltown for many years.
She was a member of Zion Episcopal Church, Charles Town, W.Va.
She is survived by one son, Thomas William Weller, at home.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Watson Marlow.
Graveside services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Edge Hill cemetery, Charles Town. The Rev. John Alfriend will officiate.
There will be no visitation.

FALLING WATERS, W.Va. - John A. "Jack" Snay Sr., 68, of Falling Waters, died Sunday, Nov. 1, 1998, at his home.
Born Jan. 28, 1930, in Marine City, Mich., he was the son of the late William Wells and Mildred A. Delorge Snay.
He was self-employed as a boat builder, retiring in 1990.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving in the U.S. and Europe from 1946 to 1960.
He was a member of Shepherd's Chapel (Arkansas.)
He was a member of AARP and Sunday Nite Mixers Bowling League.
He is survived by his wife, Helen M. Gossard Snay; two daughters, Martha J. Crouse of Appling, Ga., and Kathy M. Kreps of Waynesboro, Pa.; one son, Donald L. Kelley of Mesa, Ariz.; two sisters, Alice Thompson and Linda Duvall, both of Marine City; one brother, Gene Snay of Marine City; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, John A. Snay Jr.; one grandson; and one brother, Keith J. Snay.
Graveside services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, 17636 W. Washington St., Hagerstown. The Rev. Brian Leiter will officiate. Military graveside services will be provided by Morris Frock Post 42 American Legion, Hagerstown.
There will be no viewing.

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Floyd Edward Sears, 59, of Martinsburg, died Thursday, Oct. 29, 1998, at his home.
Born Sept. 25, 1939, in St. Petersburg, Fla., he was the son of the late Harold and Adele Collins Sears.
He was a landscaper.
He was a member of Damascus Church of God.
He was a member of National Fisherman's Club and NRA.
He is survived by his wife, Bernice Smith Sears; seven daughters, Dominique Adele Sears, Kimberly Sears and Whitney N. Dixon-Sears, all of Martinsburg, Trakeya L. Hammond-Sears of Frederick, Md., Marie Temple of Gaithersburg, Md., Diane Freeman and Tesse Ann Sears, both of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; four sons, Floyd Sears II of Port St. Lucie, Floyd Sears III and Evan Sears, both of Martinsburg, and Edward Renauld Sears of Alabama; 10 sisters; 10 brothers; 16 grandchildren; nieces, nephews and great-nieces.
Services will be Friday at 11:30 a.m. at Emory Grove United Methodist Church, Gaithersburg. The Rev. Cheryl Gooden will officiate.

HARPERS FERRY, W.Va. - Anna Lee Ayres Harden, 72, of Route 4, died Monday, Nov. 2, 1998, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Ranson, W.Va.
Born Nov. 12, 1925, in Brunswick, Md., she was the daughter of the late Charles W. Sr. and Estella Deaner Staubs.
She was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Gapland, Md.
She was a charter member of Blue Ridge Fire Department Auxiliary in Harpers Ferry.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Charles W. Harden; three sisters, Frances Jane Axline of Brunswick, Lois Hostler of Harpers Ferry, and Betty Brackett of Shenandoah Junction, W.Va.; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Charles W. Staubs Jr.
Services will be today at 11 a.m. at Eackles-Spencer Funeral Home, 970 Washington St., Harpers Ferry. The Rev. Wendell McClellan will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Lutheran cemetery in Bolivar, W.Va.
