Funeral for Auburn "Fish Hook" Terry, who died Monday, June 9, 1997, at his residence, was held Wednesday, June 11, at Harmony Methodist Church. The 11 a.m. service was officiated by Rev. Nelson.

Burial was in the church cemetery with Lawrence Funeral Home directing.

Mr Terry was born in Courtland to Percy and Pearl Terry.

He is survived by five sons, Fred Terry of Trinity, Windell Terry of Hillsboro, Allen Terry, Robert Terry and Dennis Terry, all of Lawton, Mich.; four daughters, Elaine Mann of Cincinnati, Ohio, Gail Harris of Lawton, Mich, Brenda Conwell of Anderson, S.C. and Pearlie Read of Lawrence, Mich.; a brother, Percy Terry of Trinity; four sisters, Minerva Brown of Moulton, Hazel Jordan of Decatur, Mich., Jean Terry of Lawton, Mich. and Faye Nichols of Town Creek; 21 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were O'Neal Terry, Pelmer Morris, Roy Grinfin, Wayne Brannon, Robert Smith, Milton Letson and Leldon Martin.

Charles Raymond Sell

78, Danville

Funeral for Charles Raymond Sell was held Sunday, June 8, 2 p.m., at Nichols Funeral Home chapel.

Burial was in the Piney Grove Methodist Cemetery.

Mr. Sell died Thursday, June 5, 1997, at Lawrence Baptist Medical Center in Moulton.

Survivors include his wife, Bernice Sell; a son, David Charles Sell of Virginia Beach, Va.; a daughter, Bonnie Ray of Addison; two brothers, William Sell of LaBelle, Fla., and Jimmy Sell of Mudge, La.; one sister, Martha Nelson of Mudge, La.; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

John Wilbur Jackson

84, retired brick mason, Five Points

Funeral for John Wilbur Jackson was held Tuesday, June 10, 2 p.m., at Enon Baptist Church with the Revs. Johnny Huey, Gary Arnold and C. G. Reding officiating.

Burial was in the Enon Cemetery with Parkway Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Jackson died Saturday, June 7, 1997, at home after a lengthy illness.

He was born in Lawrence County to Henry and Annie McCarty Jackson.

He was former chairman of the West Morgan-East Lawrence Water Dept. Mr. Jackson served on the water department board for many years. He was a member of Enon Baptist Church for 60 years and a deacon for 53 years. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge.

Survivors include his wife, Madeline Sullivan Jackson; one daughter, Wanda Jean Jackson Wiley of Five Points; one brother, Ernest Jackson of Decatur; three sisters, Hilda Tucker of Decatur and Audrey Jackson and Melba Chenault, both of Danville; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Donald Talley, Hoyt McCaghren, Loyal Livington, Tim Curtis, Don Johnson, Joe Jackson, Kenny Rutherford and Vernon Lawrence.

Raymond Ewell Parker

59, Moulton

Raymond Ewell Parker died Thursday, June 5, 1997, at Huntsville Hospital.

The funeral was held Saturday, June 7, at Elam Baptist Church in Lawrence County with the Revs. Charles Williams and Edward Hood officiating.

Burial was in the Cheatham Cemetery with Elliott Funeral Home directing.

He was born in Lawrence County.

Survivors include his mother, Bertie Parker of Moulton; four brothers, Delmer Sherrill Parker, Kenneth David Parker and William Travis Parker, all of Moulton and Donald Wayne Parker of Decatur; three sisters, Annie Jewel Daniel and Mattie Susan Dutton, both of Moulton and Willie Merle Elrod of Danville.

Pallbearers were J. R. Jeffers, Eddie Lackey, Shane Letson, Jimmy Hill, Dan Bates and Matthias Letson.

Rachel Thrasher McCay

68, hairdresser, Hillsboro

Funeral for Rachel Thrasher McCay of Hillsboro was held Sunday, June 8, 2 p.m., at Shelton Funeral Home with the Rev. Nicky Pressnell officiating.

Burial was in the Roselawn Cemetery.

Mrs. McCay died Thursday, June 5, 1997, at University Hospital in Birmingham.

She was born in Lawrence County and was a member of the Austinville Church of Christ. Mrs. McCay was a hairdresser in Decatur for 30 years.

Survivors include her husband, Wallace McCay; one son, Joel McCay of Decatur; two daughters, Donna Pearce of Speake and Cathy Breeding of Hillsboro; one brother, Gilbert Thrasher of Decatur; two sisters, Elizabeth Davidson of Alabaster and Ruby Stage of Madison; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be sent to the Leukemia Society.

James B. Holderfield

69, railroad retiree, Moulton

Funeral for James B. Holderfield was held Saturday, June 7, 2 p.m., at Rideout's Brown-Service Funeral Home with the Rev. E. T. Waddell officiating.

Burial was in the Roselawn Cemetery.

Mr. Holderfield died Wednesday, June 4, 1997, at Huntsville Hospital.

He was born in Morgan County. Mr. Holderfield retired from Southern Railroad after 42 years of service. He was a member of Rising Sun Masonic Lodge No. 29, York Rite Masonic Bodies of Decatur, Shrine Temple, Decatur-Lawrence County Shrine Club and Eagles Club of Huntsville.

Survivors include his wife, Marie Holderfield; two daughters, Jean Roberts of Franklin, Tenn. and Martha Jane Stone of Brandon, Fla.; one brother, Frank Holderfield of Moulton; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Masons were the pallbearers.

Opal Lee Johnson

72, Russellville

Opal Lee Johnson died Monday, June 9, 1997, at Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital.

The funeral was held Wednesday, June 11, 3 p.m., at Lawrence Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Miller Tittle officiating.

Burial was in the Providence Cemetery.

She was born in Woodbine, Ky.

Survivors include two daughters, Connie Black of Russellville and Brenda Stewart of Moulton; two sisters, Bernice Sheppard and Carrie Mils, Ill.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Annie Belle Runager

93, homemaker, Trinity

Funeral for Annie Belle Runager, who died Friday, June 13, 1997, at Parkway Medical Center Hospital, was held Sunday, June 15. The 2 p.m. service was held at Rideout's Brown-Service Funeral Home with Greg Standridge officiating.

Burial was in the Caddo Cemetery.

Mrs. Runager was born in Arkansas. She was a member of Caddo United Methodist Church and the Midway Homemaker's Club. Mrs. Runager was the widow of Joe Runager.

Survivors include two sons, Hollis Runagerof Decatur and Bill Runager of Trinity; two daughters, Opal Looney and Lorene Sims, both of Trinity; one brother, Lowell Standridge of Decatur; one sister, Pearl Kyle of Decatur; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 20 great-great-grandchildren.

Grandsons were the pallbearers.

Tonya Lynn Langham

29, Wayne Farms employee, Town Creek

Tonya Lynn Langham died Thursday, June 12, 1997, at Medical Center Shoals in Muscle Shoals.

The Funeral was held Monday, June 16, 1 p.m., at Thompson and Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Joseph Marshall officiating.

Burial was in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery at Leighton.

She was born in Moulton.

Survivors include three sons, Jordan Langham, Justin Langham and Jacombie Langham, all of Town Creek; her father, Robert Watkins of Florence; her mother, Annie Marie Langham of Town Creek; one brother, Joseph Langham of Town Creek; and two sisters, Laressa Jackson of Huntsville and Brandy Langham of Town Creek.

Cousins were the pallbearers.

William O. Swims

57, retired sawmiller, Moulton

Funeral services for William O. Swims were held Monday, June 16, 2 p.m., at Lawrence Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Dotson officiating.

Burial was in the Cave Springs Cemetery.

Mr. Swims died Saturday, June 14, 1997, at home.

He was born in Lawrence County to Charlie Newton Swims and Maudie Lee Harris Swims.

Survivors include his wife, Freda Swims; one son, Junior Swims of Moulton; five daughters, Lora Garrison of Haleyville, Mary Tyler of Moulton, Pam Nolen of Danville, Wanda Mears of Hatton and Patricia Jones of Double Springs; one brother, Wendal Swims of Moulton; three sisters, Ruby Martin and Wanda Swims, both of Double Springs and Truby Horton of Moulton; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Randy Mears, Willard Nolen, Larry Garrision, Dwight Tyler, Keith Jones and Bobby Scott.
