McGhee

POCAHONTAS -- Duane Earl McGhee, 56, of Pocahontas died Thursday, Dec. 30, at his residence.

Born in Myrtle, Mo., he was a member and deacon at Church of God in Pocahontas.

Survivors include his wife, Rita Joan McGhee of Pocahontas; two daughters, Stephanie Lynn Difani and Kristina Dawn Rush, both of Beebe; his parents, Rathe Lee and Rachel L. Cypret McGhee of Couch, Mo.; a brother, Gary McGhee of Couch.; two sisters, Janet Roberts and Gale Weber, both of Couch; and four grandchildren, Brett Difani, Blake Difani, Brennen Rush and Braidon Rush, all of Beebe.

He was preceded in death by a brother.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Church of God in Pocahontas, with Dewayne Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Cotton Creek Cemetery under the direction of McNabb Funeral Home of Pocahontas.

Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Miller

LEACHVILLE -- Bond Lee Miller, 72, of Leachville died Tuesday, Dec. 28, at Monette Manor Nursing Center.

Born in the Bucoda community near Senath,Mo., he was a lifelong resident of the Leachville area. He was a retired farmer and attended First Assembly of God.

Survivors include his wife, Lillian Finch Miller of Leachville; a son, B.R. Miller of Leachville; one daughter, Doris Carmichael of Leachville; his father, Claude Miller of Monette; two brothers, Jackie Miller of Leachville and Eugene Miller of Coloma, Mich.; one sister, Tinnie McConnell of Keeler, Mich.; five grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Potter Miller, two brothers and a grandson.

Funeralservices were at 2 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Howard Funeral Home at Leachville, with the Rev. Donny Morrison officiating. The burial followed in Leachville Cemetery.

Ollison

BLYTHEVILLE -- Carol Ollison, 53, of Blytheville died Wednesday, Dec. 29, at Great River Medical Center in Blytheville.

She was a lifelong resident of Blytheville and of the Pentecostal faith.

Survivors include her husband, Charles Ollison of Blytheville; her mother, Madge Pruitt of Monette; four daughters, Mary Jane Copeland of Senath, Mo., Shannon Guigar of Caseville, Mich., Heather Ollison of Debary, Fla., and Melissa Back of Deltona, Fla.; one son, Wayne Ollison of Austin, Texas; two sisters, Melissa Cockran of Dayton, Nev., and Joyce Moon of Kennett, Mo.; two half brothers, Brian Pruitt and Barry Pruitt, both of Monette; and seven grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Clyde Quarles.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Elmwood Cemetery in Blytheville with the Rev. Rick Brothers officiating.

Visitation will be 9-10:30 a.m. Monday at Cobb Funeral Home of Blytheville.

Salings

WAPPAPELLO, Mo. -- Hazel Salings, 86, of Wappapello died Wednesday, Dec. 29, at Oakdale Nursing Center in Poplar Bluff, Mo.

She was born in raised in Arkansas, later moving to Missouri.

Survivors include three sons, Jewel Salings Jr. of St. Louis, Larry Salings of Park Hills, Mo. and Donal Salings of Wappapello; four brothers, Lestel Elder, Ross Elder, Bobby Elder and Lonnie Elder, all of Brookland; a sister, Betty Johnson of Brookland; six grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jewel Salings Sr.; a daughter, Judy Salings; and her parents, Ross and Ethel Mae Lemons Elder.

Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Pine Log Cemetery, with Larry Steven Salings officiating. Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 919 North Michigan Ave., Suite 1000, Chicago 60611.

Shatley

CARDWELL, Mo. -- Russell Andrew Shatley, 97, of Cardwell died Wednesday, Dec. 29, at St. Bernard's Medical Center.

Born in Paragould, he was a retired custodian and bus driver for the Greene County Tech School District. He was a member of Calvary Full Gospel Church of Cardwell.

Survivors include three sons, Leon Shatley of Sterling Heights, Mich., Hughlen D. Shatley of Paragould and Curtis D. Shatley of Jonesboro; three daughters, Ewald B. Frontz of Old Hickory, Tenn., Sharon Burroughs of Hermitage, Tenn., and Carla D. Swindle of Paragould; a sister, Glenevee Jones of Fennville, Mich.; 19 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Alline Shatley; his parents, Andrew J. and Melinda Rose Shatley; infant triplets; three brothers and five sisters.

Funeral will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Mitchell Funeral Home in Paragould with Leland Jim Dement officiating. Burial will be in Greene County Memorial Gardens.

Grandsons will serve as active pallbearers, and granddaughters will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Calvary Full Gospel Church in Cardwell.

Springle

John B. Springle, 82, of Jonesboro died Wednesday, Dec. 29, at St. Bernard's Medical Center.

Born in the former Nettleton community, he spent most of his life at Jonesboro. He was retired from Springle Wholesale Automotive Supply and was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran. He was a member of South Caraway Chapel Church.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Springle; three daughters, Charlotte Dickson and Pam Whittingham, both of Jonesboro, and Cathy Tankersley of Roanoke, Va.; seven grandchildren, Scott Dickson, Kristi Viala, Kayla Whittingham and Kevin Whittingham, all of Jonesboro, Brad Dickson of Black Rock, Michelle Haines of Fairfax, Va., and Tiffany Bowles of Roanoke; and four great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Springle, and a sister.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Gregg Funeral Home, with the Rev. Don Martin and the Rev. Troy Prince officiating. Burial will be in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Scott Dickson, Brad Dickson, John Springle, Chris Viala, Kevin Whittingham, Marvin Haines and Jamie Bowles.

Honorary pallbearers will include members of the Adult 4 Sunday School Class at South Caraway Chapel Church.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to South Caraway Chapel, 3707 South Caraway Road, Jonesboro 72404; or Philadelphia Baptist Church, 620 West Philadelphia Road, Jonesboro 72401.

Studdard

Doris Jane Studdard, 90, of Jonesboro died Wednesday, Dec. 29, at Lakeside Nursing Center in Lake City.

Born at Mountain Home, she was a 1932 graduate of Mountain Home High School. She was a longtime employee of The Baxter Bulletin and Western Auto Store in Mountain Home. She was a member of Cornerstone United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Church Women's Organization in Mountain Home and Jonesboro. She was a Sunday school teacher for several years.

She is survived by a daughter, Mary Lou McDaniel of Jonesboro.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester C. Studdard; her parents, Ross and Mattie Inman Hickman; and a brother.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Cornerstone United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Tommy Toombs officiating. Burial will be private in Mountain Home Cemetery, with the Rev. Pat Bodenhamer officiating. Roller Funeral Home of Mountain Home is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be 2-3:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Webb

TRUMANN -- John Albert Webb, 80, of Trumann died Wednesday, Dec. 29, at Crestwood Hospital in Huntsville, Ala.

Born at Athens, Ala., he lived in the Trumann area for 53 years. He was of the Assembly of God faith.

Survivors include his wife, Myrtle Webb of the home; four sons, James O. Webb of Trumann, Randall W. Webb of Marmaduke and Dwight Kemper and Michael Kemper, both of Boydsville; four daughters, Evelyn McDougal of New Market, Ala., Barbara Harrison of Huntsville, Brenda Sergant of Indianapolis and Shirley Kemper of Boydsville; two brothers, Robert T. Webb of Section, Ala., and Clarence Webb of Dutton, Ala.; five sisters, Lou Holder of New Market, Martha Robbins of Decatur, Ala., Inez Jackson of Section, Estelle Edmonds of Hollywood, Ala., and Ethel Pelam of Stevenson, Ala.; and 18 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two wives, Virginia Doris McMasters, known as Peggy Jane Webb, and Mary L. Collins; a son, Raymond Douglas Webb; his parents, James A. and Marie Tankersley Webb; a sister and a brother.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Gregg Funeral Home, with the Rev. Billy Ray Moore officiating. Burial will be in Pine Log Cemetery near Brookland.

Active pallbearers will be David Kemper, Matthew Kemper, Stephen Kemper, Jeffery Kemper, James B. Webb and Danny L. Webb.

Honorary pallbearers will include Guy Smith, Rory McDaniel, Lee Reeves, Aaron Reeves and Gordon Williams.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
