Hattie Mae Kemp

LITTLE ROCK -- Hattie Mae Kemp, 92, of Little Rock died Friday, July 1.

She grew up in Jonesboro, was a retired schoolteacher and a member of Highland Valley United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Barrett Kemp of Little Rock and Bill Kemp of Waskom, Texas; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Kemp.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery, with Dr. Kurt Boggan officiating. Roller-Chenal Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Highland Valley United Methodist Church, 15524 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock 72211.

Ruth Emma Lowery

TRUMANN -- Ruth Emma May Lowery, 85, of Trumann died Friday, July 1, at her residence.

Born in the Frog Pond community near Nettleton, she lived most of her life in the Trumann and Jonesboro areas. A homemaker, she was a member of Central Missionary Baptist Church at Trumann.

Survivors include three daughters, Delois Case, Marie Penter and Helen "Cricket" Ballard, all of Trumann; one son, Jerry Wayne Lowery of Trumann; one sister, Agnes May White of Trumann; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; and one stepgreat-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, H.A. "Bill" Lowery; her parents, John M. and Bertha Campbell May; four sisters; and two brothers.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Thompson Funeral Home, with the Revs. Gary Gipson and Bill Maxwell officiating. Burial will be in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Loveria Riesenhuber

BLYTHEVILLE -- Loveria Riesenhuber, 71, of Blytheville died Thursday, June 30, at her residence.

Born in Fairmont, W.Va., she was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Louis Frank Riesenhuber of the home; a daughter, Dixie Northington of West Point, Miss.; a son, Barry Wolfe of Oklahoma; two stepdaughters, Kerry Riesenhuber and Lori Jenck, both of Sacramento, Calif.; a sister, Connie Gregg of Anmoore, W.Va.; and two brothers, Walter Hashman of Blytheville and Donnie Hashman of Anmoore.

She was preceded in death by one stepson, Scott Riesenhuber; one stepdaughter, Michelle Riesenhuber; and her parents.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Cobb Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.

Leonard Risner

JONESBORO -- Leonard Risner, 94, of Jonesboro died Friday, July 1, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital at Walnut Ridge.

He was the owner of Leonard Risner's Upholstering Shop at Jonesboro.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Langford-Bookout Funeral Home.

Delpha Marie Schmidt

JONESBORO -- Delpha Marie Schmidt, 91, of Jonesboro died Thursday, June 30, at Craighead Nursing Center.

Born in Floral, she was a homemaker and a member of Floral Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Doris Bradsher of Jonesboro; a brother, R.L. Jefford of Floral; a sister, Bonnie Frazier of Floral; three grandchildren, Michael Sharp of Batesville, Danny Sharp of Jonesboro and Sherry Atkinson of Greenbrier; four great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Jacob Schmidt, her parents and one sister.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Floral Baptist Church, with Verlon Wood officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery at Floral under the direction of Qualls Batesville Funeral Service.

Pallbearers will be Denny Brown, Darryl Brown, Ronnie Jefford, Roger Jefford, Eddie Frazier, Rusty Swaim and Shane Swaim.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Frances Elizabeth Balcom

JONESBORO -- Frances Elizabeth Balcom, 82, of Jonesboro, formerly of Harrisburg, died Thursday, July 21, at St. Bernard's Medical Center.

A Harrisburg native, she owned and operated the Texaco Service Station at Harrisburg for several years. She and her husband had also owned a grocery store there. She was a member of Harrisburg First Baptist Church and had been attending Strawfloor Baptist Church at Jonesboro.

Survivors include two sons, Jim Balcom of Garden Grove, Calif., and Ron Balcom of Naples, Fla.; a daughter, Jeanne Travis of Jonesboro; a sister, Anna Laura Doty of Columbus, Miss.; three grandchildren, Jamie Carter, Michael Balcom and Tandy Balcom; and a great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Balcom; her parents, Alonzo and Grace McCulley Turner; a brother; and a sister.

Graveside services will be at 6:30 p.m. today in Farm Hill Cemetery near Harrisburg, with the Rev. Harold Russell officiating. Weston Funeral Service of Harrisburg is in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be John Travis, James Carter, Mark Travis, Brandon Travis, Jason Clark and Lyman Carroll.

Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Joetta Bandy

JONESBORO -- Joetta Bandy, 51, of Jonesboro died Thursday, July 21, at her residence.

A lifelong resident of Jonesboro, she was a member of Magnolia Road Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Steve Bandy of Jonesboro; three sons, Jessy Bandy, Jordan Bandy and Greg Bean, all of Jonesboro; a daughter, Alice Bandy of Jonesboro; five brothers, Buster Beuley, John Beuley and Sonny Beuley, all of Jonesboro, Tommy Beuley of Sikeston, Mo., and Sherman Beuley of South Bend, Ind.; two sisters, Evelyn Baker of Jonesboro and Janice Carter of Fort Smith; and two grandchildren, Dylan Bean and Cameron Bean, both of Jonesboro.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Grace Cox Beuley; and two brothers.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Emerson Funeral Home's Memorial Chapel. Burial will be private.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to St. Bernard's Hospice, 2813 Forest Home, Jonesboro 72401.

Vivian Lucille Branum

TRUMANN -- Vivian Lucille Branum, 90, of Trumann died Wednesday, July 20, at Rose Care Nursing Center in Trumann.

Born at Poplar Bluff, Mo., she was a homemaker and of the Baptist belief.

Survivors include two daughters, Georgie Dale of Payneway and Lee Hammock of Counts, Tenn.; three sons, Billy Branum of Iuka, Miss., Bob Branum of Marked Tree and Ron Branum of Black Rock; two sisters, Evelyn Tibbs of Poplar Bluff and Dorothy Lawson of Winona, Ill.; 23 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Branum.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Wilson Funeral Home of Tyronza, with Gary Andrews officiating. Burial will be in Marked Tree Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Johnnie Creed

BLACK ROCK -- Johnnie Creed, 72, of Black Rock died Friday, July 22, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Walnut Ridge.

Born at Harrisburg, he moved to Black Rock from Pampa, Texas, a year ago. He was a retired truck driver and of the Baptist belief.

Survivors include a son, Dave Creed of Black Rock; a daughter, Jeanette Balcer of Duran, Mich.; a sister, June Earnest of Fresno, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Creed; his parents, Ed and Ester Omera Creed; a brother; and a sister.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Oak Forest Cemetery, under the direction of House-Gregg Funeral Home of Walnut Ridge.

No visitation is scheduled.
