Jimmy Caraccia
Jimmy Caraccia, 38, of Fort Smith passed away Saturday, Feb. 19, 2005. He was the owner of C & M Race Craft. He was preceded in death by his brother, Peter Caraccia.
Rosary service will be 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 24, 2005, at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 25, 2005, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with burial at Holy Cross cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
He is survived by his son, Seth Caraccia of Fort Smith; his parents, Francis and Dolores Caraccia of Fort Smith; one sister, Sharon and her husband Kevin Treece of Fort Smith; one brother, John Caraccia of Fort Smith; nieces and nephews, Kyle and Keeley Treece.
Pallbearers will be Mike Korkames, Billy Huie, David Holmes, Shane Reed, Bobby Reed, Dagan Baker, Nick Woolbright and Eddie Leonard.
Family will visit with friends following the rosary service Thursday evening at Edwards Funeral Home.
Roman Borengasser
NORTH LITTLE ROCK — Roman H. Borengasser, 87, of North Little Rock died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2005, in his home. He was born Aug. 8, 1917, in Altus. He graduated from Ozark High School in 1935 and worked for W. Clement Stone in Chicago, the Army Corps of Engineers and Fell Vaughn Construction Co. He served in the Navy at Farragut, Idaho, during World War II. He worked as a state auditor, then for E.L. Gaunt & Co. before opening his own CPA firm. He was a member of St. Patrick’s Church and Knights of Columbus.
Rosary will be 6:30 p.m. today at North Little Rock Funeral Home. Mass will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred; four daughters, Mary Caruso of Potomac, Md., Elizabeth Caldwell of North Little Rock, Debora Richardson of Sheridan, and Julie Zuefeldt of Fort Worth, Texas; two sons, William Borengasser of Little Rock and John Borengasser of Louisville, Ky.; a brother, Edward Borengasser of New Blaine; and 16 grandchildren.
The family will visit with friends from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home in North Little Rock.
John Morris
SPRINGDALE — John F. Morris, 70, of Springdale, formerly of Fort Smith, died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2005, in his home. He was born Feb. 16, 1935, in Muskogee, Okla. He served in the Marine Corps, was an engineer with the Army Corps of Engineers, owned and operated Morris Auto Supply in Springdale for 17 years, and worked for McGaugh RV.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Sisco Funeral Chapel in Springdale. The body will be cremated. A graveside memorial service will be 1 p.m. Friday at U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Donna; a daughter, Kathie Morris of Springdale; a son, Curtis Morris of Springdale; and two grandchildren.
Visitation is from noon to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 5 to 7 p.m.
Wilma Berry
CHARLESTON — Wilma Faye Berry, 87, of Charleston died Monday, Feb. 21, 2005, in Bloomer. She was born Sept. 7, 1917, in Central City. She was a homemaker and a member of Lavaca First Baptist Church.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday at Lavaca First Baptist Church with burial at Morris cemetery in Bloomer under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home of Paris.
She is survived by two daughters, Geneva Owen and Linda Irvin, both of Charleston; three sons, Billy Berry of Fort Smith, Sidney and Buster Berry, both of Charleston; two sisters, Belle Birchfield of Holland, Mich., and Lois Dobson of Anchorage, Alaska; three brothers, Alford Whittenburg of Porterville, Calif., June Whittenburg of Charleston, and Ed Whittenburg of Hackett; 18 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Charles Whittenburg, Donald, Frank and Robert Cook, Nelson Burchfield and James Berry. Honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren.
The body may be viewed 1 to 9 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church in Lavaca, where the family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

Ruby Kiser
CENTRAL CITY — Ruby C. Kiser, 77, of Central City died Monday, Feb. 21, 2005, in a local hospital. She was born Feb. 13, 1938, in Pontotoc, Texas. She was a federal loan officer for 23 years for City National Bank, was of the Freewill Baptist faith, and was the widow of J.R. Kiser.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Pope cemetery Pavilion with burial at Pope cemetery in Graphic under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith.
She is survived by a daughter, Vivian Reather of Lavaca; a son, Charles Kiser of Central City; a sister, Marilyn Braddock of San Angelo, Texas; three brothers, Boog Holloway of Mason, Texas, Carroll Holloway of Fredericksburg, Texas, and Curtis Holloway of Minnola, Texas; five grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
The body may be viewed beginning 4 p.m. today at the funeral home.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
David Bibbs
MOORE — David Allen Bibbs, 49, of Moore, Okla., died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2005, in his home. He was a retired master sergeant of the Air Force, a former employee of ARINC in Oklahoma City and a former golf pro.
Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Tinker Air Force Base. Funeral will be 1 p.m. Friday at Putman Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith with burial and full military honors at U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Amy; three daughters, Amanda McCullough of Choctaw, Okla., Sarah Bibbs of Oklahoma City, and Erika Patterson of Moore, Okla.; his mother, DeAnna Bibbs of Fort Smith; and three brothers, Richard Bibbs of Bakersfield, Calif., Kevin and Keith Bibbs, both of Van Buren.
Pallbearers will be Gary Kirk, Landy Stankewitz, Eric Nauni, Jason McCullough, Danny and Aaron Heller.

Virginia Brassfield
Virginia Simpson Brassfield, 89, of Fort Smith died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2005, in a local nursing home. She was a member of Coop Prairie Church and the widow of Lester Simpson and John Brassfield.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Coop Prairie Church with burial at Coop Prairie cemetery in Mansfield under the direction of Martin Funeral Home of Mansfield.
She is survived by two sons, Martin Simpson of Atlanta and Jerry Simpson of Corvella, Mont.; a sister, Ina Hudson of Houston; a brother, Mel Harp of Lubbock, Texas; four grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jeffery and Marty Simpson, Jimmy Arnold, Donald Williams, Danny and Glen Hurt.

Arthur Miller
CECIL — Arthur Miller, 85, of Cecil died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2005, in his home. He was an Army veteran of World War II, a retired employee of DeSoto Furniture Factory, and was of the Assembly of God faith.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday at Ocker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Dougan cemetery in Mulberry.
He is survived by his wife, Thelma; two daughters, Cora Nichols of Cecil and Joyce Hyde of Lowell; a son, Carl Miller of Cedarville; two brothers, Henry Miller of Alma and Paul Miller of Van Buren; seven grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Barry Miller, Bryan, Jessy and Michael Nichols, Garry and Jacky Franklin.
Laura Bolin Caraccia
Laura Bolin Caraccia, 30, of Fort Smith passed away Saturday, Feb. 19, 2005, in Fort Smith. She was an accountant for Beall Barclay. She was a board member of the Community Rescue Mission, a 1992 graduate of Lavaca High School, and a graduate of the Arkansas State University. She loved the outdoors, riding horses and loved dogs. She was preceded in death by her father, Billy Bolin. Laura was loved by all of her family and friends and will be missed very much.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
She is survived by her daughter, Ericka Scoggins of the home; son, Peter “Seth” Caraccia of the home; mother, Billie Bolin of Lavaca; brother, Eric Bolin of Lavaca; nephew, Easton Bolin of Panama; maternal grandparents, Irma and Connie McAlvery of Eufaula, Okla.; aunts and uncles, Arvel and Sue Bolin of Fort Smith, Mary and Walter Dyer of Fort Smith, Johnny and Helen Bolin of Fort Smith, Jimmy Bolin of Bokoshe, Nathan Bolin of Lavaca, Misty Bolin of Fayetteville, and Mike and Jeri Cox of Arkoma; numerous cousins as well as her close friends, Buffy Bonds, Janna Hunter and Amy Brewer.
Laura was a beloved mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. God bless you for standing firm for your principles, and rising up against those who attempted to oppress you, regardless of the consequences. We all know the truth and find peace and comfort in your love, strength, and unwavering courage. We love you and know you will be with us, forever!

Maggie Summerhill
Maggie Summerhill, 84, of Russellville went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2005, in a Little Rock hospital. She was formerly of Van Buren and a lifelong member of the First Freewill Baptist Church in Fort Smith. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She served her country during World War II as a welder in the naval shipyards. She was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert Summerhill of 46 years; a daughter, Hazel Hammontree; and a granddaughter, Danita Crow.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 25, 2005, at Ocker Memorial Chapel with burial at Gracelawn cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
She is survived by two daughters, Pauline Summerhill of the home and Laura Gail Summerhill Crouch of Russellville; a son, David Summerhill of Alma; a sister, Treva Pounds of Lemon Grove, Calif.; five grandchildren, Kim Wright, David Summerhill Jr., Grant Coleman Hall, Abigail Elizabeth Crouch and Sarah Kathryn Crouch; and three great-grandchildren, Brittney Wright, Alyssa Crow and Lance Crow.

Wilma Faye Berry, 87, of Charleston died Monday, Feb. 21, 2005, in Bloomer. She was born Sept. 7, 1917, in Central City to Harvey H. Whittenburg and Mamie Maude Tussing Whittenburg. She was a homemaker and a member of Lavaca First Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband William “Bill” Berry; and one daughter, Shirley Berry Dugan.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 25, 2005, at Lavaca First Baptist Church with burial at Morris cemetery in Bloomer under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home of Paris. Officiating the service will be the Rev. Grant Ethridge.

JoAnn Lairamore
On Feb. 22, 2005 heaven’s gates opened for one of God’s most precious angels, JoAnn Lairamore. JoAnn worked at the Wal-Mart distribution center, where she was know as “Miss Wal-Mart.” She was preceded in death by her husband and love of her life, Dale E. Lairamore Jr. JoAnn loved life and she had many passions. She was an artist, loved Arkansas Razorback basketball, a strong supporter for the American Heart Association and was a huge Elvis Presley fan. She loved people and she loved the Lord. JoAnn would have wanted all her friends and loved ones not to grieve for her, but to keep on laughing and remember all the good time she spent with them.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church in Barling with burial at Roselawn cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Fentress Mortuary.
She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Bowles and her husband, Ernie, of Alma; one son, Dale III and wife Jenny Lairamore of Fort Smith; three sisters, Reatha West of Pocola, Thelma Bates of Mulberry, and Margareat Inman of Havana; Aunt Kate of Tulsa; and special friend Chase of Pocola; one brother, Stanley Jones of Norman, Okla.; one grandson, Dale Lairamore IV; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Tracey Powell, Grant Nicely, Randy Bartmier, Dr. Peter Fleck, Casey Bates, Man West and Jeff West.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 8 p.m. at Fentress Mortuary.
