Danny Lee Byrd, 62 of Ola, Arkansas departed this life Thursday, March 10, 2016 at his home. He was born February 15, 1954 in Florida to L.W. Byrd and Bonnie Jean Wilmath. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his parents, his step-father, Gordon Ramsey, and a sister, Kim Estes. Survivors include a daughter, Melanie Bratton and Fiance Steven Davis of Russellville; a son, Randy Byrd and wife Nikki of Dardanelle; a brother, Larry Byrd; two sisters and a brothers-in-law, Sue and Arnold Cornado and Debbie Wyrick; two brothers-in-law, Charles Norman and wife Sonja, Bill Norman and wife Flora; five grandchildren, Ricky Bratton Jr., Alea Bratton, Alexis Byrd, Xander Byrd, Nevaeh Helzer; three special boys and their families, Chase Hasty, Mike Parks, Chance Carlton, Angel Hernandez and numerous nieces, nephews and family and friends. A memorial service will held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, March15, 2016 at the Broussard Chapel officiated by Pastor Justin Hubbard under the direction of Broussard Funeral Home of Russellville. A visitation will be held one hour before service time at 1 p.m.

Fernanda Mercedes Mejia, 90 of Russellville, departed this life Monday, March 14, 2016 at her home. She was born June 2, 1925 in El Salvador to Carmen Zetino. She was of the Catholic faith. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and two sisters. Survivors include two sons, Jose Simion Ruiz, Jose Ernesto Zetino; five daughters, Rosa Zetino, Maria Imperial, Gloria Lopez, Maria Ruth Mejia, Consuelo Zetino; 22 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and other family and friends. The service will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, March 17, 2016 at the Broussard Chapel. The visitation will be held one hour prior to service at 1 p.m. All other arrangements are private and under the direction of Broussard Funeral Home of Russellville, Arkansas.

Doris H. Reynolds, 89, of Booneville, Arkansas, passed from this life on Sunday, March 3, 2013 in Booneville, Arkansas. She was born September 19, 1923 in Belleville, Arkansas to A.C. and Myra Mae Hamby.
She was retired from Boeing aircraft in California. She was a member of the Calvary Temple United Pentecostal Church in Greenwood.
She is preceded in death by her husband Claude Reynolds and a son Michael Reynolds.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Friday, March 8, 2013 at Roberts Memorial Chapel in Booneville with burial in Oak Hill cemetery in Booneville under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home.
She is survived by one son, Gary Reynolds and wife Teri of Colorado Springs, Colorado; two grandchildren, Kyle Reynolds and Christine Jennings and one great grand son, Dayten Jennings.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7:00 P.M., Thursday evening at Roberts Funeral Home.
William Brandon Lincoln Strain

William Brandon Lincoln Strain, 96, of Pocahontas, died at 7:49 p.m., Saturday, December 3, 2011. He was born February 12, 1915 in Le Roy, Illinois to the late William F. and Leah Overmire Strain. Mr. Strain was a retired Master Sergeant, having joined the U.S. Army, then transitioning to the Army Air Corps and then the United States Air Force. After his retirement, he worked at the Cabot Post Office for many years. He enjoyed baseball, reading, fishing, feeding the birds, and loved animals, especially dogs. He liked his time at the Beebe Retirement Center, and in 2010 he chose to live in Pocahontas, with the Jacoby family, David, Rachel, Jonathon, Garrin, and Jaylee, until his death. In addition to his parents, William Brandon was preceded in death by his wife, Lena A. (Patricia) Bush Strain and his sister, Wilma Louise Strain.
He is survived by his nephew, Scott Strehlow, niece, Leah Strehlow, and niece, Jane Beavers, great nephew, Bud Heck, great nieces, Brenda Glover and Shelly Wilson, great great nephews, Joe Heck, Brad Heck, and Trey Wexler, and great great nieces, Christy Boggs Raney, Amanda Boggs Dunn, Megan Wexler, and Michael Wilson.
William S. “Bill” Anderson
Born: December 16, 1922
Death: November 25, 2011
William S. “Bill” Anderson, 88, of Cabot, went home to be with the Lord Friday, November 25, 2011 after a valiant two year battle with cancer. Bill was born December 16, 1922 in Wright City, Oklahoma to the late Isaac and Gertrude Wallace Anderson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
Following graduation from high school, Bill joined the Navy during World War II where he served as a pharmacist mate. After being honorably discharged from the Navy, he went on to join the Air Force reserves and was honorably discharged from the Air Force in 1953. Bill was hired by the Southern Pacific Railroad and retired after 34 years as a conductor.
After his retirement, Bill and his wife Nancy managed various apartment complexes until they moved to Cabot where they managed the Auburn Hills apartments for the last 14 years. Bill enjoyed fishing, dancing, jazz music and beautiful flowers. Bill never met a stranger and one of his greatest gifts was the gift of gab. Bill was a long-time Oklahoma Sooner fan and, if at all possible, never missed a game. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.
Bill is survived by his wife, Nancy Jones Anderson of Cabot; two sons, Ric Anderson and his wife, Isabelle of Silverdale, Washington and Steve Anderson of San Diego, California; his step-daughter, Cindy Monk of Klamath Falls, Oregon; grandsons Wes, Kevin, Gavin and Ryan Anderson, Josh and James Monk and granddaughter Heather Cotton as well as seven great-grandchildren and his first wife, Sarah Anderson of Dierks.
Memorial services will be 2:00 Thursday, December 1, 2011 in the Chapel of Moore’s Cabot Funeral Home (501) 843-5816, with Rev. Terry Fortner officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Arkansas Hospice or Zion Hill Baptist Church.
Bernice McCurry Burns

Bernice McCurry Burns, 74, of Cabot, died Tuesday, November 22, 2011. Born February 23, 1937 in Plainview, she graduated from Searcy High School, was a former student of Ouachita Baptist University, and was a member of the first graduating class of the School of Nursing at University of Arkansas, Fayetteville in 1972. Bernice was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cabot, a Sunday school teacher, a member of the Gideon’s Auxilary and won the Southern Baptist National Better Speakers Tournament in 1955. Mrs. Burns was preceded in death by her father, Allen McCurry.
Bernice is survived by her husband of 56 years, Lawrence Burns of Cabot, her mother, Lillian Luker McCurry of Cabot, her children, Dr. Larry Burns and his wife, Karen of Lexington, Kentucky, Dr. Jerry Burns and his wife, Jackie of Searcy, Sheila and her husband, Jimmy Barnett of Cabot, and Laura and her husband, Dr. Todd Baker of Branson, Missouri, twelve grandchildren, one great grandchild, and two siblings, Truett McCurry of Maumelle and Laquita Wisner of Star City.
Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, November 25, 2011 in the chapel of Moore’s Cabot Funeral Home, (501) 843-5816. Albert Glynn Leatherberry

Albert Glynn Leatherberry, 63, of Jacksonville died Monday, November 21, 2011. He was born September 6, 1948 in East Liverpool, Ohio to the late John Thomas and Essie Mae Lassiter Leatherberry. Mr. Leatherberry served his country in the United States Army and was deployed to Vietnam for two tours. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jason.
Mr. Leatherberry is survived by his wife, Michelle Collier Leatherberry; his son, Albert Leatherberry, Jr. and his wife Simone, of Cabot; his grandchildren, Cade, Brady and Brylee Leatherberry and his sister, Patricia Vosburg of Washington.

Stanley Lawrence Hoskins

Stanley Lawrence Hoskins, 51, of Cabot died Friday, November 18, 2011. He was born August 7, 1960 in Stanford, Kentucky to Doc Hoskins and Ruby Brummett (Hoskins) Bryant. Mr. Hoskins served his country in the United States Air Force for 20 years where he worked on nuclear missiles. He attended Bible Church of Beebe, loved to watch his sons play baseball and be a dad to his children. Stan was a big fan of the Kentucky Wildcats.
Mr. Hoskins is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Martin Hoskins of Cabot; his children, Jacob Hoskins of New York, Seth Cobb of Whitehall, Brandon, Joshua and Adalyn Hoskins, all of Cabot and his grandchildren, Emma and Sophia Hoskins. He is also survived by his parents, Ruby and Charles Bryant and Doc Hoskins; brothers, Jim Hoskins of Washington and Charles Ray Bryant of Kentucky and his sister, Linda Bryant of Kentucky.
Visitation will be from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. James Dylan Allwhite, 18, of Ward died Tuesday, April 10, 2012. He was born July 29, 1993 in Jacksonville to James David and Sheran Ryan Allwhite. Dylan was a 2011 graduate of Cabot High School and had worked at Central States Bus Sales as a salesman. Dylan enjoyed his friends and being outdoors. He was a Christian and the best big brother three girls could have. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Barbara Allwhite and his paternal great-grandmother, Catherine Shockley.
Dylan is survived by his parents, James David Allwhite (Shana) and Sheran Ryan Allwhite (Richea Grant), all of Ward; three sisters, Tyler Allwhite of Ward, Brooke Allwhite of Lonoke and Nikki Allwhite of Lonoke and his high school sweetheart, Katie Rodriguez of Cabot. He is also survived by his paternal grandfather, J. D. Allwhite of Vilonia, his maternal grandparents, Roy and Patrice Ryan of Texarkana, Texas and Donald and Debra Kirk of Mountain View as well as aunts and uncles, Ann Martin (Chris), Claudette Gilchrist (David, Jr.), Jeffrey Smith, Lance Ryan (Shari), Kristy Tabor (Mark) and Matt Nicholas (Samantha).

Gerald Albert Pennock, 72, of Cabot died Wednesday, April 11, 2012. He was born May 17, 1939 in Lonoke County to Julian G and Ila Swaim Pennock. A member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Mr. Pennock worked at the Jacksonville Chemical Plant for 15 years, then Remington Arms for 25 years as an explosives handler. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Gilbert Pennock, sister, Barbara Pennock and sister-in-law, Charlotte Pennock.
Survivors are his brother, Robert Edward Pennock, Sr. of Cabot, nephew, Robert E. Pennock, Jr. and his wife, Wendy of Butlerville, niece, Laura Rasmussen and her husband, Chris of Lonoke; and great niece and nephew, Julia and Ethan Rasmussen.

E. Dale Winkles, 72, of Cabot, passed away Thursday, April 12, 2012. He was born February 20, 1940 in Abilene, Texas to Charles Monroe and Maggie Mae Archer Winkles. A Protestant, Dale accepted Christ on March 18, 2012. He was retired from AGL Corporation in Jacksonville, having worked there 30 years as a machinist and shop supervisor. In addition to his parents, Mr. Winkles was preceded in death by his brother, David Winkles and sister, Mona Rae Fleming.
Survivors are his wife, Thelma Winkles of Cabot, his two sons, Ronald Emmert and his wife, Lou Ann of Little Rock and Russell Emmert and his wife, Andrea of Keller, Texas; his granddaughters, Amanda and her husband, Brandon Monroe and Stephanie Emmert; his brothers, Carlton Winkles and his wife, Loudel and Dub Winkles and his wife, Fran; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Ricky Dale Weeks, 55, of Austin, passed away, Thursday, April 12, 2012. He was born in Jacksonville on August 29, 1956 to the late David Joseph and Lucy Mayflied Weeks. Big Ricky was a generous loving husband, father and grandfather, who was always happy and smiling, and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was a lifelong concrete finisher, an avid hunter, loved riding his four wheeler and was always tinkering and building something. Brother Ricky was a member of New Hope Tabernacle in Cabot. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brother, William and Lanny Weeks.
Big Ricky is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Brenda Weeks of Austin, one son, Ricky Weeks, II, and his wife, Joy and their children, Tyler and Alyssa, all of Austin; one sister, Lucille Weeks; six brothers, Bill Weeks and his wife Kathy, Jerry Weeks and his wife, Kathy, Bobby Weeks, Carl Weeks and his wife, Madilyn, Larry Weeks and his wife, Phyllis and Mike Weeks and his wife, Nita all of Ward; and a host of nieces and nephews.
