VIOLA BRADFORD

Viola D. Bradford, 83, of Texarkana, Ark., died Sunday, June 20, 2004, in a local nursing home.

Mrs. Bradford was born Jan. 13, 1921, in Ben Lomond, Ark. She was retired owner of Viola's Dairy Cup and a member of Corner Stone Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus "Buster" Bradford; and two sons, James Thomas Bradford and William "Bill" Bradford.

Survivors include one son and daughter - in - law, Troy and Gloria Bradford of Texarkana; one daughter and son - in - law, Pat and Leon Green of Nash, Texas; one brother and sister - in - law, George and Fay Duke of Texarkana; one sister, Rosa Lee Skinner of Hooks, Texas; 12 grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Texarkana Funeral Home with the Revs. Jimmy Albrecht and William V. Garner officiating. Burial will be in Rondo Cemetery.

Visitation will be 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

The family will be at 307 Fairview, Texarkana, Ark.

Memorials may be made to Corner Stone Baptist Church, 3900 Union, Texarkana, Ark., 71854.

CHESTER KEEL

HOPE, Ark. - Chester Keel, 62, of Nashville, Ark., died Monday, June 21, 2004, in a Little Rock hospital.

Arrangements are pending with Hicks Funeral Home.

HAROLD YOUNG

DE QUEEN, Ark. - Harold Franklin Young, 78, of De Queen died Saturday, June 19, 2004, at his home.

Mr. Young was born April 13, 1926, in Winthrop, Ark. He was retired owner of Harold's Body Shop, a member of Chapel Hill Baptist Church, De Queen, Sweet Home Masonic Lodge, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the National Guard and a World War II Army veteran. He was preceded in death by one grandson, Scott Corey Young.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret Merle Youngblood Young; one daughter and son - in - law, Sherry and Dean Abrams of Broken Bow, Okla.; two sons and one daughter - in - law, Sam and Linda Young of De Queen and Curtis Young of Bauxite, Ark.; one brother, Carl E. Young of Leesburg, Calif.; one sister, Lyda Meins of Foreman, Ark.; five grandchildren; one great - granddaughter; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Chandler Funeral Home with the Revs. Homer Frachiseur and Steve Woods officiating. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Cemetery with military rites.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

PAUL MIZE

Paul David Mize, 29, of Texarkana, Ark., formerly of Tulsa, Okla., died Friday, June 18, 2004, from injuries received in an automobile accident.

Mr. Mize was born Oct. 6, 1974, in Guadalajara, Mexico. He was associate minister of Terry Mize Ministries and a member of Family Word Church.

Survivors include his wife, Jessica Mize of Texarkana; one son, Colton Mize of Texarkana; two daughters, Avery Mize and Kiley Mize of Texarkana; his parents, Rev. Terry and Jackie Mize of Texarkana; two sisters, Lori Mize of Texarkana and Cristy Fieker of Hooks, Texas; his grandmother, Ima Joy Hall of Texarkana, Ark.; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Trinity Baptist Church. Burial will be in East Memorial Gardens under direction of Texarkana Funeral Home.

The family will at their home, 4300 Senator, Texarkana, Ark.

JACKIE ADAMS

ASHDOWN, Ark. - Jackie D. Adams, 77, of Ashdown died Saturday, June 19, 2004.

Mr. Adams was born Aug. 20, 1927. He was minister of Demascus Baptist Church, Lockesburg, Ark., former pastor of West Bauxite Baptist Church, Benton, Ark., and an Air Force veteran. He was preceded in death by one son, Cary Adams.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Adams of Ashdown; two daughters, Sherri Fite of Benton and Lisa Fatherree of Ashdown; one brother, Dickey Adams of Benton; two sisters, Dorothy Cox and Sallie McGhee of Benton; five grandchildren; and two great - grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Bethel Baptist Church, Ashdown, with the Rev. Mooney officiating. Burial will 4 p.m. Tuesday in Pine Crest Cemetery, Benton, under direction of Madden Funeral Home.

SHERMAN WALKER

Sherman M. Walker, 27, of Warren, Ark., died Sunday, June 20, 2004, from injuries received in an automobile accident.

Arrangements are pending with Haynes Mortuary.

VAN MARCUM

PRESCOTT, Ark. - Pvt. Van Ryan Marcum, 21, of Prescott, Ark., died Saturday, June 19, 2004, in Fort Bening, Ga.

Arrangements are pending with Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home.

BERT BERRY

CAMDEN, Ark. - Bert L. Berry, 80, of Texarkana, Texas, died Saturday, June 19, 2004, at his home.

Mr. Berry was born April 27, 1924, in St. Francis, Ark. He was retired from International Paper Co. and Industrial Pump Service, a member of First Presbyterian Church, elder and deacon of First Presbyterian Church, Camden, Ark., and a World War II Navy veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Milner Berry of Texarkana; one daughter and son - in - law, Martha Berry and Ray Tate of Texarkana; one sister, Audra Luff of Piggott, Ark.; one brother and sister - in - law, James and Mary Fultz of Camden; and number of other relatives.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in Mount Horeb Cemetery, Ouachita County, Ark., with the Rev. Doug Tate officiating. Burial will be under direction of Proctor Funeral Home. Local arrangements are under direction of East Funeral Home, Moores Lane.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at East Funeral Home, Moores Lane.

OLA UPDEGROVE

ANADARKO, Okla. - Ola May Updegrove, 92, of Texarkana, Ark., died Sunday, June 20, 2004, in a local hospital.

Mrs. Updegrove was born July 6, 1911, in Austin. She was a homemaker and a member of the Nondenominational Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin Updegrove.

Survivors include one son and daughter - in - law, Donald and Edna Updegrove of Choctaw, Okla.; three daughters and sons - in - law, Margaret and Wayne Yung of Marana, Ariz., Mary and Bryce Peterson of Texarkana and Martha and Dale Yung of Kimball, Neb.; one sister, Ruth Danclefs of Waco, Texas; eight grandchildren; and 15 great - grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Smith Hackney Funeral Home. Local arrangements are under direction of Texarkana Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today at Texarkana Funeral Home.

ALVIN EAVES SR.

Alvin Eaves Sr., 88, of Texarkana, Ark., died Wednesday, June 16, 2004, at his home.

Mr. Eaves was born Feb. 8, 1916, in Fouke, Ark. He was retired from Union Station, former Miller County Deputy Sheriff, a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church and Miller County Sheriff's Auxiliary and a World War II Navy veteran. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Maude Eaves in 1988; and one son, Alvin "A.J." Eaves Jr.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Eaves of Texarkana; one daughter, Melba Kay of Marshall, Texas; one son and daughter - in - law, Raymond and Joy Eaves of Marshall; one stepson, Jimmie Spears of Tyler, Texas; two stepdaughters, Pamela Sims and Judy Berry of Tyler; one sister, Gladys McDonald of Hot Springs, Ark.; two brothers, Barney Eaves of Fouke and Ray Eaves of Forrest Hills, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; 13 great - grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Texarkana Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmy Albrecht and H.L. Phillips officiating. Burial will be in East Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

The family will be at the Eaves home, 3319 Cherry St., Texarkana, Ark.

JULIUS STUCKEY

STAMPS, Ark. - Julius Stuckey, 22, of Texarkana, Ark., died Tuesday, June 15, 2004, at his home.

Mr. Stuckey was born June 2, 1982, in Texarkana, Texas. He was a fire specialist.

Survivors include his parents, Rodney Stuckey and Patricia Ann Green of Texarkana; three sisters, Patrice Green, Asia Fountain and Monica Stuckey of Texarkana; and two brothers, Labarron Starks and Timothy Starks of Texarkana.

Services will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Lonoke Baptist Church, Texarkana, Ark., with the Rev. David Elizah officiating. Burial will be in Armstrong Cemetery, Ogden, Ark., under direction of Smith Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. today at the church.

ELIZABETH GREER

Elizabeth Greer, 70, of Texarkana, Ark., died Wednesday, June 16, 2004, in a local hospital.

Arrangements are pending with Lyles Funeral Home.
