Franklin Carruth

JONESBORO -- Franklin Lemuel "Soo" Carruth, 59, of Jonesboro died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2006 in his home of natural causes.

Born at Leachville, Franklin lived much of his life in the Jonesboro area. He worked 25 years for Riceland Foods of Jonesboro and was a Baptist.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Franklin and Elsie White Carruth; sister, Shirley Parnell; and brother, Carl Parnell.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Jane Arnold Carruth of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and Joey Troutman of Jonesboro; one sister, Ellen McCann of Magnolia; four brothers, Terry Joe Parnell of Florida, Eddie Carruth of Manila, Elgie Carruth of Little Rock and Eugene Carruth of Jonesboro; and two grandchildren, Brittney Arnold and Brandon Troutman.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Pastor Brian Rookey officiating. Burial will follow in Worley Cemetery near Cash.

Pallbearers will be Bryant Carmichael, Brooks Carmichael, Michael Hawkins, Jimmy Platz, Ronnie Rackstraw and Brandon Wall.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday in Emerson Funeral Home at Jonesboro.

Faye Jane Croley

CORNING -- Faye Jane Croley, 70, died Sunday, Dec. 3.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James; a grandson; two sisters; and four brothers.

She is survived by two sons, Robert Croley of Reyno and David Croley of Palisade, Colo.; two daughters, Denise Henry and Anita Blagg of Corning; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. today in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home at Pocahontas with Paul Craig officiating.

Esta Imogene Dame

TRUMANN -- Graveside services for Mrs. Esta Imogene Dickens Dame, 70, of Trumann will be at 1:30 p.m. today at Pine Hill Cemetery in Jonesboro with the Rev. Bobby Ivy officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home of Trumann.

Mrs. Dame, the daughter of the late Dennis Devoe and Pauline Elliott Hawkins, died Tuesday, Dec. 5, at the family residence.

Born in and a lifetime resident of Trumann, she was a housewife and a member of Freer Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Junior Dickens; three brothers, Thomas J. Hawkins, Leland Hawkins and Dennis Devoe Hawkins Jr.; and her parents.

Survivors include four daughters, Linda Davis and Robie Holland, both of Evening Shade, Sharon Morgan of Trumann and Debra Lynn Brawley of Coco Beach, Fla.; two sisters, Earline Coin and Deb Barker of Trumann; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Kevin White, Doug Timbs, Jimmy Stevens, David Pierson and David Holland.

Rose Dye

TYRONZA -- Mrs. Rose Dye, 61, of Tyronza, formerly of Swifton, died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2006, at Tyronza.

Survivors include her son, Michael Leon Dye of Marmaduke; three daughters, Cheryl Chapman of Swifton, Kimberly Tubbs of Centerhill, Mo., and Kristina Woods of Tyronza; a sister, Ann Taylor of Coldwater, Miss.; 16 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Jackson's Newport Funeral Home Chapel with Thomas Patterson officiating. Interment will be in Redd Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today.

Arrangements are by Jackson's Newport Funeral Home.

Ramona J. Heddy

ST. LOUIS -- Ramona J. Heddy of St. Louis died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2006 in St. Anthony's Medical Center at St. Louis.

Ms. Heddy was born July 15, 1933 at Corning.

Survivors include three sons, Ron Heddy, Don Heddy and wife Mary, and Randy Heddy and wife Cindy; several brothers and sisters; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins and friends.

Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday in Ermert Funeral Home at Corning.

The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Corning Cemetery.

Marguerite Harris Hendrix

JONESBORO -- Marguerite Harris Hendrix, 88, of Jonesboro died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2006, in Northeast Arkansas Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Ray Funeral Home with burial to follow in New Cleveland Cemetery under the direction of Ray Funeral Home of Cleveland.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Ms. Hendrix was born in Cominto on April 17, 1918, to Samuel David Harris and Carrie Adcock Harris. She attended Arkansas A&M at Monticello where she was also secretary to the dean. She taught school at Wells Bayou.

She was married to Lavell Lambert Hendrix for 61 years. She was a homemaker and caregiver for her daughter. For a period of time, Marguerite worked at Ward Lumber Company in Cleveland designing custom kitchens.

She and her husband were charter members of St. Luke Methodist Church. She was a charter member and past president of Community Art Club; a member of Friends of the Library, Rock and Mineral Association, National Audubon Society, National Trust for Historic Preservation, and a charter member of the Mississippi Native Plant Society.

Marguerite was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was the loving and devoted caregiver for her daughter Janis. She cared for Janis in the home for more than 30 years. Marguerite loved nature and spent every free moment working in her yard. Many of her friends have descendants of her eagerly shared plants in their own yards today.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lavell Hendrix; her daughter, Janis Carimin Hendrix; and her parents.

Survivors include a son, Lavell Lambert Hendrix Jr. "Rick" of Jonesboro; two granddaughters, Meredith Carimin Hendrix and Catherine Elizabeth Hendrix, both of Jonesboro; two sisters, Anna H. Barkley of Houston, Texas and Betty Harris Pickett of Ball, La.; and a brother, Sam Harris of Eudora.

Jane Jackson

IMBODEN -- Jane Jackson, 84, died Wednesday, Dec. 6.

She is survived by her sons, Walter Dale Jackson, Gary Lane Brown and Jimmy Neal Brown, all of Imboden; daughter, Linda Dian Russell of Springfield, Mo.; grandchildren, Angela Saulsbury, Miranda Reel, Salenia Ingram, Garth Russell, Joshua Day, Daniel Russell, Phillip Russell, Beverly Rockley, Rachel Campbell, Kevin Brown, Jared Brown and Lucrietia Brown; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in McNabb Funeral Home Chapel with Lenny Finny officiating. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Forrest C. Jones

DURAND, Mich. -- The Rev. Forrest C. Jones, 87, of Durand, Mich., formerly of Piggott, died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2006 in Argentine Care Center in Michigan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two daughters and three brothers.

Survivors include his wife, four sons, one daughter, 21 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday in Irby Funeral Home Chapel at Piggott. Burial will follow in Piggott Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Sunday in Irby chapel.

Irby Funeral Home of Piggott is in charge of arrangements.

William Lantis

BAY -- William Paul "Bill" Lantis, 60, of Bay died Wednesday in NEA Medical Center at Jonesboro.

Survivors include his wife, Edna Jeanell Whitehead Lantis.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro.

Fanny Lee Oden

LAKE CITY -- Fanny Lee Oden, 65, died Wednesday, Dec. 6, in St. Bernards Medical Center at Jonesboro.

She was born at Jonesboro and had lived at Lake City for 12 years. She was of the Baptist belief and a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mark Campbell and Prilley Curtis; one brother; and two sisters.

Survivors are her companion, Guy McCoy of Lake City; two sons, John and Anthony Oden, both of Jonesboro; four brothers, Joseph and Deloyd Campbell and Robert Curtis of Jonesboro, and Eugene Campbell of Pocahontas; three stepbrothers, Clifton, Sam and Charles Curtis, all of Jonesboro; four sisters, Elizabeth Metcalf and Mary Swindle, both of Jonesboro, Lavelle Scott of Bay and Isabell Davison of Kingsburg, Calif. and one grandson, Matthew Bryan Whitley.

Funeral service will be private under the direction of Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro.
