PATRICIA "PAT" GAIL SEVERINO
August 5, 1937 - November 27, 2002
Friends and family will gather at 2 p.m. Dec. 4th at Ouimet Bros. FuneralChapel, 4125 Clayton Rd., Concord, Calif., 94521, to remember the life of Pat Severino. She died at home on Nov. 27, 2002 after a long battle with ovarian cancer, at the age of 65.
The daughter of Vic and Dorothy Glover, she graduated from Chico High School in 1955 and Highland Hospital School of Nursing in Oakland in 1958. She spent most of her career at John Muir MedicalCenter in concord, Calif.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Al; two sons, Joe of Heilsburg and David of Concord; two siblings, Bob Glover of San Francisco and Linda Gould of Chico.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
C. RANDAL FINCH
Services will be conducted at The Federated Church in Orland on Tuesday, February 11, at 10 a.m. for Randal Finch, who passed away on February 7, 2003 at the age of 87. Randal was born on January 12, 1916 in Orland, Calif. Randal attended Orland schools, was an alumni of the graduating Class of 1934. Randal farmed his entire life east of Orland and in the Plaza District. He sat on the Board of Chico Production Credit Association and for a time served as Chairman of The Board. He served on the Board of Orland Artois Irrigation District from November of 1954 until February of 1987; he served on the board of Cal West Seeds and for a time served as Chairman of The Board. He was a lifelong member of the Orland Federated Church and served as an Elder at the local Church and held office in the Sacramento Presbytery. He was a member of California Cattlemen's Association and was a director on the Orland High School Board during the 1950s and 1960s, and a long-time member of the Orland Kiwanis Club.
Randal is survived by his wife of 62 years, Daisy Finch; two sons, Gene Finch of Paradise and Gary Finch of Orland; three grandchildren, Scott Finch of Orland, Jeramie Finch of Orland and Jo Ann Finch Bettencourt of Chico; two great-grandchildren, Brittney Finch and Jeramie Finch Jr. of Orland.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in honor of Randal to The American Heart Association or The Federated Church.

VERNA V. BAIRD
Verna was born October 23, 1911 at the Gatliff Ranch in Elk Creek, Calif. (This ranch is now covered by the Stony Gorge Dam). Verna passed away on June 8, 2003 at the age of 91 at her home in Willows, surrounded by her family and friends.
Verna is survived by her husband, Earl Baird, her twin sister Verda Ellis, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Verna was employed by the County for over 20 years. She worked in the County Assessor's Office, the Recorders and Treasurers Office during this time.
Verna and Verda grew up in Elk Creek where she met Earl when she was about fifteen at the shearing shed at the Mirande Ranch. They were married February 16, 1931 in Marysville and have been together for 72 years. In the early years of their marriage they traveled through Montana and Northern California shearing sheep. They farmed in Artois until they moved to Willows in 1963.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 11, at the Willows Christian Church, 200 South Plumas, in Willows. Viewing will be Tuesday 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday 8 to 10 a.m. at F.D. Sweet Mortuary, 114 N. Shasta in Willows.
The family has requested that donations may be made to the Willows Senior Nutrition Site in care of F.D. Sweet Mortuary.
ALICIA GORE
A Memorial Service will be held for Alicia Gore, 46 of Oroville, at 11 a.m., Tuesday, December 9, 2003 at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 2350 Foothill Blvd. in Oroville. She passed away on November 30, 2003 in Marysville.
She was born on August 11, 1957 in Colima, Mexico to Felimone Arreola and Ramona Fletes. She worked for the Palermo Union School District for 18 years at the Honcut, Palermo and Helen Wilcox schools.
Her survivors include her husband Micheal Gore; three daughters, Diana Gore, Ramona Gore and Rachel Perez; three grandchildren ages eight years, 18 months and two months; four brothers, Margarito, Ruben, Pablo and Miguel; two sisters, Lupe and Ofelia; and her father Felimone.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Monday, December 8th at Scheer Memorial Chapel. Burial will be at Oroville Cemetery
District, 5646 Lincoln Blvd, Oroville.
BRUCE ALAN RUSSELL
Bruce Alan Russell died suddenly December 4, 2003 at the age of 47. Bruce was born February 19, 1956 in Eureka, Calif.
He is survived by his wife, Roseanne; son Jaushwa and wife Kathryn; his daughter Ceva Russell; parents Lyle and Jean Russell; mother-in-law Maxine Cirino; siblings: Sheila, Gary and son Justin Forbes, Kevin, Sheila and son Matthew Russell; brothers and sisters-in-law; niece and family, Yvette, David and Torie Maier; and other family members. He was preceded in death by his brother Jeffrey; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Dick Andreoff, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Russell; and two uncles, Richard Andreoff and Gilbert Russell.
Bruce and Roseanne owned and operated Armstrong Vinyl Siding Company for 24 years. He also owned The Humboldt Life and Times newspaper in Eureka. Bruce loved life and talking on the phone. Playing golf on the Senior Tour was his dream.
Friends are welcome for Visitation on Tuesday, December 9, 2003 from 1 p.m. to 7 pm. at the Paradise Chapel of the Pines. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, December 10, 2003 at 2 p.m. at the Paradise Chapel of the Pines. A gathering immediately following his service is at the banquet room of the Spinning Wheel Restaurant of Paradise, 5522 Skyway, Paradise. There will also be a Celebration of this Life at the Elks Club in Eureka on Saturday, December 13, 2003, 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 1372 Longfellow Ave., Chico. 800-242-8721.
CAROL LINTON
Memorial services will be held for Carol Ann Linton, 67, formerly of Chico, 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 11th at Bidwell Memorial Presbyterian Church. She died Wednesday December 3, 2003 at University Medical Center in Tucson, Arizona after battling cancer for three years.
Carol was born March 14, 1936 in Monterey Park, Calif. to Betty and Verl Jones. Fifty years ago, she married Donald Linton in Redding. In 1970, the couple settled in Chico where Carol worked for Tri-Counties Bank. In 1996, the couple retired to Tucson.
Survivors include her husband, Don of Tucson; two sons, Rick and his wife Janet of Chico and Rory and his wife Theresa of Winters; a brother, Loren Jones and his wife Cheryl of Redding; and seven grandchildren: Sean, Steve, Ryan, Jennafer, Jessica, Cody and Zack Linton. A son, Russell, predeceased her.
A cryptside service will precede the church service 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Chico Memorial Mausoleum. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Newton-Bracewell Chico Funeral Home. GARY LUNDQUIST
Gary Lundquist died of natural causes at his home in Chico on Thursday, December 4, 2003. Services will be held Wednesday, December 10th at 1 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on East Avenue and Mariposa (near PV High School). Viewing will be that morning at the church from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Gary will be escorted by an Honor Guard of the Chico Fire Department to the Chico Cemetery
where he will be interred in the Firemen's section next to his son Michael. Following the services at the Cemetery, there will be a reception at Chico Fire Station Five (across from the Elk's Lodge) to which all are invited. Many have expressed their desire to talk about their remembrances of Gary at that informal time.
Gary is survived by his wife Kay Lundquist of Chico; daughters Polly Jones of Chico and Julie Gust of Tracy; grandchildren, Nathan and Shelby; sons, Victor Lundquist of Laguna Nigel and Kelly Lundquist of Lindon, Utah; grandchildren, Mitchell, Melissa, Elise, Bree, Blake, Curt, Kallie, and Tori. He is also survived by his father, Glen; and brothers, Rex and Jack; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his son, Michael Nelson Lundquist in 1979. Michael was also given an honorable escort by the Fire Department at that time.
Gary was born June 3, 1936 to Fay and Glen Lundquist in Malad, Idaho. He was raised in Southern California, often spending his summers on the farm in Idaho. He was proud of his service as a medic in the US Army 25th infantry division from 1954 to 1957. He was stationed in Hawaii and his first son was born there. His second son was born soon after on the mainland. Gary's passion during his young adult years was surfing. Every spare minute was spent at the beach with his young family, waiting to catch the right wave. Later, if he wasn't at the beach, he could be found on his motorcycle.
Gary left the ocean and Southern California behind when he came to Chico in 1970 to marry Kay and become an instant dad to three more children, Julie, Mike and Polly. (He brought his motorcycle to Chico!) Soon after that he became a member of the Chico Fire Department, which became like an extended family to Gary and Kay. He proudly served for 24 years and retired in 1995.
He was a member of the NRA and was an avid gun collector. He pursued that with the same enthusiasm as his earlier hobbies.

HERSHEL LEE PEARCY JR.
Hershel Lee Pearcy Jr, 33 years old, was born on September 22, 1970 in Compton, Calif. to Hershel L. Pearcy Sr. and Betty L. Pearcy. Hershel died peacefully in his sleep at his home in Chico, after a lifetime struggle with diabetes and its many resulting complications.
Hershel proudly graduated with his high school diploma from Upland Adult School. Hershel had many interests and loves, just a few being baseball, football, the races, c.b. radios, and mountain biking. He was a faithfulfan of both Ozzy Osborne and the Raiders. He most loved to spend time with his friends. He loved to laugh and best any comers in a game of pool.
Hershel is survived, loved and missed by his fiance Laura Peters of Chico; his mother and father, Betty L. and Hershel L. Pearcy Sr. of Palmdale, Calif.; his beautiful daughters, Amber Pencz of Upland, Calif. and Brittany Pearcy of Little Rock, Calif.; his brother Larry Pearcy of Yucaipa, Calif.; his sisters, Cherlyn Land of Victorville, Calif. and Donna Took of Houston, Texas; his paternal grandmother, Ruth Pearcy of Upland; his aunts, Emma Bryant of Upland and Helen Plant of Ontario, Calif.; and his uncle, Robert Pearcy of Corona, Calif. Hershel is also leaving behind his friends, all of whom will never forget his unique sense of humor and his unending stubbornness to make it through each day.
No formalservices are planned. Arrangements are under the direction of Brusie Funeral Home.
DONALD LOYD DONNER
Donald Loyd Donner was born in Chico on August 19, 1937. He died January 30, 2004, at home peacefully. He is the son of Harvey and Lela Donner. After graduating from Chico High School, he served in the United States Navy for five years. He worked as a telephone technician and other things. Donald was an avid outdoorsman who loved a great adventure. He loved to tell stories and party with his many friends, here and afar. He also loved his dogs.
Survivors include his daughter, Karen Jean Kegg of Chico, and her three children; son, David Wayne Sharp of Japan; ex-wife Jeanie of Washington; brother and his wife, Mark and Charlene Donner of Bellevue, Wash. and their children, Marcus, Cindy and Christy; nephew Mark; and nieces, Laurie and Lisa. Donald was preceded in death by his parents and sister Kathleen Hanks.
His funeral service will be held at Newton-Bracewell Chico Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 4, 2004 at 11:30 a.m.
ALVIN DALE ROGERS
Alvin Dale Rogers, 64, passed away at his home on January 29, 2004. He moved to Oroville, near Butte College, 36 years ago from Palm Desert, Calif. He was born October 11, 1939 in Antioch, Calif and was raised in Oxnard, Calif. the son of Curtis and Nora Rogers.
He was a welding instructor at Butte Community College for 33 years. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Paradise 1st Ward and the American Welding Society. He attended Cal Poly on a sports scholarship where he played baseball and football. He transferred to Fresno State continuing with his baseball career and graduated in 1962. He then went on to U.C. Davis and received his teaching credential. He was about family and was a loving and caring husband, father and brother and a dedicated teacher. He loved to travel, ATV riding, shooting sports and hunting.
Alvin married his wife, Josette Gallego, on September 30, 1960 in Fresno, Calif. He is also survived by one son, Dale Rogers attending school in Madison, Wis.; six daughters, Michelle Corry of Idaho Falls, Shiela Carrozza of Austin, Texas, DeAdra Harston of San Antonio, Texas, Lara Ruthven of Oroville, Jodi Brown of Austin, Texas and Toni Baker of Provo, Utah; three brothers, Clark Rex of Camarillo, Calif., Robert Rex of John Day, Ore., Dean Rogers of Mt. Vernon, Ore.; 14 grandchildren; one great grandchild.
A Memorial Service is planned for Thursday, February 5, 2004, at 11 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on Buschmann Road in Paradise. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Paradise Hospice. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 4, 2004, 4-8 p.m. at Rose Chapel Mortuary.
